CHAPTER 34: STIRRINGS
He awoke the next evening, to the sound of rain drumming down against the building, something as soothing as the scented candles he'd lit the night previous. Small, tangy whiffs of them still lingered in the air near him. Getting up, he shivered, the chilled air making his form, warmed from the blankets, cold. Opening the door to his room, he remained silent, seeing Neva's door open. His eyebrow rose at that. Where…? He began to sense around, finding her not in the building. He instantly felt a shock go through him. Had she gone outside, despite his warning?!
Vaguely, he recalled grabbing a towel before darting over to the exit onto the roof. Opening the door, the pale bluish gray light from the outside filtered in, momentarily hurting his eyes, which had been adjusted to the dim light inside. His sharp gaze scanned the area, looking for a trace of his companion. He did not want to go out into the pouring rain though…despite how he liked the power of a storm; he had no desire to get wet. The towel too, would be soaked.
His eyes suddenly caught on a figure near the edge of the roof, the trees and grasses scare around it. He breathed a sigh of relief. Neva…there she was. Not being very far from her, he could see that her eyes were closed in what seemed to be enjoyment, her face tilted towards the heavens.
Her arms were at her sides, palms up on her paws, a bit lifted away from her body. The low clouds around were being cut by the buildings and skyscrapers, creating a somewhat mystical scene. Mewtwo gulped, feeling a type of longing course through him as he watched tiny, crystal beads of water running down her back, her sides… She was startlingly beautiful…even if her sister had surpassed her in that area. But still, the desire to run his hands down her slender, wet form…
He mentally slapped himself for those thoughts. Why did he continue to think things so very disgusting and wrong? He sighed, the noise not being heard by Neva over the falling rain. As the downpour began to cease, lighten, the clouds moving away, Neva opened her eyes, their depths shinning with peace. It was an image, which sent confused emotions through Mewtwo. She looked angelic…despite how much some might disagree…
Momentarily entranced, he did not notice that Neva was expanding her senses to have a better understanding of all that was around her. Her eyes widened as she became aware of Mewtwo's presence, the rain having stopped now. She half turned around to face him, seeing the way he was looking at her, with marvel, before the expression changed to surprise. It gave her a warm feeling in her chest, to understand that it was a good way that he was gazing at her, and not as though he didn't like her form. For a moment, a blush crossed her face at the thought, but went unnoticed by Mewtwo. She quickly called to him after a moment of silence, explaining herself. (I've never…felt the rain before.)
Mewtwo began to walk over to her in response, reaching her after a few seconds, (Here…you'll freeze if you stay wet as you are.) he told, placing the towel around her shoulders, letting his paws rest there.
(Thanks…)
Neva gently took the edges of the material in her paws, wrapping it around herself more fully. It only covered her till about where her ribs ended, but that was fine. She looked up, giving Mewtwo a grateful look, enjoying the warmth that came from the towel, and his paws. She looked up to where the sun, white in color, shone through the breaking clouds, a smile forming on the face. Mewtwo looked up, seeing the exact same thing.
A rainbow… Neva had never witnessed one before, though her psychic intuition told her how it was created. Still, it was extremely pretty…how she wished that her sister was here, to see it.
Having grieved, cried already though, she did not shed a tear, no matter how welcome that might have been. Instead, she leaned back against Mewtwo, to wishing to take comfort in what she had… Him…
Mewtwo was faintly surprised at the action, and looked down at her with the emotion in his eyes. But, after a moment, he merely smiled, gazing up at the rainbow again along with her… It was a good omen…and it was a fine thing, too she Neva's bright expression…
A few hours later, night having fallen, Neva remained awake, flipping through a variety of channels on the television. Mewtwo, biting into a juicy fruit, did not notice what she stopped at. He did not like TV much himself, instead preferring a good old book. But Neva was eager to learn more about the world around her, hungered for it. This was a quick way…though she kept it in mind that most shows were fictional, usually sticking to the news or documentaries. In the past hour she'd been absorbing information from various reports and such, the knowledge soaking up into her mind like a sponge would water. Still, this show…it confused her.
Mewtwo, coming out of the kitchen, nearly dropped the fruit he was holding as he saw what she was watching. She had her finger poised to change the channel, but seemed to be intrigued by what she was watched, though more so perplexed. Tearing her eyes slowly away from the screen, the small soft moans being ignored by her, she looked at Mewtwo in question.
(What exactly…is this?) She asked.
Mewtwo had a difficulty believing that Neva didn't understand what she was watching. Surely, her intuition told her? (Do you honestly…not know?)
She cocked her head, (From what I understand these humans are mating…but…I don't comprehend…why. They do not seem to be wishing to have offspring…so why go into such uncomfortable looking positions, if that is so? It doesn't make sense to me…)
Mewtwo did not wish to speak on this subject. Not only was it something that he didn't feel right discussing, but it was something he had zero experience in. How was he to explain such things to this female, whom, frankly, attracted him in such a way? It was preposterous! Seeing Neva's questioning gaze, he mentally shook himself. It was not as though sex bothered him…it was perfectly natural and needed in the progression of a species. It did not embarrass him as it did with some others. He flicked the TV off psychically, receiving a confused look from his companion.
(Some just mate for the pleasure of it. If you really want to know more, I don't suggest watching THAT. It will only pervert your mind…read a book on reproduction if you must. I believe there are a few scientific volumes on the shelf over there that refer to it…) he stated in monotone, waving a hand at the bookshelf on the wall next to the screen. Neva gave him an odd look at his actions, (You've never…)
(No, I haven't. If you have need of me, I'll be in the gym downstairs.)
Mewtwo quickly left her be, not wanting to even think about where that discussion might have led. He vaguely saw her get up off the couch out of the corner of his eye before he exited into the stairway. Passing the second story door, he stopped at ground level, entering the vast first floor. In the center of the massive room was a moderately sized pool, a smaller one at its side. He didn't even glance at the spa, never having liked hot water. It clouded the mind, made one sluggish… He instead crossed over to the other side of the room, seeing the weight equipment there. He had no desire to think now…physical activity usually managed to block out any unwanted emotions or thoughts… He climbed into the seat of one, setting the weights at a couple hundred pounds…that would do for now. Reaching up to grab the bar, he began to pull…
Meanwhile, Neva was reading quickly through a number of books, absorbing the information in them. It was not as though she didn't already know about mating and such. However, she didn't have a full understanding of it either. As she began to grow bored though, she turned the television back on, watching the various activities that the human couple engaged in. This did not make her embarrassed however, or aroused in any manner. She'd never experienced such things… It was only when thinking of herself participating in sex that she felt her face heat. For some reason, beyond her understanding, her partner always seemed to be a particular violet feline in such imaginings. She shook her head vigorously then, turning the screen off. Snapping the book in her hands shut, she got up quickly from her seat. She shouldn't think like that…it was…inappropriate to put it mildly!
Still, as much as she tried though, such images wouldn't fade. She cursed quietly. Perhaps Mewtwo had been right. Perhaps…porn would pervert the mind. She went down the staircase she'd seen Mewtwo go through earlier. Maybe there'd be something to take her mind off such things in the gym. Perhaps Mewtwo had a pool…she'd liked to swim. Just as her sister had, she enjoyed the activity. She paused shortly at the second story door. The room inside was dark, hardly to be seen through the translucent window. She shook her head, deciding to skip it.
She had promised Mewtwo she wouldn't go in there…
Silently, she opened the door to the lighted gym, her eyes scanning the area in surprise. Nearest to her were various places for towels, hampers of them, mats for stretches, etc. On one side of the startlingly clear pool were dumbbells, various weights, and to the other bars elevated bars that were used in gymnastics. She tried imaging Mewtwo doing various moves upon them…she kept silent her insane laughter. To the other side of the room though were various machines, there uses various for whatever muscle that needed toning. Neva felt herself flush though, as her sights came upon Mewtwo. She gulped, keeping to the shadows, watching him.
In the half an hour she'd been upstairs, Mewtwo had managed to work up a sweat, his form somewhat shinning with it. It became apparent to Neva, as he worked out, that he was in prime shape. Unlike usual, when he was more relaxed, his well-toned muscles were evident, pronounced. Neva felt an odd heat begin to rise in her chest, watching him. Seeing him suddenly get up, she felt oddly panicked, and teleported back upstairs into her room.
Whether Mewtwo had seen her or not honestly didn't matter…she quickly realized, from the images flashing through her head, that it wasn't the least bit safe for her to be around him at the moment. The desire to simply thrown herself at him was one she quickly pounded down to repress…hopefully, by the time Mewtwo got upstairs, it would be gone. She didn't even want to think, of where such stirrings might lead…
