Ch13
Cat Noir saw helicopters surrounding the bank and police cars surrounding the place on the ground. "Alright Venom lets help them out," he said as he took out his baton.
"Lets do this kid." Venom's symbiote reverberated around him.
He could feel Venom's excitement all around him as he leaped in the air towards a window on the bank's upper floor. The symbiote wrapped around him as he crashed through the window. Landing on the floor he saw a few masked gunmen and a group of hostages in the corner.
He leaped in between the surprised gunman and the hostages and struck the robber nearby with his fist. Another one swore and began to fire at him but Venom's symbiotic tendrils flew form his body and grabbed the bullets before picking the man off the ground.
The robber's eyes widened as he was thrown to the ground
"Oh god it it's Cat Noir!" one of the robbers said as he dropped what he was holding to quickly grab his gun.
With a flick of his wrist he disarmed the man with a web of symbiote before throwing him against the wall.
Alright lets do this. The robbers gipped their weapons and opened fire on him but he deflected the bullets with his baton. Their eyes widened with fear as he approached them. "Nice try." He extended his arm and symbiotic tendrils flew from his suit and knocked the men to the ground.
Willing the symbiote he picked moved all the robbers to one corner and placed their weapons in the other. "That should do it." He looked at the robbers who stared at him with fear in their eyes and then turned to the hostages. "Stay put ok?"
The people nodded as relief spread across their faces. This wasn't bad. Not the same as akuma attacks but still fun. He stayed with the hostages making sure they were safe until he heard the police come. "Alright be safe."
As soon as the police barged in with their weapons he waved goodbye. The officers looked at him and the men on the ground in shock.
"Take care of them guys!" He then ran out the window and back into the night. Extending the symbiote from his body he latched onto a rooftop and catapulted himself on a rooftop.
"Not bad." Viperion emerged from the shadows with a calm smile on his face. "I thought you would need back up for a minute."
He grinned as moonlight danced off his body. "Don't worry this cat is stronger than he looks."
The two high fived. "So want to go to the club again?" Viperion asked.
A grin spread across his face. "Lets go!"
Oh father would kill me if he found out. But hey he was Cat Noir a hero of Paris he deserved to club with a friend.
"So have you told Ladybug about Venom yet?" Viperion asked as they made their way through the city.
He shook his head. "Not yet. But I plan to in the future, I know we are partners but she's kept things from me before and I didn't like that."
"I get that," Viperion said as they arrived at the club. "Hopefully you both can come to an understanding."
"Me too," he said. Deep down he did find it ironic that Ladybug was miffed about him not telling her about Venom when she keeps things from him all the time. They were supposed to be partners and if she wants to play games then so can he, so long as the city of Paris is safe.
The lights of the club flashed brightly as the sound of music reverberated throughout the area. As they approached people called out to them and took photos. The bouncer immediately let them in as soon as he saw them. "Thanks!"
Inside the club the lights flashed brightly as people danced around the floor with music playing. He and Viperion both got some complementary drinks and they began to dance and enjoy themselves.
He had to admit, he let himself loosen up as he danced with Viperion all over the dance floor. The snake hero smiled at him as the light fell on both of them. "You having fun Cat Noir?"
"I am!" he half yelled. "I can finally let loose!"
His father would normally never approve of him going to such a place and having fun dancing with strangers. I wish I could have this freedom in my personal life, frankly father has a habit of keeping me in a gilded cage.
Grabbing Viperion's hand the two danced all over the floor as the music. I've never have been close to many people before but in these past few months my life has changed. I can only hope my life can continue to change for the better.
He continued to dance and enjoy night with Viperion before it was time for them to go. "Well it was nice doing with you again," Viperion said as they exited the club and walked into the city of Paris, the cool wind of the city calmed his nerves as they looked up at the night sky.
"Thanks." He ran his hands through his hair. "I don't always get a chance to loosen up."
"Well you should take care of yourself," Viperion said. The snake hero looked him in the eyes. "You deserve to be happy in your home life and your life as a hero."
He stared at the snake hero as a warm feeling spread throughout his body. "Thank you." It was strange how he had known Luka/Viperion for such a short time yet looking into his eyes he could tell he cared deeply for him.
"Well I better get going. Have a good night Cat Noir," Viperion said.
The two high fived each other before heading back home. "Man that was fine," he said as he arrived home and fell onto his bed. "Claws in."
Venom's head formed above him. "See you do enjoy having fun."
He smiled at the symbiote. "I do." His gaze became heavy as he sat up and got ready for bed. "It's so weird having fun when all your life is dictated to you and suddenly you get freedom." He let out a yawn. "I sometimes wished my father were normal," he muttered as he slipped on his pajamas. "Kinder too."
Surprisingly he managed to sleep well that night but the taste of freedom he experienced grew inside of him. Why must he live in his gilded cage? Yeah his father loved him in his own way but he wished his life were different, more simple than his life as a model under the firm thumb of one of the world's biggest fashion designers.
The next morning he surprisingly felt good. As he got up Venom helped him clean up his room and gather the things he would need for the day. Nathalie and his father were both busy as usual so he didn't get to see them.
"What is it they are so busy with?" Venom asked. "Your father hardly comes out of there."
He shrugged. "Probably just fashion stuff."
Venom paused as they got into the limo. "Something isn't normal with your father or his assistant, they are up to something"
He frowned not knowing how to respond as he got into his car. Deep down he always felt something was off with his father, the way he was so secretive and never there for him. "H-He's just busy," he muttered. Deep down though something was telling him otherwise. Something was off with his family.
When he arrived at school he found Nino sitting at his usual spot. "Hey dude you look happy," Nino said as the two high fived each other.
"Yeah I've been trying to relax some more," he said as he sat down. It was then the door opened, he froze as he saw Alya and Marinette enter. Oh god please don't be awkward.
Yet Marinette did just that. She froze and stared at him with a longing gaze that sent a shiver down his spine. Oh boy. He looked down an pretended to be engrossed in his notebook as Marinette and Alya walked past him.
"Hey are you ok?" Nino whispered.
He sighed. "I'm fine. I just wish she were less weird around me." His stomach as he remembered all of the pictures she had of him in her room along with a bunch of other things. "To think she would violate my personal space like that?" He shook his head in disgust. "If she wanted to get to know me that's fine but she had no right to violate my personal space."
A flare of anger burned in his heart. He was a person not an object yet Marinette decided to invade his personal space as if he were one.
"I understand," Nino said calmly. "She had no right to invade your personal space like that and even if she is sorry you have every right to establish your own personal boundaries."
He smiled at his friend. "Thanks Nino. That means a lot." With that Ms. Bustier came in and began class, but something was off he noticed Max wasn't there.
The next few days were more or less the same for him. His father seemed a bit more withdrawn while at school Max was still absent.
One day he was practicing some piano when Venom's head appeared on his side. "I'm bored can we do something fun?"
He frowned. "I should be practicing."
Venom scoffed. "You're young you shouldn't be cooped all day. Besides I bet you can play like this!" Black symbiotic tendrils emerged from his body and began to play various keys on the piano creating a terrifying symphony.
A smile spread across his face. "Wow never would've thought you would be a musician."
Venom smirked as his tendrils retreated into his body. "High pitch frequencies are my enemy but I enjoy a good melody here and there. Now come on lets do something else."
He paused and shrugged. "Sure why not." Taking out his ipod he turned it on to give the illusion that he was playing.
Stretching his arms he looked out the window and saw that it was indeed a nice day. "Plagg claws out!"
As soon as he transformed into Cat Noir Venom's symbiote wrapped itself around him. Leaping out of his room he landed on a nearby rooftop. A cool breeze passed through him as he began to tour the city.
Racing from rooftop to rooftop he could hear the sounds of the city. Cars driving through the streets and people going about their daily businesses. His enhanced hearing gave him access to a wide range of sounds as he took in the city from all sides.
Suddenly the sound of police sirens rang through the area. He froze and focused on where the sounds came from.
"Finally some action!" Venom declared
A smile spread across his face as he turned and ran towards the sirens. It didn't take long before he saw the source of the commotion. About three police cars were chasing after a rogue car that was speeding through the streets of Paris.
"Alright Venom lets take care of this," he muttered. Leaping in the air Venom's symbiote flew from his body as he landed in front of the car.
The car collided with the symbiote as tendrils easily pierced the tires. Inside the two drivers who wore ski masks stared at him in horror. "What the hell is that!" One of them said before a symbiotic tendril pulled him out of the car.
The other criminal in the passenger seat drew a pistol and fired it through the window. The bullets only bounced off his chest as he dragged the man out of the car with a symbiotic tendril.
"Alright everyone just hold on tight," he said as the police cars stopped and a few officers carefully exited the car. The mask around his face retraced and he grinned at the officers. "Don't worry just your friendly neighborhood Cat Noir."
The policemen looked at each other and nodded. "Thank you Cat Noir we'll take it from here."
He did a small salute. "Good luck!" With that he took out his baton and vaulted himself into the air and landed on another rooftop.
Venom's head formed from his side. "Adrien we have to talk."
"About what?"
The symbiote head turned to face him. "You can't keep being like this, being all cooped up and under your father's control."
He awkwardly avoided Venom's gaze. "It's not easy. My father…He likes things a certain way and is strict." His voice softened as he fought the feelings of anxiety and sorrow inside of him. "I wish it were different but he wants me on a tight leash."
"Well screw that!" Venom spat on the roof. "You're a good kid Adrien but your father's control over you isn't healthy."
"I know," he admitted. It wasn't lost on him that the way his father treated him wasn't normal, even for other upper class Parisians.
Venom looked him in the face. "As your partner I'm going to help you."
He did a double take. "What?"
"I'm going to help you," Venom said. "You don't deserve to be cooped up."
His heart fluttered as he looked at Venom. "Thanks but my father isn't easy to be persuaded."
Venom grinned. "Don't worry we can start small."
A smile spread across his face. "Thanks. Just don't eat him ok."
"Deal," Venom said. The symbiote turned to face the city. "I'm going to be honest with you Adrien, something is off with your father."
He shrugged. "He has a lot of secrets."
"I don't know," Venom muttered. "Something isn't right about him or your family."
He sighed as a pang hit his heart. "Ever since my mother passed he has been like that." Taking a deep breath the image of his mother passed through his head. "It's been hard on everybody."
"She must have been a good woman," Venom said. "How did she die? Did something eat her?"
He shook his head. "No. I don't know to be honest, she got sick one day and then she went to the hospital…" A pang hit his heart as a wave of emotion hit his body, he didn't talk about his mother much but it was a thought always was on his mind. "I didn't see her body in the casket, my father wouldn't let me."
"You my sympathies," Venom said.
His gaze drifted to the city. "My father became stricter with me keeping a tight grip on me. When I met Plagg and became Cat Noir I gained more freedom then I could've imagined."
"You've helped a lot of people but you should also help yourself," Venom said frankly. "Allow me to help you with that."
He looked at the symbiote and smiled. "I'm looking forward to it."
"That's the spirit! Now lets do something fun, something your father would never allow you to do."
Standing up as surge of determination swelled up inside of him. "Yeah lets do that." Leaping off the roof he began to race through the city. It was strange that he could feel so free as a superhero yet so restricted as a civilian.
Father I know you love me but I wish you were nicer and weren't as controlling.
He really did love his father, but he wished he were kinder and less of a control freak.
