CHAPTER 27

The structure of Fort Flaguerre on Begnion's groundings was the first fight sight for the Greil Mercenaries and the Laguz Alliance. There, an Armored Lance General named Septimus was commanding his troops in battle. But on the field of battle, he found nothing but lunacy.

"Look at this." said Septimus. "Look at how meager the forces are." he said to one Halberdier.

"General Septimus, we're only making single rounds for tonight only." said the sniper Silvano. "We merely do not need a bigger force." he mentioned.

Septimus did nothing but yell at Silvano, saying that he was wrong. He also mentioned that the "bloodthirsty" beast laguz were stalking the Begnion soldiers like tiger's prey.

"Sir, you don't have to go that hard." said Silvano.

"Silence!" yelled Septimus.

Silvano did nothing but gulp in nervosity.

"Shit!" yelled one Begnion soldier.

"Ah! The Sub-Humans are attacking us!" yelled another Begnion soldier.

Kamaria, atop her pegasus mount, came swooping down into the field of battle and sliced every Begnion soldier in her path.

"Take that, Begnion!" yelled Kamaria. "Kito!" yelled Kamaria. "Why don't you go over there!"

"I'm taking Ross and Samantha with me!" yelled Kito. "Samantha's casting a spell on those soldiers over there!"

"Haha! Take this!" yelled Samantha.

"Heh. Samantha's pretty clever." said Ross.

"Guys!" yelled Ike. "Get those soldiers over there!" he ordered. "Move out to the target area!" yelled Ike.

"Yes, Commander!" yelled Ross and Kito.

"I do not like this idea." said Shinon as he was about to draw an arrow from his quiver. "...Lorriane, what are you doing?" asked Shinon.

"I'm going to choke the heck out of that soldier over there." said thirteen-year-old Lorriane. "You know, the one with the big, roundy nose and the funny-looking mustache."

"Lorriane!" yelled Gatrie.

The battle was going well for the Laguz Alliance, but not Begnion. Septimus later turned around, and yelled at Silvano for not keeping Begnion under control. Then, Septimus was later choked.

"Hey!" yelled a Begnion soldier. "She's choking the general!" he later proclaimed.

"Stop her!" yelled another Begnion soldier.

Mordecai, in his tiger form, and Lethe, in her cat form, both later ran up to the soldiers and sliced them down with their fangs and claws. Septimus later died on the spot from Lorriane.

"OK, how the hell did Lorriane do all of that?!" asked Mist in exclamation.

"Beats me, Mist." said Kamaria.

Titania later dismounted from her horse, and walked up to Lorriane and the deceased Septimus.

"Well, he met one hell of an end." said Titania.

"Look at that creepy look on his face, though." said Boyd.

"Alright, alright, ALRIGHT!" yelled Ike. "PLease calm down, everyone." said Ike.

"What?" asked Kamaria. "Are we gonna let the feral tiger laguz feast on him?"

"If there are any around." said Lethe.

"Leave the body where it is." said Soren. "Surely, it will be disposed of soon."

What was surprising to the Laguz Alliance, there were more Begnion soldiers out there. One even sported eyes on Septimus' dead body.

"Gah!" yelled one Begnion soldier.

"Flee to the east! Flee to the east!" yelled one Begnion soldier in fear.

"Oh, no…" said Lethe.

As Skrimir roared, he scared off the Begnion soldiers. A few of them who did not flee to the east were mauled to death by Skrimir thanks to the power of his lion fangs. Skrimir, after mauling off the faces of ten Begnion soldiers, roared for victory and shifted back into his human form.

"Is everything done?" asked Ike.

"Bah! I crave for more beorc blood! Find me more beorc to kill!" yelled Skrimir.

"But the civilians don't want to quarrel with us." said Ike. "And the soldiers handed over all their weapons."

"Yeah, I got a good hand of the soldiers' share when it comes to the brutes of Begnion." said Kamaria.

Kito later shoved her sister.

"Now what was that for?" asked Kamaria.

"I dunno." said Kito.

"Hmph." Ike grunted. "Alright. Time to head out."

"Ike, don't forget there was a time when Begnion brutes ruled over us." said Ranulf.

"You forget that was before the time of me, Ranulf." said Skrimir as everyone was walking away.

"What has gotten into him?" asked Ranulf.

Everyone was confused. As Skrimir gave out a speech once everyone stopped, Soren called it stupid.

"Don't call out such things like that." said Titania as she rode through the forests with the mercenaries and laguz.

As everyone was walking and riding, depending on how they were getting around, Titania asked Ike if that war they were fighting in was really a war that should be fought by the Laguz Alliance itself. As they knew about Lehran's Medallion and the dark god that sleeps within it, it was their responsibility to prevent the horror they were striving back then. If war was covering Tellius, Tellius itself would be destroyed by the dark god whom sleeps within Lehran's Medallion. Titania feared that it would be a continental conflict. A continental conflict of war. Everyone got lucky during the late King Ashnard's conflict of the Mad King's War, which was a very close call according to Titania. She wondered if they could count on being lucky once again. They were already talking about a war between Begnion–the continent's oldest nation–and three laguz countries: Gallia, Phoenicis, and Kilvas. Due to Goldoa's isolation, they were not allowed to be in any part or involvement in the war.

"Lady Titania, the medallion's under protection of the Serenes royal heron family." said Ranulf. "Even if the dark god escaped, the herons would be able to control it with the songs of the galdr."

"I know of Reyson and Leanne. And…Rafiel's the third one, right?" asked Ike. "Lillia, I know, died."

"Ike's right." said Mist. "Lillia did die."

"Smart lad he is." said Kamaria. "Tee hee hee!"

"Well, fret no more." said Ranulf. "We will be relying on the intense power of you–the Greil Mercenaries." said Ranulf.

"Here yee, here yee!" yelled Kito. "The Greil Mercenaries, coming to save the day! I shall write a fine ballad dedicated to them."

"What, Kito?" asked Kamaria. "Lil' brother, what are you doing?"

"He's gonna sing in the middle of nowhere, isn't he?" asked Lorriane.

The Greil Mercenaries,

From the heart of Crimea!

The heroes of a tale,

Never meant to fail,

They always will prevail!

"Kito!" yelled Kamaria, Ike, Ross and Samantha.

"There's still a war that needs to be fought." said Ike. "Come on. Sing your victory songs when everything goes back to normal."

Kito sighed. "Fine." said Kito.

Everybody walked off into the unknown of the world.
