Episode 6: Rescue Kyoko!

(ring, ring) (click) "Lastation Basilicom, Noire speaking... WHAT?!" Noire shot up from her desk. "What happened...?! ...that means Lilithmon got them, oh no... wait, there was supposed to be a detective with them, blonde hair... no idea? (sigh) All right, I'll be there as soon as I can... wait, what about Hackmon? I mean, the dog wearing a red cape? He's at the vet? Okay, I'll call Uni to go pick him up. Thank you. Bye." Hanging up, she exited her office, calling out, "Kei!"

"Yes, Lady Noire?" the Oracle promptly answered the summons. "...based on your expression, it seems Miss Kuremi's investigation ended badly."

"That's an understatement! Ciel and the others got put in the hospital! And that Kyoko was nowhere to be found..."

"Which means she was likely abducted by Lilithmon," Kei supplied. "And given Miss Kuremi's... state of dress, it's likely that the Demon Lord of Lust took her to... satisfy her urges, so to speak."

"I can't believe you could say something like that so casually. She's probably being raped as we speak!" Noire lamented.

"Did you not hire me for my ability to remain cool under pressure at all times?" Kei pointed out. "While I agree that Miss Kuremi being sexually assaulted is quite undesirable, flying off the handle will not help in affecting a rescue of any sort, Lady Noire."

"...right, you're right," Noire nodded, taking a deep breath to calm herself and focus. "Okay, call the Guild and see if Uni's still there; if she is, tell her to go to the vet's office nearby the hospital to pick up Hackmon. And have Agent Duane go with her, and have both return here. If we're going to save Kyoko, we're going to need to possibly try and swipe her from under that demon's nose. Anyway, I'm going to the hospital to check on Ciel and the others. You're in charge until I get back!"

"As you wish, Lady Noire," Kei bowed, before heading off to make the call...

*Elsewhere...*

Kyoko moaned as her senses slowly returned to her, feeling awfully drafty... (Wait... am I naked?) Her eyes blinked open, the detective realizing she was bound in a spread-eagle position on a soft bed of sorts! (Is this... a hotel room?) She pulled at her hands and feet to no avail.

"Well, look who's awake," said a familiar voice, Kyoko turning her head to see Lilithmon enter. "Mmm, this reminds me of when Merlin and I first met... although he had a cute panicked expression on his face..."

"Do what you will, Demon Lord," Kyoko said defiantly. "You won't hear me beg for mercy."

"Oh, what a brave face you're putting on," Lilithmon chuckled, before her clothes suddenly dissolved, climbing onto the bed next to her captive. "And frankly, I don't care if you beg for your life or not. But I will make you scream..." She promptly wrapped her body around Kyoko's, kissing the blonde deeply as she began to move in ways no child should ever see...

*At the hospital*

"So how are they, doctor?" Noire asked the NPC.

"Well, Sisters Ciel and Noir both have bruised backs and concussions on the rear of the skull," the doctor replied solemnly. "Their lives aren't in danger, but they'll need a few days before they're discharged."

"What about Blanc, the younger sister?" Noire pressed.

"Her face was bruised, broken nose, suffered a bad blow to the stomach, enough to cough blood," the doctor answered. "She's going to be holed up here a bit longer, I'm afraid. She was conscious on the way to the hospital, but she seemed quite distraught, so we sedated her once she arrived here, for her own safety. Kept saying something about a detective..."

"Kyoko Kuremi. Ciel and the others were supposed to be escorting her," Noire said. "But it looks like she might have been abducted. I've already told my Oracle to contact the Guild about that. Can I see Ciel or Noir, at least?"

"I wouldn't recommend it," the doctor shook his head. "Even if they regain consciousness, they're going to be in quite a bit of pain. I would say come back tomorrow. But I'll let them know you came by, Lady Noire."

"...All right, you do that," Noire acquiesced with a disappointed expression. "In that case, I'll go see if I can touch base with Uni and the Guild..."

*Some time later...*

Merlin approached the bedroom with a grim expression on his face, halting at the door, able to hear the telltale sounds of Lilithmon getting it on, as well as the moans and cries of her victim... he could only shake his head- she wasn't going to like this. Patiently waiting until the moans had subsided somewhat, he gently knocked at the door... "My lady, I need to talk with you. It's urgent."

"Oh, for..." he heard from inside, promptly moving back a step and a half. Soon the door opened, Lilithmon dressed once more as she shut said door behind her. "What is so important that you need to interrupt my fun?"

"Ah... it's DinoBeemon," Merlin sighed. "I was training him in the fields south of here, when he began asking about what kinds of magic I knew... I made the mistake of telling him that I had no levitation spells..."

"At which point, he flew away because he knew you couldn't catch him," Lilithmon finished. "I am displeased, Merlin... I thought you of all people would be smarter than that. Which direction did he fly off?"

"To the southeast," Merlin responded curtly.

"I see... then I will have to retrieve DinoBeemon myself," the succubus nodded to herself... before suddenly stomping down hard on Merlin's foot, causing the mage to cry out in pain as he fell to a kneeling position. "This is the first time you've screwed up, so I will leave your punishment at that. Now then, while I'm gone, you need to keep an eye on my toy here. If she gets thirsty, give her water, but nothing else. Surely you can manage something as simple as that." Brushing past him, she went to the window and opened it, before jumping out and spreading her wings, flying off to the south.

"-Yes, my lady," Merlin grunted in pain as he nursed his foot. (Had it been me, I would have simply killed this woman and be done with it... but I really don't feel like incurring Lilithmon's wrath any more than I already have...)

*Back at the Basilicom*

"Okay, so that Merlin had a bounded field around the hotel which tripped when you and the others got too close," Noire reiterated what Hackmon had told her, Uni and Brian Duane standing with the Digimon. "That's how Lilithmon knew you were there, and ambushed you."

"Yeah, we really messed up," Hackmon shook his head.

"Don't beat yourself up too much. There was no way you could've known about that!" Uni insisted.

"She's right. There was one time I was forced to abandon infiltrating a mafia hideout because there was a security measure I'd overlooked, and almost got swarmed by armed men as a result," Brian added. "Even the Batman from the comics isn't infallible."

"I think that's part of why he's got so many fans," Uni nodded. "Because you can tell that he's only human, but doing his best regardless... and I think you've been doing a great job taking up the cowl."

"Yeah, that's why I called you here," Noire spoke up again. "Now that we know about the bounded field, surely the Guild has a method to keep it from detecting a person, right?"

"I'm not sure, but I'll ask tech support if they have anything," Brian nodded. "Wait, are you expecting me to try and rescue this kidnapped detective?"

"As things are right now, trying to take that Lilithmon head-on would be a hopeless boss fight," Noire stated. "But I thought that if someone could sneak in under cover of darkness, we might be able to rescue her from under that demon lord's nose..."

"If we had a piece of clothing that detective wore, I could probably sniff her out," Hackmon suggested.

"I'm not confident about this," Brian shook his head. "If she so much as spots me, I'm dead. Or turned into her new rape toy at best."

"What about that device Miss Detective was using to try and find Lilithmon?" Hackmon said. "If you had that, you could pinpoint her location and evade her entirely! I'm sure the police grabbed it as evidence, so just use your Guild creds to borrow it from them!"

"You've been paying attention. Good boy," Duane couldn't help but smile. "But if we don't have a way to bypass the bounded field, it's a moot point..."

"Well, we've got a few hours before nighttime, so head back to the Guild and see what they've got for that, if anything," Noire instructed. "Uni, you go with Hackmon to the detective agency and see if Kyoko left her scent on something, so Hackmon can track her down."

"Sure thing, big sister," Uni nodded. "Um, but Hackmon, didn't you get hurt too?"

"She just backhanded me into a brick wall. I'm still a little sore, but I can go," the Digimon replied. "This is my chance to try and make up for our epic failure yesterday..."

"Well, just don't get in over your head, got it?" Noire said sternly. "Last thing I need is you getting deleted because you charged in without thinking!"

"I know better than that. Master Gankoomon always said to never charge into an obvious trap," Hackmon asserted.

"Sage advice," Brian chuckled.

*And so, that night...*

Hackmon and Brian Duane, the latter now suited up as Batman, cautiously approached the hotel where Lilithmon was likely holed up. "There's the alley where where she clobbered us," the former indicated, having a small device hooked onto the collar of his scarf.

"All right, let's see if this thing works," Batman, the duo approaching said alley... the device on Hackmon's neck lit up red, before turning to a green color. "Good, seems it prevented the bounded field from alerting them. That's one obstacle cleared." They proceeded to the corner of the hotel itself, Batman pulling out Kyoko's wave-reading device and scanning the building. "...I'm not picking up anything. Does that mean she's not there?"

"Or maybe we're too far away," Hackmon pointed out.

"Possible. In that case..." Putting the device away, Batman picked up Hackmon in one arm before shooting off his grapple gun with the other, hooking onto the hotel's roof and getting pulled up, before stopping about halfway. "Seems you're a bit heavy," he grunted, bracing his feet on the wall.

"No worries, I can climb the rest of the way myself!" Hackmon promptly jumped out of Batman's grip, his claws digging into the wall as he began to climb, using windowsills as temporary paw-holds. Divested of the extra weight, Batman's grapple pulled him the rest of the way to the roof, the crusader pulling himself over the edge and waiting for Hackmon to join him which he eventually did. "Phew, that was a little scary. But we're here. Now what?"

Batman took out the digital wave scanner again. "...Still no reaction. Lilithmon's either not there, or on one of the middle floors. We'll have to check floor-by-floor. Let me know if you catch Kuremi's scent. And remember to keep your voice down."

"Right, I got it," Hackmon whispered. "Let's go then!" And so the duo headed for the door leading down into the hotel proper... Finding nothing on the top floor, they took the stairs down to the next level... "Wait, I think I smell her!"

"Already? Must be in one of the suites, then," Batman mused. Just to be sure, he pulled out the digital wave scanner once more... "Still nothing. It should have detected her by now, which means..."

"She's not here. Maybe she went out on the town to um, satisfy herself? Maybe she got bored with the detective..."

"Even so, we should hurry," Batman asserted, Hackmon following the scent to a suite door which was locked. "Looks like it needs a card key. Good thing I have this..." Batman pulled out another device, which went to work hacking the electronic lock... after a few seconds, the light on the reader lit up green. "We're in. Let's go. And you might wanna change into your bigger form out here."

"Right," Hackmon nodded, quickly digivolving to his champion form in a flash of light. Once said light had dissipated, Batman opened the door, the two sneaking inside... it wasn't long before they encountered a man sitting on a chair by another door, seemingly asleep. "It's that Merlin guy," Bao Hackmon whispered.

"Kyoko Kuremi must be beyond that door," Batman whispered back. "Keep an eye on him. If he rouses, tackle him and pin him down."

"Got it," Hackmon nodded, the duo quietly approaching the mage... but he remained asleep, only snoring a little. Batman tried the door and found it unlocked, so he quickly ducked into the room and shut the door behind him, before turning to scan said room, quickly spotting Kyoko tied to the bed, still naked. (Looks like she's only got a few scratches here and there... some blood on her shoulder, but it seems like just a flesh wound. No vaginal bruising, which means Merlin likely didn't have a turn with her.) It was a small comfort. After a moment's consideration, he pulled back his cowl to expose his face, leaning over and gently shaking Kyoko's shoulder... the blonde soon roused, gasping as he beheld Brian's face, the agent putting a finger to his lips. "Kyoko Kuremi?"

"Y-yes... who are you?"

"I'm with the Lastation Guild. I'm gonna get you out of here, but I need you to stay quiet."

"No... if she finds you here-"

"I've got backup. He's keeping an eye on Merlin in case he wakes up," Brian assured her. "Hold still while I cut you loose..." He took out a serrated Batarang.

"Is that what I think it is...?" Kyoko gasped.

"That's right. I'm Batman." With a smirk, he pulled the cowl back down as he got to work cutting... fortunately the rope wasn't quite as tough as it looked, being cut apart after about 15-20 seconds, Batman then moving down to the adjacent leg... After a few terse minutes, all the ropes had been cut, Batman helping Kyoko to sit upright. "Can you walk? I know that demon lord must've done a number on you..."

"I should be able to..." Kyoko swung her legs over and slowly stood up with Batman supporting her. "Yes, I should be all right..." but then a breeze from the window suddenly blew some of her hair into her face. "Ah... ah-CHOO!"

"Grk-!" Merlin grunted as he jerked awake- before suddenly getting tackled to the floor by Bao Hackmon! "What the-?!"

"One wrong move and I burn your face off!" Hackmon threatened the mage. "Batman, you got her?!"

"I got her! Just keep him pinned for a minute!" Batman answered, quickly exiting the bedroom and running out of the suite with Kyoko in tow.

"Radiant!" Merlin called out, a bright flash erupting from his body which caused Hackmon to flinch, allowing the mage to shove him off and retrieve his staff, blasting the Digimon away! Regaining his feet, Merlin intoned, "Freeze Arrow!" Several large icicles were conjured, closing in on Hackmon...

"Burn Flame!" Bao Hackmon breathed flames that reduced the ice to water, splashing against him harmlessly. "Teen Blade!" he intoned next, lasing out with his bladed tail, barely missing Merlin's face by millimeters!

"Graviton!" Merlin called, Hackmon getting slammed to the floor by increased gravity. "Even if you freed that woman, you'll make a nice consolation- gah!" He cried as a Batarang was hurled into his face!

"Hackmon, get out of there!" Batman called.

"Just a sec-!" Hackmon said with gritted teeth, breathing another Burn Flame at Merlin, the mage crying out as his robes were set aflame, falling to the floor and rolling to try and extinguish himself. But this nulled the Graviton spell, Hackmon regaining his feet as he reverted to his Rookie form, he and Batman promptly fleeing the room.

"Argh! No!" Merlin grunted as he finally put the fire out, getting back to his feet... but then he heard sirens, seeing a few police cars pulling up to the hotel. "The police too?! Curses! I must flee! Teleport!" He promptly vanished in a flash of light. Lilithmon would certainly NOT be pleased...

*Down at street level...*

A medic was checking Kyoko over, who was now clad in a modestly cloak, Batman conferring with the police lieutenant. "I gotta say, good work. Really wasn't expecting to be meeting Batman tonight... I got the call to move on the motel, apparently on Lady Noire's orders..."

"Probably hedging her bets in case something went wrong," Batman deduced, Hackmon at his side. "Fortunately we only had to deal with her subordinate Merlin, Lilithmon herself was out for some reason. Even if your men don't find Merlin, she'll likely be forced to find a new hideout. And Lady Uni mentioned that her sister would be willing to call in the other CPUs if the situation gets dire enough. And it's a fact that Lilithmon can't stand against all the goddesses at once..."

"Which is why she's been hiding since her attempt to nuke Lastation was foiled," the lieutenant said.

"Actually, that was her old subordinate, but close enough," Batman corrected.

"Well, next time, we'll be ready for her!" Hackmon spoke up.

"What the-?!" the policeman almost jumped in shock. "Did your dog just talk?!"

"He's not my dog. And he's not from around here," Batman shook his head. "But he did help pinpoint Kuremi's location. He's a bit impulsive, but his heart's in the right place."

"Y, yeah, what he said," Hackmon grunted, looking embarrassed at having blown his cover.

"Your Guild's not picky about who they recruit, huh?" the lieutenant said with a raised eyebrow.

"You could say that..."

*Somewhere in South Lastation*

DinoBeemon cried in pain as a foot was driven painfully into his back. "Did you really think you could escape me? I warned you what would happen, didn't I?" Lilithmon growled. "Who is your master? Say it!"

"You are! You are my master!" DinoBeemon wailed. "Have mercy!"

"...I will give you ONE more chance," the Demon Lord hissed as she grabbed DinoBeemon's head with her claw. "You pull something like this again, I will rip you apart slowly piece by piece. Do you understand, insect?"

"Yes! Yes, I understand!" the insect Digimon cried. Just then, a flash was seen nearby, resolving into Merlin's form.

"Well, this can't be good," Lilithmon muttered as she hauled DinoBeemon back to his feet, before turning to the mage- and doing a double-take at his burned clothes. "What happened?"

"Ambushed while I was sleeping," Merlin sighed. "I tried to fight back, but it was two against one... Hackmon I could have handled on my own, but..."

"Hackmon? So who was the other one?" Lilithmon pressed.

"You're not going to believe this... it was the freaking Batman."

"Batman? THE Batman?! As in the comic book superhero?" Lilithmon said in disbelief.

"Saw him with my own eyes. He even threw a Batarang in my face!" Merlin insisted.

"...I see. Well, I suppose I can't fault you if you were caught off-guard by him of all people," Lilithmon sighed. "Those injuries you've suffered will be punishment enough. But now your next task is to find a new hideout for us. DinoBeemon and I will hide in cyberspace until you've found a suitable place. Are you up to that task?"

"I should be," Merlin grunted. "But I'm thinking we should hide in one of the neighboring cities until things die down a bit. After all, you can use cyberspace to transport to that portal in no time, can you not?"

"...I suppose. Fine, do as you propose. But try not to take too long, understand? Let's go, DinoBeemon," Lilithmon said, flying off with the insect Digimon in tow.

"Yes, my lady..." Merlin sighed, before vanishing in another teleport.
