Klaus sits at a table reading a book. Less than a foot away a young woman lay bleeding out on the floor in front of a crack door which belonged to a bathroom. Running water could be heard coming from the crack door as the steam from the shower fills the room and trickles through the crack in the door. Suddenly, the water stops and a hand reaches out from behind the curtain grasping at the towel hanging on the rack above the toilet. It disappears behind the curtain and then the curtain pulls open and a woman steps out. She let down her hair as she grabbed a second towel from the countertop and ran it through her hair. She steps out of the bathroom over the body of the woman laying by the bathroom door and passes by a mirror.

Her birthmark is visible due to her shoulders being bare and her hair off to the side. She stops to look at and then traces the crescent moon shape. Her thoughts went back to a month ago during the last full moon when Klaus plans for her came to fruition. He was able to successfully merge the two separate parts of her into one in a ceremony that was similar to his own. It scared her to think about what she became when it was over. She had been there for Tyler's first change and though she knew she would be able to control once it was over, she didn't want to go through the hours of torture that he had endured. Just thinking about it made her want to run away. But as she stood there watching the terrified look on the faces of the vampire he made, the wolf he had found, and the man that she was supposed to kill to trigger the curse, she remembered Jenna.

She remembered the pure look of terror on her face as she realized what was about to happen to her and it was enough to make her keep her feet planted right where they were. For if she ran, she knew that he would chase her down and she couldn't imagine spending the next five hundred years on the run like Katherine and Rose. Even if she could, where would she go. It wasn't like she could run back home to mystic falls. She'd be putting her family at risk. Klaus would murder them all just to get back at her the way he did Katherine's family. She wouldn't be able to live with the guilt of knowing she was behind it. After all, they were the reason that she had chosen to go with him in the first place.

She had to take comfort in knowing that with her sacrifice, everyone would be safe. Klaus would get what he wanted and stay away from them as promised. She just had to tell herself that's all that matters. That they were free from Klaus and could live out the rest of their lives happy. As long as she remembered that she told herself that she could do anything. Kill anyone. If not, everything that she sacrificed would have been for nothing. John's death would have been in vain and Damon ...well he was a different story entirely and someone she didn't want to think about because it only made it harder not to go back. The only thing that kept her where she was besides the possibility of Klaus killing what was left of her family was hearing Damon finally admit out loud to Elena that he loved her.

Witnessing that moment, seeing her kiss him, it hurts more than she would ever admit to anyone, even herself. It also cemented in her mind what she had felt from the moment Klaus ripped out Jenna's heart. There was nothing left for her in Mystic Falls. Any hopes that she had about Damon all that wishful thinking left the moment he said those three words. Any doubt that she had that her heart no longer worked now that she was dead ended the moment he uttered those eight letters because it broke right then and there.

And it wasn't just his words that did it, it was Elena's kiss that sealed their fate. Damon wasn't going to let Elena go now so she had to let him go. It was the only way she was going to be able to do what she had to. So she gave him back the necklace and after this ritual was completed she was going to let go of the feelings but keep the memories to remind her what she was fighting for. It was then as she listened to the words of the witch Klaus had found being chanted she made the decision not to look back once it was done.

She stepped up to the first circle that held the newly turned vampire. His eyes were full of fear as he tried to run away from her but he wasn't fast enough. She had punched her hand through his chest before he even made it out of the circle and squeezed it inside his chest. A tear fell down her cheek and memories of her and Vicki came flooding to the surface followed by moments of her and Jenna. It played like a movie and she knew the moment she crushed his heart that person she was would no longer be. The knowledge didn't stop her and she ripped his heart out of his chest. She felt a sudden kick in her abdomen that had her doubling over feeling like the wind just got knocked out of her.

She could feel whatever the witch was doing working as she linked the two parts of her through a variation of a linking spell. When she could breathe again, she carried the heart over to the mortar in the witch's hand and crushed it in her hand, letting the blood drip into the cup. She repeated the same with the wolf again feeling the kick to her stomach and the breath being taken out of her. This time it had her dropping to one knee and she kneeled there until she was able to stand. Again she crushed the heart into the martor. A bit of Klaus's blood was the final step to unite it and he bit into her own risk bleeding into the martor.

She was forced to drink every drop as the witch continued to chant. She could feel her magic beginning to work as her blood started to boil and she felt like she was on fire. Then all of a sudden, the pain was gone but she felt a new hunger. She turned her sights on the last remaining victim who was to be the final sacrifice. He stood shocked and horrified as she came towards him. The fire ebbeding as she stepped through the circle. Her fangs protruded and she sunk them into his neck and drank until his heart stopped.

Things moved pretty quickly after that as her bones started to break one by one. The finale imagines she had memories of her Damon as she fell to the ground, the memories of her with Damon at the dance, after he had come to rescue her from the hotel, her giving him that necklace and comforting her after she had been taken and tortured by Jules and her pack. Each memory had served as something to let go with each breaking of her bones. The last memory before her full shift was one that she was going to hold on to. It wasn't one of the two of them but of him and Elena. The kiss they shared after she had made the ultimate sacrifice for him. That one she was going to keep to remind her not to let her feelings get in the way.

The kiss, Jenna and Vicki's death, her parent's, hers. They were all going to fuel the fire she needed to accomplish any and all things that Klaus was going to ask her to do. She knew from his past that he was going to have her do things that she rather not but for the sake of her friends and the people she loved she was going to do it. It was the last thing on her mind before the world had gone completely dark.

She had woken up two days later with no clothes and no memory of what she had done. Klaus had stayed with her the entire time to clean up after her to hide what she had done. She had left a lot of carnage in her wake and she didn't want to think about how what she did could impact others. All she cared about was that it was over and she never had to do it again unless she wanted to. But she had to admit, she felt a lot better afterwards. For the first time in a long time, she felt free.

Klaus notices her standing there looking at the crescent birthmark and shuts his book with a thud, "don't tell me you're being to regret your decision."

She drops her hand and turns to look at him, "actually I was thinking how freeing it was." She goes through the dead woman's suitcase for something to wear. She didn't bother packing before she left town with Klaus and had been living out of other people's suitcases. "I felt like a part of me was missing for a long time," she took out a baby blue dress that tied around the neck to look at with a shrug she said, "now I don't."

He stands up and walks over to her removing her hair to the right side of her shoulder to reveal crescent marking. "And this is only the beginning."

She had her doubts about Ray Sutton being any help to him at all. She told him about the doubts that she had over whether or not Ray was going to be forthcoming about where his pack is going to be during the next full moon.

She thought it'd be best that they didn't tell him about Klaus's plans to turn his entire pack into hybrids before they got the information out of him. Being that werewolves and vampires were natural enemies of each other. She doubted that they would want to become one.

When she told Klaus of her doubts he simply smiled his crooked smile and said, "you say that as if they have a choice."

"How careless of me to forget, free will doesn't exist when it comes to Niklaus Mikealson he just takes what he wants no matter who gets hurt." She took the dress into the bathroom to get changed. They were due to meet up with Ray any moment. They had gotten word from an old girlfriend of his that Ray had been in town for the full moon and had frequently visited a bar called the Southern Comfort which is where they could find him.

It was the next stop in their southern tour. They took certain precautions to make sure they could conduct their business without any interruptions. Alyssa, having gotten the hang of compulsion compelled the bar to ignore and forget anything that seemed strange or out of the ordinary to them. She ordered a couple of shots and danced along the jukebox and even tasted a few of the men as they waited for Ray. She healed them afterwards so they're wouldn't be any evidence that they had been there.

She tried to get Klaus to join in but he had his mind set on one thing and so she was left to entertain herself waiting for Ray. The bartender greets him when he walks in and Ray asks for a beer as he walks up to the bar.

Klaus comes up next to Ray to confirm that he is who the bartender claimed.

Ray responded with, "Who wants to know?"

Alyssa stops dancing and watches as Klaus put his hands on his shoulder, "I've been looking everywhere for you. We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there who you used to work with before you moved to Memphis, now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here, to you."

It was like Ray could sense that some sort of trouble was about to ensue for him and says, "I think I'll be going."

He tries to go but Klaus stops him. "Not so fast mate. You only just got here, now your type is very hard to come by."

Ray tries to walk the other way but he bumps into Alyssa who pushes him back to the counter next to where Klaus stands and comes to stand beside him so he's trapped.

He looks between the two realizing the situation he found himself in. "Vampires."

Alyssa gives him a one shoulder shrug and says, "not exactly." She pours herself another drink. "You see my friend there, he's a different kind of monster. He's a werewolf with a touch of a vampire. It's what you would call hybrid."

Ray looks at her astonishingly as she shoots back her drink. He couldn't process the fact that someone could be both a vampire and werewolf.

"And I attend to make more like me," he nods towards Alyssa, who is pouring herself another shot, "like her." She holds out her glass in his direction pouring down the shot. Klaus puts his hand on Ray shoulder, "Now you being the first werewolf that I've come across in many a moon, pun intended Ray! I need you to direct me to your pack. So, where can I find them Ray?"

Ray realizes what he's trying to do and forms him, "You can't compel me, it won't work."

Alyssa clasps her hand on Ray's shoulder. "Who said anything about compulsion?" She drags him over to the wall struggling to free himself from her grip. She pinned him to the wall restraining him with one hand while she used the other to chain him to the wall.

She walks behind the bar and pulls out a set of darts."Tell you what Ray, We're gonna play a little drinking game I call truth or wolfsbane." She pulls out a pair of thick black gloves out of her pocket along with a black pouch, pours it into her hand and crushes it. "I ask you a question," she pours the wolfsbane into a cup of liquor and stirred it with a dart. "Well just one really and if you answer you're free to go." She takes off her gloves, "choose not to," she walks to the opposite side of the bar and stands in front of him, "and I get to see if I can make your nose light up."

Alyssa sees Ray's eyes look around the bar, "don't expect their help; they've been compelled now onto the game shall we. Tell me where you're pack gathers for the full moon."

"No."

She throws a dart at him, hitting him in the shoulder. She asks again and he again denies to answer and she hits him with another dart.

This continues for another twenty minutes and now she's seated next to Klaus looking at Ray who groans in pain. "You know Ray you can end this right now. Just tell me where your pack gathers for the full moon.

"I can't."

"I know, I know. You live by code and all that, but here's the thing, I can't leave here until you tell me what I need to know and I really rather be on a beach somewhere with a Cabana boy and a drink but I can't unless you help me."

Again he doesn't answer and Alyssa grabs the knife off the counter that the bartender was using to cut lemons. "I guess I'm going to have to get a little more persuasive than huh." She cuts open his shirt using the knife and runs the knife across his chest forming a vertical line.

A half a dozen cuts later the bar door opens and a woman walks over to Klaus.

She stops and begins to listen. "Hello mister Klaus. I have some more information for you. You told me to tell you if I saw anything. I saw the guys spotted Damon at the farm house."

Alyssa turns Ray telling him to hold that thought and walks over to Klaus.

"Well, thank you Claudine. You'll just tell your friends to keep up the good work."

The girl walks away and Alyssa asks, "I wasn't aware that Damon's been tracking us."

"Well he is and he's getting closer." He says annoyed.

"What are you going to do?"

"No, love. What are you going to do? This is the time to prove that you've really put your old life behind you."

"Three months together and you still don't trust me."

"This will just cement my trust in you."

"What do you suggest I do considering his reason for being and any leverage I had is dead?"

"Not everyone."

She knew who he was referring to, "Stefan," She could see from the look in his eyes that he was up to something. "You want me to use Stefan as leverage?"

"If you want to save your beloved."

"Damon stopped being my beloved the moment I said goodbye to him."

"Now we both know that's not true. You've done a good job to convince me otherwise but we both know that Damon's the only reason you're here. If he hadn't gotten himself bitten by a werewolf you wouldn't be here. No matter how much you try to convince yourself otherwise you still love him."

"And look where that's got me but I'd be happy to play your errand girl if it gets me out of this town. The stench of broken dreams and desperation is starting to mess with my overly active senses." She says as she walks out.

She's back in mystic falls by nightfall and standing outside of the Salvatore house. The front is lined with cars and she could hear the thumping of loud music coming from inside. She peers through the window to see a bunch of people from school crowded in both the conservatory and the living room.

Red plastic cups covered whatever flat surface had been in range. In the middle of the crowd Elena danced with Bonnie and Caroline. She had almost forgotten it was Elena's eighteen birthday. She had planned to be there to celebrate it with her when the time had come but things haven't worked out that way. None of her plans did, this one had to.

She just couldn't do it there. There were too many people and she wanted to minimize the risk.

"Alyssa? Oh my God," Andy says coming up to her and hugging her, "we've been looking everywhere for you. How did you get away from Klaus?"

"I didn't. I'm just here to deliver a message." One she had to make sure they had gotten the first time.

Andy looks at her confused while Alyssa watches Elena trying to convince Stefan to dance. She turns and sits her hand on his shoulder and looks her in the eyes. "There's something I need you to do for me." She sends her inside to deliver a message to Stefan and Damon before returning home to find that most of the lights were out except for the one in the living room. That's where she found Rick asleep on the couch. She stops and watches him before she continues upstairs in Jeremy's room where she finds him asleep in bed. She walks in sitting beside him watching him while he sleeps. She was careful not to wake him at least not yet and just watched him for a while.

She brushes the hair out of his face as she does, "I'm sorry." She whispered before taking her hand to cover his mouth and nose. His eyes flew open as he struggled to breathe. They grow even larger when he realizes the cause of it. Clawing at her wrist, He tries to push her away but it's no use. His arms started to flail around knocking things off his dresser as he struggled. It alerts Ric who rushes up the stairs with a crossbow as soon as he hears the commotion. Jeremy has stopped fighting by then and she looks up to see Rick watching her with horror and surprise in his eyes.

He aims the already loaded bow at her as she stands but he catches it. He drops the bow and reaches for the stake but she's in front by the time he pulls it out and knocks it out of his hand. She then grabs him by the neck and ram his head against the wall, knocking him unconscious. She walks back over to Jeremy and picks him up carrying him down the stairs and places him on the couch.

A bag of Alaric's hunter gear is sitting by the chair and she reaches in there pulling out two syringes full of vervain just as she hears a car pull up. She waits behind the wall to the living room as the door opens. Elena is the first one to walk in and she comes running when she sees Jeremy unconscious on the couch. She kneels down in front of him just as Stefan comes in and she grabs sticks the needle full of vervain in his neck. He grunts causing Elena to turn around and Damon to stop in his tracks.

"Stefan," Elena rushes to his side and before Stefan's body could hit the grown she jabs the syringe in Damon's neck and both Salvatore's are out.

Elena looks up at her sister but Alyssa just passes her and goes into the kitchen and takes two of the chairs from the table. She sets them on the opposite side of each room and sits both brothers in them but she doesn't tie them down. Instead, she fashions a wooden spike and runs it through both of their hands and feet keeping them in place. She takes a third chair from the kitchen and sits in the middle moving the couch back. She sits it in the middle between both Salvatores.

"Sit," she commands Elena and she does so although hesitantly.

"Why are you doing this?" She asks after she's seated but Alyssa doesn't answer her. She just takes up a seat on the arm of the couch and waits for both Damon and Stefan to wake up. It's a while before he does and by then Rick is awake and staggering down the stairs.

"Rick," Alyssa spoke for the first time since her ambush, "it's nice of you to join us. I was afraid you were going to miss this."

"Alyssa," he says holding the back of his head, "What are you doing?"

"Making a point."

"You don't have to do this." Elena tells her not really sure what this was. "Whatever Klaus is making you do…"

"You have no idea what Klaus has made me do." Some stuff she still gave her nightmares. "How many people I had to kill. All to keep him from coming back here and finding out that you were alive."

"That's what this is about? You're doing this to protect us."

"In the beginning. But the more I was forced to kill. The more blood I drank the more I began to like it. The more I craved it. Not the blood, the kill. I enjoy it now. And I hate myself for it. And I hate you for making me into this more than I hate Klaus for making me like him."

"So he did it." Damon grunts out as he is finally able to wake up. "He turned you into a hybrid."

"And he used the same ritual that he used on Jenna to do it. With a few tweeks of course. I mean how sick is that. He forced me to watch as it turns out my mother died right in front of me. Only to have me perform the same ritual on someone else." She still remembered the look on their faces as she ripped out their hearts and squeezed it until it was nearly ash. "I kept picturing her face before she turned off her emotions and I started to think how easy it would be if I could just flip the switch and turn it all off.

But then I thought about you," she says looking at Damon, "that night we shared together after Jenna died. How good it made me feel. I thought about my feelings for you and I couldn't. Because if I turned off all the pain then I would turn off all the good stuff too and I wanted to keep that. I wanted to keep my feelings for you. It was the only thing that kept me going the last couple of months. I had to remember why I was doing it. I was protecting you and you Rick," she looks at Rick who has joined them, "you," she looks at Stefan. "Jeremy," she looked at Jeremy who had yet to wake up even though he was wearing his ring. "I kept telling myself to protect you from a monster I had to become one." She looks around the room at all the eyes on her. "Or it was going to be all of you on that altar instead of three strangers and I couldn't let that happen.

So I killed and Killed and Killed and after a while I wasn't doing it for you anymore. I was doing it to make myself feel better. I was doing it because I wanted to make someone feel as broken and beaten as I was and it worked, for a while. Until I realized that I was taking my anger out on the wrong people. None of them were the reason for my pain and none of them deserved to die because of it. Every last one of you is. Stefan," she looks at Stefan to share with him his crime.

"You killed my best friend all to save the girl you loved. It didn't matter that you had over a hundred of years on her and all you had to do was pull her way. You choose to put a stake through her heart. You were supposed to help her and you failed. You left me without the one person who wouldn't and didn't judge me for my mistakes. Someone I choose as my sister and not one that was forced on me and in return I helped Damon kill your best friend. Perhaps that's when the taste for blood bloomed. Then there's you Damon."

She looks at him. "You were the first to kill Vicki. Your obsession with my sister is the reason we had to save Caroline and Tyler. It's what made Klaus have to find another alternative. It's why he grabbed Jenna as punishment for what we did and with all of that I still fell in love with you. That's on me and I will hate myself for it for the rest of my life. Maybe if I wasn't so worried about what would happen to you if something were to happen to Elena I would have stopped you from saving Caroline and Tyler. Klaus wouldn't have taken someone else that I loved. What's worse is that I handed myself over to Klaus so he could turn me into this thing to save you. Because I couldn't stand the thought of losing you. I just didn't know at the time I already had. Cause while I was saving you you were here professing your love to Elena."

Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Stefan turn to Damon before looking at Elena who avoided looking at him. She saw this and turned to Stefan."You didn't know. Yeah I walked in on him telling Elena that he loves her. Of course he was dying so you can't really blame him. I did the same thing and it's not like it's a surprise I always knew it but hearing him say it and then watching her kiss him."

She looks back at Damon. "I finally realized something, it'll never be me you choose." She looks around the room. "Any of you, not if it comes down to me or her. So I'm done giving you the same courtesy. The only person I'm looking out for is me. From this day forward," She stands up."Your lives will no longer mean anything to me."

"I don't believe you." Damon says and Alyssa turns back to look at him. "You wouldn't be here trying to convince us not to follow you so Klaus doesn't come back if that girl that I met in the town square who tried to convince me that I deserved better than Katherine didn't still exist. The same person who spent months trying to save me from myself. You wouldn't have given yourself over to Klaus to save me if a part of her wasn't still there."

"You're right. She is." Before he can react she grabs Elena by her neck and pins her against the wall. Her hand still on Elena's neck, "and you can save her Damon." She says looking over her shoulder at him. "You can save me. Prove that my sacrifice wasn't for nothing. Prove that I'm not wrong and there is hope. Choose me." She turns back to Elena squeezing her neck tighter. "Let me kill her and I'll stay."

There's a brief pause and he stands there looking between them. Alyssa could see that he was struggling with his decision. "I'll even make it a little easier for you." She bites into Elena's neck deep and tosses her on the floor. Rick comes rushing to her side to stop the blood with pressure but it just sips through his fingers.

"So what's it gonna be? It's either watch her die or let me walk out that door. But know the next time we see each other my feelings for you won't matter. You won't matter. Better decide quickly, she's going...going..going."

"Okay. Okay!" He says as he hears Elena's heartbeat fading fast. "You want me to choose. I choose her. I choose Elena."

She smiles but it doesn't reach her eyes and she walks over to him pulling the stake out from both his hands and his feet and pulls him out the chair. "You see," She looks down at him, "that wasn't hard now was it." She snaps his neck and drops his body to the ground. Stepping over him, she kneels down beside Elena feeding her blood until she's healed. She looks down at her as she stands watching her as she rushes to Damon's side to check on him. She calls his name but he doesn't respond.

She walks over to Stefan and pulls the stake from his hands and feet. She walks over to the door where Andy had been silently standing the whole time as she told. She stops and looks at her before using one hand to snap her neck. She turns back to the room and says, "Just in case none of you take me seriously." She leaves stepping over Andy's dead body.

She returns to Klaus to find Ray is lying on his back on a pool table with Klaus hovering above him when they walk in.

"Okay, it's a three step process, Ray. This is step one. I want you to drink from my wrist."

"I already told you where to find the pack. What more do you want from me?"

"Have you been listening to a word I've been saying, Ray? I have great plans for you." He cuts his wrist and makes him drink his blood. "You'll thank me for it later, huh. There we go, attaboy!"

"What are you going to do now?"

"It's time for step two, Ray." He twists his neck, killing him and looks at Alyssa. "Good you're back."

"Did you doubt me?"

"Not for a second."

She points to Ray, "I see you got what you wanted from Ray. What now?"

"Now I wait for Ray to wake up and feed him some blood in the meantime why don't you enjoy dinner for me. You've earned it!" He picks up Ray and carries him out of the bark.

"Don't mind if I do." She says sinking her teeth into the first person that she saw. She stops after the last body has hit the floor and wipes her mouth. She looks around at all the bodies laying around. She feels around in their pockets and doesn't stop until she finds a lighter. She takes it out wiping their blood on her jeans and walks behind the bar. She pours an entire bottle of liquor on the counter top, takes the light and lights it taking it from the counter to the door. She tosses the bottle inside and lights the alcohol setting the bar on fire and walks out.

Klaus looks at her and she shrugs, "if you want to bury them be my guess but I thought this would be quicker." She turns and walks away. Klaus takes a look back and then walks away dragging Ray behind as the bar goes up in flames.
