A/N
Hello everyone,
I've had these chapters saved for some time, but due to notifications issues and my dissatisfaction with the story's progression, I started rewriting a lot of it. This led to an even bigger challenge as now I'm over 100k words into drafts, and the story has changed significantly.
I will be updating weekly again with some shorter chapters until I get back into form.
Please enjoy reading this chapter.
Chapter 8 - Spider-Verse Part 1
Naruto trudged through the streets, his heart heavy with the weight of his shattered relationship with MJ, he stumbled upon a scene that stopped him in his tracks.
There, amidst a gathering crowd, stood an older version of Mary Jane, her voice filled with emotion as she spoke of Peter Parker's heroic sacrifice. Her words painted a vivid picture of a man who had given everything to protect the city he loved, a man who had made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good.
Naruto couldn't deny the pang of jealousy that twisted in his gut as he listened to MJ's words, her admiration for Peter evident in every syllable. And yet, despite the turmoil raging within him, he couldn't help but notice how strikingly beautiful she looked in that moment, her grief lending her an air of vulnerability that tugged at his heartstrings.
But beneath the surface, Naruto's own emotions churned, his heart torn between longing and anguish as he grappled with the painful reality of their broken relationship. Seeing MJ again, hearing her praise another man, only served to reopen the wounds that had yet to heal.
With a heavy sigh, Naruto tore his gaze away from the scene unfolding before him, his footsteps carrying him away from the tumultuous emotions threatening to overwhelm him. He knew that he couldn't dwell on the past, that he had to find a way to move forward, even if it meant facing the pain head-on.
And so, with each step he took, Naruto vowed to find the strength to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart and forge a new path forward, one step at a time.
Naruto swung through the unfamiliar streets of this alternate New York; a sense of disorientation washed over him. The cityscape seemed both familiar and alien, the snowy night adding an eerie ambiance to the scene. With each graceful arc of his web-swinging, he couldn't shake the feeling of being a stranger in his own hometown.
Amidst the falling snowflakes, snippets of conversations reached Naruto's ears — snippets that spoke of a legendary figure, a hero who had once patrolled these very streets. "Spider-Man," they called him, a name that resonated with reverence and admiration.
Listening to the tales of this world's Spider-Man, Naruto couldn't help but feel a pang of bittersweet nostalgia. The stories echoed with echoes of his own experiences, the battles fought, and the lives saved. Yet, there was a profound sense of loss knowing that in this reality, it wasn't him wearing the mask, but another.
As he swung from building to building, Naruto couldn't escape the haunting realization that in this world, Peter Parker was the one who had donned the mantle of Spider-Man. His heart weighed heavy with the knowledge that his friend's heroic legacy lived on, even in a reality where he no longer existed.
Naruto stood amidst the unfamiliar streets of this alternate New York, his mind racing with questions and uncertainties. The revelation of Peter Parker's demise weighed heavily on him, adding an extra layer of urgency to his quest for answers. With each passing moment, the need to understand this strange new reality grew more pressing.
As he swung through the city, Naruto's thoughts kept drifting back to his own world, to the familiar streets and landmarks he called home. The idea began as a flicker of curiosity, a nagging desire to see if his own life existed in this parallel universe. What would he find at his house? Would it be a mirror image of the home he knew, or would it hold some clue to his presence in this world?
Driven by a mix of curiosity and apprehension, Naruto changed course, swinging toward his house with a sense of determination. With each web-slinging leap, he pushed himself closer to the truth, his heart pounding with anticipation as he neared the familiar streets of his own neighbourhood.
Finally, he arrived at his destination, landing gracefully on the pavement outside his house. For a moment, he simply stood there, taking in the sight of the familiar facade, the memories of his life here flooding back with each passing second. But as he approached the front door, a sense of unease crept over him, a nagging doubt that things might not be as they seemed. Despite the uncertainty, Naruto pushed open the door, steeling himself for whatever lay beyond.
Naruto's heart sank as he stepped into the familiar threshold of his home, only to be met with the startled gazes of strangers. Their eyes widened in alarm, their voices rising in startled exclamations at the sight of the man before them, clad in a costume reminiscent of their fallen hero.
"Hey, hey, sorry, I'm so sorry," Naruto stammered, his words tumbling out in a rush as he realized his mistake. "I thought... Oh, man..."
Feeling a surge of embarrassment and discomfort, Naruto turned on his heel and bolted from the house, his movements fuelled by a potent mix of adrenaline and the need to escape the awkward encounter. With a powerful leap, he launched himself into the night sky, the cool breeze whipping past him as he soared through the air.
Perched in the branches of a nearby tree, Naruto cast a solemn gaze upon the familiar sight of Peter Parker's house. The steps leading to the front door were adorned with a colourful array of flowers and Spider-Man toys, a poignant tribute to the fallen hero. Through the window, Naruto caught a glimpse of Aunt May, her silhouette etched against the soft glow of the interior lights.
A heavy weight settled in Naruto's chest as he realized the depth of loss that permeated this world, a loss that mirrored the emptiness he felt within himself. With a resigned sigh, he turned away from the house, knowing that it held no solace for him in this unfamiliar reality.
Instead, Naruto found himself drawn to the one place where he could seek a connection to the person he once knew. With determined steps, he made his way to the solemn grounds of Peter's grave, the final resting place of the hero who had once been known as Spider-Man.
Perched on the rooftop, Naruto observed the scene unfolding below with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. Down at Peter's grave, a young boy, no more than two or three years younger than himself, stood dressed in a Spider-Man Halloween suit. Despite the sombre atmosphere of the cemetery, the boy's attire brought a faint smile to Naruto's lips.
From his vantage point, Naruto couldn't quite make out the boy's words, but he could sense the reverence and admiration in his gestures. With a gentle laugh, Naruto found himself strangely touched by the sight of this young fan paying tribute to the fallen hero.
As the boy lingered by the graveside, Naruto felt a pang of nostalgia wash over him, reminding him of his own childhood dreams of becoming a hero. In that moment, he saw a reflection of his own journey in the earnest devotion of the young boy before him.
As Naruto observed from the rooftop, the scene below unfolded with an unexpected twist. A man approached the boy, seemingly to offer comfort or guidance. However, as their hands made contact, a sudden surge of electricity crackled through the air. The boy cried out in shock, and the man collapsed to the ground shooting a web at the boy before being, rendered unconscious by the unexpected jolt.
Startled by the turn of events, Naruto wasted no time in leaping from the rooftop to intervene. Naruto landed next to the young boy and the unconscious man, he couldn't help but feel a surge of curiosity and disbelief at the scene before him. The boy startled at Naruto's sudden appearance, his eyes widening in surprise.
"Ah..." The boy's voice trailed off, his gaze fixed on Naruto's masked face. For a moment, silence hung between them, broken only by the faint sound of the city below. Naruto couldn't shake the feeling of déjà vu as their gazes locked, a strange sense of connection stirring within him, as his spider senses went haywire.
Sensing the significance of the moment, Naruto spoke softly, his voice tinged with wonder and recognition. "You're just like me," he murmured, his eyes meeting the boys with a mix of astonishment and curiosity.
The boy expressed his reluctance to embrace his newfound similarity to Naruto, the masked hero couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy. "Why not?" Naruto countered, his voice laced with genuine curiosity and a hint of enthusiasm. "Being Spider-Man is awesome."
Before the boy could formulate a response, the arrival of the police shattered the moment. Their authoritative commands pierced the night air, demanding that Naruto and the boy raise their hands and step away from the fallen man.
"Don't worry, I'll handle this," Naruto told the boy. With a resigned shake of his head, Naruto watched as the boy took matters into his own hands, quite literally, dragging the unconscious man through the snow. Despite Naruto's offer to handle the situation, the boy seemed determined to resolve it his own way. Chuckling at the unexpected turn of events, Naruto muttered, "That's one way to do it."
As the boy swiftly utilized, web shooters to attach the man to a passing train, Naruto couldn't help but admire the unconventional approach. "Well, guess I better run too," he quipped to the approaching police officers before darting off in pursuit of the duo, ready to lend a hand in this unexpected adventure.
Amidst the chaotic chase through the bustling city streets, Naruto found himself chuckling at the bizarre spectacle unfolding before him. With each jolt of consciousness, the man would awaken only to be swiftly knocked back into unconsciousness by the boy's extraordinary abilities.
Recognizing that the situation was spiralling out of control, Naruto swung into action, deftly intercepting the pair and whisking them away to the relative safety of a nearby rooftop. Landing gracefully, he set them down gently, a hint of amusement still lingering in his voice as he addressed them. "Alright, let's calm down a bit, shall we?"
With a cautious yet curious gaze, the boy regarded Naruto as he removed his mask, revealing his face and extending a hand in introduction. "Names, Naruto Uzumaki," he began, "I'm Spider-Man from another dimension."
The boy's eyes widened in surprise, but a smile soon spread across his face. "I'm Miles," he replied, his tone tinged with a hint of excitement. He glanced at Naruto's suit with admiration. "That's a cool suit you've got there."
Naruto grinned in response, a glint of camaraderie sparking between them. "Thanks, kid," he said, nodding appreciatively. "But yours could use some work."
laughter filled the air, Naruto leaned in, a sense of camaraderie growing between them. "Got anywhere we could go?" he asked, glancing around the cityscape.
Miles thought for a moment before his face brightened with an idea. "My uncle's place," he suggested eagerly. "He's out of town, so we'll have the whole place to ourselves."
Naruto nodded in agreement, impressed by Miles' resourcefulness. "Lead the way," he said with a grin.
Miles and Naruto arrived at Miles' uncle's house, they wasted no time in securing the captured man. With practiced efficiency, they bound him tightly to a punching bag, ensuring that he wouldn't be able to escape.
As Naruto glanced at their captive, a sense of familiarity washed over him, his senses tingling with recognition. There was something about this man, something that felt eerily familiar, like a distant echo from his past.
And then it hit him like a bolt of lightning this man bore a striking resemblance to an older version of Peter Parker, the legendary Spider-Man whose heroic sacrifice had left a city in mourning.
Naruto's mind raced with possibilities, his thoughts spinning as he tried to make sense of the connection. Could this man be another version of Peter Parker, from a different time or universe? Or was there something else at play, something far more sinister than he could have imagined?
With a furrowed brow, Naruto turned to Miles, his expression grave. "We need to find out who this man is and what he's doing here," he said, his voice filled with determination. "There's more to this than meets the eye, and we need to get to the bottom of it before it's too late."
As the man began to stir, Naruto and Miles exchanged a knowing glance before Naruto swiftly donned his mask, his senses on high alert as they prepared to confront their captive.
Before they could even utter a word, the man's eyes widened in recognition as he took in the sight of the masked duo before him. "You're Spider-Man," he exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "But... who's the kid?"
Naruto and Miles shared a knowing smile before Naruto spoke up, his voice muffled by the mask. "This is Miles Morales," he replied, his tone calm yet firm. "And yes, we know you're from another dimension."
The man's eyes widened in surprise as he processed their words, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features. "You... you believe me?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
Naruto nodded, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "It's not every day we meet someone who looks like an older version of Spider-Man. So, Peter Parker?" he remarked, his amusement evident in his tone.
But before Peter could say anything else, Naruto cut him off with a pointed question of his own. "How old are you?" he asked, his brow furrowed with curiosity.
The question caught Peter off guard, "I'm 38," He replied, Naruto couldn't help but burst into laughter at the absurdity of the situation. "Wow," he chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "You're 38? That's... unexpected."
Peter's expression shifted from confusion to annoyance as he bristled at Naruto's laughter. "And who even are you?" he demanded; his frustration evident in his voice.
With a mischievous grin, Naruto reached up and removed his mask, revealing his face to the man. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki," he replied, his tone laced with humor.
The man's eyes widened in surprise as he took in Naruto's face, a hint of recognition flashing in his eyes. "Oh great, a fishcake," he muttered under his breath, causing Miles to burst into laughter and Naruto to pause, his own amusement momentarily overshadowed by confusion.
Peter B Parker, or the man who claimed to be him, began to stir, Naruto couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him. Under his breath, he muttered, "It means Maelstrom," Naruto said.
Miles went on to explain his mission to Naruto and peter, his tone grew solemn. "I was given a passkey to use and destroy the collider," he confessed, a sense of determination shining in his eyes.
But before Miles could continue, Peter managed to break free and swiftly webbed the passkey from him. With a determined stride, Peter made his way to the window.
"Peter, where are you going?" Naruto voice was tinged with concern as he watched Peter make his way to the window.
"Home," Peter replied curtly, his gaze fixed ahead.
"But aren't you going to help him?" Naruto asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
Peter paused for a moment before responding, "No, he's on his own."
Miles' shoulders sagged, a look of disappointment crossing his face. "Would Spider-Man really do that?" he questioned softly.
Naruto shook his head. "No, Spider-Man doesn't do that," he declared firmly, determination gleaming in his eyes as he followed Peter out the window.
As they walked down the wall, the gravity defying sensation all too familiar to them now, Naruto and Peter engaged in a conversation about the essence of being Spider-Man. "It's Spider-Man's job to help people," Naruto asserted, his voice tinged with a sense of duty and responsibility that echoed Peter's own beliefs.
Before they could delve deeper into their discussion, a sudden disturbance rocked their surroundings. Naruto felt a strange sensation coursing through his body, a disorienting feeling that seemed to tear at the very fabric of his being.
In an instant, their bodies began to disintegrate, their molecules destabilizing as they fell to the floor in a state of shock and confusion. Naruto and Peter exchanged a bewildered glance as they surveyed the scene before them, their passkey, the key to their return home, was broken already.
Peter's accusatory gaze fell upon Miles, who stood nearby with a nervous laugh, attempting to explain his inadvertent role in the passkey's destruction. Naruto couldn't help but feel a twinge of frustration at the turn of events, their chances of returning home now hanging by a thread.
Despite the setback, Naruto remained resolute, his determination unwavering even in the face of adversity. With a shared glance of determination, he and Peter picked themselves up from the floor, ready to confront whatever challenges lay ahead in their quest to find a way back home.
Under Miles' earnest plea and determination, Peter found themselves reluctantly agreeing to train him to become the next Spider-Man. With a shared sense of responsibility, they set aside their differences and focused on the task at hand: rebuilding the passkey and saving Brooklyn from the impending crisis.
After changing into their normal clothes, Naruto, Miles, and Peter ventured out to a local burger place, the aroma of sizzling patties wafting through the air. As Peter eagerly dug into his burger, Naruto and Miles exchanged uncomfortable glances, their lack of enthusiasm for burgers evident.
"You sure you won't eat, Naruto?" Peter asked between bites, his mouth full of food.
Naruto shrugged, a small grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "Not really into burgers. I prefer ramen," he admitted, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
As they finished their meal, Peter leaned back in his seat with a satisfied sigh. "You know, this world's Spider-Man would have stolen that burger recipe from Alchemax and downloaded it all onto the goober," he remarked, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
Naruto chuckled at Peter's joke, the camaraderie between them easing the tension that had lingered in the air. Despite the uncertainty of their situation, they found solace in each other's company, united in their shared quest to navigate this strange new world together.
With a shared sense of determination, Naruto, Miles, and Peter agreed to steal the information from Alchemax. As they discussed their plan, Naruto couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with his newfound friends.
"Its fun being with people like me," Naruto remarked, a smile playing on his lips as he glanced between Miles and Peter.
Miles grinned back; his excitement palpable. "Should we swing there?" he asked eagerly.
Peter shook his head, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Even better," he replied cryptically.
Soon enough, the three of them found themselves seated on a bus headed towards the Alchemax Campus in Hudson Valley. As the bus rumbled along the road, Naruto felt a surge of anticipation coursing through him. Whatever challenges lay ahead, he knew that with Miles and Peter by his side, they could overcome anything.
Once outside Alchemax's facility, the snow falling from the sky as the trio geared up for their mission. The cold air carried the scent of impending snowfall, adding a crispness to their breaths that hung like mist in the darkness. Naruto, Peter, and Miles stood together, each in their own version of Spider-Man attire, a motley crew of heroes from different dimensions.
Naruto tightened the straps on his web-shooters, glancing over at Miles, who was adjusting his Spider-Man Halloween costume. The sight of the cape fluttering behind Miles made Naruto raise an eyebrow in amusement.
"Why do you have a cape?" Naruto asked, barely hiding his grin.
Miles stood tall, his eyes shining with pride. "Capes are cool."
Peter, looking slightly disheveled in his mismatched Spider-Man suit and sweatpants, shook his head. "No capes," he said firmly, echoing a sentiment from another hero from another universe.
Naruto chuckled, shaking his head. "Is everyone here either a newbie or an old-timer?"
Peter and Miles both shot him a look, their simultaneous outcry making Naruto laugh. "Hey!"
"It was a joke! It was a joke!" Naruto raised his hands in mock surrender. He then pulled on his own mask, his demeanor shifting to one of focus and determination. "Alright, let's go over the plan. Peter and I will sneak inside. Miles, you keep watch."
Peter, putting his own mask on nodded his head, "Don't forget the bagel."
Naruto confused for a moment just nods his head, "Right, we grab a bagel as well."
Miles's face fell, disappointment clouding his features. "How will I learn if I'm missing all the experience?"
Naruto placed a reassuring hand on Miles's shoulder, his voice softening. "It's important. Anyone could come. Trust me." He extended his fist towards Miles. "Your time will come."
Miles hesitated, his eyes searching Naruto's for reassurance before he finally fist-bumped him. "Yeah, hopefully."
Peter stepped forward, glancing at the facility's imposing structure. "Remember, we're looking for anything related to the collider and the passkey. We need to get in, get the information, and get out without raising alarms."
Naruto nodded, his eyes scanning the perimeter for potential entry points. "Got it. Stealth mode."
The three of them moved towards the facility, Naruto and Peter taking the lead while Miles found a vantage point to keep an eye on their surroundings. Naruto could feel the weight of the mission pressing down on him. They were not just fighting for their own survival but for the stability of multiple dimensions.
Naruto and Peter approached the side of the building, using their web-shooters to scale the wall silently. The cold metal of the building felt slick under their fingers as they ascended, their movements synchronized with practiced ease. Once they reached an air vent near the top, Peter began unscrewing the grate while Naruto kept watch.
Inside the vent, the air was stale and metallic, the narrow passage forcing them to move single file. They navigated through the labyrinthine ducts, listening for any signs of guards or alarms. As they crawled, Naruto couldn't help but think of Miles waiting outside, eager to prove himself.
After several tense minutes, they found a grate overlooking a dimly lit laboratory filled with high-tech equipment. Peter signalled for Naruto to stay put as he quietly removed the grate and dropped into the room below. Naruto followed, landing softly beside Peter. They moved quickly but cautiously, searching the room for any data on the collider.
Meanwhile, outside, Miles kept his vigil, eyes darting around for any sign of trouble. He felt a pang of frustration at being left out of the action, but Naruto's words echoed in his mind. He had to trust in the plan and wait for his moment.
The roar of a black car pulling up beside him. The sleek vehicle came to a halt, and out stepped the imposing figure of Wilson Fisk. Miles' heart skipped a beat, worry etched on his face. He quickly decided he had to warn Naruto and Peter, and without a second thought, he headed inside the building himself.
Back inside, Naruto and Peter found a terminal and began downloading the data onto a flash drive. The screen flickered with lines of code as the download progressed. Peter glanced at Naruto. "This is going to take a few minutes. Keep an eye out."
Naruto nodded, scanning the room for any signs of movement. His senses were on high alert, every shadow and flicker of light putting him on edge. The tension was palpable, each second feeling like an eternity.
The cold, sterile environment hummed with the low buzz of machinery and the occasional clatter of equipment. Suddenly, Naruto's heightened senses picked up the sound of footsteps approaching. Both heroes tensed, ready for anything.
Turning a corner, they found themselves face to face with a woman in a lab coat Olivia Octavius. Instinctively, Naruto leaped to the ceiling, sticking to the shadows while Peter stepped forward, attempting to charm her.
"Hello, Miss Octavius," Peter said with a disarming smile as he looked at her name tag, "Fancy seeing you here."
Olivia's eyes narrowed with suspicion but then relaxed into a faux smile. "Why, hello there. And who might you be under that mask?" she asked, her voice dripping with curiosity. Before Peter could respond, she moved with surprising speed, shoving him into a nearby chair. With a swift, practiced motion, she yanked off his mask.
"That's a no-no," Peter quipped, trying to maintain his composure. But Olivia was already running tests, her eyes gleaming with scientific fervor.
"Fascinating," she murmured, studying the data on her screen. "It appears you'll die from cellular decay if you remain in our dimension for too long."
As Olivia conducted her tests, Naruto's senses sharpened. He felt another presence in the room, one that was somehow... familiar. "Miles?" he whispered, his voice barely audible. "What are you doing here? How are you invisible?"
Miles, who had managed to sneak in and cloak himself, whispered back, "We have to hurry. Kingpin is here."
Naruto nodded, his eyes darting back to Olivia. "Finish the download," he instructed Miles. "I'll handle this."
Naruto dropped silently from the ceiling, landing with a soft thud. "Hello, nice to meet you, Miss Octavius."
Olivia's head snapped up, and she smiled a cold, calculating expression. "Wow, there's even more of you. How delightful." With a flourish, she revealed her identity as this dimension's Doctor Octopus, mechanical arms unfurling from her back with a menacing hiss.
Before either Peter or Naruto could react, the fight was on. Olivia's mechanical limbs lashed out with incredible speed, forcing them to dodge and weave through the laboratory. Equipment shattered, sparks flew, and alarms blared as the battle raged on.
Miles, focused and determined, completed the download amid the chaos. "Got it!" he shouted.
"Run!" Naruto and Peter yelled in unison.
Miles bolted towards the exit, the downloaded data clutched tightly in his hand. Peter and Naruto fought valiantly, but they knew they couldn't hold off Olivia forever. They needed to escape, and quickly.
As they retreated through the maze-like corridors, Olivia's mechanical arms lashed out, tearing through walls and machinery. "You can't escape me!" she screeched, her voice echoing through the facility.
Naruto and Peter exchanged a glance. "We've got to lead her away from Miles," Peter said, panting heavily.
Naruto nodded. "Agreed. You take the left, I'll go right."
Splitting up, they led Olivia on a wild chase through the laboratory, their agility and quick thinking keeping them one step ahead. But Olivia was relentless, her mechanical limbs smashing everything in their path.
Miles, meanwhile, raced through the corridors, his heart pounding in his chest. He had to get the data out and find a way to stop the collider. He could hear the distant sounds of battle behind him, urging him to move faster, as he bumped into a female worker, knocking her down. Miles quickly says sorry as he runs away.
Naruto and Peter regrouped at an intersection, their breaths coming in ragged gasps. "We can't keep this up much longer," Peter said, wincing as he clutched his side.
"Then let's end this," Naruto replied, determination blazing in his eyes. "Together."
With a final burst of energy, they launched a coordinated attack on Olivia, their combined strength and skills pushing her back. As they fought, they maneuvered her towards a containment area, hoping to trap her long enough to make their escape.
Just as they were about to spring their trap, a massive explosion rocked the facility. The walls trembled, and the lights flickered. For a moment, everything was chaos.
Naruto and Peter used the distraction to their advantage, delivering a powerful blow that sent Olivia crashing into a reinforced containment unit. The doors slammed shut, and the locks engaged.
Breathing heavily, Naruto and Peter took a moment to catch their breath. "That should hold her for a while," Peter said, wiping sweat from his brow.
"Let's get out of here," Naruto replied.
The three of them ended up in the Alchemax cafeteria, drawing the bewildered stares of office workers. Peter, ever the quick thinker, grabbed a bagel and urged, "Just act cool."
Naruto couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his head. The office workers began to murmur, "It's Spider-Man!" Naruto chimed in, "It's Spider-Men!" with a laugh. Peter handed Miles one of his web shooters, saying, "It's time to learn, kid."
As they bolted for the exit, one of the workers shouted, "He took a bagel!" Naruto led the way, leaping off the building and into the nearby forest. Peter followed effortlessly, but Miles struggled, it being his first real attempt at web-swinging.
Peter and Naruto tried to guide him, but Miles lost his grip, plummeting to the ground and resorting to running on foot. Naruto slowed down to fend off their pursuers, engaging in a swift battle with the office workers. In the midst of the chaos, Olivia Octavius arrived, her mechanical limbs cutting through trees like they were nothing.
"Be fast, Miles!" Peter shouted as he swung ahead. Miles, determined, climbed a tree, reaching higher and higher until he finally managed to connect his web to a sturdy branch and started swinging. Peter pulled up beside him, grinning. "Great job!"
Naruto swung back, giving Miles an encouraging grin. "See? It's easy, right?"
But before they could celebrate, their bodies began to disintegrate, their molecules destabilizing from the dimension jump. They fell to the ground, unable to move as Olivia Octavius closed in on them.
"Not again," Naruto muttered, struggling to stay conscious.
Miles, panicking, watched helplessly as Octavius approached, ready to retrieve the flash drive. Suddenly, a new figure swooped in, webbing up Octavius and knocking her out. The mysterious attacker retrieved the files and landed gracefully beside a tree.
Naruto, Peter, and Miles, all looking worse for wear, stared in shock as the newcomer removed their mask.
"Hey, fellas," she greeted with a confident smile.
Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief. "Gwen?"
Gwen Stacy, Spider-Woman of another dimension, stood before them, her presence both a surprise and a relief. "Do I know you?" she said, her eyes reflecting a mix of determination and concern.
