Chapter 6 - A Letter From Hogwarts

It has now been a year later, to the year 1986, and Harry is now six years old

Lily was so proud of how her child was growing, but still had worries of letting him go, for he was the only child in her life to remember her late husband James

One day, she was fixing up a picture of her and 3 year old Harry onto her wall when 6 year old Harry arrived to the living room

"Hey, mommy" Harry said, "Oh, hi, sweetie" Lily said, noticing Harry as she finished fixing up the picture, "Mommy, I have a question" Harry then said, "What is it, dear?" Lily asked, turning to her son "Do you miss daddy?" Harry asked

Lily kept smiling, but had a shocked and worried emotion inside her, she knew she hadn't told Harry about James for so long, but now that he asked, she knew she must tell her

She looked at Harry, crouched down to his level, took a deep breath and said, "Yes, honey, I miss him, because he was the most kindest person that I have ever looked up to, what do you ask that anyway?"

"Because... I think I miss him too" Harry replied, Lily smiled tearfully and began to hug her son ever so tightly, but not too tight

Suddenly, something soon slipped through the mail slot on the door, Lily looked, broke from the hug, wrapping a hand around Harry as they both then approached the door, Lily wiped her tears away as they approached the door

The something that slipped through the mail slot... was a letter

Harry was confused, "Who would send this letter, mommy?" Harry asked, Lily shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I'm not quite sure, sweetheart, tell you what, how about you leave this with me? I think it's something that I should look at" Harry nodded, "Okay, mommy" He said as he then went off to his room to do something else

Lily looked at the letter, picked it up and turned it around to see what address is written on the letterWhat Lily saw was the crest to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Lily knew what this crest meant, she had been to that school before, way before Harry was born, that school was where she met James Lily was shocked, she opened the letter and began to see what was written on it

The letter said:

"Dear Mrs. Evans Potter, It has been a few years since I have last saw you at Hogwarts, I remember when you helped Gryffindor win the house cup a long time ago, ah, yes, such a grand memory

But anyway, the reason I write to you now is because of your protection, as you have known, Lord Voldemort has been lurking around the country in search of your child, afraid that he might get close to him, I have decided to not let Snape come close to you, I know it is not fair, but it is for your protection

Please be sure to be in secure of your child, I have a feeling that he might join our school soon

A. Dumbledore"

Lily was shocked at what she just read, she couldn't believe that Snape wasn't allowed to come anywhere near her, she also wasn't keen on sending Harry to Hogwarts, for in fear that he occurred in the same fate that she went through

Lily putted the letter back in the envelope, placed in her kitchen draws and locked it tight, hoping that Harry would never, in her life, read the letter

She now know that she must protect her child even more, whatever the cost...
