An overflow of power flows through Izuku's veins like a surging waterfall, and the world seems so slow. Izuku could see every single detail. The beast is tall, probably taller than All Might. His veins bulge through his skin, deep dark purple. The thing must be a half-bird, its brain exposed with its eyes popping out of its skull with red crawling around the eyes. The beast has a long triangular beak. The thing stares down at Izuku. Izuku readies his fist, waiting for the thing to make the first move.
The Sharingan studies everything about the beast: the height, the width, potential power, and when the muscles move. With a big body like that, it should be difficult for the beast to charge. With Izuku's small stature and speed, he should be able to dodge any hits.
He was wrong.
The beast's muscles flexed. It's coming. In the blink of an eye, the beast was already in front of Izuku, cocking back its massive fist. How did it move so fast? Izuku bends himself, barely dodging the strike as it crashes into the ground. The crash sends Izuku flying backward near the wall of fire. What strength, Izuku thinks. Not only it's strong, but it also has the speed to back it up. It's almost like a copy of All Might. But that's impossible. No one or thing should be close to his level in terms of pure destruction powers. Izuku returns to his feet, his eyes refocusing on his target.
Izuku takes a second to catch his breath. The flames behind Izuku crawl his back. The heat leaping into his body. The beast turns its face to Izuku as if it's studying him. Those buggy eyes gaze into Izuku's soul. He could only wonder why it was so empty.
The beast takes a step toward Izuku—a long encumbering stride. Izuku looks past it to the long alleyway. There's a wide gap between the beat and the alleyway. But Izuku doesn't want to test the beast's speed. If it is a copied version of All Might, then there's no chance of escape for him. There's a greater and greater weight stacking on Izuku's shoulder. The ring of fire. The bus ride and driver. The beast. The vision of his brother. How long has everything been planned? What are they after? Who are they?
Izuku grabs a flaming piece of scrap and tosses it at the beast with all of his might in an attempt to test the beast. Except it doesn't go as planned. As the scrap flings toward the beast, it smacks against his thick steel-like hide and falls to the asphalt. It only concentrates on Izuku. It unclenches his fist and reaches for Izuku with those massive sausage fingers reaching for his neck. What speed! Izuku thought.
He couldn't believe something so massive could whip through the air with lightning speed. With his back to the flaming pile of cars, Izuku leaps into the raging inferno, right into the ash-turning seats, over the charred body, and through the melting window. Glass, ash, and flames follow Izuku as the beast blasts through the blockade. A dozen shards riddle Izuku's arm and face. The beast flings vehicles like toys. They crash into storefronts, collapsing the entrance of most buildings nearby. Izuku recovered quickly, and as soon his toe touched the asphalt, he dashed immediately. Izuku didn't look back. No, that'll waste time. In front of him is an open street.
The street ahead is eerily quiet, devoid of any signs of life. Rain continues to pour down, mixing with the fiery chaos behind Izuku. His heart races, pounding against his chest as he sprints through the lonely street, adrenaline fueling every step. Each breath he takes feels like fire in his lungs, but he doesn't dare slow down.
The beast's thunderous footsteps echo behind him, the ground trembling with each of its strides. Izuku steals a glance over his shoulder and catches a glimpse of the colossal creature in pursuit, its monstrous form barreling through the wreckage like an unstoppable force of nature.
Panic courses through Izuku's veins as he pushes himself harder, willing his legs to move faster. His mind races, searching for any semblance of a plan, any way to outmaneuver the beast. He ducks into an alley, hoping to lose it to the streets.
The narrow alleyway twists and turns, the sound of rain and thunder drowning out his footsteps. Izuku's breaths come in ragged gasps, his muscles screaming in protest, but he presses on. Then, the Sharingan sees his chance. He spots a fire escape ladder attached to the side of a nearby building and makes a split-second decision.
Izuku leaps, grabbing hold of the ladder and pulling himself up as swiftly as he can. The metal rungs are slick with rain, and his grip is harsh, but he climbs with single-minded grit. The sounds of destruction grow distant as he climbs, the beast's roars fading into the background.
Reaching the rooftop, Izuku heaves himself over the ledge, collapsing onto the wet surface, his chest heaving with exertion. He crawls away from the edge, taking refuge behind an air vent, his body trembling with adrenaline and fear. Fear?
Was he scared? He takes a glance at his hands. They shake as if they stood in an earthquake. He closes his eyes. Breathe. Breathe. In and out, calm down. That thing doesn't know where Izuku is. Maybe it'll go away. Izuku pours his senses into the storm, ignoring all the rain splatters and swirling of the wind. There are no echoing footsteps or crushing concrete. It's quiet. Is it gone?
Izuku's heart pounded in his chest as he crouched behind the air vent, desperately hoping he lost the beast. Except that wasn't the case. The entire building shook. The rooftop beneath him shook violently, and before Izuku could react, the monstrous creature burst through the building, its massive form lunging toward him.
There was no time to think, only to react. The world blurred into chaos as the building collapsed around them. Rubble exploded upwards as the creature flew into the air. Then, the floor beneath gave up, and Izuku fell. The beast followed.
As Izuku's hand gripped the sharp rebar, he swung it with all the strength he could muster, aiming for the beast's eyes, vulnerable spots, anything to fend off the colossal creature lunging at him. The metal clashed against the beast's steel-like flesh, emitting a resounding clang that echoed amidst the chaos. Izuku's muscles strained with each strike, his breaths ragged as he fought against the relentless force hurtling towards him.
The monstrous creature's hulking figure loomed over Izuku, its massive hand reaching out with terrifying speed. Adrenaline surged through Izuku's veins, his red Sharingan eyes fixating on the beast. He pushed his limits, channeling every ounce of strength and focus into defending himself against this relentless foe.
The fall felt endless, the ground rushing to meet them in a blur of destruction. Debris and dust swirled around them as the rooftop disintegrated beneath their weight. Izuku's heart thundered in his chest, the impending impact looming closer with each passing second.
The beast's hand closed in, and Izuku wielded the rebar like a makeshift sword. Izuku aimed another strike at its face. The creature's eyes bore into him with a bleak intensity, sending shivers down his spine. Yet, in that moment, the world slowed down. Every detail, from the grit of the rebar in his hand to the massive bulk of the creature, stood out in vivid clarity.
The beast's grip tightened as if to crush Izuku. His rips felt like they were going to snap, but he managed to land a solid blow, the metal connecting with the creature's forehead. The metal slashes across the monster's eye, giving Izuku a single a bit of hope Izuku.
In that brief relaxation, Izuku's instincts took over. He twisted his body, trying to evade the imminent collision with the ground. The beast, recovering from the blow, placed its other hand over his hand and the beast began squeezing him. Pressure is starting to build in all around him. His eyes were going to pop out of his skull. Izuku's bones were ready to shatter.
As the ground rushed up to meet them, Izuku's senses heightened. The deafening roar of crumbling concrete, the rush of air whipping past him, as memories and moments of his life flew through his head as they crashed into the earth below merged into a single ear-deafening explosion.
Their bodies collided with the ground, the impact rattling every bone in Izuku's body. The crash released Izuku from its grip. Dust and debris billowed around them, obscuring his vision. Pain shot through his entire being as the world spun in a disorienting whirlwind. Darkness threatened to consume his consciousness as he lay sprawled in the middle of the wreckage, the echo of the beast's roaring still ringing in his ears. Izuku could feel his Sharingan slip away. Is there where he dies? All those years wasting away living for the sake of living. Allowing his brother to live after all he has done. No, Izuku won't die before that monster pays the price. And Izuku will not let this monster stop him.
His body screamed for him to stop. It doesn't want to move. Pain pulsating through every fiber, he struggled to move. Why won't his body listen to him? Move! Now! Izuku struggles with one arm, attempting to pick him up. Prickles of pain stabs innards. Everything is blurring. The monster steps closer. Nothing is stopping it now.
Just as darkness threatened to consume his consciousness, a familiar voice echoed in his ears, "Do not worry! For I am here!"
In an instant, All Might appeared on the scene, scanning the chaos around him. A collapsed building, burning cars with bodies trapped inside, and a bus reduced to rubble lay in the aftermath. All Might's keen eyes scanned the wreckage. Izuku's fight was amazing, but where was the villain that Izuku had been fighting?
All Might knew this wasn't right. Roaring, collapsed buildings and a sense of danger linger in the air. Yet, despite all the signs, there was no evidence to explain Izuku's dire situation. He needed to focus on Izuku's safety over solving the mystery.
Unable to find any immediate answers, All Might swiftly moved to Izuku's side, carrying him away from the battlefield. The sense of foreboding remained. Something unnerving loomed in the air, a puzzle waiting to be solved.
As he moved away from the wreck, massive footprints marked where Izuku lay, but strangely, they disappeared as if the creature had teleported away. All Might couldn't shake off the feeling that something important had just occurred, and Izuku was lucky to have survived. He's glad Inko called for him.
