The Mewtwo Chronicles

When Mewtwo rescues a girl named Kirya and her absol from their kidnappers, he must escort them to safety. But what starts as a journey to bring them home leads to the creation of two new mewtwos, whose lives and struggles will eventually intertwine with his. The original version of "TPRS," which was serialized from July 26th, 2004 to June 11th, 2006 on The Pokemon Tower.

4. Lost and Found

CHAPTER 4: LOST AND FOUND

Mewtwo awoke to the sound of Shaddra yelling both in pokémon talk and telepathy at him. And she did not sound as though she was asking for the food.

(Moonwalker where is Kirya! Do you know where she went?!) shouted Shaddra. Mewtwo's eyes snapped open. Indeed, Kirya was nowhere to be seen.

(We will find her, do not worry. You try to pick up her scent. I'll-)

(I've tried that already! But all these flowers around here have stuffed up my nose.)

Mewtwo had not noticed the flowers till then. He knew that the longer Kirya was left unfound the less likely it would be that they would find her again.

(As I was saying, I will try to use my psychic powers to pick up her aura. If you can not smell anything then just look around. Perhaps there is a clue to where she is.)

He floated above the tree-tops. Mewtwo looked around. There was a stream over there perhaps she had gone off for a drink. Wait. Why was he so concerned about a human? What did it matter? He needed to find her. She was the closest he would ever get to...

(Do you see anything?) Shaddra asked from down below.

(There is a stream over in that direction. She might be there. Do not talk to me now. I am going to try to find her aura.)

He concentrated. He saw many auras of pokémon and he saw Shaddra's. Now where is Kirya's? With so many other auras around it was difficult. Eventually he succeeded.

(There!) he exclaimed pointing to a small pond that the river fed.

They rushed to the lake. Mewtwo flying above, Shaddra running below. Soon the clearing of the pond came into view. There, playing in the shallows with some water pokémon, was Kirya. The pokémon fled when they saw the two angry but relieved pokémon that came out of the bush.

Kirya turned around quickly as she saw the pokémon retreat. Her face fell as she saw the two. Right away she knew she was in trouble. Shaddra quickly trotted over to her and nuzzled her.

(What have I told you about telling me where you're going? Don't you ever do that again! Do you understand?) she scolded.

Kirya nodded her head. She looked up at Mewtwo and saw that he was looking at her with a strange expression on his face. Was it relief or something else?

(We must be going now. We still have a long way to go.) he said finally.
