Chapter 1 – Trouble In The Family
Months had passed and life in Coruscant went as normal as they tried. There were some arrested and some Imperial supporters were found a brought to justice, but the Senate knew that were still a lot of them out there and they knew the more were caught, the more they would came up with a plan and now more than ever they need to be with their eyes opened.
During the months, Leia's belly was getting bigger and bigger, which made her more tired, but the fact that she took Ines advice and started to swim, it helped a lot.
Ines and Luke was also tried to have another child, but so far it didn't happen, which was making Ines more and more upset and even a little obsessed with it, and for the past month, there were a little tension in the Skywalker house.
The students, had left to their summer vacations, and after make sure the Temple was fine, before they also leave to Naboo to spend the summer there, Ines was in her home, separate the kids clothes and put them on their luggage, because the whole family was about to leave there in a week, while the kids were in the living room, playing with Spots.
Surprisingly Luke and Ines were surprise how well the kids took care of Spots. Even R2 made sure the Loth Cat was safe from Lukey, the now 2 years old toddler, liked to pick the 7 months cat and walked around with it, which many times it was something that Spots didn't enjoy, especially if he was sleeping.
One thing they also discovered was, that Ani, was allergic to cats. The poor kid couldn't be around Spots too long, or he would start sneezing and rub his eyes and nose.
The door beep and pressing the button, it opened, and a 7 and half months pregnant Leia entered, with her hands on her kidney area.
Sitting on one of the couches, Leia let go a sign of relief, making Ines smiled. She knew that at this time of the pregnancy, how bad their back hurts, something that she thought she would be having, but so far she was not be able to conceived, which made her being moody for the past month.
"Hey," Leia said glaring at her. "Already doing the luggage for the vacations?"
"The sooner the better," Ines replied making Leia glare at her. She knew that Ines was not very happy lately.
"Still nothing?"
Ines looked back at her and shook her head.
"I don't think you need to be that upset. When it happens, happens."
"It is easy for you to say, look at you, with that big beautiful pregnant belly." Ines replied looking at her sister in law belly.
"Want to switch. I won't mind. At least my back and feet would stop hurting and I could sleep better, if your niece didn't kick all the time. She moves more than her twin brothers. And they were two inside me."
"You know when a baby moves to much in the womb, normally it means they are quiet. Ben kicked a lot and look at him. On the other hand, the twins and Lukey didn't kick much, and well look at them!" Ines giggled.
Leia nod and looked around.
"Where is Luke?"
"I think he went to Dex with your husband."
"Oh yeah. Pregnancy brain!" she rolled her eyes. "He told me he would be with Luke there before pick the boys at my mother's apartment!"
Dex Dinner:
Luke and Han were both sitting on one the side tables, waiting for their meals to take home.
Han glare at Luke who were still quiet.
"So, ready to finally going on vacations after a crazy semester?"
Luke looked at him and nod, not saying a word, which made Han frown.
"Come on kid, is Ines still going nuts with the fact you still didn't conceived?"
"Tell me about it," Luke sighed. "I would never thought I would say this, but it starting to make me not to want to make love with her. It doesn't feel the pleasure it once was anymore."
"Did you actually talk to her?"
"She is obsessed, she doesn't listen," Luke said. "I want to have another kid. Actually it was me the first one to insist to try for the girl, even last year on Life Day's Eve. But now it is the opposite."
"Sorry kid. I didn't know it was that bad. Especially coming from you two, who can't take your hands from each other since like, I don't know… forever!"
"I know," Luke said in a sad tone.
"Maybe it is phase and she will relax now since we are about to leave for vacations next week. We will spend Freedom Day there, and the girls 6 birthday. She will have other things to think about."
"I hope so!" he said before they were called informed their meals were ready to take home.
Later on after dinner:
While the kids were brushing her teeth and put their pajamas, Luke and Ines were in the kitchen, putting the dishes away, after having dinner.
Ines looked at Luke and approaching her husband, she wrapped her arms behind him.
"Well how about we put the kids early today in bed and have some fun!" she started, going to kiss his neck, but frown, when Luke pulled away from her. "Why did you do that?" she asked when he walked away from her.
"Do what?"
"That? You just pulled away from me. You never did that before? And it is not the first time you do that. What is going on?"
Luke turned to face her.
"Do I even have to explain?"
"Explain what?!" she asked asked, when Alli appeared already in her pajamas.
"Mama, can we play with Spots for a while?"
Looking at her daughter, Ines sighed.
"Not now sweetie!" she said looking back at Luke. "Explain what? What is going on with you lately?"
"With me!"
"Yes, with you," she said.
"Mama, can we or not!" Alli insisted which made Ines sighed and glare at her daughter.
"I SAID NOT NOW!" she yelled at her daughter, who froze at her mother.
"I'm sorry!" she said leaving the kitchen, making Ines sighed and sat down.
Luke glare at her with wide eyes.
"This. Do I have to explain now. You just yelled to our daughter like a maniac, and that is how you've being acting for the past months, with this obsession of conceived, to the point I don't feel like making love with you lately. That's why!"
"Wait, you were the one who made a scene last year on Life Day's Eve, insisting to we try to have another baby, and now that I agree, but I'm the maniac?"
"Yes. I know I was the one who wanted to try for another kid, but I never thought you turn into a simple act of love to an absolute goal in our lives. To point that I don't feel any pleasure and desire to do it anymore. And what just happened, just prove my point, Ines." he said and left the room before she could say anything.
Looking at the Loth Cat, that was there looking at her, she pat him.
"Well at least I have you on my side!" she said, rolled her eyes when the cat just turned back and left the room. "Great, even the cat is against me!"
After a few minutes of cleaning the kitchen, she went to the living room, the moment they left to their bedrooms, without even saying a word to her, not even an own husband.
Sitting on the couch, R2 approached her and beeped to her, making Ines looked at the droid.
"You too R2?"
The droid beeped again and left, making Ines sighed in frustration. Maybe they were right? Or they were indeed right.
Standing up, she head to her kids bedrooms, entering the boys bedroom, smiling when she saw Lukey already sleeping. Approaching Ben, the 7 years old looked at her.
"Are you okay, mom?"
"I guess so, why are you asking?" she asked sitting on the bed.
"You are very tensed lately and you never yelled at us before!"
Ines nod. Her son was right.
"I know and I need to apologize your sister. And I will try to relax from now on, okay?"
Nodding, she kissed his forehead and went to the twins bedroom. The girls were not fully asleep yet. When they saw her, Padmé looked at Alli, who face expression change right away.
Tucking Padmé and kissing her goodnight, Ines went to Alli and sat down on the bed.
"Sweetie, I'm really sorry that I yelled at your early on. It was not right and I hope you can forgive me!"
"It is okay Mama. I know you are not feeling well lately!"
"Yes, mama is feeling a lot of stress lately, but that doesn't give me the right to lash my frustrations at you and that will not happen again."
"We know," Padmé said.
Smiling, Ines kissed the girls and pat Spots, who were laying on Alli's bed, and went to her bedroom, ready to apologize to her husband too.
The moment she entered she frown, when she saw Luke, doing his luggage, like he was going somewhere.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
Looking at her, Luke closed the luggage.
"I decided that we need to be away from each other for a while. It is for the best!"
"What? I don't understand. Are we separating?"
"Is not that. I just decided that I need some time alone and you need to be away from me for a while. So I will leave tonight with R2 to Tatooine."
"You what? What about Naboo?"
"I will be there before Freedom Day and the girls birthday. But things are not going well and it is for the best that we stay away from each other and let you to think what is going on!"
Ines couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"If this is about how I've being acting lately and about what happened minutes ago, I already apologize to the kids and I swear I will try to relax. Just don't leave me!"
"I'm not leaving you Ines. I'm not saying our marriage is over, I don't want that, and to avoid that, this is why I decided to go to Tatooine on my own. Please respect that."
"Luke…!"
"Ines, you need to reflect on what is going on, or the divorce will be my next option."
Ines stare are Luke not believing what just came out of his mouth.
"What about the kids? What I'm going to say to them tomorrow when they see you are not here and you are not going with us to Naboo!"
"They know. I told them and explain to them and funny enough they understood and didn't make a scene like their mother!"
Grabbing his luggage and saying to R2 to follow him, Luke left, leaving Ines alone in their bedroom.
What she had done?
Oh no, is this the end of Luke and Ines marriage?
