CHAPTER 5: A MATE FOR SHADDRA?
So they started down the rugged trail once more. Shaddra was keeping a close eye on the guilty Kirya who was walking between Shaddra and Mewtwo. They walked, ate, and walked some more. The trail seemed to go on forever. Soon though dusk had fallen and the creatures of the night began to come out. This time though they would not stop. They would keep going. Kirya was now sleeping on Shaddra's back. Suddenly they heard something. At first Mewtwo thought it had been Shaddra speaking in her spoken tongue. He realized soon though that it was not. Mewtwo stopped and picked up Kirya off Shaddra's back. Shaddra of course had heard the voice too.
(Moonwalker...it's another Absol!) (I noticed.) Mewtwo replied.
Then the Absol came out of the forest and onto the path. Mewtwo immediately knew from its size that it was male. It looked at him almost nervously but looked back at Shaddra. There was a look in its eyes as it looked at her that Mewtwo couldn't recognize.
"Ab ab sol, solab sol, absol."
Mewtwo didn't know what he was saying. See pokémon have three types of languages. One is the universal language that all pokémon understand. The second one though usually not used is the element language where pokémon of one element such as electricity uses that element to talk to one another. The third is the species dialect in which only a member of that species can understand one another. The male Absol was using that here. Mewtwo watched them talk to another in this language. When he saw Shaddra's usually black face flush pink he started to understand what was going on.
Finally, the Absol left and it looked, to Mewtwo, a bit confused. Shaddra's face was still flushed pink. He grinned.
(What was that about? Did I just see what I thought I saw?) said Mewtwo in false innocence. It was unlike him to tease but in this he could not help himself. This was Shaddra he was talking about.
Shaddra looked up at him, faced even more flushed. She knew exactly what he was thinking. And she didn't like it...
(What makes you think I'll tell you what he said! Come on let's go...) she said.
