What-If Bardock Convinced the Saiyans: Season 2, Chapter 1

Cold Discovered! A Mysterious Duo Appear

Through the exploits from an elite Saiyan team dubbed Starcha Squad, Bardock and his comrades have finally discovered King Colds' hiding place.

The Saiyan race can now finally close the chapter on the Frieza Force.

Though taking some time for themselves to unwind and rest easily from the drama that the ever-expanding cosmos provides, Bardock and company depart from Earth to confront King Cold on Cold Planet 1.

They landed on the planet, surprised at the fact that they hadn't met any resistance on the trip down. It did lay some unrest in Bardock, but they all managed to land a little bit away from King Colds' palace to sneak up and take him out. They want to be careful; he is the father of Frieza, after all.

Nothing was out of the ordinary while approaching. No patrols, no spaceship traffic in an area where there should have been. Everything was quiet.

The party makes it over to a dark stoned ridge, overlooking the entirety of King Colds' palace, and the decor that spanned its grounds, walls, and roofs gave a clear indication of how genuinely pompous this retired emperor was.

Every building in sight shined a royal purple on their rooftops and towers, rimmed with patterns of gold. The walls holding them up? Sleek and marble white with no evidence of dirt or wear, meeting his kingly standard, no doubt. The courtyards and landing platforms in view stretched out around the palace's perimeter, carrying various exotic flowers of blue, violet, and red, lining their edges.

Then to top it all off, a statue of black obsidian, towering in the courtyard in front of the party, of King Cold himself. There was a smirk lining his face, with one hand outstretched to the sky and the other placed on his heart.

Vegeta scoffs at the sight of it, "A little tacky, wouldn't you say?" He says aloud.

"I don't know," said Goku. "I think it looks cool!"

Raditz bops his brother on the head, "Idiot! Don't admire our enemy!"

Bardock raises his hand, "Quiet."

The three obliged. Bardock motions Vegeta to come over to his side.

"I don't like this," Bardock whispers. "No sign of anyone since we landed. Did King Cold abandon the planet?"

"Unlikely, you can still feel his power, can't you?" Vegeta says.

"Yes, Vegeta, but I would've expected some sort of response. Something isn't right here."

Goku goes to the edge of the ridge and looks down, "Do you think it's because of those guys?" Goku points.

Looking on, Bardock is surprised to find that a spaceship, quite like their own, is parked on the landing platform below them. Nearly identical in every way except for a few key differences. The ship was yellow and spherical in design, like their own, but three large sets of blue rotating panels strutting outwards from the hull.

Bardock turned to Vegeta, "Did Bulma make a new ship?" He asked.

"How should I know?" Vegeta responds.

Raditz comes over to him, "What do you mean? You've been around her frequently lately back at Earth, haven't you?" Raditz prodded.

Goku, ever observant, points down below again. "Why don't we ask those two?"

They all look below and see a young man and a girl approaching the gates. One had black hair, like a Saiyan, and another with lavender-colored hair. The two come to a broad gateway into the palace when it suddenly opens up. King Cold steps out and approaches the two, with a large scar streaking across his face.

"Well, I was expecting visitors today, but you have to gall to park right in my home?"

The black-haired girl stepped forward. "Well, I figured that since it won't matter who it is that murks you now," She cracks her knuckles. "I thought it'd be good to size you up, is all."

Cold scowled, "Tsch! Such impertinence! Suppose that's all you get from lowly monkey's!" Cold charged at the girl, who then suddenly disappears before any clash ensued.

Cold stops abruptly, shocked.

He looks around frantically when the young man gets his attention. He points up into the sky; Cold looks and sees that the young woman is now in the air, looking rather bored.

"C'mon! You're going to have to come at me with everything you have if you want to fight me." The girl teased.

Enraged by this, Cold flys up to him and unleashes a fury of blows. She can dodge well, but one good punch from Cold connects straight to her kidney.

The girl staggers back and grins. "Well... ain't that something?" She lets out a massive roar as an explosion of energy envelopes her. In a blinding light of gold, a Super Saiyan appears.

Both Cold and the ragtag group of Z-Fighters are bewildered, especially Cold.

Cold had seen what this same power did to his son. The use of footage recovered from Frieza Planet 315 gave him a first look into what a Super Saiyan can do (it was the central Communications Hub for the Frieza Force, so it must have had some cameras around).

King Cold is terrified and begins to bargain with the Super Saiyan, who looks to be losing interest with each desperate offer spewing from the King's mouth.

She cuts Cold off in mid-sentence, "Look 'your-majesty,' if this was all it took to have you start begging, then you're not worth the time."

Cold stops and is getting furious, with both himself and this girl in front of him.

From the below, the young man calls up to his friend. "Could you hurry it up? We need to deliver the message and cargo. Quit wasting time."

"Waste time? Good joke, Trunks, but can I just have a little more fun with this guy before we do?" The two end up bickering with each other, with Cold on the sidelines.

"How dare these-these insects ignore me... I am the emperor of the universe." Cold clenches his fists. "I refuse to be subjected to such-such INDIFFERENCE." He has finally had enough.

He takes this exchange between the two as his advantage and charges the Super Saiyan. "KNOW THIS WELL, MONKEY! I WILL NOT BE TOYED WITH!" He lands a crackling punch on the girl's face.

She staggers backward. King Cold follows up with another, but she catches it. Her go-lucky attitude was gone. What now replaced that is a face of annoyance and irritation.

"Well, that's not good sportsmanship." She says coldly.

She kicks Cold up high into the air and begins to charge a blast in her hand. Before Cold could recuperate, the girl lets out a massive explosion from her hand and blasts Cold out of existence.

The four Saiyans were now flabbergasted by this power. Who were these two? Were they friends or foes? All of these questions and more went through each of their heads. Except for Bardock, he was left more perplexed than bewildered.

Bardock noticed when that young girl let loose that ki wave, the stance she took to fire it was suspiciously similar to his signature move, the Final Spirit Cannon.

The dust settled, and when it was clear to everyone that Cold was gone, the palace went into an uproar of alarms and panic.

The king is dead.

Sirens and lights started blaring all around, the deceased king's subjects were running to escape, thinking they will be next. In the next few minutes, droves of spaceships begin to fly up and away from the Cold Planet 1, with Bardock the first to take notice.

He turns to everyone else and calls for them to take out every ship that tries to leave.

"I wouldn't bother with them; they won't cause trouble for you later down the line anyway." A voice says from behind Bardock.

Bardock snaps around to see the same young woman who killed Cold, who's back to normal, black hair and all. Without hesitation, Bardock powers up into Super Saiyan and charges, catching her extremely off guard.

"WOAH WAIT A SEC-"

Bardock stops. Not because of the girl's plea, but because a tip of a sword was now at his throat. The young man that accompanied the girl had suddenly appeared between the two, while in Super Saiyan as well.

Everyone is at a loss at this point.

Except for Goku, who is just amazed. "Woah, another Super Saiyan?"

No doubt that after this encounter, Goku will be hitting the training regime harder than ever.

The young man lowers his sword as he explains to everyone that they are not their enemies.

Raditz and Vegeta remain skeptical, especially Vegeta, who was swimming with questions in his mind. "How can there be more than one Super Saiyan in this day and age? We would have been aware of these two twerps if they'd were around!"

No doubt that this question was swimming around in Bardock's mind as well, but he only asks the most obvious of them. "Who are you, and what do you want?"

The pair look at each other, then the sword-boy answers. "It's better if we talk to you in private, Bardock."

Bardock agrees, reluctantly, and follows the two back to their ship alone.

At the ship, Bardock notices the black-haired girl shifting uncomfortably while looking at him.

"What's got you all nervous?"

"Nothing, it's just..." The girl stops himself, then mutters under her breath. "I'm finally getting to meet you."

Bardock raises an eyebrow. "Do I know you?"

The other interjects between the two. "She can't exactly tell you, Bardock. But my name's Trunks, and well, we're time travelers from the future. We need to warn you of something."

Bardock raises his hand. "Stop... If you want to tell me lies, then that's your business, but don't bother telling them to me." Bardock begins to turn away from the two.

Trunks protests. "B-but it's true! We need to tell you that-."

"Enough! You two already wasted my time!" Bardock snaps back. "I need to chase down those Frieza Force stranglers now, thanks to you! Two Super Saiyans or not, you need to see the bigger picture."

"It-it was Queen Cassava that convinced you, right?!" The girl blurted out, and Bardock stops.

"That night, before you departed and killed Frieza? She was the one who helped you believe in yourself again, right?"

Bardock looks back at her. How could she have known this? He had never told anyone about that night.

Before Bardock could press her on this, Trunks speaks up. "If that got your attention, then listen to this. In three years, on May 12th, on Planet Earth, two beings emerge that become total nightmares for you, your family, and the entire Galaxy."

Now, that did get Bardock's attention, so he decides to listen to more of Trunk's story. Trunks explain that two beings would appear, Androids created by a man named Dr. Gero. A man who escaped when Goku brought down the Red Ribbon Army during his childhood.

The Androids were created to take revenge against Goku but had ultimately turned and killed their creator. After that, they went on their ventures across the world. Leaving the Earth in ruins and forcing people off-planet. Many Saiyans were called upon to fight them, but they were all disposed of quickly.

Like a whale consuming a cloud of krill, not many survived.

One ship that housed a battalion of Saiyans was hijacked and used by the two Androids to explore the stars for their enjoyment. Much to the dismay of the Galaxy.

Bardock is still skeptical of this. He couldn't believe that two buckets of bolts could beat him and his warriors. "So then you're saying that we lost? These Androids killed me?" Bardock asks.

"Actually," The girl steps forward. "You never made it to the battle."

"Huh?"

"You, along with br- hmmm... Goku and some other Saiyans..." Her voice wavers for a moment. "You die from a heart virus."
