Onboard the Turian Dreadnought Pride of Palaven 2 hours before first contact with the UNSA

"Admiral Rix, I am telling you this is a horrible idea. We don't know the capabilities of this new race, not to mention if the batarians are telling the truth." General Victus hadn't even finished reading the Data pad that contained both there current intel on the Primitives and the solar system they inhabit

Rix let out a light laugh before responding "While i don't entirely agree with it myself both the primarch and Councilor Sparatus have given their approval and have sent the 3rd and 17th fleets to reinforce us, and while i don't doubt the Locals will be more dangerous than they are letting on what could they possibly do against over 8000 ships?"

The general let out a huff before responding "I'm sure the Asari thought the same about the Rachni, what if we notified the other council members of this plan?"

"That would only be an option if this order came from just Councilor Sparatus but it doesn't, we may have a duty to the council but our most sacred duty is to the Hierarchy not them." Victus let out one last sigh before getting up from his chair and turning to leave and before he made his way completely out of the room he only said "this won't end well admiral"

Rix sat there not really doing anything for a few minutes before accepting his fate and getting up to make his way to the bridge "how long till the rest of the fleet arrives lieutenant?" the deck officer looked at the admiral then back down at his console before saying

"About 3 minutes till arrival should we destroy the enemy probe now?" Rix thought it over. It would be nice if they didn't know what we were deploying but the second the probe goes dark they will know we are coming "not yet have a frigate destroy it once the reinforcements arrive." the lieutenant nodded before looking back down at his console"

The admiral decided to take his small bit of time to get a better understanding of the system they were attacking. It had signs of habitation all over but most prominently on the red planet and Garden world if he had to guess there would be a lackluster navel response to his invasion but a hell of a fight groundside.

They more likely than not had nuclear weapons which they might deploy if pushed into a corner so he would have to be careful about that. What he was most concerned about was the fight on the ground. Turian soldiers were good but had not seen strategic scale warfare in a millennium and that leaves his troops unready for the….. Realities of war.

"Admiral Rix the fleet has arrived and I have ordered the Talon to destroy the probe we are ready to mobilize on your command." now or never Rix thought to himself "Have them form up with us and begin the attack.'' After a few moments of silence he felt the ship begin to move as shortly after it lurched forward as the relay threw it across space.

"We have contacts just shy of a 100,000k distance 16 ships mostly cruisers and frigates. Is that a Dreadnought?- BY THE SPIRITS they just destroyed 11 ships!" This caught the admiral off guard. He heard they had big guns but that was ridiculous "sir we have nearly 27,000 missile launches!"

"Engage their missiles with Guardian systems and get our Dreadnought within range to engage those ships. I don't want to lose any more ships to their oversized guns!"

In the depth of space a beastly Turian Dreadnought and Flagship of the 3rd fleet moved to engage the Primitives' light dreadnought as ordered only to become the victims of all 4 of its main batteries and those of the 2 cruisers that flanked it. The barrage melted through its kinetic barriers with 1 of the 16 100 kilogram slugs impacting the midsection of the ship. and ripping clean through its entire hull and coming out the other side cutting power throughout the ship not destroying it but certainly disabling it.

By the time the Turian dreadnought had been disabled 8 more ships were destroyed or disabled along with it "Sir we just lost the Dreadnought victory!" "WHAT!"

Before that could even be addressed Another crewman yelled out "the remaining 9 enemy ships just entered FTL there and are heading to the red planet from what we can tell." by the spirits rix fell into his chair not even noticing he had been standing up to begin with. He had just lost 20 ships in exchange for 7 of the enemies not to mention of his casualties was the most expensive thing built by Turian kind "Victus was right" he said to no one in particular

Geneva Earth 2 hours later

The first thing Reyes heard was someone coughing,and not long after talking they kept saying something he couldn't make out but each time it was said with a growing tone of urgency. Then he felt someone shake his arm gently. This was enough for him to start his return to consciousness "Nick, nick can you hear me?!" He opened his eyes. They were a bit blurry but they were clearing up "I'm alright nothing but a ringing head."

He could see where they landed or much rather crashed they had gone clean through a malls sky roof there was a small crowd forming with 2 geneva police officers at its head one staring right at him and the other saying something into his radio "well that was great fun and all,but i'd like to know what is going on"

He heard Raines's voice from back in the cabin "Radio back here is down and something is jamming the Short ranged ones" not long after that was said they could all hear the Thrum of approaching of engines

"I have a feeling that isn't a rescue team, we need out of this thing" Ethan said from the back while walking to the cockpit. He used one hand to signal the crowd to stand back and another to push the damages glass canopy apart shattering it "here's our exit gotta say not the best flying experience, i'll have to book my flight with someone else next time"

"Sure can't argue with that" salter quipped before the sounds of a dropship climaxed hovering over the hole in the roof was a dropship of sorts they had never seen before it lowered a little into the mall he civilians fled into the different shops while the Cops kneeled behind a concrete barrier with their heads over looking at it

"Get out of the fucking Raven and find cover!" reyes shouted not long after they all did with ethan opting to hide behind the concrete pillars of a small shop that was angled from the door of the dropship so that he couldn't be seen by its occupants the ships door opened

8 slightly taller humanoid figures stepped out onto the main floor with helmets that covered their faces. one could say they were simply wearing combat suits as an excuse to there inhuman proportions a 9th soldier stepped out and it certainly didn't have a helmet on "HOLY SHIT" everyone in the room looked to where the 2 geneva Police Officers where one was now standing with his mouth wide open just staring at the Aliens

"Engage!" This extra shout came from a different end of the room down a hallway where 7 Geneva police officers came into sight, most wearing armor and holding SMGs, let loose with a hail of gunfire towards the aliens. In response they returned fire with the unhelmeted one shooting the stunned officer that first saw them square in the forehead. Before turning towards the hall to fire as well

Ethan not one to waste the opportunity lobbed a grenade right in the middle of the aliens formation and began a mad dash towards a concrete barrier that was far closer to them all while shouting "Lightem up!"

The aliens only noticed the explosive when it was far too late. the grenade went off with a deafening boom that made just about everyone but Ethan wince it visibly turned 2 of the creatures in to mangled messes oozing blue blood while another had its leg promptly removed seeing this the remaining ones made a desperate sprint for any cover they could find that cover both directions they were under fire from.

Salter after firing a burst of shots into the head of one sending it unmoving into the floor of the runners yells out "this doesn't happen to be that thing you told me NOT to worry about is it nick?" His lack of a response was an answer in its own right.

One of the aliens trying to throw its own grenade shifted up slightly to do so only for its chest to be riddled with all 30 rounds in Reyes's gun before it could so much as pull the pin. Not more than a few seconds after the police managed to bring one down with concentrated fire from their SMGs with only 4 left in the fight Ethan bounded from cover to cover getting closer each time to the aliens.

One popped up hitting Ethan in the chest with a burst of 3 rounds before the Bot whipped the gun out of its hand and grabbed the alien by its throat not long after a sickening crunch could be heard as it was listed up and thrown at its comrades like it weighed nothing. That other 3 that were still alive turned to face Ethan who promptly fired all the bullets left in his side arm into the Unhelmeted ones face.

The bot then tackled the next closest one and punched its face 3 times although no one could see the results. The sounds spoke for the damage done. Only one was left; it turned its gun on Ethan, only for the bot to make it across the gap between them in an instant, grabbing its own gun and turning it onto the alien holding the trigger down for a good 6 or 7 seconds.

The room fell silent for a moment as Ethan dropped the gun and everyone began to exit their positions. Nick was the first to speak "born to kill huh" he let out a single laugh "bit of an understatement there Ethan"

"Well sir i like to please" everyone stood in silence again for a moment this time Salter broke it "where is the nearest fortified positions in the city from here?"

Ethan seemed to contemplate for a moment "from here, Probably the AATIS tower" Raines was quick to respond "we need to make our way there if enemy forces are flying in this close they have air superiority or just more craft than we can shoot down. it wont take them long to figure out what that tower is, we have to secure it."

"It's a plan then" Reyes finish before waving over the surviving members of the Geneva Police tactical team

Norfolk Virginia, United states

"As you can see behind me the units from the United States 23rd Ranger regiment appear to have taken defensive positions across the city and with huge communication blackouts across the world many have been left wondering as to what is going on and if the Settlement defense front ha-" the reporter on the screen stopped talking and pointed to something behind "hey turn the camera around what is that?" the camera panned around to see dozens if not hundreds of small crafts descending through the clouds "we have what appear to be dropships entering the atmosphere an-" he was cut off by 2 Jackals and a skelter flying past at high speed to intercept the unknowns crafts "uhh to those watching i might be mistaken but was that SDF and SATO aircraft flying… together?"

Alpha Centauri Prime

The crowd around the TV was only growing as the News got more and more dire "Russian military forces are coordinating with the Finnish army in an attempt to hold St. Petersburg, as Chinese and UNSA air forces engage the aliens in the skies over Beijing we are also receiving unconfirmed reports of Settlement defense front forces fighting alongside UNSA and European forces." the news anchor put his hand to his ear clearly being talked to through the earpiece "this just in folks the UNSA Moscow has been confirmed to have destroyed nearly 40 alien ships in the orbit above Norfolk Virginia via the deployment of a nuclear warhead!"

Olympus mons bunker complex, Mars

"All forces we have a breach in D6 I say again we have a, SON OF A- " the transmission was cut short by the sound of gunfire "you hear that Kessler? I think I know where we're going next!' the 12 man group supported by 7 Combat bots all broke into a brisk jog towards their destination though the Red sands of Mars which was littered with uncountable corpses, most of which weren't human

Onboard The Pride of Palaven

"THIS IS INSANE WE NEED TO WITHDRAW" Admiral Rix couldn't believe this shit he was first confronted with horrific Naval losses then the enemy's orbital defense grid crippled his landing forces before they even hit the ground. And spirits protect his ground forces that did make it planet side because they were not simply repelled they were ANNIHILATED.

Then to top all of that off, a discovery that should be outright impossible was made: they were not fighting unknown aliens, they were fighting humans. "Councilor Sparatus, listen to me these are HUMANS genetically identical and even if they weren't this is no primitive race. They are wiping the floor with us. The only reason we are winning is numbers and that won't last much longer!"

"Admiral, you are addressing a member of the citadel council. You will speak to me with respect." His tone which was clear regardless of the poor connection was that of disciplining a child. Rix was sick at the thought that the Councilors biggest current priority was respect "Councillor, you must listen, we will lose the battle for this system if we don't at least get reinforcements!." Rix regretted saying that the moment it left his mouth "NOT that we should continue, we must leave and establish contact properly throwing away 3 battle fleets will achieve nothing!"

Councilor Sparatus seemed to think for a moment before coming to some sort of decision "Admiral Rix, I will send you 4 more battle fleets and to prevent this incident from getting completely out of our control we must…. Target large population centers on both planets and destroy one on each world every 2 hours till they surrender"

And with that the connection was terminated Rix was silent

Tokyo Japan

"As you can see behind us the city is being evacuated as it most like will not remain uncontested for much longer its AATIS network while strong is unable to hold the enemy back for-" the camera shook violently as screaming could heard through the screen after a moment of the camera remaining still some one seemed to pick it backup and center it on Tokyo only for most of it to be gone annihilated with fires of large size all over people jumping from building into the water to escape them

"my god the aliens they just….. They have destroyed one of the largest cities on earth"

Washington D.C US presidential bunker

The room was dead silent upon receiving confirmation of the attack before air force colonel spoke "Mr. President, we can confirm the use of weapons of mass destruction in Tokyo and the District 19 hab zone on Mars around 15 millions casualties each, what…. What do we do?"

"What the UNSA pansies are too Scared to do, as of now we are DEFCON 1, give the Air Force, Navy and Army 1 hour to pick targets in space for maximum fleet casualties to the aliens"

The president seemed to think for a moment "And the alien Forward base in the Sahara, i want it turned to glass as well, and when all that is done get me a line to mars let's see if there willing to send some of there Nuke corvettes through that portal near Pluto"

UNSA Flagship Moscow 21 hours after first contact

"Sir say what you need to say the Americans aren't going to wait much longer" he was addressing admiral Karnes who had just boarded the Battlecruiser "understood captain" Karnes made his in front of the camera and readjusted his uniform best he could. And after a moment of composting himself he began

"People of the UNSA today, today is a day that will be forever remembered in the annals of history. Today at 11:53 AM Standard time the now identified Turian Hierarchy launched a sudden, deliberate and unprovoked attack on Earth."

"Even now we do not know truly why, but after fighting though the Settlement defense fronts fleet in the outer reaches of Sol, they deployed millions of soldiers onto earth and mars and in the face of mankind's armies fighting to protect their homes they faltered, wiped out almost to the man."

"On Earth the combined Army's of all the Nations of earth and the UNSA butchered their forces wherever they went pushing them off world, On Mars the most brutal form of warfare ever before seen was unleashed upon them. The SDF crushed their forces with such brutality the aliens surrendered on masse , not knowing of course the defense fronts policy with prisoners."

"And in the face of defeat they chose to turn cities full of people into craters and embark on a war not of conquest, but of extermination.", "and soon the largest fleet ever assembled will take the fight to them, we have hacked into one of there so called "dreadnoughts" and learned almost everything about them"

"Including the locations of there worlds" he paused for a moment to build up the tension "and with that knowledge at hand the surviving members of the UNSA council and High command have Unanimously elected to-"

Onboard The Pride of Palaven

"To Declare War on the Turian Hierarchy and all those that would defend it, and for each city we lost they, they will lose a world to nuclear fire"

The entire Bridge was silent after the video stopped playing before anyone could so much as register what had just happened "Admiral the primit- i mean humans they….. By the Spirits they just Nuked the FOB in their central desert."

Rix could only respond in a small and weak voice "how many did we lose?" he click his terminal a few time before answering "107,000 dead likely 2 time that amount injured sir"

"Before he had even begun to process that, alarms began to blare as the crew scrambled to their battle stations ``OH FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPIRITS WHAT NOW?" The same crewman as before spoke up yet again "sir we have 15,000 missiles almost all having been launched almost entirely from the continent of North America, with radiation detected in all of them.'

He himself did not seem to fully understand what that meant for a moment after his eyes went wide wide he bagan typing furiously on his console for a moment, only to stop or more than 8 seconds later looking up with pure Fear in his eyes "admiral there's too many moving to fast we can't stop even 1/4th of them"

Understanding what that meant Rix leaned back into his chair trying to imagine his bandmates face once last time and the last thing was a bright blinding flash encompassing everything.

And then his world went dark

(StefanAN) i think you will like the next chapter which will explore some of the equipment being in infinite warfare being used against some poor Turians. and the story as of right now takes place about a half year after Shepard's death
