CHAPTER 19: MEETING MEWTWO
Over the last five months Mewtwo had been going about his life as usual. For quite a while he had puzzled over that waking in the alley, but could never find the answer to what happened. It lurked in the back of his mind, always there, and to that Mewtwo couldn't see why. What important thing could have happened in that time?
Tonight, however he was taking a break from his duties and decided just to sight see the city. Some parts were extremely pretty. The park and the fountain for example. The way the water glistened in the moonlight reminded him of Mt. Keyna. Such a pretty place that was. He mused to himself the thought of the human couple there trying to find where the pure water came from. He gave a small chuckle at that. He decided to head home. His garden was nearly fully grown now. The Silver Maple and Willow trees had grown to a good size now, along with the other, smaller trees. Soon, he wouldn't need to go to the park to get food! That would be a good step. He now headed home.
He noticed then that the clouds covered the moon. The city became shadowed just then. This didn't bother Mewtwo since his eyesight allowed him to see through the darkest night. He floated smoothly through the sky. Listening to the wind passing by him, he became aware of another sound. A distinct thrum, not unlike a helicopter.
Mewtwo looked over his shoulder.
It WAS a helicopter. It was FOLLOWING him. What in the world? Quickly he tried turning his course, but indeed, it followed. This was new. He darted down to the ground. When he landed, the chopper landed behind him. He didn't think he could run from it any longer. He turned around and faced it. Mewtwo couldn't see inside it, thanks to the shadowed glass. As the helicopter stilled Mewtwo heard voices from inside. The door opened. Something was coming out.
Mewtwo's heart skipped when he saw what it was. This couldn't be…it couldn't… But it was. A female of his species. Looking at her he noticed some profound differences…but her eyes interested him most. They were a red-violet color, mostly red. They looked at him with what? Disbelief? Fear? Emotions traced through them at a speed in which Mewtwo couldn't keep track of. She looked behind her shoulder with a question.
Mewtwo became aware of the human sitting in the seat behind her. He nodded at her. She looked at the man with a firm answer. No way. Surprisingly he heard this also. (No. Please…don't make me. I don't want to fight him.)
"To bad. I order you to fight and kill it!"
Mewtwo noticed a change come over the female. Her eyes glazed in a trance and for a second Mewtwo saw a flicker of fear in her eyes. Then she charged him.
Mewtwo wondered what she was doing. Had not she just said she wouldn't? Wait a minute… Kill him they said! Oh, crap. This was not good at all.
(Why do you fight me?) He asked between dodging.
(…I'm…not…in…control…) she said this so softly that Mewtwo wondered if he was imagining it.
As Mewtwo mulled over what she had just said he asked (What do you mean?)
(…Exactly…what I…said!…What do…you…think?)
(I do not understand any of this! How are you even here?)
(…Morgan…might…know… I…don't…really… We…were…created…I know.)
(Morgan?)
(My…sister…)
(There are two of you?)
(No…there is…one…of…me…and…one Morgan…)
(I understand that! How long ago were you created?)
(They…first…began to…create us…five…months…ago… We've…been…awake…for one…month… Morgan…more so.)
(Gahhh!) He'd just been punched, (So, that is what happened that night!)
(…Huh?)
(Never mind. You are in no control of yourself? You mean you'll kill me if I don't do something?)
(Yes…to…both…questions… You…should…run!)
(Run! But-)
(Do…you…want…to…die?) She interrupted him.
(No.)
(…Well…if you…keep…playing…defensive…you…will!) She said.
(Fine. But who are you.)
(…My name…is…Scarlet…Neva… Neva…for…short… And…you?)
(My name is…) should he tell her, what did he have to lose? (Mewtwo.)
(…Run…Mewtwo!)
As Mewtwo fled he looked back, (I will find your sister and you! I swear!)
(…Go!)
Mewtwo fled, thoughts of how to find the two in his mind. He did not know how.
But he would find them. He memorized the number on the helicopter and landed on his roof and watched the area in which it was.
Meanwhile Neva tried to control herself. If she went after him there was no way he would escape. She had no orders as such so she was in some control. The fact that she had been able to talk to him, let alone in a private conversation, was astounding. She turned her back to his retreating form. She looked to her Boss. He looked triumphant.
"It's fleeing! Well Neva you've succeeded in your mission in proving your strength. Let's go back to the head-quarters."
So they did. Mewtwo watched the direction it was going in. South/south-east. It was tropic around that area in which they were heading. Tomorrow he would begin preparing for the trip. Then…he would go look.
Neva was now in control. As she sat down her thoughts turned to the male…Mewtwo was his name. What a strange name. Then again hers was a bit peculiar too. She looked out the window to the moon, knowing that when she got back, she would tell Morgan. She smiled at that thought. She wondered then how Morgan was doing on their pool…
Morgan looked at her work with a pleased and tired expression on her face. It was a nice oval shape, stretching from the middle of the room to the right side of the room looking in from the entrance. It was deep and cool. She saw amazement on the assistant's face when she looked at him. She had done better than most professional landscapers and architects he knew. He shook his head at this, when his cell phone rang. He answered it after carefully looking at who it was.
"Hello Boss…uh-huh…yes she did it…so it fled huh?…Okay. …See you in fifteen then." Click!
"Morgan, why don't you go swimming a bit then? It should come natural to you. Neva should be here in about fifteen minutes."
Morgan nodded. She flew up to close to the ceiling then dived. A huge splash appeared from about the middle of the pool. As Jake waited he just watched her. He was surprised at how little she had to come up for air. She could go five-ten minutes without air. Five minutes till they arrived…
Meanwhile Morgan was in bliss. It was as though she had been made to be in the water. She felt so light in it, and the cool water caressed her body and seemingly, mind.
The only thing uncomfortable was the lack of air. She had never felt the wind, but this was very close. But in the meantime…she could go on like this for hours. After all…her name meant 'from the sea'. She didn't know that but it was true. Morgan stopped swimming and just decided to float in the water. Then, the entrance opened. Morgan opened her eyes and saw Neva and the Boss there. Quickly, she floated above the pool and spun to dry herself. As she landed at the edge of the pool she could see the Boss and his assistant talking vigorously. They left after giving the pool and the two pokémon one more glance. Morgan then looked at Neva. She was looking at the pool in awe. Then a new look swept over her face. She floated up to Morgan in almost a 'run'.
(Morgan, you'll never believe what happened! There was this-)
(Slow down! What happened?)
(Okay…)
So Neva told her sister in full detail of the events that took place in her mission. Morgan listened calmly to her sister with her arms crossed. This was very interesting. A male. After remembering what this creature…Mewtwo…had said she began to realize some things. Or else she had some theories.
(What I don't understand Morgan, is why he said 'how are you even here'. That made no sense what so ever. He can't have known us…we were created…there's a lot I don't understand. Why did he say 'so that is what happened that night'? I don't get it.)
(Neva…I think maybe…our species is very rare. He's probably not used to seeing others of his species. Perhaps we are off the legendary pokémon?)
(I guess it would sort of explain that first thing he said. But what about the second?)
(Neva…I have some things to tell you…)
