CHAPTER 25: FUNERAL

The pokémon of the forest uneasily crept out of the forest and into the great clearing that was now there. The explosion had been loud, very bright, and huge. But that wasn't what was on the minds of those pokémon. It was the cause of this explosion that many thought upon. They knew they should honor the creature…Morgan…but how? As they looked and walked upon the place that now held no sign of the building and humans. But some noticed that the spot that Morgan had stood was elevated.

Slowking, though, was the one that came up with the answer. In the morning he told them.

"We should make this place into a lake! Morgan means 'from the sea' so I think that would be appropriate. What do you think?"

The others yelled in unison and began the work. Water pokémon began to fill the shallow area with their own elemental water, while the grass pokémon used their powers to cover the bank and island with a blanket of grass; making it blend in with the forest.

Soon that work was done…but to them something seemed missing. Noctowl, figured it out. So then they began their new work…to plant and grow a great willow tree for Morgan in the middle of the island. When the work was done, the pokémon lined up on the side of the shores with bowed heads and prayed for Morgan, and the other two.

Over the next few months passing pokémon heard the stories and when on the shores of the lake, bowed their heads in honor and gratitude. Grass and water pokémon alike came to give their energy to the tree, and water to the lake. Soon the lake was full and the willow a strong, young sapling. And even though the pokémon did not like it, a few humans came as well. It was until the humans tried to cross the lake to get on the island did the pokémon react with anger. The pokémon drove the humans away from the lake and did so again many times. Three pokémon decided to guard the lake at all times from them, until the humans stopped coming. They were Slowking, Ninetales, and Noctowl, who were later named the Guardians of Morgan's Lake. And they would let no one, NO ONE; visit the island unless it was the other two, Mewtwo and Neva. But so far they had not been seen…

It was later though that everyone was surprised. The pokémon began to notice that small blue flowers were beginning to bloom there. Everyone claimed to not have planted them, and accepted it as another gift from Morgan.

Over the next months some pokémon claimed to see a strange blue pokémon on the island, but when they looked again the creature had vanished. What was amazing was none of these pokémon had ever heard the story. The Guardians smiled with amusement, knowing better, knowing that Morgan was dead. It was a nice thought however, that Morgan's spirit, just maybe, visited the island…

While the lake was being made months back in time, the four scientists who created Morgan and Neva were having a little vacation. They had left before the incident and so far knew nothing of it. While Mary was in the kitchen with Mark making supper, John and Bob were going through the channels trying to find something to watch. There was nothing on really, no good news shows, no horror movies, nothing. John was just about to tell the bad news to Mary and Mark when Bob told him to go back a few channels. He did, only to see another news show. He was about to ask Bob what the heck was so interesting about this when he heard something that made him twist his head around so fast that he got a crick in his neck. Listening a bit while rubbing his neck he called for Mary and Mark to come quick. They did…

"What is it?" asked Mary. "Listen." Told John.

"- the area you're looking at right now used to be the supposed headquarters of Team Terror. Though police have searched the building a number of times they could find nothing that proved this. But as you can now see the building is gone. Locals say that an hour ago this entire area exploded, killing all the people that resided in the building, and destroying the building itself. Officials think that the explosion was caused by a leakage in the fuel pipes, which caught fire and exploded the main tank. Here's a distant video clip that a pokémon watcher that happened to be in a near area took:

The video at first started out by looking over the forest from a cliff one would guess. After a loud bang, it turns to the building below. Something (probably debris) shot past at a great speed. Then, the building exploded. It wasn't a small explosion. It wasn't a regular explosion. It was HUGE! Huge enough that the person taking this picture begins to run away from it as for as he can. But that's not what the scientists were surprised at. It was that right before he turned that they noticed the explosion was blue. Blue…Morgan…

The video clip ended…

"When locals went to investigate they found a group of pokémon busily working. You can see the results behind me. Where once a building was is now a lake, with a small island. That's all for today-"

Bob shut it off. They sat in stunned silence until Mary smelled smoke from the kitchen. Quickly cursing, she grabbed Mark and led him back into the kitchen. Bob and John looked with a nervous smile to each other.

"I guess we're out of the job, eh Bob?"

"It would seem so…you know…I never liked that job anyway. Praise for Morgan!"

"Right at that."
