Chapter 7: To the Rescue
Five years ago...
In a playground, that is surrounded by tall buildings, a small boy happens to be Gus, who wearing a blue shirt and jeans, with black shoes. A nice-looking lady gently pushes the little boy outside. "You can't keep sitting classroom Augustus, have fun and make friends."
He seems to be walking through the place until spots two big boys messing with a girl, in a red dress, holding her ribbon.
"Give it back you jerks or telling on you!" She shouted and jumped down trying to grab her ribbon.
"Oh yes, something that so girlish makes you a girl, and who gonna you believe makeup story!" One of the boys shouts as they laugh.
Then both felt hit in the back, suddenly ants crawling all over them making both itching, running off while kept on itching all over their body. The girl sees her ribbon on the ground and then spots a boy wiping off some sand and mud on his lower pants.
"It's you...Thank you..." She said with a smile.
"No problem, my Mama D always says helping others is a greater award!" He said with a smile. "Need help tying your ribbon back on?"
The girl nodded, both sitting on a bench, the boy began to tie the ribbon. "So what do they mean about make-believe story?"
She looks down, and slowly kicks her feet. "Well, going back home in my car with my parents, another car was about to crash into us, but in a blink second, we were home, I know sounded weird, but someone saved us cause my house was at least five blocks away."
Gus finished tying and the girl now had a ponytail. "Oh really..."
The girl looks away with a frown. "I know it sounds..."
"I believe you," Gus responded making her look at him. "People always say some others think either stupid or crazy, I say those have honesty in their eyes, you're one of those people."
The girl smiled at him believing in her. "Thanks, really appreciated."
Gus turns to her. "No problem...can we be friends? My name's Augustus D. Porter, but everyone called me Gus." He raises his hand.
She shakes his hand. "Sure...my name is Fiona wanna meet the others?"
The nice lady sees from the window and smiles at the moment. 'Those bullies will be punished, although, Augustus's grades really improving."
The RV travels to a big city, which happens to be New York, each one having to smile on their face, well...except for one, looking at the place with wonders of this place change, since whole new hero saving the day all the time.
"So Gus, how's feel back in your stomping grounds," Luz said to her friend who looked in the window.
Willow and King looked at him. "Stomping grounds? You born here?" she asked
Gus looked at them. "More like raised here, when I was four, my dad got a job here, so we moved for the time being, It's not so much fun being a smart kid, but I'm lucky I made friends here in my age...we go out through the place with our parents time after time, until at age of nine, we moved back home to Gatefield. I'm glad 'cause I missed my Mama D and meeting you guys." smiled at them.
The others smiled, Eda "Heh you are a one-of-a-kind kid, so let's stop by and get something for breakfast,"
Gus's eyes opened and smiled. "No need, just parked there,"
Eda parked the RV with the other big cars, Gus came out and smiled seeing the same store hadn't changed one bit. He and others came in seeing a decent store, with delicious treats, especially serving breakfast donuts.
"Oh my goodness, Augustus Porter, is that you?" spoke an elderly lady with white hair, tan skin, and brown eyes. Green collar shirt with white apron, blue pants, and white sandals.
Gus smiled at her. "Ms. Sanders!" He looks at the gang. "Guys, meet Ms. Sanders, a nice lady who owner of the store and so does her husband, who makes the finest donuts," Seeing a gray cat with a pink collar, he pets it. "Good see you again Whiskers."
Whiskers loves the petting until spots King who is in his cat form, both spot each other until Whiskers gets hearts in her eyes. King started to panic, "Weh!" he ran off while Whiskers chased him causing everyone to laugh at this.
Gus looked at Ms. Sanders. "Ms. Sanders, just two boxes of the finest donuts, and two packs of three-flavor milk! We are happy to eat outside the table."
"You got it, hon, Augustus is back!" Ms. Sanders called out to the back.
"Really, oh boy I miss that little guy," Mr. Sanders.
Willow wonders, look at the boy. "Gus, why two? We can't eat that much,"
Gus turned to them. "Actually, the second is for my friends," He smiled at them. "I be right back."
He walked through the park just near the store, if he was correct, they might be here...made it to the merry-go-round spot total of four kids.
"Alright gang, we needed some scoops, any news you got?"
Gus spoke with a smile. "Maybe an old friend came back for a summer." All of them froze and turned to the boy who waved nervously. "Hey guys,"
All three froze then charged at Gus with big smiles. "GUS!/YOU BACK!/WE MISS YOU!"
Gus can't take it, he lets out tears while smiling. "GUYS!"
They hug each other, separated, Gus takes a good look at them. "You guys really have grown up! Gabby, you are now taller! Still doing the whole writing?"
Gabby, a tall girl with brown hair, tan skin, and green eyes, wearing a white collar button-up with a blue sleeve sweater, blue pants, and black sandals. Wearing a dark pink scarf around her neck. "It's really getting past the time,"
Gus looked at the big kid with white skin, black hair, and brown eyes, wearing a green and white baseball shirt, short khaki pants, and brown shoes. "Edward, I see got new glasses,"
Edward fixes his glasses. "It's help me see,"
The boy sees the last girl who happens to look monstrous, having long messy hair, brown skin, and green eyes. Wearing a yellow hoodie, blue pants, and red sneakers. Having a white band-aid on her nose. "Patty, still trying to get everyone the creeps?"
"You have no idea," Patty said with a smirk showing her sharp teeth.
Gus gives out another hug. "It's good to see you guys again. I heard you guys started a newspaper group in some news company...who's in charge,"
"That will be me, Gus,"
Gus alarmed, turned to the final member who did not join the hug, it was a girl with dark skin, gray eyes, and dark brown hair formed into two braided ponytails. She has on red sleeve collar shirt underneath is a red shirt, blue cuff shorts, and black shoes. Having a blue cap hat that turns backwards, she looks annoyed with armed crossed. "You... you in charge of this group Fiona?"
The others chuckle, holding their laughter at that name, and she growls. "Don't call me, called me of this city knows women in business, Flip." The last word with a smirk.
Gus raises his eyebrow. "Flip? I know you can make a better nickname than that Fiona," The friends can't help but laugh out loud.
Flip growls. "Just shut it," She looks at Gus. "Why are you here?!"
"Told you, came here in summer vacation, traveling through the state, we got catch up on, wanna come along to the store, my friends and caretaker is there, I got a box of donuts and a pack of flavor milk, you guys hungry? Gus asked
At the store, everyone enjoys their breakfast especially Gus and his friends at their own table, who are busy chatting and eating.
Gus eats his twisted donut. "Hmm, I miss this!"
Patty drinks her strawberry milk. "I know, they really improve every time,"
While chatting and eating, Luz, Willow, Eda, and even King looked at them, and all of them each one smiled at the boy.
"Our little Gus...has friends his age," Luz said making a cute smile.
"Well just hope this lasts long," Willow replied
"Heh, let's have a day in this city, we leave him to them," Eda states as she stands up. "Hey kid," Gus turned to her. "We are busy getting stuff in the mall, you can enjoy the time with them in the city,"
Gus seeing them drove off and turned the others. "Well, we got whole day...anything in mind?"
"Well a new hero in town, ever heard of Superman," Flip said making others smile.
"Superman? Oh yeah, he's the newest hero skyrocket in media, calling him, Man of Steel, Man of Tomorrow, etc," Gus said finishing his breakfast. "So what we do in time being, not a guy for a stay in one place,"
"Well, we got our own secret HQ if you wanna see, even not from the city, you are still part of the group," Edward replied with a smile.
"Are you guys sure, it's our own place," Flip said looking at her gang.
"Yeah, Gus is our friend Flip, come on...let's go see a cool place!" Patty shouts with excitement as she jumps on her chair.
"Thanks, guys, lead the way," Gus responds when cleaning up their mess. "But first, let me grab my bag,"
The kids got to leave the place, unaware that, two people dressed in gray suits with shades simply drank coffee on the opposite side of the sidewalk, on a bench.
One of them places his hand on his ear and turns on his earpiece. "Sir, we detected two magic radars from the store, and left the place...in an RV...radar in level 12 and level 40."
"Level 40...seem we got a major threat, one of you stay close to the threat and other to another one." Spoke the grown manly voice.
At the mall entrance, Eda opened up her shop, having the remaining crystal jewels, and some alien stuff. "Enjoy your time girls 'cause I gonna make sure to get some cash!"
"Alright, Willow...maybe I joined your training, needed to get these arms some muscles," Luz said patting her arms.
"Alright, but I warn ya...my training is a bit intense, let's go get you some clothes ya," Willow replied hugging Luz on the shoulder.
Eda turns to King. "King, time for some changing..."
King was alarmed, he groaned at knowing what kind of clothes she thinking of. 'Oh no...'
Just coming out of the...ground, is a creepy hand that looks like a skeleton.
Gus sees the place, it's the top of the building, with a rectangular prism stone with a stair, with the colorful letters that say 'News KidLegion!"
The place has four sections; the place of a pink string with few supplies on the desk, green dinosaur stickers on the walls and books on the clear desk, messy coloring books on a floor with papers all over, and last, a table with just papers and markers, most importantly.
"So what do you think?" Gabby asked
Gus smiled at this. "Wow, you guys really take this newspaper group to a new level."
Flip smiled, came in grabbed something from her desk. "Well, we surely trying to make a big part of the Bugel, we gotta show them...This!" Show him the newspaper that was handmade. "The Newskid Newspaper, latest from us, shows this city we're a serious business, Edward does the puzzle, Patty does the op-ed, Gabby does the cartoons only because she wants," The Last words muttering, then smiled. "And I'm the editor!"
The boy looked at it. "Whoa, so cool, can I see it?"
Flip hand it to Gus, who simply flips through the pages, each one makes the boy a little bit confused. "I can see it, what's going on?"
"I like it guys but something that little problem," Gus answered looking at his friends. "Patty you got loads of decoration that can't see the words, Edward, your puzzle bit too easy, everyone likes a challenge and makes their day, Gabby your part is...messy and random pictures, I know you like it, but needed to be clean and orderly."
Gus's pointers make them see the realization of their newspaper, Flip looked at him with her arms crossed. "Well, what are we gonna huh?"
"Well..." Gus said pulling out his bag and showing his laptop. "I see a printer in here, I can be your graphic designer, we can make it better than ever! So, like the old days?"
Gus held out his hand, Edward simply placed his hand first, Patty on top with a gentle touch, and Gabby smacked her hand down cause Patty glared at her. The last one is Flip who looks at the hand formation, with a puzzled look, she sighs and places her hand on top.
"Fine, but this time..." Flip said looking dead in the eyes to Gus. "Don't bell on us,"
Gus smiled at her. "I promise, we can make it great together,"
At the RV, Eda is busy selling jewelry to the ladies, even cute alien mushy to the kids, once everyone departed, Eda smirks at collecting tons of money. "Men, the Dweebus really made me a lot of cash, you the frog alien in the knitting machine for small teddy bears."
King was busy hugging a cute Sic'em mushy. "Hey, called a mushy, really need more,"
"Heh, I think enough for today 'cause we run out," Eda said placing the money in her box. "We closing down,"
"An excellent idea for once you in your life..." Spoke most creepest soar tone
Eda's eyes widened in shock, she felt her neck get grabbed, lifted a few feet in the air, and slammed to the side of the RV, once made contact, five small holes around Eda's neck. Appear is a creepy ghost that shows gray skin with black inside, having, and having one purple eye. He has a black cloak that is wrapped around him, with chains that are from around him.
"Hello...Edalyn," He spoked.
Eda glared at this ghost and spoke that name in pure hate. "Zs'Skayr."
In the gym, Willow is in her workout outfit with Luz who has on a dark purple sports bra, black leggings, and white sneakers.
Willow lifted some weights, lifted them up and down with her legs. "So...how...your...training?"
Luz seems to be jogging on a treadmill. "Well, my magic training really takes on using my talismans, but using my energy really useful now...but I hope for my own staff to finally crack, see my friend for life."
"Eda says the only way to get the egg to hatch is to find what your desire is, what is your true way of being a witch," Willow replied as she stopped, taking a breath.
Luz looked around, she looked at her necklace and belt...she wanna do magic in love with Good Witch Azura, the adventure, her whole allies, really similar to hers...she is writing her own story but she something that needed in her life, or maybe...someone.
"Well...think gets some muscles in my nerdy arms," Luz said looking at the weight lifting.
"Huh Luz, are you sure, 'cause has least hundred ten," Willow replied seeing Luz begin to sit.
"I can handle this level," Luz replied as she lifted the bar. "What possibly go-"
But once she fully lifted the weights, only to have Luz begin to struggle with the weights, Willow quickly went behind her and grabbed the bar. Both accidentally use their powers; Willow absorbs the metal making her hands gray, and Luz summons her purple energy orb to lift the weights up easily. Unaware to both certain one was watching them the whole time, as thus an alarm came on, and everyone left in a hurry.
They placed the weight back, Luz looked up. "A fire?"
"Well, we going to stop it, all we needed call-" Willow said stopping by quick moment.
Both of them suddenly got grabbed electric rope that shocked them, making them go down, seeing a gray suit man with black shades looked at them with a frown.
"You just need to sleep," He spoke through a gray tech ball which released smoke.
In News KidLegion, the whole gang works hard on their new improved newspaper; Gabby makes sure to find any important that catches the readers' attention, and Edward hits the books, finding sentences for readers find hard and funny, Patty makes sure her drawing is clean and order just like Gus says, Flip is writing down something that will make their newspaper noticed them.
Gus finished designing on his computer. "Alright guys, time to finish this!"
As so, everyone put all their work into the newspaper, each of them making sure this one might be excited for the city. Now the boy prints out their new improved papers, a total of twenty-five pages, placing them in a folder. "Guys! The News KidLegion Newspaper is done!"
Everyone smiled and chatted about their accomplishment, Gus gave the folder to Flip, who smiling at it. "Alright guys, time to meet up with the ones who can help with this newspaper!"
They walk out of the place, and Gus places his computer in his bag, thinking it is time to go back to his friends, he hears an 'ahem', and he turns to see Flip holding his old skateboard that is scratched up.
"You coming with us, credit goes to you too," Flip replied with a smile.
Gus smiled, put on his bookbag, and grabbed a hold of his old skateboard. "Alright, let's go!"
Back in the mall, Luz and Willow are placed in a gray truck with a strange symbol on the sides, even Eda who is in static wires. The two men walked to the front as the ghost happened to be the Zs'Skayr phased out of the ground freaking them out.
"You fools take your time!" Zs'Skayr shouted angrily.
"We gotta make sure don't get caught, seeing young females in our arms will get us arrested!" One of them shouted
"Well hurry enough...we got what we needed, now time to go back!" Zs'Skayr shouted as he phases in the truck.
The truck drove off, to the RV, King hid inside the table, scared in his mind, Hooty came out of his hiding, looking at the small creature. "What are we going to do?! They are in danger!"
King tried to breathe, he slowly calmed down and looked at Hooty. "Okay, first things first...we gotta find Gus!"
Gus sees himself in a decent room that happens with an office room, He and the gang simply look at three certain people and a man in his thirties.
The man has dark skin, dark brown hair with a beard, and black eyes. Wearing white sleeve collar button shirt, gray sweater vest, gray pants, and black shoes. "Hmm, this looks decent kids..."
"I'm sure we put in our hard work," Flip smirked, and others nodded.
"It's true Perry, they're really putting all their heart into it," Spoke a tan-skinned young lady with a slender yet curvaceous body frame. She has short boyish dark hair and light brown eyes. For her clothes, she wears a white shirt with yellow on the top and blue pants. For her footwear, she has white sneakers with yellow soles. Lois Lane.
"All kinds of cool stuff inside it," Spoke a dark skin young man with black hair and brown eyes. Wearing a white collar shirt, red sweater, khaki pants, and brown shoes. Wearing underneath attired in a blue jacket and on his neck is an old camera. Jimmy Olsen.
"Trust me, Mr. White, the kids really show they can handle it," Spoke a man who has white skin, black hair, blue eyes black square glasses. Wearing a white collar shirt with a blue tie, gray sweater, black pants, and brown shoes. Clark Kent.
Perry rubs his eyes and sighs. "Let's give it this test run in a week,"
The kids cheered, and as the trio looked at them, the lady spoke. "Let's celebrate, ice cream on us!"
The kids smiled big, and they walked out to go to the elevator, Gus smiled at the place, saying hi to coworkers that his dad used to work here after moving back to Gatefield...pretty weird to have a boss that got dad's name-
The boy stopped by a room whose door was cracked open, he spotted a moving chalkboard that had loads of pictures of...his aliens. Each alien picture; Emerald stopping a big robot, Mimic stopping a big snake in the mall, Aqua Shell in the lake, Sky Beam in the sky, all of his latest alien heroes working through each country, all this gotta from online.
"Hey Gus, we're waiting for you!" Gabby shouted
Gus turns to see his friends, Lois, Jimmy, and Clark going in the elevator, the boy makes a rush for it and slides in with them just a few minutes before the doors shut. They go down to the first-floor level, and Gus can't help but speak. "Sorry, spots a room that has pictures of those...alien heroes!" Sounded excited.
"Oh, you see them, cool huh?" Jimmy asked with a big smile. "Loads of aliens are now helping throughout the place! We calling it, Are There Aliens Among Us? Loads of un-worldly beings helping the cause of the planet's trouble, maybe inspired by,"
"Jimmy, I told you...I think the 'helping' is not because of one already here," Clark stated
"Well one of them is the greatest of them all," Lois responded with a smile and looked at the tall one, he smiled at her back.
'That...look, same look dad and mom always do...alone,' Gus grimaces seeing lots of time of his parents getting the look.
"Well, my favorite is the flaming alien, so cool that he shoots out those fire blasts from the videos!" Flip shouted lifting her hands like blasting out.
"My favorite is flying alien, goes to the sky, way to the limit!" Edward shouted with a smile.
"Mine is the four-armed alien, so strong, lifted up heavy things, helpful to many people," Patty responds placing her hands on her cheek and blushing a little.
"I go with the wild monster dog," Gabby said showing her teeth. "Climb, running, roaring, and the slime...so cool!"
Gus smiles a little because his friends respect his aliens' heroic deeds, the elevator stops as the door opens up. They walked out of the building, each one about to turn until a certain cat came in, and hit Clark's leg.
They turned to see the cat creature, Gus knew the cat. "King?!"
Everyone looks at the boy who goes to the cat. "You know him?" Patty asked
"Yes, he's my caretaker's pet," Gus answered seeing a letter in his mouth, grabbed it, and once read it, he made a horror look.
"Gus, what's wrong?" Lois asked looking at the boy.
"My friends got kidnapped from the mall!" Gus answered making his heart stop for a minute.
"WHAT?!" They shouted in shock.
Gus looked down and saw his letter and his friend's sad look. "W-What are we going to do...can't go to the police cause this isn't just a kidnapped, someone might hurt them-"
"Don't worry, we can help you, Gus, just need to search the place, right Clark?" Lois asked
Clark nodded. "Yeah, let's separate everyone, kids, you go around through the city, Lois, Jimmy, you two can check the mall to find any evidence there."
"Right, come on Jimmy," Lois said looking at the camera guy.
Jimmy held his camera. "Hope gets something outta this,"
The adults begin to separate, and Gus turns to his friends. "Guys, I need to find them?"
"You mean 'we', we gonna help you know!" Flip shouted surprised the boy.
"Of course, you helped us, so we helped you!" Patty shouted with a smile.
"This gonna be fun, our own adventure!" Gabby smirked
"You our friend Gus, we wanna do to this!" Edward respond
Gus smiled at them, he held up his phone. "Alright, guys, I need your phones!"
After giving him the app, all of them separated, Gus went down made a turn, and saw the RV parked, he went inside only to see Hooty pop out, and make the boy jump.
"What are we gonna do?! I not ready to be alone!" Hooty shouts
Gus took a breath and spoke. "It's okay, we just needed to calm down and think, what we do some think that might help us find them," He turned to King. "King, do Eda have something that might help,"
King looked down. "Well, I know one place, "He goes to one of the cabinets, he digs into it until pulls out a small, black book and gives it to Gus. "This might help us,"
Gus opened it, looking through the book, just some numbers and some names. 'Scrooge...Cruellia...Rick...is this...wait.' He stops at one of them. "This one got address...Manhattan."
"Hmm...what...what the?"
Luz woke up in some kind of prison, her cell bars actually blue bars that were full of electricity. She stood up, held out her hand, and summoned an orb to blast the bars only get bounce back. She panicked of began to dodge the orb which bounced all over the place until it disappeared. She looked at herself and realized her necklace and belt were gone. "Eda, Willow?"
"I'm here, Luz!" Eda shouted at one of the bars.
Luz spots Eda in one of the cells, with a few creatures such as a unicorn, a fairy, a leprechaun, and..."Amity?!"
Amity looked at her in surprise. "Noceda?"
"Where are we?!" Luz question looked around.
"You in Paladin prison, where taking in whole magical creatures," spoke the fairy who was simply annoyed in her bed.
"Paladin, like a knight?" Luz asked so confused.
"That's what they say, stopping us from spreading throughout the whole world we are in," Eda answered knowing this kind of group in her life.
"Ay, this place really has come since the Huntsclan disappeared!" the leprechaun shouted angrily
Luz looked around for her friend. "But...where's Willow?"
"She might be the lower level since she is not magic," The fairy answered kicking her legs.
Willow looked around in her cell, having metal cuffs on her hands, looked around, only to see her cellmates; five monsters that had a blue gem, a few monsters, a lady with a black and green suit, and finally...giant green dragon.
The green and black lady is annoyed. "My god, can these gem monsters ever stop hitting the wall!"
"Easy for you to say, I wanna sleep!" one of the monsters whined
Willow simply looked up. 'Gus, I hope to find us soon,' Turn to see the dragon who has a tech collar on him and his wrists. "Hello,"
The RV stops at a town that is far from the city, Gus and King come out of the vehicle. "Man, that zoo is packed, all because to see a hippo, giraffe, zebra, above all a Lion."
"Say he, King of the City, I will become King above him," King grimaced as Gus opened the door.
Both looked at the place; really an old style of ancient electronics. "This shop really needs a big update." Gus state
Then suddenly a fire blast came out of the back door, and both dodged quickly and hit one of the machines...then came out people.
"Haley, told you I don't disturb me when I am meditating!" Shouted a Chinese boy who happened to be sixteen; has black spike hair with green highlights and brown eyes. Wearing a white shirt with a red jacket with yellow lines over it, long jeans extra pockets, and black shoes with white socks.
"Is that or are you just texting Rose again," responds a Chinese girl who is exactly like Gus's age; white skin, black hair formed into ponytails, and blue eyes. Wear a pink sweater vest underneath his white shirt, a blue jeans skirt, and pink shoes with white socks.
"Jake, how many times, not text!" Shouted a short Chinese man with gray hair, had a blue robe that covered his entire body.
All of them turn to Gus who holding King, both having widened eyes and shaking. Then a a gray, Chinese Shar-Pei dog with a red collar, with black eyes. To Gus's surprise, he was standing on two legs.
"Ha! The look on Jake's face when he was startled...oh man," Spoke the dog seeing Gus and King. "Wait, King?"
King knows the dog. "Fu, oh man...it's been ages!"
King jumped out of Gus's arms and hugged the dog. "Hehehe you have been doing great kid, how's that overload hair hag of yours."
"That's the problem, we need help," King said as Gus stood up. "He's name Gus, and he's cool with you dragon people,"
"Gus? Do you mean short for Augustus, Porter?" A womanly gentle spoke
Gus alarmed sees the last one come in, happens to be a tall lady with dark skin, long black hair, black eyes, yellow sleeves, a blue skirt reaching her ankles, and wooden sandals. "M-Ms. Parks?"
The Chinese girl is surprised that both know each other. "Sun, you know him?"
"Yes, this is a boy having such a bright brain," Sun said with a smile. "Gus, meet Jake Long, his little sister Haley Long, and their grandfather Lao Shi."
"Nice to meet ya, but we got no time," Gus smiled at them. "Yeah, Sun Park was my 3rd-grade teacher until she got me to go in the higher grade." He faces all of them. "Please, I need help to save my friends..."
"And why, sure go to the police?" Lao Shi asked
"Well, I can't, to be honest, we are not exactly originally citizens, you know all alien sightings throughout the country, that be me," Gus said showing them his watch, causing them to be shocked.
"A kid with a weird-looking watch that turns to monsters, so bizarre." Fu Dog responds
"Aliens Fu, but so mysterious," Haliey stated looking at the watch.
"Well, since now keep a secret...names Jake Long, also known as the American Dragon. Or the Am-Dragon of NYC." Jake states with a smirk.
Haley came in front. "I'm Hailey, the co-American Dragon, the smartest and most perfect role model." With a smile much of Jake's dismay.
"You guys are dragons...so you too?" Gus asked turning to Sun.
"Afraid so Augustus, hope you not afraid," Sun said sadden
Gus shakes his head. "Naw, I've seen loads of stuff in the summer, magical dragons are cool in my book!" Making the others smile, the boy pulls out his phone. "Okay, so I got my newest app that has tracked down my friends, I see a total of three means all of them are in the same place, all because group that King says the Paladins."
That makes all of them shocked, Lao Shi looked at his grandkids. "Alright, Jake, Haley, you go help Mr. Porter save his friends and those who are trapped in that group! Be sure not to get caught by them if do, we come back up,"
"Alright, gotta call Sprig and Trixie, they can help us get in the place," Jake nodded.
"We can take the RV, Hooty can drive to the location," Gus responds pointing to the back.
Fu shivers of the name. "Eda still got that techno creepy globe?"
King looked at him. "You have no idea."
Luz seems to do her best to focus her magic, making her orb more powerful, the result getting a spark through the energy sphere until bursts out of shockwave. "Almost got it!"
"Will you stop it, you just losing your energy," Amity states
"Hate to say but she's right Luz, best just-" Eda responded stopped by Luz's determined look.
"No! I won't stop, a true witch never gives up on anything," Luz said looking at Amity. "So...how do you get here?"
"I was just in once again a 'Family' trip," Amity answered with an annoyed look and crossed her arms. "And once again argued with my mom, so angry I literally blasted her crossed the room. The next day, I heard at least three Paladin members argue with my dad until realized...they were after me, so I took least cash and nice clothing, and ran off before they noticed me."
"Way to go expose your magic minty," The fairy said looking at her.
"Hey, I was piss alright!" Amity shouted angrily
"But my lady, you can't just use your magic out of your temper, everything has consequences." The leprechaun respond
Amity looked away. "Whatever,"
In the forest, the RV traveling through the road, inside Gus in the passenger seat, King was on his lap. Jake with Haley at the diner room table, also two more people on the couch.
"So dude, you really are those cool aliens?" Spoke to a sixteen-year-old boy with apricot skin with small faint freckles on his cheeks, spiky brown hair with white ends that he generally hides using an olive-green beanie, and black eyes. He wears a baggy dark blue t-shirt with yellow stripes on the chest and sleeves, an orange long-sleeved shirt that he wears underneath the dark blue t-shirt, baggy brown pants, and grey and blue sneakers. He also wears black fingerless gloves and an olive-green beanie.
Gus's face palm. "Yes Spud, I am those aliens, for the fifth time..."
"Spud, will you just zip your lip!" Shouted angrily by a sixteen-year-old girl with a slender body figure, has dark skin with black hair (matches her eyes) that she ties into puffs using purple scrunchies. Wearing a dark purple short-sleeved hoodie with a drawn panda on it and a pastel blue long-sleeved shirt underneath. She also wears baggy olive green pants and grey sneakers. "If you ask that question again, I'll flip!"
"I can't help it Trix, cool watch turning into a living alien from outta space..." Spud said with a big smile. "I always see what's out there!"
Jake smiled speechlessly. "Sorry, Spud is a space fan,"
"I can see that, looks like we're here," Gus said seeing the place. "It's just...a living storage place."
"Lesson learned G-Man, villains always hide in blindsight," Jake replied as he and Haley stood up. "Watch and learn,"
Jake and Haley came out of the RV, and both shot their fire on their hands and threw it to the sky, once landed far away, hit what happened to be a rainbow forcefield. "Invisible Forcefield, created by unicorn's hair."
Gus looked in puzzled. "So stop magic, they used magic? That's a little confusing,"
"It's villains, Gus, they think righteous to use them," Haley said with a frown.
"Alright, you three do your thing, we stay in and help from outside," Trix replied
"Thanks, let's move guys," Jake stated looking at her sister. "Sis...it's time!"
Haley smiled. "Oh yeah,"
"Dragon-Up!"
Gus sees their body go up in flames of red and pink...both turn into living dragons! Jake's a dragon that looks like a tall, muscular, red dragon with a yellow underbelly, black hair with green ends, darker red wings, and green spikes on his back and tail. He also has five-clawed hands and four-clawed feet. Haley's dragon form is purple, having a slender form, a light purple underbelly, sharp wings, and light purple spikes on her back, and tail. Has five claws hands and four clawed feet. "Oh, you guys are so cool!"
"Thanks, let's go save your gang!" Jake said holding Gus by his back.
Haley holding King as all four go towards the invisible place, meanwhile Spud sits on the dining chair with Gus's computer laptop.
"Dude, his stuff is so advanced Trix." Spud state
"Yeah cool and all, but we need to hurry up, they going there fast," Trix said
Hooty came out of the ceiling making Trix scream of the tech globe. "Hoot, I hope they okay!"
"What the freak is that?!" Trix questions in fear.
Spud smiled at him. "It's so cool!"
Hooty's eye widened. "HE THINKS I'LL COOL!"
In the invisible forcefield, loads of men simply search around for what just happened making the forcefield appear.
"What's happening, who touched the field," One of the guards said
"I don't know, maybe a squirrel?" Another one said
"No squirrel makes who field appear in the blink of a second." The female member stated annoyed, and felt a peck on his neck. "Ow, what the-" She passes out.
They see her fall on the ground, about to check it out but it seems that all of them get a peck on the neck, causing them to go down, passing out on the ground. Appearing out of nowhere is Camo-Gecko with a sharp needle on his tail.
Jake, Haley, and King down, the upper spoke. "Nice one man, they now sleeping,"
"Just wake up in a couple of hours, did he do it?" Camo-Gecko asked turning to them.
"Yeah, Spud shut down the security, but we gotta move!" Haley shouted and went to the door and others followed suit.
In the security room, the workers tried to fix their screens which were nothing but a total of some cartoon show that really hunter chasing a bunny and duck.
"Ha! It's totally a duck season!" A security laughed and saw a duck get blasted, his mouth sideways.
"Stop watching, and help me!" Another one shouted angrily
The whole rescue squad travels through the hallways, taking out each Paladin; Jake uses his kung fu attack at them, Haley uses her fast speed to tackle each one to the down, Camo-Gecko slithers through the people, uses his needle to knock each one out when passing by them, even King does his sonic scream. They made it through all of them, each Paladin on the ground, all injured and out cold making them smile only Camo-Gecko dial came on, changed back into Gus turned back.
"Knowing that alien for sure," Haley commented
"Need to know all of them, train each one," Gus responds summoning his hoverboard.
"Whoa, your watch can do that?" Jake surprised sees Gus step on it, getting his helmet and braces, King steps on the front of the board.
"I know, cool huh? And I know they have my friend's stuff somewhere, we get them, you break my friends out! Gus's shouts began to fly off.
"Are you sure he can do it?" Haley questions in worry.
"He got us all by himself, taking on grown adults in his alien form, I worried he gonna make this building go when we finished," Jake joked both flew in the other direction.
Gus and King fly through the hallway, he keeps on until sees a big steel door, and King lets out another roar that causes the door to open. They go inside and see loads of magical objects, each one in their own case on the wall, until spot Owlbert.
"Owlbert!" King shouted Gus opened it up as the bird landed on the shoulder. "You alright?"
Owlbert nodded, Gus grabbed the whole of Luz's belt, necklace, and Willow's jacket, placing it in his backpack. "Hoot...Hoot!"
Gus saw the wooden small bird pointing to another case; a small book. "Take it? well, if you say so?" He grabbed the whole of the book, then some kind of silver and red device. "Another summer souviers,"
In the prison cell, the cellmates are likely busy trying their best not get panic, so others try their best to talk. But hearing shouting and crashing outside of the place, all of them saw a big fireball come through the steel double door. Each one was startled by the moment until Jake and Haley came into the place each face smiled big.
"Jake lad, glad you came," The leprechaun responded
"No problem McBreen, the dragons came to take this little building down soon!" Jake shouted
Haley looks at three cells, they're empty. "You see the females were in those prison cells?"
"Some people cuff them brings somewhere else," The fairy answered
"WHAT?!" Shouted Gus who came in with a blur, he and King came in, the boy holding one of the Paladin's sticks. "Where are they taking the females?"
"Another building for what they planning, but another female with glasses is underneath," The fairy added
Gus's eyes widened. "Female with glasses, Jake, will you mind breaking the floor,"
Jake nodded as he slammed his tail on the ground three times until it caused a big hole. "Done my man,"
"Thanks, by the way," Gus said he slammed the electric stick on the fairy's control panel, making the bars disappear. "Thank you for telling us this!"
The fairy sees her prison bars disappear. "No problem,"
Gus and King fly down the hole and see other prisoners, until spot Willow who also sees them. "Willow!"
"Gus, King, oh I'm glad to see you! Where's Luz and Eda?" Willow asked seeing her prison bars disappear.
"Think about using some experiment, we need to go now!" Gus shouted freeing each prisoner except the gems that looked like about to attack them.
The boy made it to the dragon, before he broke the panel, he spotted something that was really familiar in the dragon's chest and widened his eyes. He breaks the panel causing the prison bars to disappear and cuffs to drop to the ground, the dragon stands up but makes a quick move by removing the device, opening up his pack back, and placing the same one on the chest.
Once the device turned on, the dragon spoke. "Argh...thank you for freeing me,"
"I knew something good in that same device," Gus spoke with a smile and looked at the dragon. "You welcome magic dragon!"
"Magic? I am an alien!" The dragon said looking at them.
Gus was alarmed at that. "Oh sorry, just that...I met magical dragons, you're an alien, why are you here?"
"I am a map maker, I was making an intergalactic map, why else did I come to this planet?" The dragon states glared at the sky. "I was attacked by a group called Forever Knights, they attacked me, broke my translator box, and put me in prison for no reason, for over a thousand years!"
"Whoa, h-how did you escape?" Gus asked looking at him.
"Some foolish cloak tried to control me but I resisted the power, destroyed the castle, and took off, looking for my ship ever since, it was in this city but getting captured again! They say about selling me to them, thought losing hope but I am free thanks to you," The dragon answered as he stood up. "Now, I got business to take off, I got business take care of Forever Knights and the Paladins"
"That looked like you seeking revenge, you can't do it," Gus said with a frown.
"They took a thousand years child, a thousand years! It's a long time, away from your family, my kids probably flying by now," The dragon said
"I understand feelings about family, my dad is a news reporter, and my mom is a police officer," Gus responded
Willow alarmed. "Wait, your mom is a police officer?!"
He turned to her with a smile. "Why do you think I lived in a good neighborhood," Then turned to the dragon. "The point is, I worried about them every day of my whole life, they might be gone for a moment in my life, but I always know they come back cause loved me, and your family is waiting for you if I choose revenge or my family, I pick the one that makes me happy."
The dragon looked at the boy with arrow eyes, until the alarm came on that startled everyone, which meant one thing...they were coming.
"This is bad, now the Paladin might guard Luz and Eda enough that stop us from rescuing them!" King shouted
Gus rubs his chin then gets an idea, and turns to the dragon. "Mr Dragon, sir, I really needed your help,"
In another building, inside are a least five capsules, three full happens Luz, Eda, and Amity...all connect to the strange portal like that made out of stones. Working on the computer is a shadowy man with a grunting tone of voice.
So let me get this straight, you guys traveling throughout the state, saving the day, your magic," Amity said in a wildered look.
"Using talismans to boost my magic," Luz added
"I'm her mentor," Eda pointed out the fact.
"Willow has absorbing powers, and the squirt happens to be Gus got a watch that transforms into different aliens?" Amity's question made both females nod, she is little uneasy. "Little worried about a twelve-year-old kid wielding that kind of power?"
"Same question, but it stuck to his wrist, nothing we can't do about it, but you can see what he does with it," Luz stated with a smile.
"Time to take it for a test run..." Zs'Skayr phases in front of them. "Should keep your mouth shut! Just like control this place and all these foolish Paladin members!"
"Oh you just the same Zs'Skayr, always tried gain power," Eda replied with a glare. "What are you going to do this time?"
"I going to create a doorway to our home dimension, the Legerdomain," Zs'Skayr answered making Eda's skin go pale than usual.
"Are you insane, that place is forbidding 'cause He is still there!" Eda shouted angrily
"I say only used the energy...created this city of my own personal world, a city under my rule, and I likely used that boy as a vessel," Zs'Skayr responded with a sinister smile.
All three of them getting their eyes widened at that smile, it was because of them, that Gus was now in danger, the machine starting up caused each one in a capsule to scream in pain, and their energy went down wires, to the portal which began to glow. But something the roof of the place just burst open by an energy beam, all of them looked to see dragons come in, Jake and Haley blasted their fire at the machines, causing an explosion.
"NO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O!" Zs'Skayr shouted seeing the portal closing down, turning them. "You pay for this, you pests!"
The dragon landed on the ground, stepping off his back Gus, Willow wearing only her jacket, and King. "Thanks for the help taking down those Paladin," the boy spoke happily hitting his hand on the leg.
The dragon answered back by flying off again, leaving another hole with his energy blast, causing light to come in, the Zs'Skayr hissed and went into the darkness.
"That's a little uncalled for," Willow states looking up.
Gus sees the sky, then a golden space rocket appears, breaks through the barrier, and takes off at high speed, smiling at the sky. "But he realized he got a family go to,"
King runs to the capsule, he lets out another screech breaking the glasses, and making each one in it fall to the floor.
"Whoo, thanks King," Luz said taking her breath.
"No thanking me yet," King replied seeing Gus go to them.
"They right, Paladins on their way, and they are so pissed!" Gus shouted and opened his bag. "Grabbed your stuffed!"
Eda grabbed Owlbert who was happy to see his owner, Luz putting on her necklace and belt, the last one was the small book. Amity spotted it and grabbed it quickly, looking at the boy. "You grabbed my book?"
"That's your book? Owlbert says to grab it," Gus states
"Yo, they're here," Jake shouted and saw a total hundred Paladin coming in.
The whole Paladin surrounded them; Jake and Haley flying back to back making sure the enemies didn't grab them, Eda turned Owlbert to her staff by twirling to create yellow energy, Luz summoned her purple orbs with a glare, Amity held out her book on her left while getting the pink orb right hand, Willow grabbed whole metal orb forming her hands into metal armor, King simply stands his ground, growling those took away his mom and friends, finally Gus pulls out his watch, it glowing in blue light, ready to transform.
"Alright, I had enough of these A's messing with my life!" Eda shouted making each one look at her. She smiled at them. "Kids, let's...take...them...down!"
Each kid smiles big in agreeing with the Owl Lady, five Paladin shoot out electric wires to the group, but Gus goes in front and slams his watch, a big flash in blue light. The wires got grabbed by other than Bolt Foot, he consumed the electricity and sent it back causing them to get shocked, which passed them out, then slammed his hands on the ground causing a big shockwave of over thirty members. Jake and Haley began to fly off and attack each Paladin with their kung fu skills, taking out and sending fires at the electric weapons. Willow charged in and fought each Paladin hand to hand, the members tried to use their electric swords to slash her but only bounced causing them to let go thus Willow knocking them out. King released his roars left and right until he spotted a Paladin sneak up on Eda, he ran towards her and climbed on Eda's much to her surprise, King went into Owl Lady's hair, came out of the back of hair let out another roar make Paladin send flying.
"Don't hurt my mom!" King shouted angrily turning to see Eda's smile proudly. "Yeah?"
"You first fight and say, Mom, so proud of you!" Eda shouted kissed King's cheek, and held out her staff. "Let's do this King!"
Luz and Amity back to back, use their orbs left and right until Blight opens her book. "Noceda, covered me!"
"You got it!" Luz shouted as she began to send out lots of orbs to the Paladins until Amity held out her hand.
"Galeas Disruptus," Amity shouts in a chanting tone, her hand glows.
A big pink wind towards to Paladin, who covered their face due to specks of dust, but did not make it go down. Luz sees the problem, goes to her, and tries least help her, by grabbing her hand. "Let me help!" which results in their aura mixing bigger than before, and the wind causes Major wind to turn into a living tornado. cause the whole roof to break apart. Everyone gets covered by Eda's energy barrier, and all of them close their eyes. The tornado was so powerful that it broke the barrier apart.
The wind apart the barrier, until it disappeared, but something spots it, or someone...flying in the sky.
Everyone in the building, the Paladin is lying down all injured, while the main group, in the barrier while Luz and Amity covered themselves, both looked up what they did.
"Did we just...destroy the building?" Luz question
Amity looked down, seeing their hands holding. "By holding...hands..."
Haley flies to them. "You guys alright?"
Eda raised her hands and shouted. "Whoo, well-done girls!" She glares while smirking at the fallen Paladin. "How's feel be on the ground!"
All of them go to the Luz and Amity, but one grabs the whole of his arm and lifts it in the air, each one turns to see Gus lifted in the air, seeing the Zs'Skayr.
"One move, and consume the boy and you get blasted!" Zs'Skayr shouted pointing behind them.
They saw over three gray military tanks, twenty people aiming at them, each one glaring at the boy.
"Let the boy go Zs'Skayr, or so help me!" Eda shouts getting a bit of feathers on her face.
"Soon watch you all die, FIRE!" Zs'Skayr shouted
The tanks charged up electricity at a fast speed, about to fire at the main group but a fast red blur came in and destroyed each tank, knocking each member down in one hit. Everyone is puzzled about what just happened until they clear out seeing three people on the ground looking at the one who destroyed their tanks with scared looks.
"No...it can't be..." Zs' Skayr said with widened eyes.
Everyone also has widened eyes to see their rescuer is here. "It's..."
Gus smiled at New York's own Man of Steel. "Superman,"
A muscular man with white skin, blue eyes, and black hair with few bangs, his outfit consists of a blue bodysuit sporting the crest of S, with red boots and red shorts. He also wears a red cape.
"She says...put down the boy," Superman said with a glare.
Zs' Skayr glared also, holding up Gus. "Not a chance, this watch is now-"
Unaware, the watch is underneath his sleeve, just scan his DNA, and the boy sees the watch glowing yellow, making his eyes widen, in a quick moment, he hits the watch on Zs' Skayr's forehead causing the bright blue light to make everyone covered their eyes.
Gus began smiling while his eyes were shadowed by his hood, covering himself with darkness, and then came out in a creepy and. The transformation finished, Gus is now a phantom/ghost-like alien with a gaseous appearance claw-like hands, and light blue-grey skin with black lines running all over him. His skin is removable with black and white striped tentacles underneath it. The watch symbol peeked out of his skin on his lower left chest, and he had a dark blue eye with a black pupil. Having a tech collar and wrist with black lining.
"NightFright," Called out the alien name, looks at himself. "Whoa, now this is spooky,"
Zs' Skayr glared at the boy's ghost form. "It seems you absorb my DNA, but won't change a thing!"
Zs' Skayr charged at NightFright, who held up his hands charging up blue energy and thus blasted at Zs' Skayr who felt beams burn him.
NightFright looked at his cuffs. "Heh, these cuffs are cool!"
Zs' Skayr snarls and charges at the boy who phases through him, both go at it either phasing or fighting, and the others just watch.
"Superman, do something?!" Luz shouted
"I don't know, they're ghosts, I can't hit that phase through me!" Superman shouted worried about the boy.
NightFright strength struggling, both rise up until touch the afternoon sky making Zs' Skayr scream in pain of feeling the burn from his back.
'Sunlight, he's weakness like a vampire!' NightFright's thoughts widened his eyes.
NightFright stops struggling, making Zs' Skayr go down hard, and slam to the ground, everyone winches at the result.
"Good show child, but your defeat, gonna make sure your human body will be in fine shape when take over it," Zs' Skayr said with a smile.
NightFright simply answered. "Not trying to beat you, just trapped you...Superman, heat vision!" He phases to the ground.
Zs' Skayr alarmed, turned to see the Man of Steel hovering over him, Zs' Skayr was about to fly but only got burned down by a red heat beam. "AH-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H!"
Zs' Skayr shredding in flames, Superman stops to see nothing, NightFright phases back to the surface, the dial comes on and changes back to Gus. "That was one big rescue,"
At the park, where everyone is meeting together; Gus is with Haley and the News KidLegion on the swings, Spud talking to King and Hooty about the whole alien thing until Trixie pulls him away, Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda, and Jake going to have a talk with them.
"Are sure take all of them, witness?" Willow asked.
"Gramps needed to know how Paladin got the tech and know about magical creatures, all be in Dragon Council with Gramps Ms. Parks, and Fu, glade least some heroes fight while need to refresh," Jake said
"Good cause hope rewrite of not doing that Paladin group, hope finds the source," Eda replied
"I think more of going through the portal," Amity states
"Yeah, but the real question is...Amity, what are you going to do now?" Luz asked making the Blight girl's widen.
Gus swings a little with sadness. "Sorry, I made you guys all over the city for nothing,"
"Heh, we usually do this more often, cool have one more friend going around see old places," Flip said
Gus smiled a little. "Yeah, my friends really got saved, by Superman,"
"Lucky you, I hope grabbed a pic," Edward replied with a smile.
"A lot of excitement happened, sorry guys," Gus stated with a frown.
"Most important everyone got saved," Patty pointed
"And a lot of action happens!" Gabby shouted hands in the air.
'This girl really wild,' Haley thought
Gus sees his old friends, happy smiling, like old days until...he looked down. "Guys wanna say...I...I...need to get some water," Walking off leaving them confused.
Gus walks to the water fountain and grips it, he wanna tell them, really wants to, but also wanna keep them safe from any danger. But...he just got them back, especially Flip, if she knows to keep this a secret for so long, won't forgive you.
"You can tell them when you're ready,"
Gus looked up to see Clark, Lois, and Jimmy, the female looked at the boy with a smile and looked at the watch making the boy widen.
"H-How?" Gus asked covering his watch.
"Have my resources, but I learned something...keeping secrets is personal," Lois said
"Yeah after what she pulled on you," Jimmy whispered to Clark who nudged him.
Lois bends down to Gus's level. "Listen, Gus right, you are a nice and kind kid, but remember can't always rely on your watch all the time, always rely on the people you trust," Lois said with a smile.
Gus smiled at her. "Thanks, Ms. Lane,"
"Called me Lois," Lois rubbed Gus's head and stood up. "We got takeout, hope you loved pizzas!"
At the wreckage of Paladin, someone was sitting at the top of the building, with a bored look, a high-tech helicopter came in, went down, and opened it happened to a blue-skinned man.
"Shego, what's happened to you? I have been looking for-" Spoke the blue skin man.
"Just shut up and go, starving in prison," Shego said sitting down and glared. "I have been rescued by a kid Drakken,"
Drakken heard it and held his laughter. "A kid, losing your-"
Shego held up her hand that is glowing deep green. "Don't start, we need to keep an eye on some kid with a group,"
The fairy flying through a portal, she sighs with a smile. "Made it back in one piece,"
She flew out of a wooden place and kept on flying until the view showed a place that was an island.
Back at the park, the whole gang is saying goodbye to their friends, the boy giving each one a value app.
"There, an app can help give you all to contact and video chat on the phone," Gus said
"And give you an official flamebird member!" Jimmy shouted both of them looked at each other. "Be sure to look out for any aliens out there,"
"You got it, make sure of it..." Gus pointed at Jimmy who pointed back.
"We make keep in touch, right cool lady?" Luz states finger banging Lois.
"Right back ya," Lois said winking at her.
Willow and Amity looked at this, and really bizarre seeing this happening. "Umm...can we talk about this," The upper spoke.
Amity shakes her head. "Just role of it,"
Gus gets hugged by each friend of his. "Guys...please..." frown in sadness.
"I gonna miss this, please don't forget us," Edward shouted
"Be sure to talk along with us when we call," Patty said
"Better be exciting," Gabby replied whimpering.
Gus turned to the last one, Flip looked at him. "Flip...I..."
"One..." Flip said hitting Gus's arm much of the boy surprised. "That's for what happened, and..." she hugged Gus who was now shocked. "This for coming back,"
Gus hugged her, then looked up and saw Jake and the others. "Thanks for help guys,"
"Heh it's G-Man, you can count on us to help you," Jake replied

"Please be sure to tell us on the app about cool alien stuff, I need to know," Spud said
Trixie crossed her arms. "Spud, just sure do your 'other' work safety,"
Gus smiled at nodded, all of them inside, and began to drive off, each one waving goodbyes, especially certain ones miss their friend. "So...you stay with us Amity?" Spot the Blight girl sitting on the couch.
Amity, got her hair fixed back into a ponytail, her skin turned back to normal, golden eyes fully rested. Wearing a white shirt collar shirt, black sweater with pink lining, blue jean skirt, black stockings, and light blue shoes.
"Don't get the wrong idea, it's just for the summer, once it's over, going back to my parents," Amity said in a dry tone.
Gus is weirded out, and Luz places her hand on the boy's shoulder. "Don't worry Gus, she gets used to all this, right Willow,"

Since based on sci-fi/aliens, I figure Gus was from New York for the time being Perry was a news reporter until transferred to Gravfield...so knowing Ms. Park was his teacher who helped him get higher grades and News KidLegion his childhood friends.
