CHAPTER 3: FOREST
They left as soon as possible. The edge of the forest was foreboding, looking as though it would thrash anyone who dared come there; or else that person would be lost forever in the labyrinth of trees and hills. But Mewtwo knew it to be not so, though it took some persuading for the others.
(Looks dangerous to me.) said Shaddra.
(I have been in there many times before. You need not worry. Come now, before a human sees us.)
So they walked along the rugged trails quickly, only slowing when Mewtwo was sure that no human had seen them. A change seemed to come over Shaddra though. She gazed all around in wonder feeling a familiarity that she could not explain. Was this the forest she had been born and lived in once upon a time? Shaddra had been found by her human family years ago, before which she couldn't remember anything. Mewtwo noticed her looking around.
(Is something wrong?) (No...it's nothing.) she lied.
Kirya was quickly losing energy. All this walking was something she was not used to. And night was approaching. The pokémon they had seen looking at them had all disappeared leaving only the ones that hunt at night awake.
(Moonwalker I think maybe we should stop. Kirya's nearly asleep on her toes.)
(I see. Then we shall sleep here tonight.) he said putting down his bag of food, getting out a blanket for Kirya.
The last thing Mewtwo saw before sleep took him was Kirya using Shaddra's sleeping form as a pillow. Leaning on a tree he went to sleep.
