I DO NOT OWN BREAKING BAD OR COBRA KAI
Encino Hills High School. The next day.
Jesse Pinkman tried to be optimistic as he walked into his new school, but it was a lost cause. Starting a new school was a real bitch. The odds were good that Sam LaRusso might be a class mate of his, but he couldn't be completely sure if that would be good or awkward. As Jesse made his way inside the school, his first impression was that a majority of the school's population was made up of semi rich kids. Kids whose mommies and daddies bought them everything they pleased. Jake knew that feeling well enough, but as for Jesse himself, his parents only bought for him what the law required them to and even then they skimped.
For Jake's first day at school, they'd spent a small fortune on supplies. As for Jesse, they got as much free stuff as they could. It just showed which Pinkman boy was important. Jesse had his head down when he bumped into another kid. Both boys dropped their stuff and scrambled to pick it up before anyone could steal it.
"Yo, I'm sorry dude." Jesse said as he rose to his feet.
"Nah man, it's no problem." The other boy said as he too got up. Jesse got a good look at the guy and saw that he was a Hispanic dude with jet black hair and deep chocolate brown eyes that girls could fall right into.
"I guess I'm still dealing with those, new student jitters; you know?" Jesse replied as the Hispanic boy nodded in agreement.
"Trust me, I've got plenty of those." He said with a smirk as he offered his hand to Jesse. "My name's Miguel, Miguel Diaz."
"Jesse Pinkman." He replied as he shook Miguel's hand.
"You from the valley or did you move?" Miguel inquired.
"Nah man, me and the family just checked in from Albuquerque." Jesse said as he and Miguel walked together.
"New Mexico, cool. Me, my mom, and my yaya just moved here from Riverside." Miguel added.
"Your Yaya?" Jesse asked in confusion.
"My grandma." Miguel answered as Jesse nodded in understanding.
"Too bad, if you were from here, you could have told me what assholes to look out for." Jesse lamented.
"I still can, there's a guy called Kyler and he is an asshole and so are his pals." Miguel cautioned as Jesse took a double take. Was it the same guy that had pissed off Sam so much that she allowed herself to get manhandled by a complete stranger? If so, then not only was Kyler a lousy boyfriend, but he was a lousy dude in general.
"For the record, that is still one of the most lame ass names I've ever heard and I knew a junkie named Spooge, yo." Jesse asked with disbelief as he hadn't even met Kyler, but based on what Sam and Miguel told him, he felt like he knew his loser ass well enough.
"Why was he called Spooge?" Miguel asked in confusion at someone having such a ridiculous name.
"I don't know, maybe that was the sound he made when he and his girl were screwing around, who the Hell knows?" Jesse asked with a laugh as the 2 went to their lockers; which coincidentally happened to be right next to each other.
"What class you got first?" Miguel inquired as the boys got their books in hand.
"Science with Mrs. Wolowitz." Jesse answered as Miguel's eyes lit up.
"Me too, at least I'll actually know someone." He replied with relief.
"Right on." Jesse said with a smile as he and his new found friend walked to their first class. Science wasn't necessarily Jesse's favorite subject, but thankfully the teacher didn't make him stand up and make him introduce himself to the entire class. Unfortunately, Mrs. Wolowitz decided to pair off everyone on the first day and Miguel wasn't Jesse's partner. The student that the elder Pinkman boy was paired up with was a chunky black girl with glasses and orange fuzzy hair. She wasn't supermodel pretty, but Jesse felt like deep down, she was kind of attractive.
"Hi, I'm Aisha." The girl said with an awkward smile.
"I'm Jesse and right off the bat, I'm really hoping that you know something about science, because I was never good at this bitch." Jesse replied with an awkward look of his own.
"Don't worry about it, I'll make sure you don't make a complete fool of yourself." Aisha replied with a chuckle as the 2 began working on the project. As they worked, Jesse couldn't help but be impressed by how smart Aisha was. She clearly could run circles around every other girl in school as far as intelligence was concerned. "I usually ain't so lucky as to get paired with a genius." Jesse remarked as they finished up their work.
"Well, you got lucky today." Aisha shot back as a tiny blush appeared on her cheeks.
"Damn right I did." Jesse said as he and Aisha out the finishing touches on the experiment before turning it into Dr. Wolowitz.
"So, what is your plan if Wolowitz doesn't let us partner up for the rest of the semester?" Aisha asked with a smirk as Jesse shrugged his shoulders.
"I have no idea, I'll probably just have to bribe a nerd into helping me cheat." He conceded with a chuckle, earning an eye roll from miss Robinson.
"Well, a safer option would be to let me tutor you, you could come over after school…and I could go over the chapter with you?" Aisha offered as Jesse could tell that she was not used to inviting guys over to her place. The last thing Jesse wanted to do was spend his after school hours pouring over science shit. However, Aisha was being nice and if he was being honest, he needed the help.
"That sounds cool, let's do it." Jesse replied as Aisha offered a smile of relief as she seemed shocked that a boy was actually agreeing to hang out with her.
