A/N: Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated The One At Theater Camp in a while, but I've been busy with life and work. Starting next week, I'll be working 4 days in a row (Monday-Thursday), which I'm happy about. I have now been at my job for 40 days and have learned so much from my coworkers and the friends I've made there.
A/N 2: I am working on a sequel to this story and have the first two chapters written, but I'm gonna wait until this story is complete to post it. That being said, there are only seven chapters remaining until this story is done. I'm hoping to complete this story either by the end of September / beginning of October.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
(chapter title - Zazz)
Since Phoebe wasn't in the musical much, she decided to write a letter home to her mother, just to let her know how camp was going.
Phoebe sat at the desk in the cabin, grabbing her stationary, along with her favorite pen and began writing.
Dear mom,
Hope you're doing well - I'm having a lot of fun at Theater Camp. I hope you can make it to see me in The Prom. I play Angie and have such a fun song - it's called Zazz and it's the second song in the second act. It's probably one of my favorite songs in the musical.
I've made several new friends - Ted, Marshall, Barney, Lily and Robin. They're all nice and accepting.
I hope you're doing well - I'm a little homesick, but I have my friends to keep me company.
I've formed a friendship with Lily and Robin, who play Alyssa and Mrs. Green in the musical, respectively.
I'm excited because this is my third musical. I've formed better friendships with these casemates than I did with the casts of Hairspray, Oklahoma & Beauty and the Beast.
I should get going - I think the girls want to hang out with me.
Love,
Phoebe
Phoebe looked over her letter before putting it in an envelope and sealed it before putting a stamp on it. She then exited her cabin and went to mail the letter before going to find the girls.
"Hey Phoebe, we were gonna go horseback riding. Wanna come?" Rachel asked.
Phoebe nodded, "yes please."
After their ride, it was time to go to rehearsals for The Prom.
Today, Phoebe and Monica were practicing Phoebe's song Zazz. It was probably Phoebe's favorite song in the entire musical, besides Love Thy Neighbor and Unruly Heart.
"I really wanna do Broadway karaoke again" Phoebe said after rehearsal was over for the day.
"Agreed" everyone said in unison.
As if Ruby had read everyone's minds, there was another Broadway karaoke opportunity coming up that Saturday, which was in three days at the camp.
Everyone rushed to sign up to sing Broadway karaoke.
"I think we should sing Welcome to the Rock from Come From Away" Lily said.
"Yeah, we can get some people to sing with us, since there's more parts in that song than we have people" Chandler said.
Everyone signed up to do either solo or group numbers.
Saturday arrived and everyone gathered in the Performance Space after dinner to sing some Broadway karaoke.
Phoebe and her friends opened the show with Welcome to the Rock from Come From Away. She sang the part of Annette.
After the big group number, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey, Lily and Marshall sang No Day But Today from RENT.
It was now time for the final performance of the night, which was Phoebe singing Dead Mom from Beetlejuice.
When Phoebe was done singing, everyone at theater camp applauded for her. Phoebe smiled as she heard her friends let out whistles and cheers as she went to sit with them.
"Okay, campers. Go to your cabins and get some good sleep - tomorrow, it's the first run through of the show from start to finish" Ruby said.
Everyone gathered up their chairs and blankets, making their way towards their cabins, talking and laughing in small and big groups.
Phoebe let out a big yawn as she got into bed after putting her pajamas on and brushing her teeth. She gathered her stuffed turtle in her arms, turned off her light and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of her life out of camp and hoping she could keep the friendships she forged with her friends after camp ended.
