Ch. 1 The disappearance of Kion

It was another beautiful day in the Pridelands. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the hyenas were chasing the zebras towards the Outlands for dinner.

Wait

Hyenas were chasing the zebras?

Yep, that no good Janja and his crew, Chunga and Cheezi were at it again. Making sure that they could finally get that dinner they've been waiting for.

Suddenly, just after they'd entered the Outlands, the sounds of rapid footsteps behind them lessened. Janja got confused as to why it sounded like it was just him and his clan running. As soon as they stopped and looked behind them, the zebras were gone. Almost as though they'd just…disappeared.

That's when they saw their prey running in the exact opposite direction, back to the Pridelands. They realized what'd caused it. It was non other than The Lion Guard that was leading the zebras back. "Oh great. The Lion Guard" Janja said, rolling his eyes as he turned to face his enemies.

"Give it up Janja. You're outnumbered and outmatched." Kion growled as he and the rest of the guard surrounded the hyenas. There was lion cub Kion and his friends Bunga the honey badger, Fuli the cheetah, Beshte the hippo and Ono the egret.

"Now get out of the Pridelands, NOW!" Kion demanded, barring his teeth at the three hyenas. "Oh yeah? Make me." Janja said with an evil. But he eventually regretted saying that when Kion closed his eyes, and roared.

The clouds behind him formed into four different lion heads. The roar of what sounded like a hundred lions blasted through the entirety of the Pridelands and Outlands.

It sent Janja, Chunga and Cheezi flying through the air and far back into the Outlands where they came from.

Once everything was said and done, the guard made their way out of the Outlands.

"Well at least we won't have to worry about him for a while" Bunga the Honey Badger said out of relief. "Your right Bunga. Ono, are all the zebras back in their grazing grounds?" Kion asked.

"Affirmative" the egret confirmed. "Good. Let's head back" Kion smiled as the rest of the guard followed him back to the Pridelands.

However, as they approached the entrance of the Outlands, Kion abruptly stopped walking and his ears perked up. He heard a faint sound not to far from where he and the guard were at.

At first he thought it was Janja again, but he was already so deep inside the Outlands at that point. Curiosity filling his mind, Kion drifted away from his friends, not even realizing he was doing so, and went to where the noise was coming from.

When he reached the source of the sound, he was in disbelief. There was an odd opening in one of the rock walls. Kion figured that that's where the sound was coming from.

The lion cub slowly walked forward as if ready to pounce, but then he noticed something strange as he looked downward.

There was a white light peeking from the bottom of the rocks. Tilting his head, Kion knelt down and sniffed the spot where the light was but no particular scent was coming to his brain.

Then the noise started growing louder causing Kion to slowly back away.

"Uh guys, you might want to see this" he said only to remember that he'd wandered away from them so he could get a closer look at the rocks.

That's when the light got brighter and surrounded Kion and his eyes widened in terror. He tried running away but it was too late.

Meanwhile the rest of the guard were chatting about what their plans were for tomorrow, not noticing that their leader wasn't present. Then Fuli piped up. "Hey guys, has anybody seen Kion?"

"Yeah he's right…here" Bunga froze as the guard turned around. "Wait where is he? I could've sworn he was with us a second ago" Ono said. "Kion? KION?!" Full yelled out. But the lion cub was nowhere to be seen.

Kion had disappeared.
