The news of Issei's solitary victory over Loki rippled through the supernatural world like a raging inferno. Every corner of the mystical realm buzzed with the tale of one lone hero vanquishing one of the most nefarious Gods. There was a wave of satisfaction among the various supernatural factions—the Yokai, the Fallen Angels, and the Angels. They celebrated his remarkable feat, appreciating the eradication of such a malicious threat.

However, not all factions shared this optimism. In the Devil Faction, a cloud of scepticism loomed. Many believed that the Trial's punishment, merely a few weeks prior, had been far too lenient—a mere slap on the wrist. Now, their voices clamoured for a different form of justice: Issei's imprisonment. Their fear was palpable, rooted in the concern that Issei might grow too potent, evolving into a force that could turn on his fellow devils. Amidst the dissent, a few voices rose in his defence, notably the Devil Kings, who vouched for Issei's character and intentions.

Within the hallowed halls of Kuoh Academy, the devils were left astounded. They grappled with the sheer disbelief that Issei had managed to single-handedly overcome Loki, a formidable enemy who had previously required the combined efforts of their peerages and Vali's Khaos Brigade team to defeat. The shock reverberated through their ranks, leaving them awestruck and questioning the very fabric of their understanding of power and capability.

X

Speaking on the Khaos Brigade, they also had learnt of the news.

Amidst the whispers of the Khaos Brigade, news of the Red Dragon Emperor's exploits reached their ears.

Arthur, filled with admiration and surprise, addressed his team, "Seems like the Red Dragon - I mean Black Dragon Emperor has gotten stronger. Strong enough to take down Loki all by himself."

Bikou, his eyes alight with excitement, exclaimed, "One of these days, I need to fight him!"

Kuroka, her eyes narrowing with interest, purred, "It seems like I may have a potential mate, nyaa," as she licked her lips seductively.

Lefay, her patience wearing thin, questioned Kuroka, annoyance etched on her face, "Do you ever think about anything else besides breeding a new and stronger Nekoshou race?"

Kuroka, unfazed, replied with a playful tone, "Well, there's also Shirone, nyaa."

Bikou, his anger flaring, shouted, "Although I am pissed he killed Fenrir!"

Arthur, ever the provocateur, teased, "I mean, we did steal him from Loki, and Loki just stole him back just like that. I remember Lefay making a ruckus over how he disappeared and went into a panic attack."

Lefay shot back, "Hey!" in protest, defending her previous actions.

During the lively conversation, Vali remained silent, deep in his thoughts.

Vali pondered silently, his fists clenched tightly, "Hyoudou, just how strong have you become?" His mind raced with questions, his curiosity mingling with a touch of concern.

On the other side of the Khaos Brigade, Cao Cao, the leader of the Hero Faction, turned to his glasses-wearing companion, Georg, with a determined glint in his eyes. "Georg, I think it's time to put the plan together," he declared, his voice firm and unwavering.

Georg nodded in acknowledgment. "I'll start the preparations," he replied, his steps purposeful as he walked away, leaving Cao Cao deep in thought.

Seated at a desk, Cao Cao's frustration boiled over. "Red Dragon Emperor, you have become even more troublesome than I thought. Next time we fight, I'll kill you," he seethed, his eyes narrowing as he slammed his fist on the desk. His anger stemmed from their defeat in Kyoto and the relentless growth of their opposition. To make matters worse, they were now being led by an emotionless child for a seemingly pointless cause. Cao Cao had reached his breaking point; it was time to take matters into his own hands.

Inside the main room of the Occult Research Club, anticipation hung heavy in the air. The members gathered, their eyes fixed on the door, waiting for their President, Rias, who had been absent for a day after an incident involving her misbehaviour, which led to her being taken to the Underworld by her brother and sister-in-law. The room was silent, the tension palpable, until the door swung open, and Rias entered, her expression stern and commanding.

"In one week's time, we shall embark upon the mid-class promotion exams," Rias declared, her voice cutting through the silence. "These tests mark the path to becoming Mid-Class Devils. Considering our endeavours against Kokabiel, Shalba Beelzebub, and the valiant actions some of you displayed in Kyoto, you've demonstrated potential even for High-Class Devil status. Nevertheless, the initial step is attaining mid-class status. The exams shall comprise two components: firstly, a written examination encompassing Devil History and Rules, among other topics—and secondly, a physical evaluation assessing your combat prowess. I urge you all to prepare diligently for these examinations," she conveyed with unwavering determination.

The club members, except for Irina, nodded in understanding. However, something was off – Rias's tone was bitter, a stark contrast to her usual warmth. The recent events involving Issei had taken a toll on her, especially after her time in the Underworld with her parents, where she faced a stern lecture from her father, Zeoticus, and harsh punishment from her mother, Venelana.

With a forced smile, Rias dismissed her members, who bowed respectfully and left the Clubhouse to attend their classes. Akeno, however, lingered behind, her eyes fixed on Rias.

"Rias, have you heard the news about Issei's victory over Loki?" Akeno inquired, her voice laced with curiosity, trying to gauge Rias's reaction.

"I did, Akeno," Rias replied, her tone devoid of emotion.

"How do you find it?" Akeno pressed further, her intrigue evident.

"Issei has always possessed incredible strength, and I have unwavering faith that he will continue to evolve and become even more formidable. Therefore, it came as no surprise to me that he succeeded in whatever mission he embarked on," Rias responded, her words carefully chosen.

Despite her composed exterior, Rias seethed inside. She longed to be with Issei, to fight by his side against Loki. The solitude of her room in the Underworld, listening to "Kill Bill" by SZA in a futile attempt to distract herself, only fueled her frustration.

"It's quite accurate; that also implies he might make his return soon. Azazel mentioned that he's currently recuperating in Asgard after the battle," Akeno remarked, her voice contemplative.

A flicker of relief crossed Rias's face before she replied, "That's a good thing," masking her true emotions behind a facade of composure.

Amidst the discussions about Issei, he found himself adrift in a void of darkness, his consciousness residing within his own mindscape. Here, he sought a crucial conversation with Dark-sei, the sinister version of himself he had encountered before. Suddenly, he was back in the eerie ambience of the Dark Church, facing the ominous figure of Dark-sei.

"Well, hello, partner," Dark-sei greeted, his tone sending shivers down Issei's spine.

Fuelled by anger, Issei marched towards Dark-sei, his fists clenched. "You! You gave Loki the system! Didn't you?" he demanded through gritted teeth, ready to strike.

"Perhaps, but who really cares?" Dark-sei retorted with a sneer, infuriating Issei further.

"Answer the question!" Issei shouted, landing a punch squarely on Dark-sei's face, causing his head to explode.

Dark-sei's body liquefied, reforming behind Issei, who turned around to see the malevolent figure laughing. "Why would you do such a thing?!" Issei spat out, consumed by fury.

"Who knows?" Dark-sei replied cryptically.

Before Issei could retaliate, the side of the church exploded, revealing Ddraig, his scales now black with red gems, signifying his transformation into an evil dragon. Ddraig roared, shaking the entire church with righteous fury.

"In the name of my past wielder, you shall face the consequences for your actions!" Ddraig bellowed, his voice resonating with power.

"You overgrown lizard! I did your current host a favour! How many of your previous hosts have succumbed to madness and death because of those who came before them?" Dark-sei taunted in an eerie tone.

"Silence!" Ddraig roared, launching a colossal fireball toward Dark-sei. Dark-sei blocked it effortlessly, his laughter echoing in the chamber.

"I'll humour you with a response, but don't expect me to waste much time," Dark-sei sneered. "My aim is to mould you into a force of reckoning. Your pain or the suffering of others it matters not. In the end, you'll emerge as the epitome of power."

Ddraig and Issei were left stunned by Dark-sei's revelation.

"Who are you?" Ddraig demanded, narrowing his eyes.

"You and I are much closer than you think," Dark-sei replied with a smirk, leaving both Ddraig and Issei bewildered.

"Why me? Why am I the one you need to become powerful?" Issei questioned.

"Well, we'd enter spoiler territory if I explained. Sayonara," Dark-sei said before disappearing. With his departure, the church dissolved, leaving Ddraig and Issei in the cold, bottomless pit of darkness; their combined mindscape forever changed.

"So, what do you make of him?" Issei asked Ddraig.

"His presence, it feels peculiar. Almost evolved, yet ancient, predating even Great Red himself," Ddraig replied, his words laced with uncertainty.

"Are you suggesting he's from the farthest reaches of the future or predates existence itself?" Issei inquired.

"Perhaps. But I wouldn't place all my trust in him. Yes, he rescued you and granted you strength, but his tendency to withhold crucial information and subject others to the system raises concerns," Ddraig warned, his tone cautious.

"So, this whole thing with Loki was a test for me?" Issei scoffed.

"Most likely, partner. Be very wary of him," Ddraig advised.

"I'll keep that in mind," Issei replied before fading away from his mindscape, awakening once more in the physical world.

X

As Issei slowly opened his eyes, he found himself lying on his right shoulder, his gaze wandering around the unfamiliar room. A peculiar sensation washed over him, one he hadn't felt in ages. He realised he was almost naked, clad only in his boxers. Behind him, he could distinctly feel a pair of breasts pressed against his back, a slender feminine arm wrapped around his left side, holding onto him with an iron grip. He recognised the touch; it was Rossweisse's, a familiarity born from the time they had spent together.

Carefully, he shifted his body and saw her peacefully asleep. A warm smile tugged at his lips. He noticed she was entirely unclothed in the soft morning light, pressed intimately against him. A few strands of her hair fell onto her face, prompting him to brush them aside with his finger gently. At his touch, she stirred, her eyes meeting his silver gaze. It took a moment for her to register before a blush stained her cheeks, and she hastily yanked the blanket off Issei, covering herself in a hurried attempt at modesty.

"What's with that reaction? It's not like I haven't seen your body already," Issei said, his tone laced with playful teasing.

"Shut up!" Rossweisse blurted out, her embarrassment evident in her voice.

Issei smirked, his eyes glinting mischievously. "Well, aren't you becoming quite bold? Inching closer to me, pressing against me as we sleep, all the way to shedding every last layer before we rest?"

"It was nothing! I simply followed my duty as a Valkyrie, as per Odin's request," she retorted, her tone serious. However, her eyes avoided his, trying to conceal her flushed cheeks.

Issei chuckled, his amusement evident. "I'd bet my money on Azazel being the one who spilled the beans about how Rias healed me in the past, wouldn't you? It's just their style."

"So this is Azazel's fault?!" Rossweisse exclaimed, annoyance flickering in her eyes.

"Seriously, what did you think would happen? These two are always on your tail," Issei remarked, a chuckle escaping him, even as Rossweisse shot him an icy glare.

Issei slowly stirred from his slumber, blinking away the remnants of sleep. Confusion etched his face as he inquired, "How long was I out for?"

Rossweisse, ever the picture of seriousness and precision, responded, "For this evening, the medical prognosis indicated a longer period of unconsciousness, but it appears their estimation was inaccurate."

Still groggy, Issei pushed further, asking, "I recovered fast. What happened after I passed out?"

With her customary precision, Rossweisse explained, "After the defeat of Loki, the enchantment he cast upon Asgard finally dissipated, allowing Odin and his forces to descend upon us. Odin then summoned us to Asgard and insisted that we escort you back with us, that you may convalesce."

Concern flickered in Issei's voice as he asked, "And what about Astrid?"

"She had her Sacred Gear examined to check if the power exertion would be a danger for her. But everything is fine, although most are confused on why her Sacred Gear looks like your Boosted Gear," Rossweisse replied.

Issei pondered this; his curiosity was evident. "Well, that's reassuring, and I couldn't help but notice that her Sacred Gear bears a striking resemblance to my own. Ddraig mentioned something about her drawing inspiration from mine."

"She's currently sleeping in her own room," Rossweisse informed him.

A playful tone crept into Issei's voice as he teased, "Mhm, you just decided to share a pillow with me, huh?"

Rossweisse couldn't resist the playful banter. She picked up a pillow and tossed it at Issei, who caught it and retaliated with his own throw. Caught off guard and unable to dodge without revealing herself or dropping the blanket she clutched, Rossweisse accepted her fate and was struck in the face.

"Issei! Stop!" she yelled in embarrassment.

He chuckled in response, retorting, "You started it!"

Issei's mischief knew no bounds as he suddenly got a mischievous idea. He grabbed the blanket Rossweisse was using to cover herself and began tugging it playfully.

Rossweisse, flustered and mortified, yelped, "What are you doing?!"

Issei wore a sadistic smile as he continued to pull the blanket, teasing, "What does it look like?"

Rossweisse, her face flushed, retorted, "Stop! You're being very inappropriate!"

With a laugh, Issei countered, "What's inappropriate is sleeping naked in the same bed with someone you aren't in a relationship with; forget that you were completely pressed against me as well."

Rossweisse tried maintaining her composure and protested, "I was merely administering healing magic!" She gently tugged at the blanket, attempting to conceal her embarrassment.

Their tug-of-war continued until Issei exerted more effort, causing Rossweisse to be pulled towards him. The blanket now covered both of them, their faces mere inches apart. Issei wore a smirk, while Rossweisse was entirely red. They remained in that position for a moment before Issei spoke.

"What are you doing? Perv?" he teased with a chuckle.

Rossweisse stammered in protest, "What?! Nothing?!" She tried to move away, but Issei held her shoulders to keep her in place.

Issei tightened his grip on Rossweisse's shoulders, preventing her from pulling away. His voice, low and suggestive, pierced the air, "Something tells me you wanted to fly onto me like this."

Rossweisse, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, averted her eyes from his intense gaze, stammering, "I don't know what you're talking about!"

"Look at me," Issei demanded, his tone still low but commanding.

Reluctantly, Rossweisse raised her gaze, locking eyes with Issei's steel silver orbs. At that moment, she felt a magnetic pull, as if her very essence was being drawn towards him. Their foreheads touched, their breaths mingling in the charged air. Before anything could transpire between them, the door to their room swung open, revealing Odin and Astrid.

Caught in a compromising position, Odin couldn't contain his amusement, his snicker quickly escalating into hearty laughter. Rossweisse, mortified by the intrusion, hastily retreated from Issei, wrapping herself in a blanket, trying to shield herself from the impending humiliation. She buried her face in the fabric, desperately wishing to disappear from the prying eyes and the words she knew were about to come.

Odin, the mischievous god, couldn't help but make a playful comment, his laughter ringing out, "Issei, my boy, I didn't know you were this far into your relationship. Should've left a sock on your doorknob."

Issei chuckled, catching the humour in Odin's words, and Rossweisse shook her head, still concealed beneath the blanket. Astrid, catching on to the situation, blushed in embarrassment and sought refuge behind Odin's leg.

With a touch of annoyance in her voice, Rossweisse spoke from beneath the covers, "Odin, if you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you could step out for a moment. I need to attend to my attire."

Odin, undeterred, teased further, "Oh, you want to put some clothes on? Or perhaps you want another hour or 2 with Issei by yourself," he laughed.

Taking charge, Rossweisse directed her stern words at Issei and Odin, "That includes you too, Issei."

Issei, bewildered, asked, "Wait, what? What did I do?"

"You know exactly what you did, Mr. Now leave!" Rossweisse's command was firm, her patience wearing thin.

Defeated, Issei sighed, "Alright then," as he stood up. Realising he was still in his boxers, he swiftly retreated into his pocket dimension. Emerging a moment later, he was clad in black sweatpants and a red hoodie. He approached Odin and Astrid, who stood by the door.

Ever the tease, Odin whispered to Issei, chuckling, "Looks like you're getting whipped already, my boy."

"I heard that!" Rossweisse's voice echoed from inside.

Chuckling, Odin decided it was best to depart, saying, "Let's leave before she bursts a blood vessel."

With that, all three of them left Rossweisse behind. As they exited, Rossweisse removed the blanket from her head, her face still as red as a tomato, left alone in the aftermath of their playful banter.

X

As the trio moved down the hallway, following Odin's lead, Astrid rushed up to Issei and wrapped her arms around his leg, seeking comfort. Issei couldn't help but chuckle at her gesture.

"What's this for?" Issei inquired, his smile warm and genuine.

Astrid's voice, muffled against his pants, managed to speak through her sniffles. "I'm just glad you're okay, and thank you for saving me."

Issei gently ruffled her hair, his touch soothing. "Now, now, a brave girl like you shouldn't worry about trivial matters," he reassured her, his tone tender.

Looking up, Astrid wiped away her tears and asked, "You think I'm brave?"

"Indeed," Issei affirmed, his eyes reflecting pride. "It took courage. But let's not forget, it was your cunning strategy that eliminated that serpent clone, paving the way for me to take down Loki. Your determination pushed you beyond your boundaries, unlocking your hidden potential," he declared, his words filled with encouragement, a reassuring grin on his face.

Astrid's eyes widened in realisation, a radiant smile lighting up her face. They continued to walk for a few more minutes, following Odin, until they reached the armoury of their building. The room was filled with armour and weapons, a sight to behold.

"Over here," Odin called out to Issei, guiding him to a specific spot.

Issei approached the table where Odin stood, his eyes falling upon the familiar weapons displayed before him – a staff made of skulls, a four-foot case, and a vase. As he recognised the items - Ascalon, the Dread Knight Long Sword, and the Fenrir Gauntlets and Grieves - he contemplated the unknown staff and case, realising the vase contained the sealed essence of Loki, captured by Rossweisse.

Odin's voice cut through the air, his tone firm as he pushed the weapons, staff, case, and vase toward Issei. "I believe these are yours."

Quickly, Issei seized the weapons he knew, storing them in his Pocket Dimension. His confusion deepened when Odin presented the vase containing Loki's essence.

--

"You're giving me your son?" Issei questioned, his tone laced with bewilderment.

Odin's response was unyielding. "Well, it was you who defeated him; he's now your responsibility." He placed the vase firmly in Issei's arms, leaving Issei grappling with the weight of the situation.

--

Issei eyed the vase sceptically, voicing his doubts. "It sounds like you just want to get rid of him," he said, his annoyance palpable.

Odin shrugged casually. "Perhaps. Anyway, this might be interesting for you. I doubt you'll be able to use it." He nudged the case toward Issei, who, fueled by curiosity, decided to investigate. Upon opening it, he found the Dragon Slaying Sword, the very weapon Loki had used against him. Despite the burn from Samael's poison lingering on the blade, a triumphant smirk played on his lips.

"Looks like I should be calling you Santa," Issei remarked, chuckling at the irony.

Odin chuckled in return, explaining the sword's origin. "Well, I'm glad you like it; when my forces found it, I knew you wanted it since we found Loki's right arm cut off near the sword."

Issei closed the case, stowing it away, only to notice Astrid wearing a Valkyrie helmet while handling a sword.

"Hey, be careful with that," he cautioned her, his concern evident in his voice.

Astrid nodded in understanding, and soon, Rossweisse joined them, dressed in her usual attire. Their eyes met briefly; Rossweisse looked away, blushing, while Issei smirked knowingly.

Then, Odin handed Issei the skull staff, further perplexing him.

"I don't know what this is?" Issei admitted, his confusion evident as he held the staff.

Rossweisse stepped in to clarify, her voice gentle. "It's Helskja's staff; I thought you would've liked it since you collect weapons."

With a decisive gesture, Issei considered her words and handed the staff to Rossweisse. "I do, but she was your kill. And if you can use this better than her, it's yours." Rossweisse accepted the staff, a mix of surprise and gratitude on her face, as the group prepared for what lay ahead.

Rossweisse held the staff in her hands, her eyes wide with awe as she looked up at Issei.

"Um, thank you, Issei," she said shyly, her voice barely audible.

With a hearty laugh, Odin teased Issei, "Issei, is this your engagement gift to your fiance?"

In response, Rossweisse playfully bonked Odin on the head with the staff. "Stop it!" she snapped, her anger evident.

Issei and Odin both chuckled at her reaction.

Moving on to more pressing matters, Rossweisse inquired, "Onto a more important matter. Did you get in contact with Midgardsomr?"

"I did," Odin replied, his tone serious. "He said he went to young Astrid's sacred gear because he saw how Issei and the rest fought against Loki and wanted in on the action."

Issei's irritation flared. "So that lazy dragon wanted in on the action so badly that he endangered Astrid?"

Odin nodded gravely. "It appears so, and we can't remove him from her without killing her."

"So she'll be in constant danger as long as she lives," Issei said, his voice filled with concern.

"That's why I proposed she stay here at Asgard and train to be a Valkyrie," Odin explained, his gaze shifting to Rossweisse.

Rossweisse chimed in, her voice confident, "She'll be taken care of by my Grandma. She's a well-known Valkyrie."

Issei nodded in agreement, his expression serious, all while Astrid listened curiously.

"Why can't I stay with Issei and Rossweisse?" Astrid asked in a shy tone.

Odin gently explained, "Well, Issei is still in high school, and Rossweisse works at the same high school. She's also in a Devil Peerage."

"What?! Issei is still in high school?! And I thought Rossweisse was young!?" Astrid exclaimed in disbelief.

Rossweisse, hearing comments on her age, cried anime tears, prompting chuckles from both Odin and Issei.

"Shockingly, I'm actually 17," Issei said to Astrid, his thoughts adding, "Well, I'm physically closer to 20."

Astrid blinked in surprise. "Wow, you look a lot older than you are! Then how old is Rossweisse?" she asked.

Issei answered, "She's 19."

"Wow, you're both so young!" Astrid exclaimed, her excitement palpable.

With a warm tone, Odin suggested, "Since both of you will leave Asgard soon, why not spend the day with young Astrid?"

A smile lit up Astrid's face, although hidden beneath it was a touch of sadness that they couldn't stay with her.

"Alright then. Rossweisse, you know this place better than I do, so please tell me what we should do today," Issei said, turning to Rossweisse for guidance.

"Why, of course, I know the best parts of Asgard," she replied confidently.

"Lead the way," Issei said to Rossweisse. The trio walked off, with Astrid getting in between Rossweisse and Issei, holding their hands as they left Odin's castle. Odin, watching them, had a warm smile on his face.

X

After leaving the castle, Rossweisse guided them to a store in Asgard, where she purchased a picnic set for three. Issei and Astrid wandered the store, marvelling at the array of items on the shelves. At the same time, Rossweisse meticulously selected what she believed they would need for the day's adventure. Carrying their provisions, Rossweisse led them to a nearby river where a Logboat company awaited. She arranged for a boat large enough for three people, with Issei taking the oar to row.

Astrid's eyes widened in awe at the surrounding beauty as they glided down the river. Rossweisse and Issei shared a chuckle, amused by her wonderment. Issei, too, was captivated by Asgard's unexpected forest-like terrain, a stark contrast to his preconceived notions of the realm. Rossweisse handed Astrid her phone, urging her to capture the breathtaking scenery.

"Issei, stay vigilant," Rossweisse warned, her eyes scanning the river. "The current is about to intensify."

Heeding her advice, Issei nodded, his grip tightening on the oar. As the river's pace quickened, Issei let the current guide them, allowing the boat to drift freely while he used the oar to steer. Rossweisse informed them about the upcoming rapids, assuring them that the river's magic would keep their boat afloat.

Excitement filled Astrid's eyes as the boat surged forward, the rapids rocking them from side to side. Her arms shot up in delight, prompting Rossweisse to secure her in place. Meanwhile, Issei bore the brunt of the splashing water, his clothes soaked. Rossweisse and Astrid exchanged amused glances, laughing at Issei's drenched state, much to his annoyance.

After navigating the rapids, Rossweisse directed Issei to the shoreline, attached to a beautiful beach and grassy area. Issei leapt out of the boat, using his powers to push it ashore and anchor it on land. Rossweisse and Astrid stepped onto the beach, their eyes widening in confusion as they noticed Issei's lower pants and shoes steaming.

"I'm drying off my clothes with my powers," Issei explained, earning nods of understanding from his companions.

Continuing their journey, led by Rossweisse, they encountered a steep incline. Issei and Rossweisse effortlessly climbed up while Astrid struggled. Without hesitation, Issei offered her a piggyback ride, which she gladly accepted. Astrid clung to Issei's back as he ascended the incline. After reaching level ground, she continued to ride on his back as they followed Rossweisse.

Issei took out his phone and handed it to Astrid, encouraging her to capture the picturesque moment. Astrid enthusiastically began taking photos, but soon, a mischievous idea crossed her mind. She playfully held the phone up in front of Issei's face, attempting to take a selfie with him. Issei, mindful of his expression due to Ddraig's criticism, tried to smile without looking brooding, adding to the challenge.

Their journey led them to an unexpected destination: a beach overlooking the vast ocean. Issei hadn't anticipated finding a beach in Asgard, a place he thought belonged in the realm of myth rather than reality. The blend of fiction and reality puzzled him, questioning the boundaries between worlds.

While Issei observed their surroundings, he felt a gentle pull on his pants. Looking down, he found Astrid trying to get his attention, a frisbee in her hand. Issei took the frisbee from her, deciding to engage in a game.

"Alright, run back. I'll throw it to you," he said to Astrid, who eagerly nodded and retreated to a suitable distance, anticipation lighting up her face.

In his mind, Issei cautioned himself, "Let's not go overboard." He threw the frisbee, intending for it to reach Astrid without excessive force. However, his aim proved too strong, and the frisbee zoomed toward Astrid at high speed. Quick on her feet, Astrid activated her Sacred Gear Gauntlet, leapt into the air, and caught the frisbee, displaying impressive agility.

Excitement lit up Astrid's face as she prepared to throw it back. Just before she released it, the gem on her gauntlet glowed. Issei observed closely, recognising it as an ability related to light manipulation.

"As I recall, her Sacred Gear involves light manipulation," Issei deduced, analysing the situation. "The gem on her gauntlet must trigger this ability."

Astrid threw the frisbee, but to Issei's surprise, it split into five, each moving toward him at different speeds and angles. Issei's eyes darted between the projectiles, quickly assessing the situation. He moved, jumping and grabbing one of the frisbees, causing the others to disappear.

"How did you find the real one?" Astrid asked her tone a mix of curiosity and annoyance.

Issei chuckled at her frustration, finding it cute. "Well, the fakes didn't cast any shadows on the ground, and they made no sound while flying," he explained, impressed by Astrid's ability but still managing to stay one step ahead. Astrid nodded, absorbing his words, her curiosity piqued.

Rossweisse called out to Astrid, her voice gentle and motherly, "Astrid, come over here. You need to put on sunscreen."

Astrid hurried over to Rossweisse, who carefully applied sunscreen on her face and neck. Together, the trio made their way to the beach's edge. However, before they left, Issei stationed a Soul Extracted Being, a large wolf resembling a fierce guardian, to protect their belongings.

Rossweisse took a moment to roll up her pant sleeves before stepping into the water, ensuring her clothes stayed dry.

Curiosity piqued, Issei questioned Rossweisse, "Why do you wear suits all the time?"

"I'm just used to it," she replied, her voice shy.

Issei opened a portal to his Dimension, offering Rossweisse a chance to change into something more comfortable.

"Go ahead, change your clothes into something comfortable," he encouraged.

Understanding his intention, Rossweisse entered the portal, emerging moments later in one of Issei's oversized shirts and shorts that reached past her knees. She tied the pants securely to prevent them from falling.

"Um, is this okay?" she asked, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"Yeah, it's fine," Issei assured her with a smile.

As they waded into the water, Astrid held Issei's hand for reassurance, testing the waters cautiously. She let go once she felt at ease and started splashing around joyfully. Rossweisse engrossed in capturing the moment on camera, suddenly found herself drenched from a playful splash by Issei.

"What was that for?!" she exclaimed, a furrow forming on her forehead.

"Weren't you laughing at me when I got drenched on the boat? Well, this is just karma!" Issei retorted, kicking water towards her with a mischievous grin.

Rossweisse retaliated, kicking water back at him, and soon Astrid joined in, their laughter mingling with the sound of splashing water.

After their playful water escapade, the trio retreated to their belongings, seeking shade beneath the trees. Issei helped Rossweisse set up a picnic blanket, arranging the food they had brought. As they enjoyed their meal, a black and white kitten approached them, meowing for attention. Astrid fed the kitten some tuna from her sandwich, engrossed in play.

Observing Astrid's happiness, Rossweisse smiled, her gaze then shifting to Issei. She noticed him watching Astrid and the kitten, recalling his earlier words about feeling anxious, unsure if she would ever find someone special. The moment, filled with shared laughter and warmth, seemed to ease those worries, even if just for a while.

Small Flashback

Issei spoke with a wisdom that belied his youth, his words carrying a weight of experience beyond his years. "Love is not something you should force," he asserted, his voice calm and insightful. "When you actively seek out love, you inadvertently attract individuals who may not align with your desires. The most profound love often emerges unexpectedly, without anticipation. There are no celestial archers shooting arrows or definitive signs to search for. Love simply manifests naturally. I assure you, if you were to actively pursue it, you would likely encounter pain and disappointment."

Small Flashback Ends

Rossweisse found herself lost in a moment, her mind replaying Issei's words like a broken record, the echoes filling her thoughts as she stared at him. Suddenly, Issei turned his gaze towards her, and instinctively, she looked away, her cheeks burning with embarrassment. Issei chuckled at her reaction before flipping the situation, fixing his eyes on her.

"Stop staring at me!" she pouted, unable to hide her irritation.

"Why? You were doing that just now," Issei countered, a playful grin dancing on his lips.

"No, I wasn't! I was staring at the scenery!" Rossweisse retorted, trying to mask her embarrassment.

"Oh yes, my face is quite scenic," Issei teased, finger tracing a path along his jawline.

"Shut up!" she shouted, frustration bubbling within her as she pounded on Issei's chest. He swiftly caught her forearms, stopping her assault.

"Perhaps I should use my Speed Thinking ability to find out what you're thinking," he suggested, a smirk playing on his lips.

Fear gripped Rossweisse as she recalled Issei's ability, the very power that could uncover her innermost thoughts. "No!" she exclaimed, struggling to free herself from his grip.

Issei eventually released her, and she moved back, distancing herself from the teasing banter. He began, his tone dripping with amusement, "You know, I'm shocked."

"What are you shocked about?" she asked, curiosity piqued.

"Well, the last time I went on a date, it was with Akeno. I distinctly recall you catching us in the middle of it, and you quipped, 'A student like you should be focused on studying rather than going on dates,'" he recounted, confidence lacing his words.

"Oh, indeed, I recall that moment," she admitted, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush.

"But it's rather surprising that you can't seem to do the same now, considering we're both expected to be in school. Yet here you are, supposed to be the one teaching," he teased, a wry grin forming on his lips.

"Ahem! Just to clarify, this is not a date, okay? I, um, have more important things to focus on," Rossweisse stammered, her cheeks growing warmer.

"Oh, we aren't? Then what do you call this then?" Issei teased, his tone playful.

Caught off guard and unable to respond, Rossweisse fell silent, her gaze dropping as she let her racing heartbeat gradually calm. After a while, Astrid returned, cradling the kitten in her hands, providing a welcome distraction from the teasing banter.

With eager eyes, Astrid looked at Rossweisse, her voice laced with hope, "Can we keep him?"

The little kitten responded with a meow that seemed to plead for acceptance, melting the hearts of both Rossweisse and Issei. Issei, fully supportive of Astrid keeping the kitten, turned to Rossweisse, awaiting her response since Astrid would stay with Rossweisse's grandmother after they departed from Asgard.

Rossweisse responded with a warm smile and gentle voice, "Sure, I know my granny won't mind."

As the sun descended, Issei decided it was time for them to leave. Odin had wanted Astrid and Issei to meet Rossweisse's grandmother, Göndul. Issei started to pack up the picnic set, assisted by Rossweisse. At the same time, Astrid watched, leaning against a tree, cradling the kitten.

The trio retraced their steps back to the boat they had arrived in. Upon reaching it, Rossweisse, Astrid, and the kitten settled down while Issei pushed the boat back into the water and jumped in. Using the oar, he paddled towards the Logboat store dock through the familiar route. They navigated the rapids again, an experience that brought joy to Rossweisse, Astrid, and the kitten but left Issei drenched, eliciting laughter from the others.

After a while, they returned to the Logboat store. Issei assisted the store owner in moving the boat back into the storage section. The trio then set off towards Odin's castle, their original point of departure, their hearts light with the newfound addition to their group.

X

As they stepped into the castle, their eyes fell upon a remarkable sight: Odin, the imposing figure, engaged in conversation with an elderly lady draped in a regal, deep blue robe. Her presence exuded confidence, her stature akin to Rossweisse's. This was Göndul, a renowned Magician and Valkyrie, who also happened to be Rossweisse's grandmother.

"Granny?!" Rossweisse exclaimed, her joy evident as she rushed toward her grandmother.

"Rose?!" Göndul responded with equal excitement, her arms wide open in anticipation of a warm embrace.

Puzzled by the unexpected encounter, Issei mused internally, "Granny? Rose?"

Rossweisse embraced her grandmother tightly, tears streaming down her face onto Göndul's shoulder.

"Now, now, Rose, you're a strong girl. So why are you crying?" Göndul inquired, her tone warm and comforting as she gently patted her granddaughter's back.

Meanwhile, intrigued by the scene, Astrid whispered to Issei, "Issei, is that Rossweisse's grandma?"

"It appears so," Issei replied, his curiosity piqued by the unfolding family reunion.

Göndul's gaze shifted between Astrid and Issei, her expression warm and approving when she looked at Astrid. But when her eyes landed on Issei, a scowl crept across her face.

In her mind, Göndul thought, "Bad boy!" recalling her warning to Rossweisse about troublesome men who only sought innocence in women. Issei's appearance gave off that vibe, confirming her suspicions.

With determination, Göndul approached Astrid and Issei, with Rossweisse following closely. She knelt at Astrid's eye level, patting her head gently.

"Hello, child. Did you enjoy your day?" Göndul inquired, her tone warm and friendly.

Astrid responded cheerfully, "Hi, ma'am, and yes, I did. Rossweisse, Issei, and I had a lot of fun today."

Amused by Astrid's enthusiasm, Göndul chuckled, then turned her attention to Issei.

"I heard you defeated Loki; well done," she commended Issei, her tone stern.

Issei, seemingly unfazed, replied, "Yes, ma'am."

Göndul's demeanour turned almost threatening as she questioned him further, "What are your intentions with my granddaughter?"

Odin raised an eyebrow at the question while Rossweisse, flustered, hurriedly intervened.

"Granny! It isn't like that!" Rossweisse protested, attempting to calm Göndul down. The air around them crackled with tension, revealing the situation's complexity.

Odin smirked, ready to interject, but Issei discreetly signalled him to stay silent. Acknowledging the unspoken request, Odin withheld his words, curious about the unfolding situation.

Inside Issei's mind, Ddraig's warning echoed, "Listen closely, partner. If you seek a harmonious connection with the Valkyrie, I advise against your usual provocative behaviour." Issei challenged Ddraig's assumption, asking, "Why would you assume that I'm interested in a relationship with Rossweisse?"

Ddraig countered, his thoughts piercing Issei's defences, "Partner, who are you lying to? Me or yourself?"

Issei, caught in the complexity of his feelings, scoffed at Ddraig's words, torn between his desires and the expectations of those around him.

Contemplating his response, Issei recognised the delicate balance he needed to strike. "I need to respond in a manner that will meet the expectations of both Rossweisse and Göndul," he thought. "If I come across as too passive for Göndul, Rossweisse might think I'm not interested in her. Conversely, if I prioritise Rossweisse, Göndul might perceive it as me simply taking advantage of the situation."

Summoning his courage, Issei spoke, his voice warm, a tone he hadn't used in almost two years. "Well, you see," he began, his words carefully chosen, "Rossweisse is a lovely and talented person, and I appreciate that about her. If I were ever to have a wife, I'd choose her."

A hush fell over the room. Rossweisse trembled, Odin smirked, Göndul appeared confused, and Astrid seemed delighted.

Issei pressed on, his tone unwavering, "And she's very beautiful."

Unable to contain her emotions, Rossweisse approached Issei, her face flushed, and she began beating on his chest, her usual fiery demeanour on full display.

"What are you saying?! Dummy!" she exclaimed, her words carrying a mix of frustration and embarrassment.

Göndul stood there, astonished by her granddaughter's uncharacteristic display of emotions. Despite her maturity, Rossweisse was not immune to the throes of affection. At that moment, it was evident that she harboured a crush. This revelation left Göndul bewildered yet oddly pleased by the unexpected turn of events.

Issei stood his ground, unyielding in his honesty. "Well, I just spoke my mind, or my heart rather," he muttered the last part to himself, his words hanging in the air, a testament to his sincerity.

Rossweisse, fueled by a mix of frustration and hidden affection, continued to pound on Issei's chest, unaware of his muttered confession. The others, however, caught his words, their reactions mirroring the initial surprise.

Göndul, observing the scene with keen eyes, detected the genuine connection between Issei and Rossweisse. A soft smile graced her lips as she approached, placing a comforting hand on Rossweisse's shoulder. Rossweisse halted her assault on Issei, her attention drawn to Göndul's warm expression. Stepping back, Göndul spoke to everyone, her voice conveying a sense of understanding, "I guess I should take a young one with me back to my home; after all, she'll be attending the school Rossweisse once attended." She patted Astrid's head gently; her decision met with a mix of emotions from the young girl.

Tears welled in Astrid's eyes as she realised the prospect of leaving Issei and Rossweisse behind. Sniffling, she voiced her fear, "Issei, Rossweisse, you'll come to see me again, right?"

Issei, touched by Astrid's concern, knelt to her level, his touch gentle and reassuring. "Of course, we will. We'll always be here for you, no matter where we are. And we promise to visit whenever we can," he said, his smile offering solace.

Rossweisse joined Issei, placing her hand on Astrid's other cheek, her eyes reflecting empathy. "Astrid, I'm staying in Asgard for a while. I'll help you settle in with my Granny and assist you with school. And, as Issei said, we'll come and visit whenever we can," she assured, her warmth enveloping the young girl.

Moved by their words, Astrid embraced them tightly, her tears flowing freely. "Thank you for everything! Mom and Dad!" she exclaimed, finding comfort in their embrace.

Issei and Rossweisse held Astrid close, their voices harmonising in a heartfelt response, "You're welcome, sweetie," their words filled with love and sincerity.

As Astrid departed with Göndul, leaving through the castle's front door, she waved back at Issei and Rossweisse, her joy evident despite her tears. The duo reciprocated with a warm wave, their bond with Astrid apparent even from a distance. Yet, as the moment of warmth passed, Rossweisse unconsciously rested her head on Issei's shoulder, finding solace in his presence.

Their moment of tenderness, however, was interrupted by Odin's teasing remark. "Well, don't you look like a cute couple?" he commented, his tone laced with amusement.

Rolling their eyes, Issei and Rossweisse turned to face Odin, their expressions blending annoyance and affectionate camaraderie. Their eyes met, and a shared chuckle passed between them, a brief respite before the challenges ahead.

X

After a few hours, the newly announced couple could be found at a lively bar in the heart of Asgard, as Odin had whimsically declared them. They sat comfortably in a booth, a contrast of age and experience. Rossweisse, ever responsible, had firmly refused to allow Issei to partake in alcohol due to his age. However, Issei had cheekily argued that he was physically 19. However, when the bartender requested an ID card, Issei handed over an old one that displayed his former self. Rossweisse vouched for him, and he was reluctantly allowed to stay.

Showing his caring side, Issei attempted to limit Rossweisse's alcohol intake, aware of her reputation as a bad drunk and lightweight. He requested the bartender to serve her a weaker drink, a decision that earned a begrudging groan from Rossweisse. While Issei sipped on his soda, he initiated a conversation with her.

"So, you decided to stay a while in Asgard?" he asked, curiosity lacing his tone.

Rossweisse, her gaze filled with determination, replied, "After the Rating Game with Sairaorg's peerage, I couldn't help but feel a bit inadequate. Thus, I've chosen to remain behind, dedicating myself to honing my abilities and gaining better control over them."

Issei couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt, recalling the hurtful words he had directed at his former peerage members during the Rating Match.

"I'm sorry about what I said during the Rating Match," he apologised.

Rossweisse reassured him warmly, "Please don't blame yourself. Training alongside you has truly broadened my perspective on magic. I'm eager to explore further, as the notion of melding multiple magical disciplines into one cohesive concept was previously uncharted territory. I firmly believe that I can harness even greater power. It's time for me to forge my own path rather than relying solely on the teachings of others."

Issei nodded, his smile returning. "I see. Well, knowing you, I know you can accomplish anything you want. I noticed that when I was training you." His words carried genuine admiration and encouragement.

In the dimly lit back area of the bar, Issei's eyes fell upon a mysterious woman. She was no ordinary figure, but an elderly lady of imposing presence, her skin kissed by the sun and her head crowned with horns. Her silvery hair cascaded down her back, interwoven with delicate braids, and her gaze glowed with luminous golden intensity. She wore a magnificent gown, a mosaic of yellows, browns, and greens, adorned with intricate leather cords and shimmering golden ornaments. She exuded an aura of wisdom and power while leaning on a tall, wooden staff.

An inexplicable sensation gripped Issei as the enigmatic woman commanded him to follow her. Compelled by an inner force, he uttered a brief farewell to Rose.

"Rose, I'll be back," he murmured, leaving Rossweisse stunned; her name on Issei's lips leaving Rossweisse with wide eyes and a heart brimming with delight at the newfound connection.

Following the mysterious woman's lead, Issei ventured into a shadowy alleyway behind the bar, only to find himself transported to a vast grassy plain that bore no resemblance to the place he had just left. He encountered the mysterious woman once more, now accompanied by two others.

The first woman, middle-aged and statuesque, possessed long brown hair, petite horns, and radiant golden eyes. She wore a brown and green gown accentuated by a gleaming golden necklace and a crescent moon-shaped belt buckle. The second woman, a young girl, boasted dark brown hair and golden-hued skin. Delicate leather bands adorned her arms, and a crescent moon-shaped belt graced her waist.

Suddenly, Issei was overcome by a debilitating migraine, his head throbbing with excruciating pain. Amidst the agony, he experienced vivid memories that weren't his own. When the pain finally subsided, he confronted the trio, his face contorted in pain and anger, his right eye fixed on them while his left hand covered his face.

"Who are you?" he demanded through gritted teeth, the pain still evident in his voice.

"The question isn't who we are, but who you are," the first woman cryptically replied.

In a fit of frustration, Issei summoned the Swords of Fire and Ice using his Dimensional Storage ability, pointing the fiery dagger at the women. His eyes glowed red, his patience wearing thin.

But the ability failed.

"The eyes, you're him," commented the second woman.

"Who?" Issei asked impatiently.

"You're his second coming," the third woman smirked.

"Sorry, but I'm far from being Christ," Issei chuckled, trying to mask his confusion with humour.

"Soon enough, you will understand the truth of your birth, your fate, and your destiny," they all intoned in unison, the winds intensifying, kicking up dirt and dust.

Issei closed his eyes to shield them from the flying debris. When he opened them, he found himself back near the outside of the bar.

"Weirdos," he muttered, shaking his head in bewilderment, his encounter with the enigmatic trio leaving him perplexed and disturbed.

Issei entered the bar and immediately spotted Rossweisse, who was utterly wasted, babbling incoherently. Her speech was slurred, making it difficult to decipher her words. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation.

"I knew that this would happen; I should've stayed behind," Issei muttered, his voice carrying a weary tone.

Rossweisse's drunken antics drew the attention of everyone in the bar. Still tired and perplexed, Issei couldn't fathom how things had escalated so quickly.

"I don't think I was gone for long; how did things escalate this far?" he muttered again, his tone laced with fatigue.

His attention was suddenly diverted as a group of men approached Rossweisse, their intentions inappropriate.

"Hey there, pretty lady, you want to have some fun?" one of the men leered, his grin dripping with malice.

Issei's eyes narrowed dangerously at the man's audacity. Rossweisse, in her drunken state, retorted defiantly, "Huh? No! I'm here with my boyfriend!"

"Boyfriend? Well, I don't see him here!" another man laughed mockingly.

"Perhaps you should turn around, then you'll find him," Issei said, his voice dripping with menace as he spoke from behind the group.

The group spun around to confront the perceived threat, only to realise that the person challenging them was a head taller than the rest. Issei's athletic build and cold silver eyes sent shivers down their spines. Two men gulped nervously while the third, heavily intoxicated and clueless, attempted a feeble punch at Issei's jaw. The punch lacked force and form, causing no damage but resulting in the man screaming in pain as he clutched his fractured hand.

"Get him, boys!" the other two men roared, charging towards Issei.

Amid the chaos, Issei's thoughts raced with unexpected excitement, "I always wanted a bar fight."

Issei found himself surrounded by a group of hostile men. The first assailant lunged at him, aiming for his neck, but Issei swiftly blocked the attack with his forearm. Utilising the momentum, he retaliated with a powerful blow to the attacker's chest, forcing him to gasp for air. The man was sent flying, crashing into a table occupied by his companions.

Undeterred, another attacker swung a pool cue at Issei, who deftly stopped the weapon with his palm. With a swift motion, he wrenched the cue from the assailant's grip and struck him on the head, rendering him unconscious.

A bottle whizzed past Issei, shattering against the wall. He turned to find another group of men from the same faction, their knuckles cracking menacingly as they advanced.

Issei's thoughts echoed with sinister amusement, "Good, more to the slaughter. I was disappointed my fun was over already," he mused, his smirk revealing a chilling intent.

The first man attempted a punch at Issei's face, but Issei skillfully dodged. Swiftly knelt and delivered a powerful uppercut. The force of the blow propelled the man into the ceiling before he collapsed, knocked out cold.

Next, an assailant lunged at Issei with a broken bottle, but Issei's martial prowess prevailed. He skillfully deflected the attack, disarmed the man, and broke his arm, leaving him writhing in pain on the floor.

The third attacker tried a kick, but Issei blocked with his hands and skillfully maneuvered, causing the man to lose his balance. With a swift move, Issei swept the man's legs, sending him crashing to the ground, unconscious.

Issei's thoughts remained unimpressed, "Well, that was disappointing," he pondered, expecting more of a challenge.

Amidst the chaos, Issei heard clapping and cheering. He turned to see Rossweisse applauding his combat skills enthusiastically.

"Woohoo, that's my boyfriend, everyone!" Rossweisse cheered loudly, her voice cutting through the din of the bar.

Her attention shifted to a woman in the crowd who seemed stunned by the fight. Rossweisse glared at her and pointed, her tone turning threatening, "He's mine! So back off! Or I'll beat you up as well."

Issei couldn't help but be surprised by her fierce protectiveness.

"Is this really the same person who performed a Nuclear Technique?" he wondered, his astonishment evident.

With a triumph, Issei approached Rossweisse, lifting her onto his shoulder as she continued to cheer ecstatically. Together, they exited the bar, leaving behind a stunned crowd and a handful of unconscious men.

As they returned to Odin's castle, Rossweisse laughed and joked about the fight, her spirits high. Before entering the castle, Issei glanced back and admired the world tree in the moonlit night. The sight captivated him; its beauty magnified under the cover of darkness.

X

Grateful for Odin's absence, Issei quietly returned to the room where he had found Rossweisse earlier. Gently, he laid her down on the bed, joining her. As she turned over and pushed against his body, a soft smile played on her lips, and Issei couldn't help but chuckle.

"You're a bad drunk," he teased, his laughter mixing with his words.

In her inebriated state, Rossweisse retorted playfully, "And you're a good boyfriend."

Amidst the lighthearted moment, Issei's mind involuntarily drifted back to a painful memory from two years ago—when he was on the verge of becoming Rias's boyfriend. The scene of ORC ganging up on him, ostracising him, replayed in his mind, casting a shadow over his thoughts.

Lost in his reverie, something unexpected happened. Issei's eyes widened in surprise as he felt warmth on his lips. He looked down, only to find Rossweisse's face inches away from his own. After the initial shock, he leaned in and kissed her back. Their kiss deepened, and Rossweisse's hands found their way to Issei's face while he wrapped his arms around her waist, the taste of alcohol lingering on her breath.

When they finally broke the kiss, Rossweisse blushed, her breathing heavy. "You think too much," she murmured drunkenly, pushing her finger gently against Issei's cheek before resting her head on his chest, succumbing to sleep.

"You aren't wrong," Issei whispered to himself, his words responding to Rossweisse. With her clinging to him, he succumbed to slumber, finding solace in her presence.

[Relationship Change]

[Rossweisse]

[From Friend to Lover]

X

The sunlit morning found Rossweisse stirring awake, her head throbbing with the aftermath of a heavy hangover. Disoriented, she clutched her head, memories of the previous night flooding back. She recalled the moments of intoxication: from emptying the bottle at Issei's urging to proudly claiming him as her boyfriend, defending him from advances, and even sealing it with a kiss. Embarrassment painted her face crimson as she tried to disentangle herself from Issei's grasp, only to find his arms wrapped around her, holding her in place.

Issei slowly roused from his sleep, sensing the tension in the air. He noticed Rossweisse's gaze locked onto him, her expression a mixture of fear and hope. His lips curled into a mischievous smirk, teasing her with unspoken thoughts.

"What's with that smirk?!" Rossweisse blurted out, her embarrassment evident in her voice.

"Oh, nothing, nothing at all, Rose," Issei replied, his voice playful, igniting another wave of embarrassment in Rossweisse. She resorted to her usual tactic, lightly pounding on Issei's chest to distract herself.

"How much do you remember from last night?" she asked desperately, trying to divert the conversation.

"Didn't touch a drop of alcohol, remember? I can still recall that distinct aroma of your boozy breath right up in my face," Issei remarked with a sly grin, alluding to their shared kiss. Rossweisse started sweating profusely, attempting to change the topic.

"What else happened last night? Besides involving myself?" she asked, avoiding Issei's eyes.

"Well, I met these three women," Issei replied, confusion clouding his tone.

"Three women?" Rossweisse questioned, a hint of jealousy colouring her voice.

"Yeah, they had yellow skin and horns on their heads," he explained, piquing her interest.

Rossweisse's eyes widened in surprise. "You met the Norns?!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with astonishment.

"Norns? As in the prophets of the Norse? I never knew," Issei replied, wincing as Rossweisse's excitement reached a crescendo.

"Yes! And they haven't been seen in almost 300 years! What did they say to you?" she inquired urgently, her tone serious.

"They spouted some nonsense about fate and destiny, I don't know," Issei replied dismissively, unimpressed by the encounter.

"Issei, it is imperative that we treat their words with utmost gravity. After all, they were the ones who foresaw the cataclysmic Great War and the impending demise of the Biblical God," Rossweisse explained solemnly, emphasising the gravity of the situation.

"Whatever, I don't believe in fate or destiny," Issei retorted, his scepticism evident.

Suddenly, a pillow smacked into Issei's face, thrown by Rossweisse, her anger evident. He retaliated, tossing the pillow back at her. Their playful pillow fight commenced, their earlier conversation forgotten, replaced by laughter and the moment's joy.

X

After spending a while together, Rossweisse and Issei descended to the castle entrance, clad in their usual attire: a suit for Rossweisse and a hoodie and sweatpants for Issei. The moment he had arrived for Issei to bid farewell to Asgard and return to Kuoh. However, a sense of reluctance hung over him. He felt more at ease with Rossweisse and Astrid than with the devils at Kuoh Academy, except for Ravel. Fumbling with his Pocket Dimension, Issei retrieved a few books and pushed them towards Rossweisse.

Issei's words carried a gentle urgency, "Give these to Astrid; they'll help her understand her Sacred Gear."

Rossweisse accepted the books, her brows furrowing slightly as she examined the content. "I do believe she'll find your gesture quite thoughtful, but these books seem rather advanced for someone of her age," she responded, her concern evident.

Issei countered with a playful smirk, "Well since she's your daughter, I know she'll grasp things quickly."

A blush tinted Rossweisse's cheeks at his compliment and the mention of her connection to Astrid. "Since she's your daughter, she's bound to become very powerful," she replied, trying to regain her composure.

Issei chuckled at her response. "It seems our kids are destined for greatness," he remarked, oblivious to the storm of thoughts brewing in Rossweisse's mind.

Internally disconcerted by the idea of "kids" and its implications, Rossweisse composed herself when Issei asked, "When do you think you'll be back in Kuoh?"

"I'm not sure, hopefully not for long," she replied, trying to steady her voice.

In a surprising move, Issei hugged Rossweisse, catching her off guard. Stiffening in response, she felt his warmth surround her.

"I guess this is goodbye for now. Stay safe. And don't keep me waiting, Rose," Issei whispered in her ear, his words sending her heart racing.

[Ability Used: Rift]

Feeling her pulse quicken, Issei chuckled softly, kissing her forehead before releasing her. Stepping back, he faced her, opening a rift behind him. Before he stepped through, he made two finger guns and winked playfully at Rossweisse. With that, he left Asgard, leaving Rossweisse dumbfounded, still stiff with shock and embarrassment after his unexpected departure.

In the heart of the Underworld, Issei took the initiative and sought Azazel's assistance, explicitly requesting a visit to Kokabiel in Cocytus. Intrigued but cautious, Azazel inquired about Issei's intentions, sensing an underlying urgency in his demeanour.

"Hey, Issei, just a friendly heads-up - remember, we're in the Underworld, the place you got exiled from. So whatever grand scheme you've got cooking, better make it snappy before anyone catches on to your little visit," Azazel advised, a sly grin playing on his lips.

Meanwhile, Issei's gaze remained fixed on Kokabiel, encased in the frozen Cocytus. He extended his hand, channelling his power into the ice, reinforcing the shield around the imprisoned figure. Azazel, initially concerned, observed Issei's actions, realising the purpose behind his strengthening of the seal.

"He won't escape even if the system helps him," Issei stated confidently, determination etched on his face.

Curiosity piqued, Azazel probed further, "Who else do you think you'll need to seal away, huh? Riser? Vali? Cao Cao? Sairaorg?" He casually listed the names of Issei's past adversaries, acknowledging the potential threats lurking in the shadows. Azazel hinted that these foes, much like Loki, might utilise the system to challenge Issei once more.

Issei contemplated the question, weighing his options carefully. "Not sure; two of the four people on that list are protected by the Devil Race; if I, the pariah of the Underworld, hurt a hair on them, it will make all the Devils knock on my door. The other 2 are the bigger problem. Right now, I can only account for Riser; I'll ask Ravel to keep an eye on him and report to me if something weird starts happening to him," he explained, outlining his strategic approach.
