Kyori was getting tired of spending her late nights like this.
Awaking and having nothing to distract her from her thoughts. It was at these times where she felt most vulnerable, and needy in every sense of the word. And god, Kyori wanted nothing more than to have a specific someone's arms bound her, coaxing her lips into a fiery kiss, having those hands venturing all over while their hips slowly grounding into hers until she surrendered herself and –
Kyori turned on her side for the eight time that night, cursing herself as she clutched the silk of her pillow case. She just wanted to feel wanted and the lack of satisfaction she's endured for months was finally getting to her. Again. She shouldn't feel this lonely, this insatiable or this unloved. But there was no stopping it; she had no one to go to, even if she had options none were as preferable as the Uchiha down the hall.
It's not like she could tip-toe her way into Shisui's room and ask for him to please her either. For one, that would be highly embarrassing and pathetic. And two, Kyori didn't like the idea of throwing herself at someone that didn't even want her in the first place.
But a girl can always dream, and she has for weeks.
"Who the hell cares?" Kyori blurted. Shaking her head, she shoved the covers off her person, hopping out of bed with the help of the moon light.
A tired groan left her lips and as she unbuttoned her nightgown, she stumbled into the bathroom before fully stripping and submerging herself under the steaming stream. A gracious hum rolled off her lips as she scrubbed a night worth of sweat and murky thoughts from her body.
And yet, she couldn't escape the thought of him. The way he touched her had evoked an unforgettable heat that bubbled in her stomach, and every kiss relayed indisputable love… desire… passion as he made love to her. But sometimes Shisui would-
Kyori screwed her eyes shut and briskly scrubbed until her skin felt raw, hoping that would help. It didn't! Her mind was left defenseless by the likeness of him using his tongue to tease her, his touch to worship her, all while relaying ungodly things to her with those pretty lips of his. All the things he said and would do, only encouraged her to crack until she crumbled.
Unfortunately, she never got the chance to.
"I'm being so dramatic. It's really not that deep," She told herself in hopes of believing it one day.
It was to the point that she wished she could just stop feeling because he made her feel so deeply. With Shisui, she wanted things that she would never consider with Fu, ever, and it made her question herself a lot.
Kyori's brows furrowed, her eyes seemed to sharpened amongst the steam as she carefully removed herself from the shower. She brushed her teeth, moisturized her hair and wrapped herself tightly in a towel. There was no way she would be going back to sleep anytime soon.
The burgundette briefly jolted at the sound of a knock, gripping the towel tightly before she reluctantly swung the door open. To her utter surprise, it was the star of her dreams and it was safe to say she wasn't expecting him. Just like he wasn't expecting her as his wide eyes lingered on her in their dark glory.
He watched as the Shimura girl took a few steps back after she sucked in a breath and he didn't know what to really think. She blinked, frankly mesmerized as she compared her dreams to reality. Like she had suspected long before she had feelings for the Uchiha, a gorgeous face wasn't the only thing he possessed. Kyori's brown eyes skimmed his lean frame, following the intricate groves of his abs and stopping at his waist band. She did so with a blank expression but before she could look away, her attention was snatched by a faint red splotch at his hip, and then another on his neck. Her eyes narrowed at the plausible thought of him returning from being with someone else.
And it didn't sit right with her at all.
While Shisui might have become her everything in the span of three months, she wasn't his anything. But she had no right to feel this way or to question him when it was her fault. She was the one that never gave them a chance, just like she was the one who pushed Shisui away.
"What are you doing up this late?" Shisui asked, looking away as he found she was more attractive than usual in a wet state. He then leaned against the door frame, ultimately trapping her. He was currently pouting when all he received was silence. "Did you have a bad dream or something?"
Kyori's delicate features screwed up into a sneer. She definitely felt like she was having a nightmare every time her eyes landed on those hickies. Seeing tangible proof that he was moving on had made her heart drop into the depths of her belly. It irritated her too, but she had to tell herself that this was just another product of her choice… she just had to let this go, let him go. It was better that way.
Kyori shook her head at the Uchiha while collecting her things, then pushed her way past him muttering, "It's none of your business."
"Wait." Shisui reached for her elbow, making her pause.
Terribly stunned, Kyori looked over her shoulder and placed her eyes on his hand. Even his touch made the burgundette feel giddy. But she also felt wrong, like she hadn't deserved his concern.
Shisui frowned when she tugged her arm out of his hold after looking away. "Just because we're not as close as we were doesn't mean you can't talk to me."
"There's nothing to talk about." Kyori turned to fully face him while crossing her arms over her chest. "And I'm not going to waste my time trying anymore."
"Nothing to talk about?" The Uchiha repeated, puzzled by her sudden coldness. He watched as her face screwed up with anguish, her eyes held a blistering look as though she was revisiting their days spent apart since that night.
"That's what I said," the burgundette bit out, her hair dripping with product dribbling down her neck and onto the marbled floor.
Shisui snorted at the irony of it all. It was sort of baffling that she was so upset, considering she was the one to that was caught red handed. He couldn't help but to briefly chortle at the strange predicament he was in.
"You think this is funny?!"
"Kinda," he admitted with not much of a thought while dismissing her obvious anger towards him. "You're so cold… and angry. To think you said you wanted me yesterday is crazy," he blurted out the moment she turned away.
"God, get over yourself!" She suddenly barked, alarming him and possibly the others that were sleeping peacefully throughout the night. She couldn't believe that he would bring that up moments after sleeping with somebody else. Her thoughts muddled and her heart constantly rattled with anger and betrayal. She couldn't begin to imagine that this was the same Shisui that made her feel again. It couldn't be; he would never dismiss her feelings, never would make her cry, wouldn't let his gaze stray from her, nor would he ever give up on her and their friendship. But it's different now.
Realizing that she was growing angrier, Kyori exhaled slowly and granted herself a little more time to gather herself so that she could end this conversation properly. The same fudge brown that bubbled and burned his midnight stare earlier, dulled before she turned away completely. She was tired of fighting.
"You shot me down and now I'm walking away," She whispered. "Nothing crazy about that."
This time, he was the one to watch her walk away, and it was his turn to feel that kind of hurt.
If Izumi had any speculations about tension growing between her friend and brother then, they had only escalated now as her eyes darted between the two. Ever since her brother has returned, she noticed a shift in their relationship. They were hardly ever together, and when they were, there was noticeable tension. Another thing that stood out to her was that they never seemed to spend time alone with each other. Hell, they hardly ever spoke unless it was necessary. She knew something was up before but for the timespan of Kyori staying over at her place, she was sure that things had soured between them. Izumi was just hoping it had nothing to do with the whole Yamanaka fiasco.
That's what everyone at school was calling it.
The dough eyed Uchiha girl wondered what was really going on as she watched Kyori kneel at her side, gently patting down the damp soil after she sprinkled in new seeds. She then caught Shisui watching her friend intently with an inscrutable expression as he collected water from their fountain. And if Izumi was being quite honest, she was quite upset with both her brother and the burgundette. She was just tired of playing the waiting game, and hoping that they would finally work things out or at least tell her about the situation.
Kyori paused and brought her questioning brown eyes onto her friend. "What's up with you?"
"Not much, just feels like I should be asking you that." Izumi shrugged, lowering her gaze briefly. That left the burgundette to do the same.
"I can't say…"
"Can't or won't?" Izumi rolled her eyes, deciding to get the ball rolling. "Be honest. Don't say it's nothing, I know that you and that idiot aren't on good terms."
"How do you kn- "the brunette gave her flat out knowing look. It seems that Kyori disturbed somebody with her yelling after all. "Okay Izumi… so we're not." the Shimura sighed, grimacing when she mulled over what she to say.
"So what's going on?" the Uchiha girl pouted as she shifted all her attention onto her friend.
Kyori figured that the girl had been waiting long enough and it just wouldn't be right for her to keep her friend in the dark any longer. Izumi hadn't deserved to be fed lies in the first place, and while she disagreed with Shisui's choice in the matter, if she was being honest… Kyori felt ashamed for what she had done and once she told Izumi, the Shimura figured that after today she probably wouldn't have much of a friendship with any of the Uchihas.
"Shisui and I… we aren't together." Kyori pursed her lips in discomfort when the girl cracked an amused grin. "Seriously. We're not dating or anything like that."
"A load of bull! I bet he put you up to this, didn't he?" Izumi giggled, nudging the burgundette as if she was appreciating a running joke. But at the sight of Kyori's somber expression, her bright smile was traded in for a concerned gaze. "You're not joking." the brunette sighed. "He did something stupid?" she questioned softly, not aware that the girl next to her flinched in response.
"It was me." Kyori shook her head, frowning at the brunette she took hesitant glances at Shisui before continuing.
"Start from the beginning," the fair-skinned girl demanded, her gaze grew cautious as she caught Shisui staring from afar. "What the hell happened?" she whispered.
Kyori's followed her gaze, her umber eyes fell to her nails packed with damp soil and grit as she somewhat updated her friend thoroughly in a hushed tone. She couldn't help but feel just as dirty as her hands the moment she avoided certain details. And by the brunette's flat expression, Kyori knew it to be true. She definitely transgressed and it was nothing to be surprised over since it was always expected of her. Izumi had every reason to both disgusted and disappointed.
"I knew it," The Uchiha droned. Just by the look in her friend's eyes, she knew her speculations were true. Her brother definitely failed to up the ante.
"You knew…?" Kyori mulled openly, baffled by the lack of anger in her friend's tone.
"How could I not?!" annoyed at the situation along with how long it took to get to the truth, Izumi had to pause from placing her daisies into their plots. So she turned to her friend, seeing both conflict and relief in her fudge brown eyes. "I've seen how close you two have gotten while Shisui was away." Izumi pursed her lips, wondering if her involvement may have aided in Kyori and Shisui's split. Her intentions were well but clearly, she couldn't help prevent the fallout. Either way, she couldn't believe that the burgundette would be so easily tempted by that clown-haired, loser as she liked to call him. "I was just hoping nothing would come from it or that Shisui would do something to prevent it."
"Wait…" Kyori quirked a brow. "So you're not mad at me?"
"Oh no, I am." Izumi openly frowned. Her rich cocoa gaze lingered on the burgundette who couldn't even look at her. "I feel betrayed, actually. It's one thing to hurt my brother, but then you left me in the dark about it."
The burgundette's head snapped up, her eyes glistening with utter guilt as she locked gazes with the Uchiha. It's not like she could refute anything at this point. "I know, and I'm really sorry Izumi."
"I'm mad at you buuut," Izumi sung playfully as she shrugged. "I'm sure Shishi's already forgiven you, so there's really nothing you can do aside from talking with him."
Although she was thoroughly disappointed and frustrated with her friend, she knew not to get too involved. If there was even the slightest chance of them reconciling, Izumi would allow them to find their way back to each other naturally.
"I don't know…" Dubious java brown eyes lowered before staring obtrusively out onto the depths of the garden where Shisui remained. "He doesn't want to work it out, let alone talk. Not with me."
Izumi snorted at those words, "Look, he has a weird approach. He probably wants to give you space so that you can make you own decisions and get back to him or he's going to use this time to probably get even."
The brooding Shimura girl stared at the vast blue of the sky as she considered the girl's words. An inaudible scoff left her glossed lips at the thought of Shisui doing something so selfless. If anything, he's definitely done the latter. Shisui pushed her away and has even moved on so Izumi's optimism was wasted in her opinion. There was no number of words that would mend whatever it was that they once had; she's confessed and has apologized so many times, only for Shisui to reject or dismiss her entirely. All of which added onto her sadness. Kyori was incapable of fixing anything it seemed, and she just felt hopeless at this point.
"I wish the former were true," Kyori blew out. "But I think it's for the best that we don't see each other anymore."
"What? You're being ridiculous!" Izumi frowned at her friend's dry tittering as they resumed with their gardening.
"No, I'm not."
"But you are... You know he's crazy about you!"
"Izumi, it's over! Okay?!" Kyori lowered her tearful gaze. "He's literally seeing multiple girls because of me. And when we do talk it turns into another fight," the Shimura uttered evenly, ignoring the concaving sensation at the center of her chest. "I can't even cope with how I feel and I'm the one who — I cheated!"
The moment those last words were uttered, scalding and relentless tears singed her face as the weight of her words — reality itself — slightly chilled her bones. She betrayed his trust, and told him sweet nothings up until their fight. And once they were in a tough spot, she had done what she's always done. Got around. Hurting whoever got far too close in any way.
"Hey, calm down." Izumi spoke softly, noticing their talk was gaining unwanted attention as her eyes locked on her attentive brother before she brought them onto her guilt-ridden friend. "I understand t-"
"No, you don't! I shouldn't even be here!" Kyori hurtfully watched as Izumi recoiled from the thunder in her voice. The hurt was beginning to overwhelm her, conquering her vision as her troubles mercilessly rained down on her. "I-I'm so sorry!" the girl simpered as she shot up to her feet. "I need to go… I'm so sorry Izumi."
"Kyori-" Astonished chocolate eyes watched in silence as the burgundette scampered off, only for Shisui to trail right after her. Izumi hoped that her brother and Kyori would make things right at some point.
Shisui found himself in front of the door to the guest room, absolutely rooted in place as he wondered if he should try talking to the girl. She had been very adamant on stopping all forms of interaction with him. It was as though he was the one that was caught with another girl instead. It wasn't Kyori's business what he had done with other girls, had he been seeing a someone else.
Shisui knocked, but the burgundette failed to acknowledge it.
Truth was that he hadn't been in the mood to really be with anyone after her. Even though he would amuse other girls with a few slick lines and had even fewer steamy moments, he was not courting them. And he damn sure wasn't bedding them completely. He just couldn't go through with using and enjoying some poor girl while desiring Kyori… it was wrong and he just wasn't that kind of guy anymore. No, he was the guy that pursued whoever had caught his eye. That was her, it had been for a while. And this would be no different. With all that in mind, he finally mustered up the courage to barge into her room.
Kyori jumped in utter shock, fear even, as she wasn't expecting anyone to run after her. Especially not Shisui. Clutching onto her violently beating heart, she glowered as the residue of her tears ashen her cheeks. "What the fuck?!" Her voice boomed as her eyes followed his. She looked down to her suitcase that was packed to the brim with haste.
"Why are you packing?"
"Leave me alone!"
The Uchiha had expected that. After all, she had been unforgivably cold towards him since he drove her there. She had been at his place all weekend and things haven't changed for the better between them. Kyori's been keeping her distance, and very vigilant on having the briskest moments with him, there was no time to mend or rekindle the great friendship or understanding that they had for each other.
"Why the hell are you here? You know what, it doesn't matter!" She threw her hands up, definitely overwhelmed at this point since it seems that he came to confront her. "I'm leaving."
"Fine." Shisui sighed in defeat as he took in her guarded eyes along with her ceaseless scowl. She wouldn't be in the mood to talk to him. He understood that much. "Just let me take you home."
"Now why would I let you do that?" Kyori snorted drily, her fierce scowl drooping at the idiotic idea. He must've lost his mind or he never had one to begin with. "So you can chastise me for the entirety of the ride? Fuck. No."
"I won't push you," the wild haired Uchiha promised, gingerly placing his hand onto her shoulder only for the girl to flinch. He backed away from the door frame with downtrodden eyes at the effect he had on her as of late. "I just want to make sure you get home safely. I swear I'm not trying to hurt you."
"I'm not buying that." Kyori was quick to bring her arms up, caging her torso in them. She didn't believe him. She couldn't after the way he treated her, not to mention after seeing those hickies. She truly felt like he didn't care about her… not anymore.
"And why would I hurt you?"
"After what I've done?" she tittered drily. "Why wouldn't you?"
Shisui scowled at that. "I'm not like Yamanaka, I don't get a rise out of hurting you."
"Well you have a way of trying to make me feel like a monster!" she screamed as fresh tears strolled down her face, freely. "Why would you bring me around your family? Why did you bring me here if you didn't want to remind me of what I've lost?"
"I would never do that to you!" Taken aback, Shisui gaped at her before shaking his head. He didn't understand her thought process. He guess that was what she was used to when she was dating guys similar, if not worse than Fu. But like he said, he was not the same. It brought him no sense of joy, nor did it bring him anything like validity or justice to see her break down like this. And for her to weave up thoughts within her mind that he was actively trying to hurt her was enough to upset him all over again. "Kyori, we had a good thing. I thought our feelings for each other were mutual, that you actually wanted to be with me. Why would I hurt you like that?"
"To make me regret that night with Fu," she reasoned as her fist trembled, furiously shaking the bags in her hold. "Newsflash, I regretted what I done the moment he touched me."
"Then why did you let him?"
"I never meant to!" she spat, alarming the Uchiha as she flung her things down and began pacing. "You wouldn't understand."
Shisui firmly, yet gently grabbed her by the shoulders, locking her in place. "Why don't you make me understand what happened?"
Unlike all the other times, the moment the Shimura girl felt his touch she embraced it without that annoying urge to push him away. She wanted to believe that he could understand what she had done. That he could stop being angry, shutting her out and disregarding her feelings. She wanted to believe that this was him, giving her a chance to correct it all. That they could possibly go back to the way things were.
The burgundette sighed, sort of disappointed that Shisui moved away from her to sit at the chaise lounge. "Tell me."
Kyori made her way over to the bed, plopping on it. Her bashful fudge met his attentive dusky gaze as the silence grew, ultimately becoming overbearing. "Everything I told Maki was true. We were just supposed to talk while sharing drinks. When I was done with all the arguing I told him to leave, but he wouldn't. Then he kissed me. I tried to pull away, but couldn't … and he wouldn't stop-"
"So he took advantage of you?!" Shisui held a dark grimace as he remembered how disheveled she looked that night. He wasn't trying to jump to a conclusion but the gears were already turning in his head. And he was getting angrier by the second. "Is that why you two aren't together? I swear the next time I see him I will kill him."
"Wait a minute!" Kyori quickly interjected. "He was kinda forceful, but I went along with it. I didn't want him, but it didn't stop me from hurting him the only way I knew how." The burgundette brought her eyes onto her lap, feeling heat drift all over her as he gave her a bemused expression. This was extremely embarrassing! "I-I just wanted him to understand that he was nothing to me. But when you saw me, I knew I went about it all wrong."
Now that he knew the entire story, Shisui didn't know how to feel. All the hurt, anger and disappointment he carried towards her was now being questioned. He wasn't sure if his feelings were as valid as they were when he caught her with Fu that very night. The Uchiha still felt that he was right to be upset, just like he was right to be disappointed. Kyori had done something that was below her, and Shisui was not even mentioning Fu. But playing with the Yamanaka's feelings to authenticate and measure how she felt about him in comparison was too harsh. And at the same time, it was such a Shimura Kyori thing to do. Guys were willing to fight and compete for her affections, and she would hurt anyone that wanted to play her game, if not tried ending it. But the only thing that Shisui could think about was…
"So," he coughed, then began to stammer briefly as he struggled with formatting words to come out of his lips. His dark eyes bled on hers as his cheeks shined with color. "Was it me… that you wanted?"
"Shut up!" The garnet haired girl uttered immediately while her fudge orbs watched as a rosy tinge licked at his cheeks. "How can you joke right now?!" Seeing him all bashful had her wondering what could possibly be going through his mind.
"Did you meant what you said the other day?... About me?" He wondered as he found himself discarding his seat to kneel beside her bed. His pitless onyx eyes glimmered with hope, and relief as her fudge gaze softened once their eyes met. "You really think of me in that way?"
"I want you," the girl answered as if she was withholding the chance to breathe. "I knew before you walked away, but…" she couldn't withhold her pout as she remembered all the tears, the nights full of yearning, and the morning where she grew sick and angry. "I couldn't deny it anymore."
"I don't know what to say." The dark haired male was encapsulated in the welcoming fudge of her eyes and he felt his body burn with a blush so fierce he bit back the urge to pull her into a kiss. Shisui then backed away, not in hopes of rejecting her. He didn't want to be too rash now that they were talking again.
Kyori shook her head before placing her bags down. "You don't have to say a word."
Ochaaa here!
So Kyori and Shisui has finally talked about that night of the fall out! To think that they spent all weekend fighting while she got acquainted with his family under the guise of being his girlfriend?!ghjmkd my lord!
What will possibly happen next?
