CHAPTER 43: BLESSINGS

The next two months were quick to pass. As Neva's due date came about, both excitement and nervousness filled the air of the household until it was difficult to breathe. The children, as though keen to be born, kicked and stirred frequently inside Neva, making the mates, and Mew, equally eager as well. Finally, the hours of waiting and complaining (mostly on Neva's part for her hurting back) ended, the female clone coming into labor.

Mew, being the midwife, hustled Mewtwo near Neva's head, insisting that he not see the sight of his own children coming from his mate. Mewtwo of course, thought that ridiculous, since he'd seen and touched every inch of Neva, and was eager to look upon his sons and daughter.

However, at the look that Mew was giving him, and the sharp grip Neva held on his paw, he decided it best to obey for once.

One might not have thought Mew to be able to carry a baby nearly as large as herself, but she somehow managed it, cleaning up the first child that Neva's contractions had pushed from her. She sighed tiredly as the child came, grimacing in the pain that continued to stab at her abdomen. However, as Mew quickly handed Mewtwo the bundled baby, she smiled, looking on the being inside with pure joy.

A boy, Mew had declared, who looked very much like his father, when concerning the color of skin, even though he seemed to have a feminine softness to his features. He also had Neva's ruby eyes. He gurgled happily in his father's arms, falling asleep within a few minutes. Looking upon him, sensing the aura that resembled a more intellectual mind, Mewtwo felt the urge to name him. He came up with a suitable one quickly. Gabriel… Neva agreed, touching the little guy's cheek. He certainly looked like an angel to her…

The next was also a boy, one who instead looked alike to his mother in coloring, had the hardness of Mewtwo's build in him, having Neva's eyes as well. Neva smiled widely, and said she wished to name him this time. She gave him the identity, Darien. The word meant various things, like "great one" and "good" in related names and otherwise.

The last to be born was of course, the daughter. She was smaller than her brothers were, and held all of Neva's features…save her eyes. She looked up at them with wide, amethyst irises, giving a small squeak as she was cleaned up and handed to Neva, whom had taken turns with holding Darien and Gabriel with Mewtwo the past few minutes. Her mother gently stroked her cheek, seeing the beautiful little girl blink back at her in response. Soon she, like her siblings, fell asleep comfortably in her parents' arms.

(What shall we can her, my love?) Neva asked, not knowing what to name the angelic creature in her arms. Their sons had been simple when concerning such a thing, for their personalities spoke volumes. But their daughter…oh, she could not think of a simple word to sum her up!

Mewtwo however, could. He smiled, speaking the name aloud, (Angelyn…does that not suit her?)

It meant "angelic beauty" in pokémon. Neva smiled, breathing out her response to that, (Yes it does…that's your name little one. Angelyn…)

Mew smiled at the parents, Mewtwo sitting on the bed slowly beside his mate, exchanging their children for the other to hold. Neva smiled happily, at the sons in her arms, while Mewtwo's expression equaled hers as he looked upon their daughter. The infants were all beautiful…adorable really. Like large kittens, ones which one couldn't seem to resist holding.

Mew had had children herself once, and knew the feelings of attachment and love that immediately bound the parents closer to their children than their blood ever could…

The five were a family…the one and only Mewtwo family. And speaking of such things, those babies were the first ever born Mewtwos…Mew felt her hope for them burst hot in her chest. Seeing Mewtwo and Neva kiss for a long moment, sighing of happiness afterwards, her smile widened, a giggle coming from her throat. Yes…it was the perfect picture…and she couldn't imagine a better fate for the two clones. Deeply in love, and from that, had been born three little angels…and with maybe more to come, later…

As Mew was thinking all this, Mewtwo looked down at his mate and children fondly, giving the first a kiss on the brow, (Maybe we should put Darien, Gabriel, and Angelyn in the nursery for now…you need to get some rest dearest.)

Neva's old room had been converted to the baby's room, because it was right next to Mewtwo's, and easy to access. The other bedrooms would be used later when their children outgrew infancy and being toddlers. For a time, their sons would stay in one room, Angelyn getting her own before them. The parents had made sure they knew they had space for them…and it had worked out conveniently. And if they someday had more children…well, they still had plenty of space.

Neva smiled at what Mewtwo had suggested, but made no move to release the infants in her arms, (I want to hold them for a little while longer…) she stated, nuzzling the two gently. They did not awaken, but stirred a bit in response…

Mewtwo didn't have the heart to argue, (Okay…a few more minutes. But then you really need to sleep! After all, you for a while, more than I, will have your work cut out for you.)

He was referring to the babies' feeding…mostly. Neva's breasts were already heavy with milk for the children, having hurt a bit when her pregnancy had progressed. Neva did not care however…she looked forward to giving them their first meals. She laughed at what Mewtwo had said though, grinning up at him.

(But THAT won't tire me out!) She exclaimed.

Mewtwo smiled, (Maybe so, but this surely has!) he stated, referring to the childbirth. He kissed her cheek gently then, and continued, (Besides…I'd like you to have energy to have you all to myself at times…)

Neva caught how his eyes twinkled, (Oh? Eager to start again, are you?)

Mewtwo gazed down at the children, his voice growing hushed, (After seeing these angels…? Of course…)

For a few more moments, Neva and Mewtwo gazed at the little babies they'd created, with their love. They were pure, beautiful, and brought more joy to them then they would have thought possible. That went the same for how much they meant to the couple... Neva looked up at Mewtwo, catching his eyes. The peaceful expression on her face, the happiness, even though she looked exhausted from bringing the beings into the world, made her seem more beautiful than ever before to him…

(So, is this the end of our adventures Mewtwo?) She asked quietly, holding the sleeping forms of Darien and Gabriel close. She didn't think she'd truly mind whatever the answer…

Mewtwo cradled Angelyn in one arm, curling another around his mate's shoulders, (No Neva…I suspect it's only the beginning…)
