A/N Hi Everyone and welcome to the newest chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud! It's finally here, the long awaited rematch between Lincoln and Roxanne! How will the battle turn out this time? Will Lincoln win? Or will it be Roxanne who loses? Time to find out.
For those wondering what category May's contest was, I hate to say that much like the anime, I will not be doing the different categories for Contests.
Half an hour after May had reunited with her friends, our heroes once again found themselves standing outside of the Rustboro Gym. Unlike last time however, Lincoln didn't hesitate to enter the building. The trio once again made their way through the museum area, and made a beeline towards the arena in the back, where Roxanne stood in wait.
Roxanne once again stood on the small stage at the back of the building and as soon as she saw who had entered, a small smirk formed on her face as she made her way to meet the trio.
"I was wondering when you'd be back," said Roxanne. "I hope you're ready for a repeat of last time."
"Sorry but I don't plan on losing today." replied Lincoln, returning Roxanne's smirk with one of his own.
Roxanne turned towards Lana and May and once again directed them to take a seat in the stands as she and Lincoln made their way to each side of the battle arena.
The official soon arrived and made his way to the referee box. Once there he addressed the combatants.
"This is an official league battle between the challenger, Lincoln Loud, and the Rustboro Gym Leader, Roxanne." he began, "This will be an elimination match, with each trainer using two Pokemon. Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokemon during the Match. The battle is over when both of a trainers Pokemon are unable to battle."
The official turned towards each trainer. "Are the combatants ready?" he cried. When both trainers gave a nod of confirmation, he then made a chopping motion with his hand as he called for the battle to begin.
Meanwhile, Lana and May had been busy waiting to see what Lincoln would do when they received a call from the Dimensional Watch. Quickly answering, Lana was unsurprised to see that her family was on the other end, but she was surprised to see that they had been joined by her Grandfather, Bobby, Sam, and Ronnie Anne.
"Hey guys!" she said. "You're just in time, Lincoln's battle is about to start."
"Lana, is all that stuff about Pokemon true?" asked Ronnie Anne.
Lana grew confused. "Well, yeah? Haven't you seen the Pokemon we sent to the house?"
"We have." said Bobby, "But we thought that maybe Lisa had made them in her lab"
"Is it true that you found Lincoln?" asked Pop-pop. "And is it true that you found him over a week ago?" He looked at the rest of the family with an annoyed expression on his face, clearly miffed over the fact that no one had bothered to let him know that his grandson had been found.
"Umm yeah..we did." said Lana nervously, "Sorry we didn't let you know but we had to go find him as soon as possible."
Before anyone could continue, May quietly interrupted.
"Sorry to break up the conversation," she said, getting everyone's attention. "But the battle is about to start."
"Well turn the camera so we can watch!" cried LJ, which the family quickly agreed to but the newcomers looked confused.
"What did she mean by 'battle'?" asked Sam. "Also who is that?"
"That's May," said Lori, "Lincoln's new 'friend'" All of the sisters giggled at that while May began to blush in embarrassment.
"As for what she meant by 'battle'," said Lisa, "It would probably be better if you watch the proceedings than to have us explain."
Lana turned the camera, showing the whole arena to everyone just as the official called for the battle to begin.
"Geodude, start things off with Rock Polish!" cried Roxanne as she tossed out Geodude's Pokeball. As soon as the rock type appeared it began to spin rapidly in place, causing its body to gain a sparkling shine as its speed increased.
Lincoln brought out the black luxury ball containing his Bounsweet and tossed it into the arena.
"Lola!" he cried, "Even the playing field with Sweet Scent!"
Lola II immediately began shaking the leaves on her head, causing a faint pink, sweet smelling mist to spread throughout the arena, calming down Geodude and lowering its evasiveness.
Roxanne looked at the Bounsweet with an appraising stare.
"I see you've added some new Pokemon to your team," she said. "Let's see if they can change the outcome from last time."
Roxanne quickly called out to Geodude.
"Geodude! Use Defence Curl then transition into Rollout!" she ordered. Geodude immediately curled into a ball, its arms crossed over its face as it then began to quickly roll towards Lola II.
"Counter it with Play Nice and Rapid Spin!" cried Lincoln as Lola II gave a quick dance that briefly confused Geodude, lowering its attack power. She then began to spin around like a top, the force of the rotation moving her towards Geodude at a breakneck pace.
The two Pokemon collided in the center of the arena, repelling each other on contact, only to immediately crash into each other once again.
Meanwhile in the stands, Lana and May were busy cheering on their friend/sibling, as the Louds back home also cheered in support. The newcomers, however, were too stunned to cheer as they watched the battle in awe.
"This is intense!" murmured Sam. Ronnie Anne and Bobby could only nod in agreement as they couldn't find the words to describe what they were seeing.
"In all my years I've never seen anything like this." said Pop-pop. He turned towards the rest of his family, briefly showing surprise to see that they had been joined by Mimikyu, Skitty, and Paras, who were sitting in Lucy, Lola, and Lisa's laps respectively.
"Is it okay for Lincoln to be doing this?" he asked in concern.
Rita and Lynn Sr. briefly looked at each other before turning towards their elder.
"From what we were told, Pokemon love to battle each other and do so at their own discretion." said Rita. "As for safety, we were told that everyone involved takes the utmost precautions to make sure no one is harmed."
Pop-pop nodded glad to know that his grandson wouldn't be harmed. He then turned back to the battle just in time to see Lola II and Geodude bounce off each other one more time.
Soon both combatants came to a halt on their own sides of the arena, each trying to recover their breath. It was clear that each Pokemon was almost at their limit, with bruises and other marks of battle on their body.
"I don't like seeing my little Lola II getting hurt," said Lola, "But I'm proud that she can dish it out as well as take it."
Roxanne looked at the field, clearly impressed with how even the battle had been.
"Geodude!" she called out, "Finish this with Bulldoze!"
Geodude leapt up high into the air, curling its body into a tight ball as it then descended onto the field like a meteor, hitting the ground and causing a massive shockwave of earth to spread out towards the opposing Bounsweet.
"Lola! Use Splash to leap over the shockwave, then hit it with Razor Leaf!" yelled out Lincoln.
The Bounsweet stayed still as the shockwave got closer and closer before making a quick hopping motion that launched her over the incoming wave of earth and, as she reached the apex of her jump, she began shooting out a blast of sharp-edged leaves from the leaf-like petals on her head.
Quicker than she could react, Roxanne watched as the sharp leaves blasted into Geodude. The rock type crossed its arms in front of his body, trying its best to hold out until the attack ended. It soon proved to be too much for it to take as the barrage of leaves soon overwhelmed the Pokemon, blasting it back towards Roxanne. As Geodude landed at its trainers feet it became apparent that it was down for the count as it lay there unconscious.
"Geodude is unable to battle!" yelled the official. "Bounsweet is the winner!"
The Louds, those present and at home, cheered as May yelled out encouragement to her friend. Bobby, Sam, and Ronnie Anne also began to voice their support as Lincoln praised his Pokemon.
"Lola, are you still good to battle?" he cried out to the small grass type.
Lola II just turned towards her trainer, giving a quick nod before turning back towards Roxanne just as the Gym Leader threw out her final Pokeball, releasing her Nosepass.
"Congratulations, Lincoln!" said Roxanne, "You're doing much better than in our last battle. Unfortunately, it will still end the same as last time."
Roxanne then turned to her Nosepass, quickly calling her orders.
"Nosepass! Use Thunder Wave then Block!" she cried. Nosepass quickly gathered static electricity from its surroundings and launched it towards the Bounsweet. Before she could dodge, the energy hit the grass type causing her to cry out in pain as the electricity coursed through her. As the grass type tried to recover, Nosepass's eyes began to glow with an odd light which briefly enveloped Lola II.
"Not again!" yelled LJ, upset on behalf of her brother.
Seeing that his Pokemon was now paralyzed, Lincoln pulled out Lola II's Pokeball to swap her out with a Pokemon at full health.
"Lola, return!" he called. As the beam from the Luxury Ball shot toward Lola II, everyone was shocked to see the beam was blocked by the same odd aura that had enveloped Bounsweet earlier.
"Sorry Lincoln," called Roxanne, "But Block prevents you from swapping out your Pokemon for some time."
"Crap." swore Lincoln, "That means I need to end this quickly."
"Lola! Try to use Razor Leaf!" he called out. Much to his surprise and glee, Lola II managed to fight her paralysis long enough to shoot out another flurry of sharp leaves at Nosepass.
"That's not going to work this time!" yelled Roxanne, "Nosepass, use Harden, then Rock Throw!" Nosepass briefly became still as its body seemed to become even sturdier than before. As the flurry of leaves enveloped the rock type, its sturdier body managed to hold out until the attack was done. As the last of the leaves hit its body, Nosepass began to grab pieces of the arena and throw them at its opponents.
"Lola! Try to dodge it!" yelled Lincoln. Unfortunately, as Lola II tried to move as a jolt of static charged through her body, causing her muscles to seize up, and preventing her from moving. Everyone watched as the incoming Rock Throw collided with the grass type causing dust to fly into the air. When the dust cleared, Lola II was lying on her back, eyes rolled into the back of her head.
"Bounsweet is unable to battle!" yelled the Official, "Nosepass is the winner!"
"Looks like the tables have turned Roxanne!" cried Lincoln, "Last time you were the one with a fully powered Pokemon while I had the tired one."
"True but I don't think Nosepass will be tired for much longer!" taunted Roxanne.
"Then I need to end this quickly," Lincoln retorted, taking out his next Pokeball and tossing it into the arena.
"Lynn! Let's finish it!" he declared, his starter taking the field with a crow of defiance and a look of fierce determination on her face.
The Louds (especially LJ) were stunned to see how much the fire type had changed from a little chick like Pokemon to a fierce looking combatant.
"Looks like someone's gotten stronger!" called out Roxanne, "It still won't be enough! Nosepass use Thunder Wave!"
Nosepass immediately began gathering electrical energy before blasting it towards Lynn, who just looked at the incoming attack with a bored expression. Without any prompting from her trainer the Combusken waited until just before the attack hit before leaping high into the air and over the electrical energy.
"Lynn, Hit Nosepass with a Double Kick!" cried Lincoln. As soon as Lynn made contact with the floor she rocketed towards Nosepass, before striking it with one kick that knocked it off balance, then a second one which launched it back several feet.
The entire arena was silent, save for the sound of Nosepass's heavy breathing as it slowly got back on its feet.
"Man…" said LJ as she stared in disbelief, "I take back everything I said about him naming a chicken after me."
Lisa took out a tape recorder and quickly made a note to study Pokemon Evolution as soon as she could.
Back in the arena, Lynn was bouncing from foot to foot waiting for her opponent to recover from her attack. Once she had seen that Nosepass was ready to continue she made several taunting noises while stretching out an arm and making a 'bring it on' gesture.
Roxanne took a moment to formulate a strategy before an idea struck her.
"Nosepass! Use Rock Throw!" she cried. Nosepass immediately throwing boulder after boulder at the Young Fowl Pokemon, seemingly in a desperate attempt to knock it out as quickly as possible.
Lynn just got a bored look on her face as she began to sidestep each boulder with ease. At one point she decided to stand in place and just kick the boulders aside instead of dodging just to give her a bit of a challenge. That changed when Roxanne ordered Nosepass to increase the speed of its throws. Nosepass then began to throw the boulders faster than before resulting in several airborne rocks flying through the air at the same time.
Having not expected this, a few boulders managed to make it past Lynn's defense, striking the fire type and momentarily knocking her on her back.
"Quick! Use Rest while it's distracted!" yelled Roxanne. Nosepass immediately fell asleep, healing all of its injuries and regaining its stamina. Just like in its previous battle, Nosepass then swallowed a Chesto Berry, immediately waking it up from its sleep just as Lynn leapt back onto her feet.
"Now that Nosepass is all healed up, time to launch a counter attack!" Roxanne yelled. "Use Harden and then Tackle to close the distance!"
Nosepass stood still for a brief instant, its body stiffening and becoming sturdier than before. It then moved forward as fast as it could, barreling towards Lynn in order to hit it with a full body tackle.
Lincoln just watched in silence waiting for Nosepass to get closer. As soon as he deemed that the rock type had gotten close enough he then called out some orders to his starter.
"Lynn! Meet it head on with a Flame Charge then hit it with a Double Kick!" he cried. Lynn then wrapped her body in flame as she ran full force at the incoming Nosepass. The two Pokemon collided in the middle of the arena, causing a huge explosion that kicked up a cloud of dust that engulfed the field.
Everyone was silent for just a moment waiting for visibility to get better when Nosepass was knocked clear of the dust cloud, propelled by the force of the Double Kick attack it had been hit by. It lay on the field, struggling to regain its footing, still determined to win the battle.
"Use one more Double Kick to finish it off!" cried Lincoln. Lynn then burst out of the dust cloud making a beeline for the downed rock Pokemon. She then leapt into the air, extending one leg out and aiming directly for the fallen Nosepass.
"That's exactly what I was waiting for!" Taunted Roxanne. "Use Thunder Wave!"
Lincoln's eyes widened as he realized what Roxanne had planned. Just before Lynn's attack made contact, Nosepass shot out a blast of electrical energy, hitting the fire type point blank and blasting her back several feet.
Lynn slowly struggled to her feet as sparks of static electricity dance across her body. Her muscles twitched and spasmed as she struggled to move, the paralysis slowing her movement.
"Now that she's slowed down, use Rest again!" cried Roxanne, Nosepass immediately going to sleep.
Roxanne looked at Lincoln, a cocky smirk on her face. "With your Combusken Paralyzed she's now an easy target. Once Nosepass awakens we'll be able to hit her with everything we got! Sorry Lincoln but this battle is over."
Lincoln lowered his head, seemingly upset over losing once again before his head shot up, a mischievous look in his eye.
"You've got that right Roxanne," he said, "This battle is over but not in the way you think it is. You've already used up your Chesto Berry, and by the time Nosepass wakes up it will all be over."
"There's no way your Combusken can attack my Nosepass while it's Paralyzed." said Roxanne.
"True but we have a way to get around that." Lincoln retorted. Roxanne grew momentarily confused, before her eyes widened in understanding. She quickly glanced at Lynn, only to gain a shocked expression on her face when the plucky fire type opened the claw on its right arm revealing a small red Berry.
Lynn immediately tossed the Cheri Berry into her mouth, swallowing it in one big gulp. Almost immediately the static energy running throughout her body dissipated leaving her able to move once again.
"Finish it with back to back Double Kicks!" yelled Lincoln. Lynn looked back to her trainer giving him a quick nod in understanding before turning back to her opponent, a fierce grin forming on her face as she rocketed towards Nosepass.
"Nosepass!" cried Roxanne, "Wake Up and use Harden!"
Unfortunately her orders fell on deaf ears as Nosepass was too deep in slumber to obey her commands and Roxanne could only watch as her opponent closed the distance between them.
Lynn leapt into the air, somersaulting and slamming the heel of her foot into Nosepass's body. She then twirled in place, hitting it with a sweeping motion with the other foot, then repeating the motion a second time, kicking the heavy rock type into the air before striking it right in the center of its nose with her fourth and final kick.
Nosepass rocketed through the air, causing Roxanne to leap to the side to avoid being struck by her airborne partner, before colliding with the wall in the back of the arena forming a massive crater.
The official ran forward looking down at Nosepass and immediately noticed that the rock type was sporting several cracks across its body and its eyes were rolled back.
"Nosepass is unable to battle!" he cried, "Combusken is the winner and the victory goes to Lincoln Loud!"
The Loud family (both present and at home) erupted into cheers as Lincoln ran towards his starter, embracing her in a bone-crushing hug. May watched with a gigantic smile on her face as Roxanne recalled Nosepass and began making her way towards Lincoln, a small smirk on her face.
"I have to say Lincoln," she began, "I thought for sure I had you with that Thunder Wave."
Lincoln grinned before looking down at his starter, petting her on the top of her head.
"Well, we've got you to thank Roxanne," he said. "You gave us the idea to use a Cheri Berry as a counter to Thunder Wave."
Lincoln then pointed towards the top of his head as Joltik revealed itself from his hair.
"Plus I had a little help from this little guy."
Roxanne smiled before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a small badge that looked like two arrows pointing away from each other with a diagonal mark in the center.
"Either way, I'm proud to award you with the Stone Badge." she said, as she handed the badge to Lincoln.
As Lincoln took the badge from Roxanne, he could hear his family and friends cheering him on from the stands. Lincoln grinned before giving a triumphant yell as he held his new badge into the air, Lynn giving a crow of victory right alongside her trainer.
Next stop, Dewford Town.

p.s. Yes I know Splash doesn't do anything but I thought that since the Japanese name for the attack is Hop, it would make a nice silly little idea for it to be used to dodge.
