Chapter 4 - Happy Birthday, Harry

The next year, in 1985, was a special time

As you see, it was the celebration of Harry's fifth birthday, and everyone was invited to the party, Lily's new friends, Harry's new friends, co-workers, even Lily's boss

Lily had just finished giving Harry a bath and got him dressed and prepared for the biggest party of his life, Harry was excited, because this was the year where he has become another year older

Lily was pleased, she remembered the day Harry said his first word back 1983 and took his first step later in that same year, it was like time was going too fast for her

After Lily finished getting Harry ready, the two of them then walked out of the washroom and to the backyard where the guests were waiting for them

"Surprise!" Everyone shouted as they noticed Harry and Lily coming out of the house, "Happy birthday, Harry!"

Harry was surprised as he looked up at his mother, "Is this all for me, mommy?" He asked, Lily nodded and replied, "Yes, sweetheart, this is all for you, after all, it is your birthday." She then poked Harry's nose playfully as he giggled and hugged his mother, Lily hugged back with honor, the two of them then joined in with everyone at the party

As the party progressed, Lily started to know something a few houses away from the party, a lone shadow of someone staring at her, Lily soon noticed who it was, Voldemort!

But how could it be so? He disappeared after his battle with Snape, but no one had noticed that he knew the secret spell for rebirth, helping him with his plans

Lily was shocked to see Voldemort again that she went to go get someone to help with getting rid of him, but by the time Lily came back with one of her new friends, named Robert, who was carrying a cricket bat to knock out the uninvited intruder, they soon noticed that Voldemort had disappeared again

"Are you sure you weren't seeing things?" Robert said, looking at Lily confused, "I swear, I saw him, he was standing further away from here!" She said, feeling confused and shocked

Lily had a fear for Voldemort ever since the loss of her husband James, she was afraid that Voldemort might take her son, so this was why both she and Harry had been living on the run

Thomas put a hand on Lily's shoulder and said, "Don't worry about it, Lily, it was probably just a shadow" Lily nodded and went back with Thomas to continue with the party

But little did they know was that Voldemort was still spying at them, through a gutter on the side of the street, waiting to strike...

That night, after the party was over, Lily was drying Harry with a grey towel after he had just have his night bath

"How did you like your birthday party, sweetie?" She asked, "It was fun, mommy, did you see me break open that piñata!?" Harry replied in excitement

Lily chuckled and said, "Yes, honey, I saw you doing that, and golly, you really had a lot of ease when you broke that piñata"

"And that magician was so amazing!" Harry said, sounding excited as ever, Lily chuckled and said, "I know you're excited, but please, hold still while I dry you off" "Oh, okay, mommy" Harry said, holding as still as a statue, Lily chuckled, "Thank you, sweetheart" She said, she then continued to dry Harry off

But all she was thinking about was Voldemort, she knew that she have to protect Harry as much as she could, because if there was one person that she loved in this world... it was her son
