CHAPTER 35: UNWELCOME VISITORS

In the time that soon passed, Mewtwo and Neva both did manage to suppress the physical desires they had for each other, as hard as it was at first. Neither wanted the other to know that such inappropriate things were going through their heads. Fortunately, though, there was a lot of other things that each could speak of. Mewtwo found himself interested in the perished Morgan, and despite how hesitant Neva was at first, she found herself becoming more comfortable with speaking about her as time went on. What had once been an overwhelming pain seemed to subside more and more into a dull ache the more she spoke of her sister. And Mewtwo was all ears to hear about the sapphire feline.

(She always seemed like more of a big sister to me than a twin. And she always happened to be more insightful than I, when concerning some things. More powerful…and prettier I suppose. Though that never really bothered me.) Neva told.

Mewtwo, resting his chin on his interlocked fingers, smiled, (It is good to know you were never jealous of her. Though I don't have any siblings, I can only image how it must have been to have one. You two probably had as many fun times as bad I suppose.)

Neva nodded, (We had to fight a lot of the time…any times we could just play were treasured… Anyway, it's too bad you never got to experience such things. Your parents never thought of having another child?)

Mewtwo thought on this, (Yes…but the babes died before their birth. I was the only one to survive…) he told, thinking of Amber(two), Charmandertwo, Bulbasaurtwo, and Squirtletwo.

(I'm sorry to hear that…what about others like us? Didn't you get a chance to have a little fun with them during your childhood?) She questioned.

Mewtwo felt caught off guard. How was he to respond to that? To his knowledge, there were no others like Neva and himself. And his views were accurate, he was certain of that. There was only the slimmest chance that he could be wrong…too little to be taken as a possibility. But he could not lie to her, again.

(No…Neva, if there are any others of our kind out there, I am unaware of their existence. I had thought myself to be the only one of my kind, before you came to this city to fight me. Morgan and you…are, to put it lightly, impossibilities. That is mainly why I wished to find you, besides to free you from those humans…) he told honestly, wondering how Neva would react.

She absorbed it slowly, the look she was giving him one of shock, (So, now that Morgan's gone…we're the only ones of our species?)

He nodded, (That is my belief, yes.)

Neva sunk into her chair, feeling overwhelmed. They were the only two…what did that mean exactly? That there was no hope for their kind, that they were already extinct? She felt that, with this knowledge, that a great weight had been dropped onto her. Now, more than ever, did the gender difference between the two of them sink in. They could…to continue their race they might have to…

(Neva? Neva, are you all right?) Mewtwo's voice brought her outs of her thoughts, but not from the shock.

(…So, basically, we're responsible for the continuation of our species?)

Mewtwo jerked away at the sudden question, (WHAT?! No, that's not what I was getting at, at all! Simply because we're the only members of our kind doesn't mean I expect, or even want you, to suddenly submit to me and become a baby-producing machine! No!)

She gave him a very weak smile, (Yeah, but technically it might come to something of the sort. After all, your male, I'm female, there's no one else we can mate with…)

(Stop talking like that. Unlike humans, we can breed with other species of pokémon. It's not unheard of. You met my friends Rhyhorn and Nidoqueen, you know that! We do not have to become mates. We don't even have to have a mate!) He stated, crossing his arms.

(Uh-huh, and the way you were looking at my sister when you first saw her, makes it completely clear that you'd be willing to get laid with a Gardevoir instead of one of your own kind?) She shot back with an edge of sarcasm.

(What exactly are you trying to say?) Mewtwo asked angrily, (That I'd choose y-)

"MEW!" greeted a voice suddenly from out of nowhere, "Hello!"

It was probably a good thing that the argument was interrupted where it was. Things had already begun to get nasty, and to continue would have only left one of them hurt. But the interruption was not what either could have predicted. Mewtwo's head swiveled to the side where the noise had come from, an almost horrified look on his face. Neva however, was looking at the being in pure shock.

Mew, another of Mewtwo's old friends, had teleported in out of nowhere. The bright pink kitten, her long ropelike tail twirling around her along with her small body, smiled widely at the two.

Her light blue eyes registered with surprise though as she spotted Neva, but inwardly laughed. She had known of the female's existence, since the moment she'd awakened along with her sister. It would have only been a matter of time, before Mewtwo found the two, she had theorized. This had been proven true…even though it saddened her to see that the sister had not made it.

(Where did you come from?) Mewtwo asked, mouth agape.

"Mew. Mew, memew, me mew mew!" she answered happily, "I'd just thought I'd drop in and check up on things. And look, I brought a friend along!"

Mewtwo watched in growing horror as the kitten teleported in a rather familiar creature. Inwardly, he groaned. Her long, white and green flowing form, the splashes of pink...only Mew would dare bring her here. Mew had been the one to introduce them actually, just after he'd left Mt. Quena. She had said she thought it about time he acquired a mate…and thought she'd found the perfect match. Of course, he'd been appalled by the idea…and even more so by the one Mew had thought would do him good. And now she was here! Hell had been brought to earth!

"Gardevoir! Garde!" she slender figure suddenly shouted, and Mewtwo quickly found himself being chocked by the strangling embrace that was being dealt to him, "Mewtwo! I missed you!"

Neva was watching the entire scene, not being able to believe her eyes. No one had seemed to truly notice her presence in light of what was happening, but she was certainly noticing them. She wasn't actually amazed by Mew's being there, the origin of all pokémon, the ancestral being. No, her mind was on a completely different person. The Gardevoir, who was currently trying to get a kiss out of the struggling Mewtwo. As the dancing pokémon gave up, instead dealing him a pleasant kiss on the cheek, Neva bristled with rage. For some reason, she felt only growing hate for the pokémon. She stood up, glaring at her, arms crossed. In her anger, she didn't even notice that Mewtwo was trying to throw her off him. He was just as guilty, in her views…

"Mew mew. Mew mewme." Announced Mew with a wide smile, "That's enough now Lila. I need to talk to Mewtwo right now, okay?"

"Ga…garde gardevoir!" Lila reluctantly let go of Mewtwo, disappointed, "Fine…but I'll be back for you later Mewtwo!" She promised, again not noticed Neva's bristle.

"Gardevoir, garde, garde!" She suddenly spotted Neva, swooping to her, "You know Mewtwo well don't you? You're his roommate, right? Tell me some things about him with me! Like what he likes to do! I want tips!"

Neva leaned away from her, whether in anger or the fact that she was invading her personal space was unknown, (I really wouldn't know…and even if I did, I wouldn't give advice to a flirty slut like you!) she hissed venomously. While she was startled at the words that came out of her telepathy, she fully meant them. She gave a small growl and turned around, stomping off into her room. It astounded Mewtwo, that she didn't slam her door close.

The three seemed stunned into silence, (Huh…Neva's usually a very pleasant person.) Mewtwo murmured quietly.

Meanwhile, inside her room, Neva seethed silently. Arms tightly crossed, she muttered a stream of vile curses under her breath, wishing Lila to hell. She blinked, suddenly realizing where her train of thought was. What…? Why would she want something like that? It was not as though the female had done anything to her. All she had done was throw herself at Mewtwo, flirt with him…and why the hell should she care about something like that?

As the answer hit her, she found herself in disbelief. (No…I can't…be jealous of Lila could I?) She questioned herself.

Surely, that wasn't the case! She didn't…fancy Mewtwo…did she? Yes, he might have a nice body, genuinely kind personality…but that shouldn't create a crush! After all, they were friends, roommates for god's sake! But thinking more on that, she realized that theory was officially debunked. Perhaps it wasn't love…but it was true. She was jealous…and all too angry with Lila for doing what she'd done, and was quite possibly doing at this moment. The idea put a sour taste in her mouth…

Over the past ten minutes Neva had stewed, Mewtwo himself was feeling immensely agitated. While it was nice, to catch up with Mew; having the creature that'd taken him weeks to get away from some years previous, hanging off him, was not a pleasant thing in the least. Why, why, had Mew brought her here?

"Mew memew memew." Mew brought them back to the earlier 'subject' suddenly, "What I don't see is why you reject poor Lila here. She's nice; pretty…she'd do you some good! I mean, you've never actually given us a good reason why you won't be a male and have at her."

The clone found himself leaning away from the centuries-of-years-old kitten in response to that, (Mew when concerning this subject you lose your innocence, do you realize that? I much prefer your playful mood than your pushing one.) Mewtwo commented.

"Mew…" she said, "That's not an answer…"

Mewtwo glanced at Lila, seeing the interested expression on her face. She too, desired to know why he fought her. She always assumed he was simply playing hard to get. The feline reluctantly answered after a moment of their staring, (Well…while she is beautiful,) Lila beamed at this before he continued; (I do not like her in that manner.)

Mew and Lila glanced at each other, coming to an identical answer.

"Mew me mew mew." Mew responded to that stubbornly, "That's no excuse. If you tried, you would find that she's perfect for you. It's only because you keep refusing her that she has to go to such lengths. I dearly hope that isn't your only reason."

Mewtwo mind raced for something to say. Normally, Mew might have taken that answer all right, considering she preferred what the heart felt to anything else. If Mewtwo didn't like whom she'd thought he would, she would be fine with that. But Mew had grown stubborn when considering this subject. She had tried finding Mewtwo a mate before, convinced he needed one. And Lila was now the female she stuck to, much to the clone's dismay… What else was he to say? He couldn't think of anything! He spoke the first thing that came to his mind, for once not thinking before he spit out an answer.

(I am already involved with someone.)

He instantly wished he could take it back. It was a lie, and a weak one at that. He put up various mental shields, making sure Mew didn't probe his mind for the truth in that statement. He cursed at himself privately. How could he have said such a thing?

"Mew?" asked the pink kitten, cocking her head in surprise, "Oh? Who?" Lila seemed to want to know as well. Surely, he wasn't telling the truth?

Mewtwo, not knowing how to respond, blurted out the first name that came to his mind, (Neva.)

IDIOT, his brain screamed at him. 'Neva'? Of all the moronic things to have said, all the names…though in a freakish way, it made sense. She was the only other person who lived in his home…it brought some credibility. But still…Neva? She would obliterate him when she found out. He inwardly cursed at himself a thousand times over, keeping a straight face on. Lila was the first to react.

"Garde? Gardevoir? Gar!" she shouted, rising from her seat, "That devil? Why would you choose her? She has such a temper!"

(Which you managed to invoke.) He countered at her, feeling oddly protective of his roommate.

"Memew…mew." Mew said with realization, "So that's why she was so angry…I did wonder."

(Well, now that that's settled…I really must go check up on her. You quite upset her earlier Lila.) He dismissed himself quickly, getting up. He almost prayed she wouldn't be furious…

"Mew mew?" said Mew amusedly, "No, we wouldn't want her to be angry now would we Mewtwo?"

Mewtwo ignored the somewhat suggestive comment, quickly crossing over to Neva's bedroom door. He sighed, and began to turn the metal knob…

Neva, now lying on her bed, opened one eye when she heard her door open. She sat up quickly as she saw it was Mewtwo, who hurriedly closed the door behind him. He seemed…nervous about something…

(Neva, please don't be angry with me.) He pleaded before she could get a chance to say anything.

(What? Why, why would I…Mewtwo what did you say?!) She questioned loudly, though kept with Mewtwo's private thought-speech at his expression.

(Mew and Lila are now under the belief that you and I…are mates.)

Neva blinked, the words sinking in sluggishly, (You told them that we…you MORON!) She shouted as it hit her.

Mewtwo ignored the insult, deciding it was deserved, (Please, be quiet… You must understand I couldn't think of anything else to say! It took me over a month to get that female away from me that last time! Normally even Mew would be horrid, but with Lila to add…I wasn't thinking clearly!)

(Well that's obvious-)

The doorknob suddenly began to turn, cutting the argument short. Before Neva knew precisely what was going on, she found Mewtwo sitting beside her, holding her tightly. Her eyes widened in shock, as Mewtwo quickly pressed his mouth against hers, not knowing how to react.

(What the hell do you think you're doing?) She hissed at him, bewildered.

Mewtwo didn't open his eyes to look at her, (Playing the role of the consoling male lover. Now please, humor me and ACT!)

As the door opened, Neva quickly closed her eyes, deciding to do as Mewtwo said. She gave a small moan as his paws stroked her back gently, racking her fingers down his chest… Whether it was planned or not the kiss quickly became more full, tongues set to work. Evidently, these actions were enough to convince Mew and Lila, who were peering through the doorway, and the entrance to the room quickly shut.

Mewtwo broke away from her so quickly that Neva nearly fell off her bed. She felt momentarily dazed, a bit light headed…part of her had immensely enjoyed that, she would realize after thinking about it several times. Mewtwo stood, gazing at the doorway, as though expecting it to open again. He looked back at her quickly, seeing her semi-stunned expression. (If you wish, you can slap me later for that.) He offered her.

She shook her head quickly, (That's okay…as long as you don't do it again.)

He sighed, (I might have to…I mean, I shall attempt to make them leave as soon as possible…but it is quite likely that they'll wish to stay at least one night.)

(Oh, god I hope not…) Neva murmured, lying back down on her bed.

After a few more minutes, Mewtwo left, leaving Neva alone for 'some time to think on things'. In the hours that passed, Neva promptly decided to skip eating, not wanting to have to face Lila again, especially with it "confirmed" that she and Mewtwo were "involved". She could go without a meal… When Mewtwo later returned, he announced that their visitors, or Mew at least, needed more convincing. Apparently, the mystic thought it strange that Neva neither came to dine with her mate, nor shared a room with him.

(So what do you want me to do about that?) Neva asked, annoyed at both Mewtwo and Mew.

Mewtwo donned a sly smile on his face, (Nothing really…just simply moan occasionally, move about on your bed. That should be credible enough.)

Neva blinked, (You want me to pretend to be having sex with you?) she laid out bluntly. (What do amours do better?) He chuckled, Neva not finding it as humorous as he.

After a while though, Neva also began to find the entire situation funny. Mewtwo was trying nearly hopelessly to make a female leave him alone, one who was completely obsessed with him. And Mew, whom was trying to stubbornly push the two together, was seeing right through his little plot, despite how he tried to make it believable. And his only hope in the entire mess was her…someone who had, though he wasn't aware of it, taken a liking to him herself.

(I feel sort of bad for them.) Neva announced suddenly, in private telepathy. It was the only way they were allowing themselves speak, in case someone was, sickeningly enough to think, eavesdropping on them.

(And why's that?) Mewtwo asked, who was lying next to her on the bed.

(Well, Lila, as annoying as she is, had her hopes up in getting a handsome, kind mate.) Mewtwo looked at her in surprise as she complimented him, (And Mew has been trying so hard to find you love, and now, as they see it, you've found someone all by yourself. It would make her efforts seem pretty pointless, don't you think?)

(Perhaps…but she simply will not see that I don't need a mate.)

(Do you want one though?) Neva questioned, hiding her genuine interest.

(No.) Mewtwo answered.

Neva felt disappointed at that, but she didn't let it show. She quietly let out a moan, the way she was supposed to occasionally, mimicking some of the sounds given off by the actors in the porn show she'd witnessed briefly. She was getting good at it, disgustingly enough. She frowned with distaste.

(How long do I have to keep doing this?)

(Another five minutes maybe…it would be appropriate for you to get more enthusiastic near the end of this charade. From how I understand it, climaxing will do that…) He made a vague reference, moving about on the bed a bit, hearing the springs creak. Neva had told him firmly earlier, that if she were going to make such ridiculous sounds, then he would have to make some sort of motion.

(Fine…) she agreed, suddenly enunciating a few chose words to the world that made Mewtwo raise an eyebrow. (I'm wondering how they're going to sleep with those words of encouragement ringing in their ears.) She commented afterwards, (You know, if you want to make this believable you should break your fricken silence Mewtwo. What guy doesn't groan during intercourse, will you answer me that?)

Mewtwo gave her a look, (Unlike you Neva, I have no idea how to make such convincing noises…you're scaring me a bit actually.)

Neva quickly countered that, sitting up and turning to face him, (Oh come on! You have a porn channel on your TV! You could have simply cut that out if you'd wanted.)

Mewtwo did not like what she was inferring, (I don't watch television all that much…and certainly not such sickening displays. I guess it's safe to assume that it's another matter for you however.)

Neva pulled away from him slightly, eyes wide at what he'd said, (Hell no! I was simply curious, that's all. But you did see at least a few minutes of that! You can mimic just as well as I can, I'm sure of it!)

Mewtwo refused once again. Neva, taking matters into her own paws, quickly pinned him down against the bed, ignoring his questions as to what she was doing. Silently, straddling him, she dipped her head down to his chest, giving him a series of quick kisses there, nuzzling his neck. She wasn't about to touch him in more private areas, but giving him a quick nip on the neck was enough to make him react. That, added to that fact that her hands were running down his skin, tracing various ridges. To Neva's satisfaction, her actions were rewarded with a small, husky moan.

(There…that wasn't so difficult now was it?) She teased with a grin, patting the side of his face.

As she got up off him, Mewtwo scowled at her. While he didn't want to admit it…he'd enjoyed that, which also disgusted him. She could invoke so many emotions and feeling in him…joy, anger, slyness, hesitance, sorrow, want…a tapestry of things no other single person could make him feel. She was truly a complex thing in his already complicated life…but a good thing, that he was certain…

Once the "climax" had ceased, they continued to spend most of the night talking, something they were growing more comfortable in doing as time went on. Soon however, Neva drifted off to dreamland, surprising since she hadn't had to deal with Mew and Lila as Mewtwo had.

Nonetheless, it gave him a sense of calm, to watch her sleep, sprawled out on her side. Her arms were kept close to her chest, as though in defense… Mewtwo silently turned to face her more fully, seeing her side rise and fall as she breathed. Not truly aware of what he was doing, he reached over to her after a moment, running the back of a paw over her cheek.

(Sweet dreams Neva…) he whispered, giving her a gentle kiss on the brow, before falling asleep himself…

The next morning, back in dining room, Mewtwo prepared to say goodbye to Mew, while Neva herself was making a point to ignore the visitors, instead eating breakfast ravenously since she'd skipped dinner the night before. As the pink cat quickly embraced her clone counterpart, Mewtwo awkwardly returned the gesture, smiling slightly. It was good to see Mew again…despite how annoying she could be.

"Mew mew mew." She murmured in his ear slyly, "You know Mewtwo, I quite enjoyed your little show last night. It was quite amusing."

Mewtwo's eyes widened, (What…?)

"Mew memew, me mew." She smiled gleefully at him, "Oh, I'm not upset you decided to fake your being mates with Neva…it was quite funny actually. She must be quite fond of you though, to do something so ridiculous for your sake." She stated, gazing over at Neva, who was, shockingly, talking to Lila.

Perhaps…, Mewtwo thought to himself, with a small smile. He wouldn't mind if she were…

Neva, however, not noticing the small exchange between her roommate and the ancient kitten, took a bite of the apple in her paw. While Lila was still a hyper being, she wasn't all that bad…in fact, with the news that Mewtwo was "taken", she seemed quite nice. But still, there was a certain flash in her eyes as she began to speak to Neva about the one she'd been targeting.

"Gardevoir? Garde!" she asked in a low voice, "Tell me, how is he in bed? Final question, I swear!"

Neva grinned, deciding to get back at Mewtwo once more for putting her through that "play", (Terrible.)

"Garde? Gar…" The female blinked, perplexed, "What…? But I heard you…erm…" Neva laughed, continuing the joke, (I only let on for his benefit.)

Lila seemed happy to hear that, thankfully, seemingly fully over the purple feline with that knowledge in mind. There would be others… Soon, the pokémon all said farewell to each other, and the two visitors vanished in a blink of an eye, leaving Mewtwo and Neva alone in the vast apartment. Before going into her room though, the reddish humanoid managed to catch the small smile that Mewtwo was giving her, and returned it… Perhaps, despite how arguing they had been throughout, the past day had only brought them closer…and to both, that was perfectly welcome.
