CHAPTER 18: A TEST?

"Mr. Jacobs I've been thinking." Said the Boss.

"About what?" asked his assistant.

"The original creature. Neva doesn't seem to be progressing like I want. Perhaps I should give her a test…"

"Like?"

"If she can beat the original, which has to be on a high level, then I think that proves that she is strong enough to be here. If she loses, then I can easily get rid of her, if not she can live. Morgan is a fine creature in battle, but do I really need two? One of which I had to put a microchip in her brain to control? No, I think not. What do you think of my plan?"

"It's good. But they have never been outside before. And what if one of them escapes? Before you know it they might start to breed! You noticed that our girls look considerably different then the male correct?"

"Yes, I've noticed that they have…shall we say…a considerably fuller chest, and as I've noticed, thinner and more elegant then the male. What do you mean by that little breeding comment? That creature couldn't be there without biological parents."

"True, very true. When do you plan on doing this?"

"Tomorrow. Make sure that Morgan stays in the training area. Give her a job or something. I trust you to keep her in place. Remember SHE doesn't have a microchip."

"Very well sir. Good luck with this."

"I don't need luck."

Neva and Morgan had been sparing when the Boss's assistant came into their training area. Neva had to wonder what he could possibly be here for, if not something important. As Morgan and her landed he announced with some uncertainty something in which Neva would never think she would hear.

"Neva, the Boss has a special mission for you. The reason I'm here instead of him is because he's preparing for it. Neva, you will be going on a mission, outside. It's Top Secret so I can't inform you on the details just yet," he said to a stunned Neva, "Morgan, I understand that you would like to go with too. You cannot, I'm sorry, since you are needed here. I've heard you are becoming quite good at manipulating things. You are needed to create a small lake in this room for your in-water-training. I will supervise this and I trust you to do a good job. Is all of this understood?"

The twins nodded. Morgan was a bit ticked that she couldn't go, since she like Neva would like to see the outside world. Neva on the other hand was excited. She had always wanted to see the outside…and now she was finally going to! Even in this a small part of her mind wondered what her mission was. What could it be?

But soon it was time to leave. As Morgan prepared to make the pool, Neva was walking out the door. She looked back at Morgan and suddenly wished her sister would be there too. Up, up, up, they walked and went till they came to the roof. As the door opened Neva couldn't help but gasp. She had never seen the moon before, but had heard of it. Never in her wildest dreams could she imagine such beauty. Silver-white and full of light. Then the clouds covered its face. Lowering her head, she climbed aboard the running helicopter. As they climbed the sky in the noisy machine, Neva stared in wonder at the world below. So much she had never known. So much beauty and life. If only…

But soon they were in the clouds, and all became shielded. They climbed and when they reached above the clouds she saw another world, more amazing then the one below. But something was missing. There was no color, no life. But the stars. Little specks of light that were suns to other planets so far away. Neva had never seen the sun. There was so much she had missed. So much…

Absorbed by the majesty of the world she had never known, and in her own thoughts as well, Neva never noticed them coming up upon a city. The city in which Mewtwo lived…

And when they spotted the floating figure of Mewtwo, she didn't notice that either…
