Chapter eighteen /Shopping

After work, Martinez drives me to Jessica's Dress Shop. His girlfriend, Paige Morgan, comes along to pick out a dress as well. She is very young, about twenty years old with blonde hair and big blue eyes. She sort of looks like my sister, Amy. I think I stared at her.

"What color dress are you getting?" Paige asked, sitting in the back seat with me.

"I found a white Sherri Hill mermaid style dress, I am trying it on again. What about you?" I said, getting to finally talk to her. I knew she worked as a maid but I haven't had a chance to introduce myself.

"Martinez likes it when I wear red. So red or maybe pink," Paige says quietly. I know that a friendship between us is unlikely but I am hoping in time we could be close.

I tried on the dress again, while Paige looked at some dresses on clearance. I took a few pictures, and texted them to Philip. The dress fit perfectly, and I was in love with it.

Beautiful bride, try on some wedding dresses, he texted back.

My skin blushes, but I don't try on a wedding dress yet. There would be plenty of time for that later, I decided.

Paige finds a hot pink gown with a mermaid style. "I really love that dress on you," I said as we got in line to purchase our dresses.

"I like yours too. Mr. Blake is going to propose to you soon. Do you know what you are going to say?" she asked after we paid for the dresses. We walked outside together and Martinez put the dresses in the trunk.

"I am going to say yes. He is very well-mannered, attractive, and he is the type of man I always thought I would marry," I said, blushing.

"Doesn't hurt that he is a billionaire, either," she said jokingly.

"I like that about him," I said, feeling guilty for admitting it. Did I love him only because of the money? I didn't want to believe that about myself. But I couldn't deny that I loved what his money could do.

"Once you are married, he will own you. You will be like his Mercedes Benz, private jet, or his mansion. He collects things. I really don't trust him," she said so softly that I couldn't be sure I heard it right.

I wasn't really sure how to respond to what she just said, so I just sat down beside her in the limo.

"Paige and Andrea, would you like Chick-fil-A? I can stop on my way back home." Martinez said interupting her.

I wonder if Philip was hiding things from me, but I decided to let it go.

"That sounds so good," Paige said smiling.

"I could eat," I said, feeling nervous. I texted Philip we are getting dinner. He texted immediately.

No worries. I'm having to help a friend move.

I wonder who he is helping but decide to talk with him once I got home. I was going to also need help moving out of my apartment since I found out that everyone had to move out because the new owner was going to build something else there.

Eating Chick-fil-A with Paige turned out to be a lot of fun. We talked about the summer I turned pretty and Taylor Swift. We ate so many waffle fries and chicken nuggets. I wished so bad we could take a girls' trip but I knew Martinez would never allow it.

He seemed to want to always have her in his sights.

"We better get going," Martinez said as soon as we finished eating. What did she see in this guy? I mean, is he attractive with his tan skin, dark hair, and eyes?...but he is sort of a hot head.

Martinez drops by at the house and Philip greets me by opening the door. I give him a hug and smell him.

"Hey, I missed you today. Who did you help move from their apartment?" I said more curious than anything.

"My adoptive sister Sasha. I was more showing her my rental house and having her sign a lease. But I did pay her neighbor, Shane, a hundred bucks to help her with the furniture." he says under his brief.

He looks so comfortable in jeans and a Foo Fighters tee shirt. He loved wearing band tees, and I loved stealing them to wear around the house.

I was so happy to find someone who wants to take care of me completely and makes me feel special. i do really love this man.

"I am going to have to move too. My apartment buildings were sold and apparently they are tearing them down. You said I could move in. Does that offer still stand?" I asked quietly.

"Absolutely. We are going to be married soon. We will need to get your ring size soon too. After tatoo removal," he says wrapping his arounds me.

We've been together exactly two weeks. We've had sex ten times or more, I have met his mom, went on vacation with him, told him I love you, and I was moving in. At this rate, we would be married by March or April. I think trying not to overthink it.

Clearly it was love at first sight for him, and since he treats me like a princess, I too fell in love.

"Would you hire someone to pack everything up for me? I am going to go and grab a few things from Amy's room. After that, I don't want to go back there. I love my sister but nothing can bring her back." I said, accepting my future.

"Yes. We can pack up everything. So you don't have to see it. It's healthy to let go of the past. You realize that you belong with me now." He says, taking her into his arms.

We go upstairs and he makes love to me for the eleventh time. I fall asleep in his arms, and I am happy here with him.
