CHAPTER 17: RIOT
In the headquarters Neva and Morgan were a sign of death and fear. Stories true and false, were begin spread by all people there. Some even began to believe that the two were aliens, not clones that they really were. Over time, Neva and Morgan began to explore the headquarters, causing a great silence whenever the humans spotted them.
Soon, they even got most of it memorized and Morgan even stared to have lunch in the cafeteria. Neva also got a glimpse of the outside world through a small window.
In the meantime, the battles continued. And they kept getting tougher and tougher. While Morgan sailed by Neva was struggling a bit. It seemed that the forced fighting would receive no experience. This meant no going up levels. This annoyed the Boss even more then her not killing in the first place. But as long as she did her job, he was fine with it…
Through all the fighting and bloodshed, Neva and Morgan still managed to have some good times. Though rare did they, those moments they savored immensely. Today was one of those times. They were doing a favorite past time: racing. Through obstacles and water they went, saying thoughts to one another. But it was fun.
(I'm going to win this time Morgan!)
(How is that?)
(Cause I'm ahead of you!)
(Oh, really?) Morgan asked amused since the truth was that SHE was in front.
(Right now!) Neva said as she pushed her speed and sped past Morgan.
(Oh, no you don't!) Then rushed to catch up to her.
So the race went on. When it was nearly over Morgan suddenly stopped. Neva stopped soon after. Confusion was evident on her face.
(What is it?) Asked Neva.
(Don't you feel it? That immense energy?)
(Yeah, it's sort of like…an emotion maybe?)
(…Neva…there is a great amount of humans coming this way. Do you agree?)
(Yeah! There are. What are they doing near here? Don't they hate us?)
(True. They have no reason to be this close to us. What are they thinking?)
(No idea. We're psychic right? Shouldn't we be able to look into their minds?) Wondered Neva.
(Hmm…interesting concept. Let me try…)
(Well?)
(…Oh, crap. In a nutshell, these humans wish to painfully kill us with an array of lethal weapons, to get revenge for all the pokémon we've killed.)
(I can understand that! Morgan, can they hurt us?)
(No. We're psychic, we can stop bullets and knifes, and them to, if we have too. I'd prefer them not to wreck the training area though. Let's enclose the doors in a barrier so they can't get in.) Told Morgan.
(Okay. Here goes…)
So they did. Soon, they heard shouts from the outside hallways. Most of them protested that the doors were jammed and that they couldn't get in. Others saying maybe they weren't strong enough to open the doors. Others said from the back that those in front were scary-cats and should go back to their apartments. Then there was a long silence; so long that the clones almost took off their barrier. Then a strange sound came. A pinging of sorts. They realized that the humans were shooting at the door, then. It was almost laughable seeing how they struggled to get in. They didn't have any luck what so ever.
A new shout was heard though. One that the two immediately identified as the shout of the angry Boss. He seemed to be threatening them with their jobs, and lives as well. Soon the crowd outside left, and also left an anger Boss at the entrance of the gym. Soon he turned away and left with the others. Neva and Morgan let down their barrier.
This event could almost be funny. But say those humans had come while they slept. Neva and Morgan learned how to make that barrier while they were sleeping just to be safe…
