The genetics lab of the GMO company U-Topia was rather grand for a relatively new company. It had top of the line everything, the perfect environment for experimentation and work on projects.

It separated itself from other GMO companies by discovering and then patenting the use of titan and Hollow earth DNA in organisms. They'd made Cows that could feed off radiation, cleaning and helping to reduce radiation in areas while also producing (supposedly) safe consumable meat. They had made edible fungi that grew so voraciously that their spores were considered a biohazard, capable of decimating ecosystems. They made dogs with human length life spans, houseplants that were truly unkillable and single trees which could photosynthesize faster than a forest.

Useful stuff!

They had received scepticism over the short time they had existed after they refused to say how they got the titan DNA and the discovery that they had been snooping about in old APEX facilities but that had largely been forgotten after their glowing successes they had with their genetic modification.

One employee of the company had just finished logging the results of batch 13 of project Cyberclaw on a document and sent it off to the higher ups. He picked up the batch which was a bunch of misshapen foetuses that were bound for the incinerator and walked through the halls with it.

Just as he was about to enter the disposal room he got a call on his cellphone. He shifted batch 13 into his other arm and pulled out his phone to the sea who was calling him. It was the CEO of the company.

The employee frantically pressed answer and held the phone to his ear.

"Mister Serizawa!" he said, placing the batch of foetuses on a nearby windowsill, "it's an honour."

"We have a breakthrough,'' Ren Sewizawa notified ,"we need all scientific personnel to gather in room 105, it was on the announcements but you evidently didn't hear it. Get over here ASAP, the meeting has already started but I want everyone here."

"I'm on my way!" he exclaimed. He hung up and then looked at Batch thirteen. He looked around to make sure no one was watching before hastily opening the window and pushing them out the window, watching as they tumbled down into the ocean.

He shut the window and then ran off down the hall, desperate to get the seminar as it sounded important.

Meanwhile Batch 13 landed in the ocean, the class casing shattering from impact, spilling whatever creatures were inside into the ocean and out to the wider world.
