"Morning mom!" Kyori exclaimed, sitting at the table slightly out of breath after racing both Sai and Shin down to breakfast. Needless to say, she had lost to Sai, but won a round of laughter after tripping Shin halfway down the steps.
"Good morning, sweetie." Hizume hummed, setting down a floral creel of blueberry muffins.
"Good morning papa!" Kyori smiled at her father while picking out a few muffins and placing them onto the bare porcelain of each plate before kissing her father's cheek.
The man huffed out an incomprehensible greeting that had her brows furrowing as she slipped into her seat between Shin and Sai.
"What's the matter with him?" she asked no one in particular but faced her mother.
The sweet woman waved dismissively with a forced smile on her face as she spoke softly. "I wouldn't be concerned about his attitude, dear." Her mother said all too sweetly.
The Shimura siblings paused at the tone of her voice. Although it may have sounded sweet everyone had known, especially Shin and Kyori, that it was anything but. Hizume was pissed and when her thin brows furrowed, it became more apparent at who was supposed to be facing her wrath. Danzo.
"He's just being an ass."
Sai eyes widened at the comment and while Shin held back his snickering, Kyori shot him a disapproving look. Then the children shifted their varying gazes onto their sneering father.
"I'm not being an ass, I'm being rational." He calmly bit out.
"Rational? Are you being serious right now, Danzo?!" the woman's face scrunched up in offense that had the Shimura siblings going scatter-brained with all the scenarios to explain why.
Kyori suspected her father must have crossed the line. Well, he could be a downright pain in the ass, terribly hard to tolerate most of the time so she understood that there has to be a reason behind her mother's sickening glare.
"If you don't understand the decision I made as a father, then I am thoroughly surprised we've been together for so long, Hizume." The man shot back, emulating his wife's snubbing tone.
The children gasped, almost dropping their utensils in shock. Turning their eyes on a gaping Hizume, they watched as she lowered her head and bit her tongue.
"Then we've wasted eleven years, but explain to your daughter that she's not allowed to be a normal teenager!" she yelled and then all eyes fell on the burgundy haired teen.
Kyori's chocolate brown eyes practically drowned in concern as they ping-ponged between her glaring parents. It pained her to see them fight or to see her mother crying like she was now… and to be the cause had her heart crumbling.
So much pain, betrayal and even bits of rancor rolled off her mother alone, which combatted against her father's outrage and humility. The man was much too cold to show anything more despite Hizume being the love of his life.
"And after all it took to get her back on track? H-how dare you?!"
Kyori remained silent and the sound of sobbing was all that was left to be heard before Hizume told her younger brothers to eat in the living room for much needed privacy.
Once they were gone and situated, the burgundy haired teen asked, "Papa, what's going on?" albeit she was uncertain about wanting to know.
Danzo glared back at his wife. Turning to his daughter, he let out a dry cough that added to the tension in the room.
"Kyori, I've decided to make changes to your socializing privileges." He spoke with finality.
"Um… okay, but you've done that already." Kyori pointed out, not understanding the anger her parents held for one another at the moment. Perplexed, she tapped at her chin. "I'm not allowed to be on social media, and speak to certain persons," She reiterated few of the many rules her father constructed.
"Well he's adding to it, tell her exactly what you've told me." Hizume and Kyori brought their eyes onto the veteran, the younger scoffing as he remained silent which left her mother to speak. "Your father thinks that it's in your best interest to stop seeing Shisui-kun."
"But why? We're not dating."
The burgundy haired teen frowned, her brows furrowing in deep thought as to what brought on this idea on all of a sudden. How? She couldn't understand how did her friendship with Shisui have much of an impact on what she had going on. Why? Well, she knew he didn't like the boy upon meeting him weeks ago, but he never opposed of her befriending the boy. Unless…
"Daughter, I can't believe you let that filth enter my home." Danzo gave her a tasteless look with eyes full of shame as he shook his head at her. "I thought you knew better than to betray my trust in you."
Well fuck, he knew.
"It's quite humorous, though. Do you know why?" Danzo asked her after simpering, but like the man he was, or rather the father he was, he hadn't allowed her to consider his question at all. The man tsked before continuing, "Because I truly believed you'd never stoop so low."
Kyori scoffed at that. No matter how dignified he sounded to himself, everything he said was absolutely not true. Being friends with Shisui wasn't even remotely as horrible as the things she has done before. She would admit that she has stooped low before, very low if she could recall each instant and yet the immense shame that he tried to douse her with felt unnecessarily blown out of proportion, equating to-
"Bullshit," She muttered dubiously and if looks could kill, both of her parents would be speaking during her eulogy.
More than appalled, Danzo ruffled in his seat only to stare incredulously at his daughter, who scowled back at him. "Excuse me?! I dare you to repeat that again Shimura Kyori."
"I meant: this, as in your excuse, is bullshit."
"Young lady-"Snapping out of her stupor, Hizume gasped only for her husband to beat her to the punch.
"You may use that abominable language while you're entertaining thatdamnUchiha at his place or in his bed, but not in my house." Her father snapped, earning a scoff from his daughter and yet another gasp from his wife.
"Danzo?!" the lady of the house shrieked before turning her eyes onto her unmoving child.
'Did he just… did he really say that to me…?' was all that went through the girl's head as she stared absently at her father.
She couldn't believe he could say that about her, insinuate and imply that about her. Kyori's done a lot of things to be ashamed of, and as her parents Hizume and Danzo had been rightfully mortified and hurt by her choices. But to go as far as accusing her and chastising her for something that was, for one, not true or none of their business was devastating.
She had enough.
"…Kyori?" Hizume chirped with unease as the teen stared back at her father through misty umber orbs. "Don't take what he said seriously, I'm sure that he's just up-"the woman's words died on her lips at the soft, dull titters coming from her daughter.
"I can't believe you," she somberly hummed more to herself while shaking her head at her father. More tears gathered and wallowed before she allowed them to fall. "I keep trying to be better a-and it's not enough. I'll never be enough." Kyori nodded her head absently before turning her eyes on Danzo's lone eye. "You'll always be ashamed of me, won't you?"
"Kyori… we can talk this out later, okay?" Danzo apprehensively proposed as his dark beady eyes scrutinized the many emotions pooling in Kyori's eyes before they were curtained by a numbing anger. "Sweetheart-"
"Don't!" the girl bit out coldly, willing her tears away until she was swiping at the last of them. "We've never touched, but how could you ever understand that? Oh, right you don't!" Kyori balled her fist tightly, the pain from her nails ebbing cresses were enough to stop herself from sniveling.
"Kyori, listen to me," Danzo started gently, seeing his error when he registered the hurt and dejection in her stare before she proceeded to act out. "It was a mistake, a mere assumption. I just don't want to see you get hurt." He admitted, however, his daughter vehemently shook her head, not wanting to hear what he had to say. "You know that-"
"Save it, cause you meant it!" She interjected hurtfully. "If it's going to be like this then why do I even bother?" Kyori croaked out with a snivel, her woodsy eyes narrowing into thin, defiant slits as she brought them upon her father.
After witnessing the damage being done, Hizume had turned her eyes on her daughter, silently pleading for the girl to stop speaking out of anger. The girl bit her tongue and complied; she did not want to say anything more if he wasn't going to listen.
Hizume reached over and gently placed her hand onto her daughter's tensed shoulder. The mother rubbed soft circles as if it would ease her eldest child into a better mood, she had hoped so.
"I want you to go to school and come home in better spirits so we can talk about it, okay?" she softly instructed.
"There's nothing to talk about." Kyori shut her eyes, letting out a shaky breath before shoving her breakfast away. "I'm sorry."
Hizume practically blanched as her daughter shrugged off the gentle touch as though it scorched her and her tears continued to fall.
"Whoa…what's going on?" Shin asked as he stumbled into the kitchen with Sai right behind him, feeling the tension as their big sister removed herself from the table. "Kyori where are you going? You haven't eaten anything." He frowned.
"Out," she mustered out and lowered her glossed eyes in hopes that they wouldn't spring more questions at her. Even if they were coming from a good place, she couldn't take more of anything.
"Were you… crying?" Sai asked and she mentally cursed herself for thinking the boy would know by now what was appropriate while socializing.
"No."
"But your face is wet."
"I'll see you later."
The burgundy haired girl forced herself to smile when she walked out of their house but it became much easier when she faced with irony itself. Kinoto stood near an all-black pickup truck wearing a fancy suit with his holster missing.
"Kinoto… what the hell?" Kyori raised a fine brow at the gruff man.
"I've been demoted, so that means no more fancy rides until further notice." He told her with a careless shrug before taking her bag and helping her into his truck.
She knew it was because of her and even if he didn't say so… it still hurts to know.
Lowering her gaze into her lap, Kyori began to speak lowly. "I just wanted to get away. I was just overwhelmed and my actions cost you a lot. I'm sorry…" she trailed off, thumbing the large seatbelt strap before she peered at her guard.
"It's fine, I've been down this road before. Your old man needs me too much." Kinoto nudged her softly, letting out low, amused snickers. "Besides, I don't blame you." He added once he began to drive down the familiar route to Hashirama High.
"By the way, thanks for telling my dad about Shisui being an Uchiha and apparently I'm sleeping with him." Kyori's frown slowly warped into a small hurtful grin. "He definitely nicked me where it hurts."
Kinoto frowned at the girl while loosening his foot on the accelerator, then he spoke, "I only told him you ran off with a boy. No further details included."
Kinoto never lied, and if he had told her father such detail, he surely wouldn't have been demoted. Kyori never had to question him or his line of judgement, so she wouldn't start now. But who else would have known who she was out with and had access to her father? Who else would spin a narrative like this to work up her father? They turned to each other, baring the same ounce of realization.
"Yamanaka?" Kinoto openly considered.
"Damn him." She cursed with a stank glare on her delicate face. Kinoto grumbled in agreement as he drove her straight to school.
Immediately when she entered the school, Kyori was fixed on finding the redhead and getting down to the grit and nit. After he had promised to make things right, she found herself let down once again at the thought of him telling her father being his first line of action. Kyori deeply scowled when she found him away from the crowd and practically used Kinoto's bulk to part the sea of people, making way for herself.
If they were ever going to fix whatever it was between them, then he needed to own up to what he's done like she was ready to do. But that was one of their many problem, no one wanted to be accountable but today he had no choice in the matter.
The burgundy haired Shimura wasn't the only one that was picking someone out of the crowd.
"Looking for your significant other?" Itachi teased, smiling and laughing with Izumi at the eldest's reaction to the words.
Shisui pouted cutely only to grumble out, "No." but as they continued to speculate, he lets out a sigh before shrugging. "Okay, maybe?"
"Oh Shishi, smitten looks good on you." Izumi tittered as he resumed with observing the hallway.
Once Shisui spotted the girl he immediately grew flustered, but it lost its tinge once he saw the rough scowl on her lips, paired up with her harden gaze. Without a thought he excused himself and followed after Kyori.
Fu was finally aware of the girl glaring daggers at him when she callously slammed his locker shut, startling a bunch of students into leaving the area.
"What the in fuck is wrong with you?"
The Yamanaka frowned.
"Is that a rhetorical question?" Raising his brows, he faced her cold gaze before dryly snorting. "Okay, no small talk. What do I owe the pleasure?"
Not in the mood for his games, the burgundette heavily huffed but her pensive, baleful glower showed no relent. "Why did you lie to my dad?"
"I'm hardly a liar," Fu said with as much confidence as the next top model.
"Ever since I met you, that's all that you've been proven to be, so answer the damn question!" Kyori snapped as his larger body towered over hers, emphasizing that she was powerless. "You lied to his face, didn't you?"
"So what if I did? You've done worse." He bitterly muttered.
"Don't go there with me." Kyori rolled her eyes, frowning as she searched his eyes briefly. "Why are you doing this when you said you'd make things right?"
While ignoring the scowl on the girl's face, he lowered himself until his lips ghosted over the shell of her ear. Any other time, Kyori would've been flushing profusely and even proclaim she had gone braindead. But now, she felt sick to her stomach.
Then he whispered, "Please, the entire school knows your specialty. You would have fucked him anyways."
This.
This was what she had meant when she talked to Inoichi. Fu always managed to make her feel exaggerated ups and down, making wonder where this all was coming from? What the hell was the red head thinking? She had already known by now Fu's actions were fueled by anger, pain and obviously jealousy.
Kyori supposed that she would feel the same, if not worse, he had left her to fend for herself in an unfamiliar state all alone. After a long night fueled on sweet passion and hopeful promises… to leave without a trace would have ruined her. But this whole situation was tiring. One minute he's breaking her down and the next he's giving her something to hold onto.
Biting her tongue for the second time that morning, Kyori bristled lightly while trying to work herself up to…come to an agreement? To apologize? He didn't deserve one, she felt. Not when he was the one bent on hurting her. Maybe he needed closure? Only then would she hope for a shift in the shell of their relationship.
"I don't know what you want from me anymore. I've hurt you and I regret most of the things I put you through." Kyori forced herself to look him in the eye, glaring with eyes full of hurt. "If I meant anything to you, don't tell me you'll make things right and fucking start off with lying, and disrespecting me."
"Kinoto what's going on?" the Uchiha's concerned voice had snatched their attention away from each other for a second and Kyori fought the urge to wince when he spoke her name.
The Yamanaka shot her a heinous glare, his eyes clearly conveying disdain for the Uchiha's concern. He was just about ready to walk off until Shisui pulled her aside, glancing at him every now and then.
"Are you alright?" the raven-haired teen whispered, taking in her dull frown. She looked so exhausted and hurt that Shisui couldn't help but cup her cheeks when she didn't respond or face him. "Kyori."
The Shimura had no choice but to stare into prodding dark eyes until she busied herself with staring at Fu. The red headed Yamanaka was seething and in return she rolled her eyes. He was such a fucking hypocritical joke.
Kyori removed herself from the Uchiha's touch, huffing. "I'm fine."
Shisui frowned softly while gazing at her watery brown eyes with deep uncertainty. "Are you sure?" His frown grew when Kyori gave him a weak lopsided smile and nodded, hoping that he'd stop worrying.
Despite how soft and fragile she looked, she could carry her own. Kyori didn't need Shisui getting into the mess she and Fu made; It would only get messier.
"Yeah, I think I'm done here," the girl blew out lowly.
Then Shisui surprised them both when he brought his arm around her shoulder. Kyori brought her eyes onto the floor, absently familiarizing herself with Shisui's touch as he pulled her closer. If this was any other day, she'd have enough sense to shove him away from her and tease him, but she knew he was concerned about her. And strangely enough, his hold reminded her of warmth; it was nice, comforting, sweet and Fu hated it.
"Get your hands off of her," Fu gritted out before grabbing the Shimura by the wrist tightly, attempting to remove her with sheer force. Kyori winced in return as she snatched her hand out of his hold.
His hazel eyes grew as large as his astonishment when Kinoto jumped into action, pressing his elbow into his throat. Shisui gently took her hand in his, scanning her already bruising wrist as her eyes began to pool with tears.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" the man grumbled, adding a bit more pressure when Fu failed to respond or look at him properly. "If she didn't care about you, I'd fucking kill you."
Seeing as he wouldn't get an answer, Kyori called him off and being as he was, Kinoto shoved the boy into the locker one more time.
"Why?" Kyori hiccupped, swallowing her sobs as she sternly held the Yamanaka's gaze. "How could you hurt me?"
The auburn haired teen went still. He locked eyes with the burgundy haired girl and stared in shock at the explicit fear and disgust she held in them. Never had she looked at him in such a way, not even when they engaged in more heated arguments. Kyori was not known to express disdain so openly, bitterness? Maybe. Annoyance? One hundred percent, but not this and especially, not towards him. She was struggling to get over him verbally hurting her and now, he done it physically.
Physically.
The word just seemed to boil in the back of her mind, making her all the more upset. Fu's never touched her with the intent to harm and it had hurt so bad that she felt sick just thinking about it; she even felt her stomach churn while he silently gaped at her.
"Kyori, you don't understand-" The burgundy haired Shimura flinched at his tone, making the Yamanaka shut his mouth as he watched her lean into Shisui.
"Can we just go?" Kyori looked away from the boy she loved and boldly murmured to the Uchiha, "He's dead to me."
The raven haired teen frowned sympathetically. "You'll be fine, just relax Kyori." He murmured softly into her doubtful ears. "I promise."
He gave her a soft smile, doing his best to ignore Fu's glare. Right now, he did not want to exacerbate their fight. Especially, when all she wanted was for it to be over. Shisui then guided her away with Kinoto one step behind the two, glaring menacingly the Yamanaka.
All Fu had wanted was for her to see that he was trying to fix things, mold them back to what they should be. She shouldn't be there, tucked into the Uchiha's hold and if it were anything like back then, she'd known not to give it a thought.
But the damage was done, and there was no fresh start or another chance given to save whatever the hell was left.
"Eat," Kinoto urged and Kyori softly mustered a frown, glaring at the fruit cup and deli ham sandwich before shoving it away.
But he placed it right under her nose and the smell almost made her gag.
"I can't fucking eat it okay!" Kyori snapped, folding her arms over her chest and Kinoto surrendered at the certainty in her rough tone. If he forced her to eat anything else on the damn tray, she swore she would violently flounder until she foamed out the mouth.
"Fine don't mind if I do then," he mumbled almost uncomfortably and begun to pluck out his favorite fruits, avoiding the honey dew and cantaloupe all together.
If Kyori wasn't mulling over her thoughts on the morning, she would've definitely snorted at the sight or even added some smug retort to keep the mood flowing. She was just waiting for the day to be over and dreading to see her father once it had.
"You think way too much." Kyori turned, raising a brow at the three Uchiha's as they settled at her table.
"Guess so… what are you guys doing here?" she asked and was surprised that she had apparently agreed to eat lunch with them in second period.
How could she forget that? Kyori was practically sandwiched between the Uchiha and Kinoto all day now… Kyori almost smiled as they continued to chat, teasing Itachi for some unknown reason. Her heart warmed at the thought of them, making an effort to protect her. Sometimes it felt like Kinoto, the Hedge, her family (sans Danzo) and Shisui was all she needed to go on about her day.
"So, Kyori-chan, are you excited for Shinobi day?" Izumi asked, brining those large dark eyes onto her own with unmatched interest.
"Kinda… my mom wants me to dress up this year," she then added on while breaking eye contact, "I even thought of competing for Miss Bijin."
"We are sure you will undoubtedly make a great Miss Bijin, isn't that right Shisui?" Itachi nudged his cousin under the table, biting his cheek to stop himself from smirking at the pink painting the older boy's ears and cheeks.
"Absolutely," Shisui agreed while withholding a flirty comment.
He figured she wouldn't be in the mood for him being silly or hitting on her. But he would mean it, he always did despite her not knowing.
"Well that's great!" Izumi flashed a smile, wishing the uncomfortable silence would pass faster. "Are you going with anyone?" the brunette eyes widened with alarm as her brother eyed her incredulously.
Shisui face palmed himself and in the same instance, Itachi brought his fist up to his lips, wondering if he could just engulf it entirely. Even Kinoto was subjected to mashing his lips in the stale moment. Anything was better than watching the Shimura's bland eyes staring elsewhere before settling into her lap.
"I mean, It's totally fine to go solo, and enjoy the moment! Relationships these days, who needs them, right? … I'm so sorry." She finished lamely, cringing at herself.
"You don't have to apologize." Kyori shrugged, tracing the ends of her skirt.
Then she brought those sadden eyes on Shisui, and cleared her throat. An alarmed jolt rushed down his spine, forcing him to sit up straight as he attentively searched her gaze. She didn't look angry, not even bothered by Izumi's word gushing.
"I was going to ask later, but would you like to be my date?" she asked quietly, not wanting to hear how hoarse her voice had become.
"You planned on asking me to go with you…? As in a date, date?" Shisui raised a brow, and though he hadn't known it, his lips broke into a large, dazzling grin that betrayed his somberness. "I'd loved to!"
"Hear that 'Tachi? Shishi's got a date with the top contender for Miss Bijin~" Izumi winked. "Who would've thought, right?"
"Exactly. It was so suave to question if it's an actual date too." Itachi simpered quietly at the gapping, offended looking Shisui. "Where— or perhaps who do you get your foolishness from? Sasuke?"
Izumi and Itachi busted into melodic guffaws with the latter being much quieter as they made the eldest Uchiha flustered along with Kyori.
"Ha-ha, real funny." Shisui puffed out, wishing he could laugh too… if it weren't at his expense. "Don't mind them Kyori, I'm perfectly fine with going as friends." He smiled, nudging her shortly after.
"But do you want it to be… a date?" Kyori blinked, craning her head to the side as she took in the profuse tinge, working its way onto his cheeks.
The table grew quiet at her question and brought their attention to the unruly haired Uchiha that had yet to respond. Truth be told, he didn't know what to say about this. Just hours ago, Kyori declared that she was done with the Yamanaka and now she was willing to go on a date with him?!
It all seemed rushed, but she was planning to ask him anyways! So then… it wasn't like Shisui was her back up boy-toy for when Yamanaka fucked up. No. They are genuine friends who care about each other and if there was something more there, just waiting to happen, then he wouldn't feel right running from that.
Shisui winked at her and boldly wrapped his arm over her shoulder, the redness leaving his face as he worked up the nerve to tease her. "If it was up to me, we wouldn't be going on our first Cutie."
"Oh? It will be our last if you keep calling me that," She said a tad jokingly. Working up a small smile as he feigned heartbreak oh so dramatically, the Shimura rolled her eyes in response.
"The wild Kyori uses tsundere!"
"Critical Hit. It's super effective."
Izumi and Kinoto balked at the two Uchiha males, the former shaking her head in embarrassment as she looked at the burgundy haired girl, snorting. At least she was enjoying herself now.
"The opposing Shisui fainted!" Kyori added, tittering with Shisui and Itachi.
The weekend came soon enough and Kyori was glad to spend her Friday night out with her mom. She was also relieved that she wouldn't be seeing either Fu or her father. It had been especially hard to ignore both throughout the week and harder to find it in her to forgive. But her friends managed to make things worthwhile as she took time to figure things out.
"You know, you never explained why you left school to ditch with Shisui-kun?" Hizume fluffed her maroon spiraled curls, A definite sign that she had more to say.
"That's because I didn't want to get in trouble."
"Sweetie, I think we both know there's more going on than you're willing to say. For crying out loud! You snuck off without Kinoto's protection, and without our consent just to spend time with him."
Kyori shot a tactless glower at her mother, leisurely rolling her eyes at the wacky narration the woman created. "Just what are you trying to say?"
Hizume adorably shrugged, feigning innocence as they picked out fabrics to make her costume. "I just think you two would be good together, Kyori. He's great young man."
Kyori huffed strumming through the colors, wondering what color would complement the rest of her outfit.
"Well Shisui and I are friends. That's all," she emphasized, frowning at the presumptuous gleam in her mother's eyes. "Just friends, Mom so let's leave it at that."
But it was much too late to say such a thing. Kyori knew by the way her mother held a large grin on her lips and her eyes twinkled with more questions.
"You don't know that; he could be interested in being your boyfriend!" Hizume chuckled at her daughter's comically feigned sickness. "You are beautiful, and sharp, so any boy with good judgement would want to court you, sweetie."
"I highly doubt that." Kyori scoffed before nonchalantly adding, "Plus, he's not my type. Not even a little bit."
"Oh please, I've caught you ogling him before!" Hizume waved her hand as if she was dismissing the statement that fell from her daughter's lips. "You find him attractive."
The burgundy haired teen shrugged in response to that. For sure her raven-haired friend was far from ugly, the Uchiha's, in general, were gorgeous people. Shisui was not an exception. When she thought about it, he had a few components she definitely liked in a guy, like his height and facial structure, but mainly his eyes. There was just something compelling about them, but that didn't mean anything.
"Look, I'm sure that you'd like that but I'm sure he doesn't find me all that interesting."
"Well, what if he does?"
She internally blanched at the thought though and her mind recalled him flirting with her, staring at her… smiling and laughing with her, making her blink herself into oblivion just to ignore how it made her feel. Shisui had even called her a catch…If he had any interest in being with her, in all honestly, Kyori wouldn't know how to face his intense onyx eyes at all and she damn sure had no clue on what to say.
"Then that's his problem… I don't know." The teen blew out, growing tired of thinking about it.
"Oh sweetie, sounds like you are avoiding this entirely. However, it seems like he does hold deep feelings for you and you might share them. I could see you two being an item…" Hizume then continued with bouts and stories about her meeting Danzo, but Kyori wasn't hearing much of it.
Other than her mother seeing them as an item… she couldn't really see them together in a romantic sense, not even sexually. Sure, he had a chance to bewitch her with his pretty face. And sure, he was always flirting with her but he never gave her the impression that he was being serious. Or that he had wanted anything more with her. If what her mother spouted was true, then why hasn't Shisui said anything? He even questioned her asking him out in an instant and hesitated before agreeing.
It sounded like he wasn't into her… but he was very different from her typical pick.
How was she supposed to know when all she ever known were assholes? But then again, she's never considered seeing Shisui as anything more in first place because it was risky and she wouldn't know how to take it. They were just friends, and it was easier to be that. She didn't have to let him in and explain the way she worked like she would if they were lovers.
Kyori felt like she was painting abstract art when it came to describing her friendship with the Uchiha; everyone always saw the same thing, not seeing her intentions whatsoever. People just didn't understand… or maybe, they understood more than she had? Maybe it was easier for them to accept the fact-
'The idea,' Kyori threw in.
-that her and Shisui had potential. But she could admit solely to herself, while she fished through fabrics for hours in hopes of impressing him on Shinobi day, that she felt more than she should.
a/n: I hope to push out more updates… things have been very hectic for me but please feel free to follow, fave, flame or keep it in your history (mobile users). And i'm looking forward to writing an actual date for Kyori and Shisui...
