A New Low

[We open our story set in the past in a meadow of flowers with a lonely little cottage in the background. In the foreground, a young Bloom and Selina are sitting on the grass as a woman wearing a pink shirt dress with virago/gigot sleeves and a red jewel on its collar is shown displaying a bit of magic in front of the two]

[The woman is shown taking a single rose and then duplicating it into a bundle of roses, handing it to Bloom who smiles up at her]

[A snake is then shown slithering among the grass, approaching the girls. Selina is the first to notice this and turns around sharply. She sticks her hand out and the snake suddenly stops in its tracks, turning its head up. Bloom and the woman are surprised by this, and so is Selina as she lowers her hand and the snake lowers its head in response]

[The mysterious fairy goes up to Selina and bends down as the snake slowly approaches the brunette and then presses its head against her hand. Bloom crawls up to Selina and smiles brightly at her, to which the brunette gives a smile back at the redhead. The violet-haired fairy puts a hand to her chin before giving a little smile of her own, with an inquisitive look on her face]

[The peace is suddenly disturbed as the woman catches a chill in the air, from behind her, the silhouettes of four figures come to life. She quickly tries to shield the girls, much to their surprise, but without warning, the Fairy Hunters surround them and try to go after the children]

[Bloom and Selina hold onto each other in fear as Ogron begins to make a black sphere of magic to absorb whatever power can be found in them. The scene then cuts between a variety of shots; the woman fending off the wizards with her scepter with an arrow tip, now donning a proper fairy form with an outfit of dark purple, resembling a cross between a dress and a suit of armor, creating illusions of herself to trick the wizards, Bloom sending off a flame that knocks her back, causing the ground to catch fire, Selina casting a snake towards Duman before Ogron steps in to deflect it right back at her, Gantlos stomping on the ground to trap the girls in a crack, Anagan trying to trip the fairy up with his superspeed before being tripped up himself by her magic before a ball of fire is shown about to attack the POV]

?: …oom? …Bloom? Bloom?

Bloom: Huh?

[Bloom blinks, the shot panning out to reveal her sitting in Headmistress Faragonda's office as a plate of tea and biscuits has been laid out on the desk]

Bloom: Oh…sorry, guess I kinda zoned out there for a moment.

Faragonda: So it appears, have you been feeling alright lately?

Bloom: Truth be told…not really. I've been having these strange visions about this girl, I don't know who she is, or why I'm getting these images.

Faragonda: Well, the last time this happened was because you were gaining back the memories of your past from Domino.

Bloom: Oh yeah, when Daphne came to me in my dreams! But, that was because I found out that I had the Dragon Flame…what could be the reason for these visions…?

Faragonda: Perhaps another element of your past has finally resurfaced. Sometimes, memories we repressed long ago can come back to haunt us when we least expect it.

Bloom: I suppose you're right, just like the one I had recently…

[Faragona sets her tea on the coaster before turning back to Bloom]

Faragonda: What did you see?

Bloom: Well, I was younger…I was sitting next to this girl with brown hair…and we were watching this…woman…she had a pink dress and-

Faragonda: Hold on, did you say a pink dress?

Bloom: Yeeeeeeees? Why do you ask?

Faragonda: It's just that something…stuck out to me…what did she look like?

Bloom: Um…trying to think…she had…violet hair…and an ice blue scepter…Miss Faragonda?

[Faragonda appears to be lost in thought as her fingers are put to her chin]

Faragonda: That description sounds…familiar…but I'm having a bit of difficulty processing it…

Bloom: Um…did you know this woman?

Faragonda: I believe she was…um, we'll circle back to that…what else did you see in your vision?

Bloom: It's a little bit foggy, but I thought I saw the Fairy Hunters…but, how? I don't ever recall seeing them when I was a kid…or maybe I did and just forgot about it…then again, that sounds like a pretty big thing to remember…

[Bloom notices that Faragonda has gone awfully silent as she looks up to see her old headmistress staring out the window]

Bloom: Miss Faragonda?

Faragonda: [sighs] I had a feeling this day would come…

Bloom: What do you mean by that? Do you know something about my past?

Faragonda: …Truth be told, this is no fault of your own, because not even I could have foreseen this.

Bloom: What are you talking about, who was this fairy?

Faragonda: Well…her name was Eldora, the Fairy of Aegis. Long ago before you girls came to Alfea, she hailed from the realm of Perenia, the lunar planet opposite Solaria. She studied as a fairy godmother, much like myself before I became headmistress of Alfea.

Bloom: Oh…so, she's the one in my vision, but then how did she get to Earth?

Faragonda: For a long time, Eldora had always wanted to explore the Magical Universe, seeing the different realms and what they had to offer, and eventually, she decided to settle on Earth. It was a shock to the faculty, I'll say that much.

Bloom: So…hold on, if she came to Earth, wouldn't the Wizards have noticed her? Wait a minute…wouldn't they have noticed me since I had magic, well, I didn't know I had magic, but…

[Bloom, having gotten up from her seat, slumps back down with a look of pure confusion]

Bloom: Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent…

Faragonda: It's alright, my dear. If there's one thing I remember about Eldora, it's that she was very good in terms of combat. Especially when it came to that scepter of hers.

Bloom: Well…I suppose that answers that question…but how come I don't remember her? Or remember the Wizards? Or that girl?

[It is at that moment that Faragonda's expression turns solemn, finding it hard to even look at Bloom directly]

Bloom: Miss Faragonda?

Faragonda: Bloom, I…I don't know how to explain this without upsetting you…

Bloom: But what is it? Why can't I remember these things? Why are they coming back to me all of a sudden? What did Eldora do?!

Faragonda: Bloom! Please…settle down…

Bloom: Sorry…I didn't mean to shout…

[Bloom sits back down in her chair as Faragonda sits back in hers, a look of dread spread across her face. She holds onto her former student's hand to provide any means of comfort]

Faragonda: I don't blame you for it…you see…Eldora…she had the ability to…

[Whatever Faragonda revealed to Bloom is left for interpretation as the redhead is shown leaving the headmistress' office with her head hanging down, passing by Griselda who takes notice of this]

Griselda: Oh, Miss Bloom, how are…you…?

[Griselda doesn't get a response as Bloom continues down the hallway without another word]

Griselda: I say, what's gotten to her?

[Faragonda steps out of the office as if on cue]

Faragonda: I'm afraid it's more to do with Bloom's past, and it's not under pleasant circumstances…

Griselda: Oh…

[The two women look towards the hallway as Bloom has disappeared]

[Cue a remastered version of the song "Wings" from the 4Kids dub]

Turned around, upside down

Two suns in the east

[Bloom is shown walking through the city, still in a depressed mood as she just barely misses the Toon Patrol weasels eyeing her up. Hokey and Ding-a-Ling are then shown passing her as the two wolves raise a brow each at the redhead]

Nothin' like it was before

Flying's like runnin' with the sky beneath your feet

[Bloom passes by Fiona and Rotor going in the opposite direction of a crosswalk as she looks to the sky to see several arwings flying above]

When I went to ride the wind (ride the wind)

[Bloom looks down at herself and then sighs]

It slipped away so fast

[Bloom is shown reaching her flat as she unlocks the door to Kiko raising his arms out to welcome his master, only to be met with a gloomy Fairy of the Dragon Flame]

I tumbled hard, went into a fall

[Bloom plops herself onto the couch and holds onto a pillow for comfort. Kiko cautiously goes up to her, seeing the sorrow in her eyes]

Now I need to know why I've got wings at all

[Kiko climbs up the couch and lays next to Bloom, as she looks down at him appreciatively, but still retains a solemn expression as the camera pans out]

I need to know why I've got wings at all - at all

Oooooooh…

[Cut to black]

[Epilogue]

[We are shown Faragonda's office as she sits at her desk, looking over a set of papers before giving a sigh. She reaches over for a device and clicks the button, she then patiently waits for an answer as she puts her hands to her chin]

[Bing…bing…bing…bi-]

Faragonda: Hello, old friend…it's been a while…you have some unfinished business that needs attendence…

[Cut to black]
