Chapter 10: Sue hate Chris
(Later at Principal Morton's office…)
After what happened in gym class at the sports fields today, Rita asked Morton to call Chris's father. Rita then explained to Morton what happened at the sports fields. From the punishment she gave to the Ultras, to Chris not working to do the runs, to Chris using profanity against her.
Hearing this, Morton immediately called Chris's father to settle this situation. He did not tolerate this type of behavior in this school, especially if it's profanity being used against a teacher. That crosses the line.
They waited for some minutes before Chris's father arrived at the school, with a frustrated face. Rita and Morton could tell Chris's father was in the middle of doing something important before they called him.
Then Morton called Chris to come on down while Rita and Chris's father waited for her…
Now Rita, Morton, Chris, and her lawyer father: John Hargensen, were sitting down in the principal's office. To him this isn't the first time something like this happened. He was used to it.
"This gym teacher was running Chrissie into the ground and used profanity. I believe the term "shitty" was used." John argued.
Rita turned to look at Chris in disbelief.
"She can't do that. It's abuse of power." John said to Morton.
"You're right, Daddy. That's what she said. "Shitty." She's really abusive." Chris said.
Rita just kept staring at Chris with a blank face. She could not believe Chris is trying to change the story so she can get herself out of this situation and try to say Rita was the one who used profanity against Chris so she could get in trouble and get fired.
Rita really had to fight the urge to slap Chris in the face…
"Ms. Desjardin was reprimanded for what happened in class today. But you know we've had a lot of problems with your daughter in the past." Morton explained remembering all of the times he had suspended Chris.
Chris stares at Morton also remembering the times she would get in trouble. Like that time when she put a firework in a girl's shoe and it exploded damaging her leg severely…
"And now, with what she did to her classmate, Carrie White. The girl was having her…" Morton trailed, not wanting to say the word as he didn't feel comfortable.
Rita stares at Morton trail off at that sentence and wants to say it when she sees he's not comfortable saying the word but kept quiet due to the situation right now.
"What your daughter and her posse…" Morton tried to say but was cut off by John.
"I'm not going to sit here and listen to half-truths. I know my daughter. She said she didn't do it." John said.
Rita put her hand on her hips in frustration, seeing that both her and Morton were losing in this situation.
"I want her prom privileges restored." John said.
Chris starts to slightly smile seeing they were winning in this situation.
"You can't prove she did anything, can you?" John said.
"I believe that there is a video of the incident." Rita decided to step in.
John and Morton looked at her while Chris didn't move.
As Chris suddenly felt nervous, remembering that she still has the video on her new phone.
"And I think your daughter is the one who took it." Rita said.
Chris began to breathe a little heavy.
"I think a video like that would probably be pretty damning to anyone in it and to the person who made it. Don't you, Mr. Hargensen?" Rita asked.
Chris looked down at her fingers.
"I don't know. I'm just a gym teacher, but it seems like a video like that would probably affect college admissions, possibly a lawsuit, tons of bad publicity. I wonder what The Today Show would do with a video like that." Rita finished speaking feeling victorious after what she just said.
Chris felt her heart pounding really fast as she realizes she doesn't have a way out of this. She still has the video on her new phone and can't delete it right now since they will immediately realize it's true. She couldn't believe she was so stupid enough to keep the video on her phone. She had a whole night to do it yet, she didn't.
"I think we should just look at her phone and if it's not there, I owe you a huge apology and she should be allowed to go to prom." Rita said. Though she just realized Chris may have deleted the video on her new phone already.
"Chris." John said, looking at his daughter.
Rita suddenly felt like slapping her forehead with her hand.
Though she didn't expect to hear this.
Morton extended his hand towards Chris so he can take the new phone…
"Chris." John said.
Chris let out a short nervous laugh.
"Daddy, I'm not going to give them my new phone. I have personal things on here." Chris said, trying to sound normal and reason a way out of this.
Rita felt super relief seeing Chris refusing to give her new phone meant she still had the video.
"Isn't that invasion of privacy or something?" Chris asked.
John huffed in frustration seeing this. He had a really busy work schedule today and didn't want to waste time so he could get back to work.
"Chrissie, if you want to go to prom, just give them the damn new phone and we can be done with this. I have to get back to work." John said.
Chris looked at her father in this disbelief, seeing he has sided with the teacher and principal and is truly alone in this situation with officially no way out.
"Dad." Chris tried to explain.
Now really frustrated, she snapped at Chris.
"God damn it, just give them your new phone, Chris." John said to her daughter a little louder this time.
Finally aspecting defeat…
"No." Chris said.
She grabbed her bag and walked out of Morton's office while looking like she wanted to cry.
Chris finally realized she was officially out of prom…
(In the Gym…)
In the gymnasium, there were many students working and decorating the place to prepare for the upcoming prom which was only three days away. Some students were putting up the lights, some of them were making star papers, and some of them were painting. It was full of joy and happiness as people were decorating and laughing with each other as they were excited to also go to the Prom. One of those students working was Freddy.
Some of the Ultras were also presented in the room which were Sue, Tina, Heather, Nicki and Lizzy. They were talking about what has happened today, or more specifically what has been happening for them this week. They talked about the shower incident that happened which now the Ultras didn't find funny anymore (though secretly Tina still did), the rough punishment they got from Rita because of it, Chris refusing to do the runs, Rita saying Chris is out of the prom, they don't know if that's true yet, and all of her friends refusing to join because they didn't want to be kicked out of prom. Who knows if Chris hates them now. To say the least, this week so far the Ultras had been a shitty one.
Ever since the punishment, they all started having second thoughts on what they did to Carrie, most of them realizing it was wrong, really wrong. The poor girl didn't know what her period was. They could have explained it to her but instead only made things worse by laughing at her, by following Chris…
Some of them were thinking about apologizing to Carrie for what they did to her. That it was wrong what they did and wished Carrie would forgive them. But the thing is will she? It's been years of them bullying her without stopping. They were sure Carrie hated them with all her strength.
They weren't sure about this.
Eventually Heather said something that caught the attention of the Ultras.
"Hey did you girls hear about the Bat that went yesterday?" Heather asked.
They looked at her for a moment when she asked that question before Sue.
"Yeah, I heard about it." Sue said.
"I heard about it, too." Nicki said.
"Yeah, when we were watching the bat-wings in the shower here, yesterday." Lizzy said.
"I was honestly shocked when they said the Bat just disappeared and the US has no idea how it happened." Sue said.
"How did they just disappeared without a trace though?" Tina asked, knowing about it and was really confused how that was possible.
Sue thought for a moment, trying to find an answer but nothing came out. "I don't know. I honestly am really curious myself on what happened to them."
"How though? It was right out in the open. There's no way no one at least could have seen what happened to them from a bat." Nicki said.
"Well it looks like nobody did because no one has come forward if they saw something." Heather said.
But Heather then thought of something…
"Or maybe they did but the Bat hasn't shown it to the public." Heather said thinking the Bat may know something.
"What did you girls think it could have been then?" Lizzy asked.
All the members of the Ultras thought for a moment. Thinking about what could have caused all the Bat called the Batman to disappear.
"At first I thought it could have been some other country responsible but I don't think it was since he called the Batman should have noticed or seen their presence in Gotham City. But it seems they didn't see anything. So that theory is shot down." Heather said.
"I thought it may have been some terrorist organization but none of them even have advanced weaponry like a real modern army. The theory definitely isn't true." Tina said.
"I thought it could have been ghosts, but one we don't even know if there is ghost life out there in Gotham City and two, something tells me that even crimes wouldn't be able to make Batman on the same day without the Tumbler, Bat-Pod, and the Bat. We would have noticed them. So it can't be them." Lizzy said.
They were all silent for a moment.
"What if it was a supervillain?" Sue asked.
The Ultras turned to Sue and thought about that theory.
"So what supervillain could have done this then?" Heather asked.
"Maybe a bad crime?" Nicki asked.
"Hmmm… I don't know." Lizzy told her twin while catching her breath after speaking too much.
"Okay okay. I guess you do have a point." Nicki told her twin sister.
"Maybe it could have been… What was that Dr. Jonathan Crane called again? He became the Sca… The Scare… The Scarecrow, yes that's the name." Tina said.
"Hmmm… maybe it could be." Lizzy said.
Lizzy then thought of something else when Tina said it may have been the Scarecrow.
"It may have been a masked man named Bane. The clown man's name is The Joker. And Ra's Al Ghul and her daughter Talia. The kitty woman's name is Selina Kyle. She became a Cat… The Catwoman." Lizzy said.
"Uhh… I don't know about that one but the Joker, Bane, Ra's and Talia Al Ghul, and Catwoman are from Gotham City so maybe." Heather said.
Heather turned to Sue.
"What about you Sue?" Heather asked.
"I honestly don't know. So the District Attorney Harvey Dent. He became Two-Face." Sue said.
"Wait a minute. Batman murdered Harvey Dent?" Heather asked.
"No, it's not true. Batman did not murdered Harvey Dent nine years later." Sue said.
The Ultras felt chills down their spines hearing Sue's prediction. Some part of them told them Sue's prediction may be true and that there may be something out there they have never seen before. Although they wished that Sue's prediction was false…
However, before they could make more predictions about what happened in Batman, they heard a bag fall down to the floor with a hard thud.
They looked at the direction of the sound and saw Chris with an upset and slightly sad face.
The atmosphere around the Ultras immediately changed from peaceful to tense in seconds as they knew an angry Chris always meant bag things…
"So, I'm officially out of the prom." Chris said, approaching the group.
The faces of the Ultras changed as well. Their suspicious on Chris being out of the prom being true. Heather and one of the Watson Twins turned their heads away, the other twin looked at Chris with a blank expression on her face, Tina looked upset, Chris was out of the Prom, and Sue just tried to focus back on Prom decorating.
"I bet that cock-sucker Morton would lose his job, though." Chris said.
The Ultras listened to what Chris was saying, none of them knowing what to say to her…
"My dad is suing him." Chris claimed falsely, clearly losing her mind now.
Nicki and Lizzy didn't say anything, but they frowned as they sensed they couldn't expect anything good from Chris, looked at Sue and walked up to her at the foot of the stairs…
"Jesus, Sue, why didn't you stand up for me? We could have them by the balls." Chris said in a disappointed voice.
Sue finally looked at Chris.
"We deserved it" Sue said which Chris felt a little taken aback. "for what we did to Carrie White. I thought I deserved it."
Chris looked like she was about to punch something or someone.
"Desjardin was right. We did a shitty thing for no reason." Sue said.
"BULLSHIT!" Chris interrupted furious loudly causing some students that were working at the table behind her to turn around.
"That Carrie goes around saying that everyone but her and her mother are going to Hell, and you stand up to her?" Chris asked to Sue's disbelief, seeing her best friend choose Carrie…
Sue walked down the steps towards Chris.
"Come on!" Chris told her best friend.
"You're such a pig sometimes, Chris." Sue said.
Sue came close to Chris's face.
"What did Carrie White ever do to you?" Sue asked Chris in a slightly louder voice.
"She's been begging for it since the sixth grade, Sue." Chris justified herself holding her hands.
"I got to go." Sue told Chris making Chris let go of her as Sue began to walk away.
No longer feeling to act nice, Chris remembered something and turned to Sue.
"I seem to remember you were in the throwing with the rest of us." Chris said.
Sue picked up her bag and started to walk away.
"What is it that she was calling her? "Freak"?" Chris asked while looking at the rest of the Ultras.
Upon hearing that, Sue stopped walking and turned around to Chris.
"I stopped." Sue told Chris.
Chris turned to look at Sue.
"Oh, you stopped?" Chris said.
"Yeah." Sue said to Chris trying to sound confident though she was feeling a bit nervous.
"Why did you keep running? Hmm?" Chris asked Sue.
Sue tried to walk away again, but Chris was walking towards her and grabbed Sue's arm tightly.
"Why did you keep running, Sue?" Chris asked louder.
"Stop it, Chris!" Sue said, pulling her arm away from Chris.
"You kept running, Sue, little Suze, because you've been dreaming about senior year and the perfect boyfriend and the perfect pro your whole god-damnit life." Chris told Sue in a crazy voice.
Sue stared at Chris in shock. Chris has never spoken to Sue like this before.
"You already booked the hotel, already practiced zones you're gonna make when you and Tommy make love." Chris told Sue while giggling at her evilly.
Sue was disgusted and horrified by the way Chris was speaking to her. Chris had never acted this cruel to her before. Chris spoke like if she was talking to Carrie. It was almost like Sue was speaking to an entirely different person.
"That's why you had this bullshit change of heart." Chris told Sue.
Sue just remained silent.
"You don't give a shit about Carrie White. And everybody knows it." Chris said to Sue.
Not wanting to hear Chris anymore, Sue walked past Chris and headed for the exit doors of the gym.
"Okay. I'll see you around, Sue." Chris smirked at Sue, as she left the gym.
However, turning forward again, Chris was surprised to see Sue in front of her. The cyan teenager was not going to leave without a thing to say to that bully…
Especially Sue turning and walking with the students while watching Plasma TV on the internet just to make sure if he really is…
And it turns out…Alfred paid off Bruce Wayne's death as a cover by them to protect him from Bane and his family wealth…was restored.
"This can't be right. Bruce Wayne is alive." Sue said.
"Yeah. He died one year ago." The student said.
Sue then began his suspension on Bruce Wayne…
(Later at the Snell's Residence...)
Sue arrived and pulled the door open, closed, and looked around. As Sue walked into her bedroom… As Sue watched her new red dress to the prom. Sue walked and looked at the red dress, she smiled...
