Chapter 12
Percy woke up with a start. He was breathing heavily and had beads of sweat on his forehead.
The sun filled the room with its light. "What time is it?" he thought. He glanced at clock, which showed it was 5 a.m. Then, he noticed Harry was awake as well.
Harry still hasn't noticed that he was awake. Percy saw him packing, making sure everything was okay. He had put his jeans on, even though it was dawn. "Right, Hedwig" Harry muttered to himself. Hedwig was an owl that Hagrid bought for him. When Harry turned around, he found Percy was awake. "Goodmorning Percy" he said cheerfully. "He looks so excited" Percy thought. "Good morning" Percy said, returning a smile.
"You awake?" Annabeth asked. Percy was startled. He didnt know she was awake. "You were awake, too?" he asked in amazement. "Yeah. Just reading our school books" she answered. Percy tilted his head, confused. "But we are dyslexic. How are you reading that?" he asked. "I do not know. I just-" Annabeth put her book down. "-can read it. Maybe its because there are no gods here?" she wondered.
"Anyways" Harry interrupted. "Lets go to Kings Cross. I want to be early as possible"
They were at Kings Cross. They had to persuade Harry to wait. "Our train leaves at 11 a.m" Annabeth groaned. Still, Harry kept begging them to leave early.
"Platform nine and three-quarters" Harry breathed. "But-" Annabeth sighed. "-where is it?".
They couldnt find that platform anywhere. They even asked security about it, but when they mentioned the platform number, the security side eyed them before shooing them away.
They all sat down on bench, defeated.
"Packed with Muggles of course-"
Harry's eyes widened. He looked at Annabeth and asked, "Did you hear that?". Annabeth nodded. Percy got up quickly. "Better ask them, right?" he said before running after them with his trunk.
Three walked behind those red headed people, nudging each other, mouthing "You ask!". In the end, they managed to convince Harry to ask. "Excuse me?" Harry said in small voice. The red headed woman turned back, smiling warmly.
"Hello, there. Hogwarts as well?"
"Um, yes, can you tell us where-"
"Platform three and quarter is? You just have to run into the wall over there"
Percy blinked. Was this woman okay?
Just as je was about to question it, one red headed boy ran into the wall and... vanished.
Red headed woman smiled warmly. "You can run if you are feeling nervous. Just make sure no Muggles see ya"
Percy took a deep breath and looked at the other two. They all looked at each other for reassurance and ran into the wall. Percy ran towards it, closing his eyes as he prepared for the crash... that didnt come. Percy opened jis eyes and saw that he was in front of a huge train, also a board saying "Platform three and quarters". Percy looked around to see Annabeth in daze as well. She seemed to be interested in the architecture of the platform. Percy couldnt blame her. The platforms ceiling was beautifully craved and pillars held similarity.
They all managed to get their trunk into the trains trunk space. Harry wouldnt stop looking at it, wondering how did that small space contained all those students baggage.
As they found a compartment, a red headed boy from earlier peeked in.
"Um, mind if i sit here? Everyone else is full"
All three of them nodded and watched as je sat across them. He cleared his throat.
"My name is Ronald Weasley. We met earlier"
"My name is Harry Potter" Harry introduced himself. Ronalds jaw dropped. "Potter? Famous Harry Potter?"
Percy arched his eyebrow. "Yeah, he is Harry Potter. How do you know about him?"
Ronald blinked. "EVERYONE knows who Harry Potter is. He is the one who defeated You-know-who when he was an infant!"
"Voldemort?" Harry asked without thinking too much. Ronald looked like he was about to have seizure.
"Um, are you okay?" Annabeth asked. Ronald seemed to have another heart attack as he saw her. "Veela?"
"Is that supposed to be an insult?"
Ronald shook his head violently before looking back at Harry. "You said You-know-who's name!"
Herry sighed. "Look, i only found out im wizard recently. I dont know much about all those stuff. i dont even remember what happened when i was a baby. i just remember a lot of green light"
"You really remember nothing?"
"Yes" Harry admitted.
A moment of silence.
"I am sorry...Freaking out when you are just a boy like me..." Ronald mattered. "Its fine" Harry smiled. Ronald opened his mouth but he was cut off by cart woman.
"Want anything off cart, dears?"
Harry stood up instantly while Ronald muttered something about having something he brought. Harry walked out and came back with a bunch of sweets that Percy couldnt recognize.
"Hungry, are you?" Ronald asked, eyeing them hungrily.
"Starving" Harry answered before taking a bite from his pastry. Ronald brought out dried looking sandwich. "She always forgets i dont like beef..."
"Come on, swap" Harry held out his pastry for him. Ronald hesitated before accepting it reluctantly. Annabeth and Percy shared a smile.
They had a nice time, talking about Chocolate Frogs and other candies until they arrived at the Hogwarts. When they realized they ahve arrived, Percy frantically pulled his robe on with everyone else.
After they were off the train, they were greeted with Hagrid. He guided them through spooky looking lake. Percy's journey was quite fine until he saw black winged horses pulling chariots across the river. He nudged Annabeth.
"Can... can you see them as well?"
Annabeth looked at the direction he pointed and her expression darkened.
"Yes"
