Chapter 2:
Latias found herself back at the dock in her original form. In front of her stood the boy who, all those years ago, saved her home and stole her heart. The man of her dreams.
…
Dreams?
…
Oh right.
…
A dream.
…
That's what this was.
…
Nothing but a dream.
…
A dream she's had quite often over the last few years.
…
So often in fact, she knew exactly what was going to happen. Soon she would the love of her life standing there at the dock. He would approach her slowly, gently taking her hands in his own. His face would slowly close in on hers, stopping short of their lips touching. He would whisper those three words she longed so much to hear from him. Hearing them would send a shiver down her spine, even knowing they weren't real. Then their lips would connect and she would wake up.
…
After the first few times, she learned to emotionally prepare for that. She didn't want to end a sobbing mess again, begging Bianca to knock her out or something. Anything to go back to the dream world. Where she could be with him. She's gotten over it now, or least she'd like to think she has
…
Speak of the devil. There he was. With his raven-black hair, his signature red cap and his stupid, charming smile. The same hair she so desperately wants to trace her hand through. The same red cap she wants to playfully steal from him so he would chase her. The same stupid smile she fell in love with. Here he comes.
…
Calm down now Latias, just as you practiced with Cresselia. You know this is a dream, so keep your expectations low!
…
Now that he was standing in front of her, she could see more details on his face. He still had that stupid smile on his face. His blush was interrupted by his striking "z" marks. His auburn eyes seemed so full of love and care. Love and care meant for her and her alone. That thought made her blush. Then she quickly shook her head.
No you idiot! You're not supposed to fall for that. This is just a dream. It's not real!
…
It's not real…
She lowered her head. Her eyes couldn't help but get teary.
It will never be real….
…
The dream seemed to react to her as a hand gently wiped her tears away. She looked up only to be met by those same brown eyes again, still so full of love and care.
…
It's not…
…
"I love you, Latias."
…
Fuck it. If I can't have this in the real world, then let me have this here.
"I love you too, Ash"
…
Their faces drew closer. Latias closed her eyes in anticipation, not of their kiss but of her inevitable awakening in the garden.
Then their lips connected.
…
…
…
…
This was weird. She could still fell his lips on her own. Opening her eyes confirmed that she was still in her dream.
She really should be more worried about not waking up, but she also wasn't about to look a gift Rapidash in the mouth. Curiosity and desire got the better of her, so she decided to close her eyes to deepen the kiss.
When she opened her eyes again the scene had changed. They were still kissing of course, in the middle of the secret garden with Latias now being in her human form.
Dream-Ash was now pulling her closer, one hand on her back the other, much to Latias' shock and delight, firmly grasping her butt. This sudden boldness caused her to gasp, allowing dream-Ash to slip his tongue into her mouth. And as if all that wasn't already enough, he also moved his leg in a way to rub her special spot.
All of this stimulation was quickly overwhelming her both physically and mentally, but she didn't really care. She just wanted this to continue, wanted him to continue.
Then he suddenly broke the kiss. Latias was about to tell him to continue, but was cut short when he began kissing her neck. The hand on her butt found its way into her skirt and panties, moving her hips faster up and down on his leg.
Latias was in heaven. Her mind was beginning to go blank from his onslaught.
"Oh Ash!", she just managed to moan out. She was so close.
That's when she heard a faint voice calling out to her.
"La…as"
She couldn't really concentrate enough on it, nor did she really want to. But the voice was almost as relentless as dream-Ash.
"Latias"
The voice was getting closer, and so was she.
J..just a bit m..ore
"Latias!"
The voice called out in a clearly female voice.
A..almo..st th..there..
"Latias!"
Latias's eyes shot open to the inside of a tree's canopy. The sunrays that got through the leaves landed directly in her face. The morning air filled her lungs. The voice still called out to her. Latias herself was sweating and panting like she's just flown a marathon. And the worst of it all?
She didn't even get to finish. And she was so close. She would just need a few minutes tops. But there was still the issue of the voice calling her. Or rather who it belonged to.
Damn you Azura, couldn't you have waited just one minute?
She needed to get rid of Azura to finish her business, but she couldn't exactly show herself in her current state. She was sweaty beyond belief and a particular part of her body was still leaking. Deciding on a plan, she closed her eyes to concentrate.
Meanwhile, the voice that was calling out to her and the body it belonged to approached the tree Latias was currently hiding in. Another Latias by the name of Azura, derived from the colour of her eyes and necessitated to avoid any misunderstandings. She was a year younger and slightly smaller than Latias. Her voice echoed through the garden.
"Latias! Where are you?"
Rustling to her right alerted Azura to the presence of the one she was looking for. Turning to face her older doppelgänger, she couldn't help but chuckle seeing how dishevelled Latias looked.
Fighting through her giggling she managed to ask.
"Did I wake you up?"
Latias didn't respond right away. She just floated in place, a blush evident on her face.
The lack of response made Azura worry, but those worries quickly faded when the older eon dragoness spoke.
"What do you want?"
Short and to the point. Azura must have woken her up from a really good dream.
"I just wanted to ask how you wanted to divide routes for our patrols today. You know? Because of your meeting"
Again, no immediate response. Was Latias still sleeping perhaps. After a few seconds, her answer came.
"I'll take my usual route; you take the museum and Verde takes the plaza and the main docks."
Azura couldn't help but wonder why Latias wasn't talking more or even emoting much for that matter.
"Hey Tia, are you alri-"
"Yes, now go before I add the sewers to your route."
"EEP!"
And off she went, not noticing "Latias" flickering with a vacant look on her face before vanishing completely.
The real Latias emerged from the canopy shortly afterwards, with a shameful but satisfied expression. As much as she didn't want to admit it, but she couldn't wait to finish after Azura left. If she did she might have had the mental capacity to both make her clone look better and answer more quickly.
But what was done is done and now she needed to clean herself, both mentally and physically. If anyone could smell her, they'd know exactly what she was doing. She also hoped no one would notice the obvious wet patch she left on the branch. Unfortunately for her, a pair of curious eyes witnessed their exchange.
As she quickly made her way to the large water feature in the middle of the garden, her thoughts wandered back to her dream. If it felt this good in her dream, how good would the real thing feel? A smile and a blush crept on her face as she dashed into the water before a sudden realisation hit her and both blush and smile disappeared.
A human and a Pokémon? Could that even work? She knew such relationships weren`t outright illegal, but that didn`t mean they were accepted by the public. People caught in such relationships were looked at in a different light, and rarely a good one.
Even if by some miracle Ash were to reciprocate her feelings, she couldn`t allow that to harm Ash`s reputation, not when he finally achieved his dream.
Deciding she was clean enough, she re-emerged from the water and let a sigh.
One thing she was still wondering about was her dream. She never really thought much about stuff like that, and whenever they did manifest, she quickly shook them off. Maybe that was the problem. All those years of sexual repression finally up to her, and in spectacular fashion no less. Maybe she could let her desires take over from time to time.
Before she could put that thought into practice however, a familiar voice made itself known.
"What's up with you, Tia? First you dash into the water all happy, then you come out looking sad and now you have a blush again. Have you finally gone insane from loneliness?"
Latias turned to face the owner of the voice, who turned out to be non-other than Cresselia, the Lunar Pokémon, Guardian of Dreams and one of her best friends.
…
Wait…. dreams?
Cresselia`s face turned from slightly amused to worried as, instead of answering or even glaring at her, the eon dragoness just stared at her with a thoughtful expression.
"Ehhhh… Latias?"
The gears in Latias` head were turning rapidly. It all made sense now, a pure, innocent maiden like her could never have had such an indecent dream without outside interference. And who could be more qualified to do that than the Guardian of Dreams herself. Not to mention she loved to tease the poor dragon type.
While the pieces were falling into place in Latias' mind, the lunar Pokémon was getting more worried.
"Oh Arceus, the poor girl`s really lost it. LATIAS, WAKE UP!", while she mumbled the first part to herself, the second part was loud enough to wake up a Snorlax.
"E-eh? What?", was all she could manage before Cresselia continued.
"What's up with you today? Thinking of a certain someone again?"
She adopted her usual teasing tone for that last question. So much for being worried.
But it did give Latias an idea.
"No, I was just thinking about a dream I had this morning."
Cresselia smiled at that. Dreams were her speciality after all.
"Well, I do hope it was pleasant dream.", she said with smile. A smile that Latias could swear held a tint of smugness. Enough evidence for her.
"I knew it! It was you!", Latias cried out to a confused looking Cresselia.
"What are you talki-"
"I never had such a dream before, so why would it start now. And then you just conveniently show up here with that smug grin on your face, knowing exactly what I did. All just to tease me like you always do. And worst of all, YOU DIDN`T EVEN LET ME FINISH IN THE DREAM! I bet you also sent Azura to annoy me even more!"
Quite the uncharacteristic outburst for Latias, but it had to be said. Always teasing her was one thing but making her have a wet dream only to end it before the climax was too much.
"Tia, what in the Distortion World are you talking about?"
Suddenly all that confidence she gained from her outburst went down the drain.
"Th..the dream I had this morning…. you caused it didn't you?"
Her friend couldn't help but chuckle.
"Tia, I don't control what people dream about. I just make sure those dreams are pleasant ones."
Oh…
"What kind of dream did you have to cause that kind of reaction?"
Oh Arceus…
"And what did you mean with `you didn't get to finish´?"
Oh no…
Latias really played herself, didn't she?
She was now nothing more than a blushing mess, waiting for her friend to figure out what she meant and tease her relentlessly.
But the teasing never came. All she heard was a quiet "oh". Looking over to meet the gaze of her friend, she was surprised to find Cresselia blushing almost as much as her.
Nothing was said for a solid minute until Cresselia finally managed to ask very quietly.
"S ..so you w..were dreaming about th..that…"
"Yeah… Wait, if you aren't here because of that then why are you here so early?"
Cresselia's voice regained some of its volume, but she was still blushing when she answered.
"I just wanted to accompany you on your patrol today…"
"Oh…"
At a decently sized lake in Kanto, Ash was having his own weird dreams, most starring himself and a girl he doesn't know in various romantic situations. At least that's what he could gather from his very, very, very limited knowledge on the topic.
As for the mysterious girl, he couldn't see her face clearly but what he could see was her long, messy looking, white hair with red highlights sprinkled in. He couldn't get his eyes off it. It reminded him so much of her.
And just when they were about to kiss, he woke up. Somewhat disappointed and plenty confused, he looked around to find Pikachu still sleeping. He looked at his Pokedex for the time.
6:30 in the morning.
He sighed. That's what he gets for going to bed early last night.
But it did give him the opportunity to continue with some training he had been neglecting.
He quietly searched through his backpack for Lucario's ball and his training gloves. Having found both, he made his way outside while trying not to wake up Pikachu. His normal thundershocks were already painful, imagine one fired out of anger or annoyance.
Once outside, he took in his surroundings. A heavy fog covered most of the lake, so he couldn't see if any Pokémon were present. The lingering silence was more of a give-away, safe for the occasional rustling of leaves.
He went closer to the lake and splashed some water in his face.
"Nothing better to get the gears going than some cold, fresh water.", he mused to himself, although his yellow companion would surely have disagreed.
The next step was getting his training partner out and up to speed. The ball was thrown into the air and in a flash the blue jackal Pokémon materialised in front of Ash, still yawning.
"I know it's early Lucario, but I thought maybe we could do our training again. What do you say?"
Hearing the mention of their training, Lucario perked up. All the sleepiness seemingly vanished from his body as he put his fist up.
"Luca Lucario!"
"That's what I like to hear!"
Ash was quite excited himself. It's been quite some since their last training session and even longer since Riley taught him. Hopefully he wasn't too rusty.
"Okay, let me just put on my gloves and then we can start."
"Lucario!"
Back in Altomare, Latias and Cresselia were currently in their human disguises, walking along one of its many canals. Latias' look didn't change much, except that she was now wearing a light brown beret much like Bianca's. Cresselia had long, blond, wavy hair, that reached to down to her butt. Her bangs kept the waviness but changed to a purple colour. She wore a dark purple, long-sleeved crop top and light blue skinny jeans, that accentuated her figure. Unlike Latias, Cresselia opted for a much curvier disguise.
Truth be told she just liked the looks she was getting from people and Pokémon alike.
They were walking in silence ever since they left the garden, both still embarrassed by their earlier exchange.
After 6 agonisingly quiet minutes, they finally reached the first stop of Latias' patrol.
"A bridge?", Cresselia's question finally broke the silence.
Bridges were a necessary part of the city of canals and were so abundant that most weren't anything special. Most of the famous bridges were along the canal, where the Tour de Altomare would pass through every year.
The bridge in front of the two disguised Legendaries was no such bridge. It was quite a small one used to cross one of the many side-canals that littered the city. It was a small, single-arched bridge, adorned with an incomplete mosaic of some sort, alluding to its age. Passage under it was obstructed by ornate looking iron bars, the purpose of which seemed to elude them both.
Confusion was evident on Cresselia's face; out of the hundreds of bridges Altomare had to offer both its residents and tourists, why would Latias want to go to this one in particular?
Noticing the look of confusion on her friend's face, Latias decided to break her part of the silence.
"This is the bridge, where Ash saved me from these two women, who were after the Soul Dew. I didn't really care to remember their names."
"So this is where your obsession with that human started."
Expecting a flustered denial from the disguised dragon, Cresselia was surprised to find her giving off a stern look.
"His name is Ash and I'd appreciate it if you could refer to him as such"
Latias sure was full of surprises today.
"A..also, I'm n..not o..obssessed with h..him…"
Nevermind. Still the same Latias.
"But doesn't this bridge always remind you of that attack?"
"Of course, but then I remember how he rushed to my aid and even shrugged off a psychic attack! Imagine that"
Imagine that indeed. Even if it was only meant to drive him away, it must have hurt.
Thankfully, the next stop on their patrol was only one minute away. Walking through the narrow alleyways, the pair arrived at a decently sized plaza with a small canal separating it into two halves. They crossed a small walkway to the other side, where they stopped at a drinking fountain.
Cresselia took the chance to get a drink, while Latias just looked at it, remembering the time she opened it for Pikachu. A small smile crept on her face.
Then she looked at the spot, where he stood all those years ago. Remembering how close she got to his face made her blush. She was so young back then, so innocent. And yet something about the raven haired seemed to have entranced her. Now she couldn't get him off her mind.
"You done thinking about your knight in shining armour?"
Her blush intensified, but she elected to ignore both it and Cresselia.
"Yes, let's get going to the last spot, before the others show up."
And so they made their way to said last spot. The dock were Latias was sitting not even 24 hours ago.
"Let me guess, this is where you said goodbye to this Ash?"
Latias didn't answer. Instead she just stared out into the ocean, a single tear rolling down her cheek. That didn't go unnoticed by Cresselia.
"I.. uhm.. I'll be waiting by the benches. Just... don't take too much time. We don't want to make the girls wait too long. Right?"
Not expecting to get an answer, Cresselia just left her alone.
After a few silent seconds, Latias put her hands together, as if praying.
Please Arceus, let me see him just one more time.
There we have it. The second chapter.
Hopefully my quality control is still up to standards.
Initially I wanted to fit waaaayyy more into this chapter, but I was feeling bad for not updating in so long. So I made the decision to split my original plan into two, meaning the mysterious meeting and Ash's training will have to wait for next chapter.
I also wanted to thank everyone for all the follows and favourites and for the reviews. I really didn't expect to get this much positive feedback, so that's a huge motivation boost to continue.
Speaking of which, just a heads up but I'm notoriously lazy so updates will be slow, but I'll still try to update at least once a month (hopefully).
Anyway that's all from me.
See you next chapter.
