CHAPTER 20: THE TRUTH
(What are you saying?) Asked Neva.
(There are some things…I didn't tell you. I intended to figure it all out before this but…)
(Morgan, tell me.)
(Technically we WERE created Neva. But I heard that we were cloned as well. We must have been cloned from…him. They must have taken blood from him some night five months ago.)
(But…why?)
(I'm not sure. I can't figure that part out.)
(…You said there were some things to tell me. That's one. What the other?)
(Neva…)
Morgan told her about the chip in her brain. The horror of it shone on her face.
That night…it all came back now. The wisps of conversation she had heard…the pain in the back of her skull… What was she to do? There had to be a way…
(…Morgan…GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!)
(Is there another reason for your reaction, besides the wish to be in control of yourself all the time, that I should know about?)
(Morgan…Mewtwo said he was going to…find us. I think he wants to free us. What if he comes…and I'm ordered to stay…or kill you two.)
(…Crap. You should have told me this sooner…okay; we need to get it out of your brain. How?)
(Umm…maybe we should ask our creators?) (No. We'll have to do it ourselves…)
(…)
(It'll be fine Neva. I can do this!)
(Morgan, we're talking my BRAIN here. If something goes wrong, I could be permanently scarred from it.)
(…Do you trust me?)
(Of course I do.) Said Neva.
(Then trust me to do this! Let's go into our room though; I don't wish anyone to see what we're doing.)
(Good idea.)
So they went in their room. Neva, after sitting down, watched Morgan get a bunch of sharp knives with unease. Morgan however, wondered how she was going to get a hole in Neva's skull. First though, she would need to get Neva asleep. She didn't want her sister to feel pain.
(Neva, I'm going to use Hypnosis on you. Are you sure you want to do this?)
(No…but I trust you.)
(Okay…Hypnosis!)
With that Neva fell to sleep. Now hopefully she wouldn't mess this up. Carefully she sketched the knife along the scar on Neva's head and slowly opened it up. Washing away the blood with the wet towel she quickly looked for the next tool. Then she realized it.
(Crap. I forgot the drill. Too late to find one now. Perhaps I can find that fake bone and wedge it out of there…)
That's what she did. After locating it she quickly used her psychic powers to edge it out. This was harder then it looked since it had already begun to attach to real bone. First she had to make a somewhat of a cut around the edges, and then pull it out. Then Morgan looked into Neva's skull.
Now another problem faced her. Morgan could not see the chip anywhere! It was INSIDE Neva's brain. Maybe she could use her abilities to locate it. She tried, only to find it wedged between two 'pieces' of Neva's brain. The good news was that she could easily get it out with her powers of kinetics. The bad news was that she'd have to disturb the brain to do this, in so, risking Neva. But she had to try…
Slowly, she tugged it with her powers. To her relief it began to ease out. She began to pull a bit harder. It got caught on a bit of brain. In fear she pushed it back and tried again, slower. Soon, she could see the edge of the chip coming out of the brain tissue. Quickly she pulled it out and it flew into her outstretched hand, without disturbing the brain. She crushed it…
Now to heal Neva. She placed in again the fake bone. Using her powers, she attached the real, growing, bone to the fake, leaving it like it was before. Then she closed the scalp/skin or Neva's back of head and used Recover. The cut once again healed up to leave that profound white scar, now faded to the least bit red. Satisfied, Morgan gently woke her up.
Morgan was not expecting for Neva to start screaming her head off though. Trying to calm her down she faintly heard a catch of what she was saying.
(….it hurts! But…is gone!…got to calm down…)
Soon the screaming faded away, and though a look of pain was still on her face, Neva looked up at Morgan and smiled.
(Order me to do something. Now!)
(Neva, I want you to go do the dishes. Now!)
(Too bad… Are they really piling up like that?)
(Yes.)
(Do you want to do them?)
(No.)
(Fine, I'll do them anyways. This is great. I won't have to-)
(Yes you will. If not they'll do the same to you again, and this time they might do it to me too. Neva, you have to act like you can still be controlled. Or when the time comes…no one's going to escape…)
