CHAPTER 23: VISION

The three Mewtwo's studded to a halt. A group of humans, headed by their leader Mr. Alexander stood in front of them. Now they could have easily taken on these humans except for one slight problem: the humans had guns. Technically even that didn't pose such a threat. Of course though they didn't have much time to think about stopping the bullets before they fired. Not enough time to get defenses up… Morgan and Mewtwo dodged the bullets with ease, but Neva being in front was not so lucky. She was hit several times. After the group ceased fire Morgan and Mewtwo ran up to her. She was unconscious, and her breathing, shallow. As they scanned her quickly they saw two bullets wounds in her left leg, one also in her right leg and shoulder. But the race had been made strong, to survive even the worst of circumstances. She would live, and if she healed correctly there would be no lasting damage. The two quickly closed the wounds so she would not bleed to death. Quickly picking Neva up in his arms, Mewtwo floated above the ground. He looked at Morgan below and wondered why she had not followed. Then he heard a piecing scream from her.

(WHY DID YOU SHOOT US? YOU HUMANS ARE SUCH-)

"Now, now Morgan no need to get nasty. I just didn't want you to escape that's all. We only wanted to shoot you so you were incapable of movement. Is that so wrong?"

(It is…) but this time the voice was not Morgan's, but Neva's. She was awake.

Suddenly rolling out of Mewtwo's arms she floated down. Limping to Morgan's side she leaned to her sister. It was taking her strength to do this but she had to get her point across…

(You hid the world from us…imprisoned us so we could not know any better of what our life could be. When you let me catch a glimpse of that world you made a mistake. You know that. You furthered it by allowing me to meet another of my species that I knew nothing about. But now you shoot us…hurt us more. There is no reason that we should stay here now. Now that we know more… I will leave, and live my life the way I choose. No matter how many bullets you threaten me with. You cannot stop me…)

"Are you sure Neva? With one order I could have you reopen your own wounds and bleed to death. I can make you turn on those two without a second thought… If you don't drag yourself here right now I will. Come!"

But Neva did nothing. She just stood there giving him an expressionless face. Mewtwo had come back down from the air and was now beside her. Many thoughts flowed through Alexander's head just then, while surprise crossed his face. How was it possible that she resisted when that chip was there? Did it malfunction, or did those devils get it out themselves? But now was not the time to wonder. He had to do something. But what…?

Then he had it.

"Prepare the E cage!"

(Morgan, what is an E cage?) Asked Neva.

(I've heard of it but I can't seem to remember…I think we should run though!)

Though just when she said this they found out exactly what it was. Threw the dirt beneath them it erupted. As the dust cleared the found a cage around them, fairly large in size. Then of course it became apparent just why it had been called an E cage. E stood for electric in this case. This somewhat amused Mewtwo though. Surely the humans did not think that this would hold them?

Obviously they did though. Then the next order was given…they were about to find out that this seemingly harmless cage was in fact the opposite. Electricity flashed all around them, giving them painful jolts that made it extremely difficult to use their powers. Neva was perhaps having the worst time since her wounds reopened and she was getting directly shocked from her bloodstreams. It became clear that she wouldn't last much longer. Mewtwo, being the strongest of them could stand out for a while, but this torture reminded him a lot of when he had been in the clutches of Giovanni at Mt.

Keyna. This only made him angrier…

Something was happening to Morgan, that in their pain the other two did not notice. She was of course in this pain as well…but it seemed that it was happening at a distance. The pain was a dull ache for her…

But that's not what she was noticing at that moment. Her vision was darkening…was she dying? No…the darkness was clearing. But wait…this wasn't the cage. Where was she? The area was beautiful…it seemed to be some kind of lake with a beautiful island in it. Then she saw them.

She realized then that this was a vision of the future. It's very rare, almost never heard of, to have a vision of such clarity. This was not an 'if' or near future…but it would happen nonetheless. Those was insured…but wait…

This WAS a possible future. Then she saw the other one. It was terrible… She realized with horror that SHE was the one to choose which way the future would be. One was a terrible future that they lived in slavery all of them, neither free nor happy. The other…was a happy one.

But one that she was not in…she knew what she had to do…
