Hey everyone it's me! This chapter is going to be a little strange.
Also, language advisory because as a teen I can safely say that most of us swear like sailors and I'm not sure where the f-bomb falls under the rating category so… *shrug*
This chapter gets heavy and I'm writing it because although this is slightly more up front than the usual stuff that happens in school, stuff like this still happens and I don't want to gloss over it nor pretend that it doesn't happen because it does and I have experienced some of this stuff first hand and the after effects of how certain events like suicide affects people and not feeling safe in school and feeling that the school only cares about you if you're popular or play a sport. (I'm more of an academic person but I don't get rewarded for that, now do I?) Anyway, get your tissues if you're the emotional type.
Disclaimer- I DO NOT own Danny Phantom or its character but I do own the stories plot and some characters. And I do not own any character name that you see in my story that you see in others just to cover that as well. (I am SO changing that disclaimer when I have time. It's terrible.)
SpeculativeSofie has uploaded a new video!
What I think of the teens of Mr. Lancer's class. Nothing but the truth. No clickbait. Straight facts.
[The video opens with a blank screen being shown. Then a video pops up of a familiar high school hallway. The camera pans around showing various teens doing various things. The camera stops briefly on a trio of students then moves away. It then goes to a group of students taking up the majority of the hallway. In the center of the group a head of carefully styled dark brown hair is shown and next to her is a blonde male. The male leaves the group and approaches the trio from earlier. The dark-haired male and the black male get shoved in lockers and the girl dresses in black just glares at the blonde till he leaves. She lets her friends out of the lockers and the trio leaves as the blonde-haired male celebrates with his friends.]
"Hi guys it's me the resident naysayer and whistleblower and today I'm gonna talk about the show Living Ghostly," she pauses and the background noise starts to turn spooky then stops abruptly as she begins speaking again, "For those of you who know me and those who don't my name is Sofie and on my channel I go through and talk about things like, ghosts," she pauses winking at the camera, "demons, vampires, werewolves, you name it I talk about it. Now I'm gonna get to what my opening video was later on in the video. But first I'm gonna give my opinion about the newest show everyone is obsessed with about Amity Park. Amity Park is the self-proclaimed "Hauntedest Place on Earth" and believe it or not," she pauses, taking a breath. "It's true. Before you start unsubscribing, here me out!
"Now usually I would be the first person to say that the town is lying, but the thing is, they're not. I lived in that town for 5 years. I moved there during 5th grade and moved away after 9th grade. So yeah, I am a class of 2018 graduate. The ghosts had always been there but they weren't like actively showing themselves. There were always unexplainable occurrences going on like missing jewelry or clothing, moved furniture, stuff turning on in a room that no one was in and other stuff like that. But the ghosts really made themselves known freshman year. My faithful viewers will recall that in one of my videos when I was just starting out a few of my boxes in my room started to glow. I told you guys to ignore it and then, not soon after, a floating blue figure in overalls showed up. He said very loudly:
"'YOU DARE IGNORE THE TERRIFYINGNESS THAT IS THE BOX GHOST!?'
"I turned around and deadass told him to go away and when he didn't, I sprayed him with some silly string. A lot of you guys speculated if he was real and yes, he was real. The dumbass didn't even turn intangible so that he wouldn't get covered in the string. He just shouted beware and left. Some of you guys said that it was my brother or one of his friends playing a joke but that was 100% real.
"So yeah, I lived in Amity Park for 5 years. Which brings me to the video I showed in my opening, that was the hallway of Casper High when I was a freshman and did vlogs and stuff. And when I tell you that that school was the main reason I moved," she looks into the camera, "I mean that shit. The bullying was terrible. The staff did absolutely nothing about it either! If you were an athlete, you were exempt from any and all punishments and it was the same if your parents' name carried any weight in the town. And one of the students that I, personally, think was bullied more than anyone else was Danny Fenton. Like, his parents were the town kooks and his sister was insanely smart to the point where she was vaguely annoying with that know-it-all vibe. Believe it or not he was actually smart people just never really gave him a chance to show it. He was also, kind, and nice, and sweet, and standoffish, and a prankster, and a goof, and," she paused, "I know this is making it sound like I was in love with him or something but I'm not and I wasn't.
"The losers in the school just hung out together a lot especially during like 5th grade and the beginning of 6th but everything changed after we came back from Christmas Break. The kids got meaner, the girls got bitchier, the smart kids got snootier, and the loners lurked more. But like even in the crowd of losers we had our groups Danny and his friends Sam and Tucker, April and her friends Kira and Michelle, and me and my friends Kelly and Abigail, and some other groups but they aren't really relevant cause they haven't been seen or mentioned on camera. But suddenly we all just like stopped hanging out. Danny and his friends closed themselves off from basically the whole class and the rest of us didn't really bother anymore. Except for April, because no one tells April what to do. The bullying then started to get physical. Pushing, shoving into people and object, tripping them so that they fall on the marble ground, giving people swirlies, putting people in locker or closets or any other enclosed space," she blinked back tears wiping her eyes, "someone freaked out because they were locked in the supply closet, they almost died and the school did nothing but tell them to be more careful. The family moved away. I think they mentioned it during the Back-to-School games, the kid who moved away? Tucker probably didn't know what the A-list were getting at because Gregor and Ramoan were targeting Sam and that wasn't okay. Like at all.
"Oh! That reminds me, I'll tell you guys the rumor that was being spread around that they didn't want Danny to know. But, knowing Danny, he def already knows.
"Anyway, if you were a part of the band, you had it worse, if you were smarter than them, you had it worse, if your parents were basically weird you had it worse. At first, they avoided picking on Danny because he defended himself and put up a fight and a lot of people were actually like scared of Sam and they still are. But Danny decided to help out some of the more heavily bullied kids by distracting the bullies by intervening. Once he deemed that he intervened enough to make the bully forget he would disappear.
"Sam actually fought Paulina during 7th grade, I think, because she was being extremely vicious to a new girl at the school. Long story short Paulina was jealous of the new girl and kept harassing and bullying her, Sam being Sam doesn't play that shit. Sam defended the girl and introduced her to some people that would help her out. Paulina got mad and confronted Sam about some bullshit or the other and Paulina hit her. The hallway got quiet for a while and then Sam jumped on her. It took like 4 football players, 3 teachers, her friends, and the principal to get her off the other girl. Sam definitely won that fight.
"Anyway, sorry I keep getting off track, slowly but surely the bullies stopped targeting the other kids and started targeting Danny and his friends. And it went on like that for years. And no matter how many reports were filed, no matter how many people spoke up, no matter how many people complained, nothing happened. And like it was terrible. It was the worst thing ever and there was no escaping or getting out of it. Cause no matter how many times Danny and his friends intervened the bullies would always come back."
[The camera screen went white and a video clip played. A crowd of students were seated outside of an office. Some of them were crying while others looked bruised. An adult comes out of the office wearing an angered expression.]
"'Where did all of you think to get the idea to attack the schools most prized students! They have done nothing wrong to any of you! All of you should be ashamed for hurting them like that!'
"'They're the ones who should be ashamed! Bullying the whole school for no reason. Michelle's arm is broken and not a single one of you give a damn about why most of the kids in here with us are crying! Are you really that blind as to what is happening in your school or do you choose to be blind as to not witness the mistakes you have created,' Sam hissed at the woman with acid dripping from every word.
"'That is quite enough, young lady. And to the rest of you stop filing false bully reports it's not cute to get others in trouble for no reason.'
"'Those reports aren't false!' Danny yells standing up. 'How long will it take for the adults in this school to wake the fuck up! We aren't lying and haven't been lying! The only people who believe us are some of the citizens in this town, our own parents don't believe us and they never will because they trust the school more than their own children.'
"'We have enough evidence to make a case against the school,' Tucker stands up next. 'We could take you to court. Some people would call it stupid to ignore some of the brightest minds in the school, you never know what we could do. You guys' only care about those who top the tests every time though not the ones who fall behind them. That's who this school cares about, those who are gifted in sports or those who are gifted of the mind, not anyone in between those two.'
"'That is quite enough! Do not make me call your parents!'
"'Do it!' April roars, 'Because why haven't you called them yet! Is it not protocol for the parents to be called in these types of situations! Then, maybe you can try to explain all these crying bruised children in the office.'
"'We don't give a shit about any of the consequences for this because it needed to happen. Hell, none of this should have happened! My best friend's arm is BROKEN! We're more scared of going to school than any of the fucking ghosts! And we know,' Kira pauses glaring tearfully at the stunned older woman, 'that you guys change all of our answers that we give when we have to take those stupid surveys about the schools safety.'
"'So, fix it,' Danny's voice was ice cold chilling everyone in the room, 'before we fix it for you. Do you really want to know the kind of damage the nobodies of the school can do?'
"'My mom is here,' Tucker turns to the crowd of upset students, 'she's taking whoever needs to go to the hospital there and all the parents are informed. The rest of us can just chill at my house till we feel safe again.'
"'Let's go,' Sam said holding the door to the office open, 'it's not good for any of us to be here any longer.'"
[The camera shows Sofie again.]
"That happened oh," she looks off into the distance, "8th or 9th grade year. No, it was 9th because Ishiyama was the principal of both the middle and the high school. I'm not sure if anything really changed after that, but things got better? They hired a therapist who quit after talking to all of us about how we feel about the school. And yes, I have permission to share this video. I asked all involved parties. So yeah, those schools are shit and that's why I moved. And sadly, not soon after that happened, a girl committed suicide because of that fucked up school.
"Danny got into an accident freshman year in his parent's lab. No one would say what happened but he was left alone for a few weeks after it happened by the bullies but once it was clear that there were no side effects they started again. After the accident he was clumsy as fuck dropping everything and anything including his pants, a couple of times. So needless to say, when he started dating Paulina I was shook. Not only because of the history there but because the hell was, he thinking? They dated at least twice one time because Paulina was trying to get at Sam and the other time, I swear there was some type of blackmail. Oh yeah! She thought that he knew the ghost boy," she shoots the camera a fed-up look. "But never worked out so, yay! And then he was able to pull another girl from the popular crowd! Like the hell was he fed as a child to make him so popular with the ladies and why wasn't it given to Tucker as well? But that relationship didn't work out either.
"So, onto the thing that is being kept very hush hush by the class. Everyone knows that Gregor and Ramoan have been caught on camera saying that Sam is talking to them. Which is hella false. She may have dated Gregor during 9th but she would never talk to him again because he lied to her their whole relationship and wanted to take her away from her friends. And that bitches name is fucking Elliot NOT Gregor, lying ass bitch. So that's what happened in the past. I honestly have no clue who Ramoan is and I don't want to know. Anyway, for those of you who don't know, Sam has a younger sister, Selina. She's a sweet girl, really. Paulina even tried to spread a rumor that Selina was Sam's daughter. That DID NOT go over well for any of the trio and it got shut down. Hard. But to me it seems that those two boys tried to spread that rumor again but Felicity Taylor informed the right people. Notice how they don't talk about it anymore and the fact that those two have been a little absent although we can't really tell because we haven't seen any more episodes. I'm also going off the fact that no one mentions them anymore except for Vickie Vale who mentioned one of the two but seeing the way the class collectively flinched, something happened. Or they're saying that Sam is a natural blond and know because they done did it," she gives the camera a disbelieving look. "Yeah, right. As if Danny would let them become close enough to Sam to see her nude. But I honestly think it's a combination of both.
"But believe me when I watched the show for the first time I was like: what. The. FUCK! Because A) we all hate each other, like despise. Even when we had to save all the adults from some ghosts and we still didn't exactly see eye to eye. B) It looked like the pick and choose what footage of the teens they wanted to show. C) I'm just gonna be honest and say it was the lack of fighting that tipped me off. Sam and Paulina fight like a house on fire even when Sam isn't involved in something directly, Paulina involves her and it explodes from there. April has legit always been a confrontative person, but seeing her fight with Paulina really threw me for a loop. And I think the show only kept it in there for kicks because Sam's reaction to being brought into the fight was hilarious. And D) there was hardly any bullying, which at first, I thought was a good thing but then it got me to thinking. This school has a long history of bullying and for it to up and just about vanish and turn itself into passive aggressive comments was strange for someone who actually lived in the town for a while.
"Overall, I just wanna say that the show raises a few red flags for me. A) Where are all the ghosts? We only saw a glimpse of one and Phantom in the first episode but none before or after that. B) As I said earlier, the way the teens act on camera, they even said that some of the kids play it up for the cameras. C) How did the show change focus from the town to a class in a high school and why? D) Why did they have a talk show and did some of the people filmed give permission to be filmed? And lastly E) How are the residents of the town being affected by the show? Like the school they said that some students were being moved to their class for homeroom but I know for a fact that Lancer's homeroom also share 1st period together. Are they gonna change the whole class's schedules just so that they will always be together and make it easier for the camera to follow? But who knows," the girl shrugs.
"Thanks for tuning to me complaining about Amity Park and all the shit that happens there and my theories and concerns about the show. Not all of my videos are like this so if you're curious check out some of the links below and I'll see my fellow Naysayers later. Sofie is out!"
[Sofie wearing neon green glasses and a black hoodie with a green alien on it gives a salute to the camera before the screen turns black.]
Comments
She has mentioned before that she lived in Amity Park heck her older videos look exactly like the town.
Ok but what the fuck is wrong with their schools and why haven't they done anything about it.
The fact that she came on her to lay down some facts but spilled some really personal stuff just makes me so emotional.
The fact that she actually knows the people in the show and talks to them still is really cool! And she answered some of the questions that have been floating around about the show.
We love a queen who spills all the tea and asks all the right questions!
Why is the video blocked? Why are her other videos blocked? Why is her channel disabled now? What is happening? All of this happened in the span of like 15 minutes after the video came out. I'm like super concerned.
SpeculativeSofie-Apparently, I'm moving back Amity.
This channel has been deleted.
Soooooo first things first, Surprise! Another chapter! Yay!
Anyway, I wanted to do a chapter like this for a while but I was like don't stir the pot just let it bubble but then after the recent chapter I got to thinking, "I can finally stir the pot!" So, I'm hella happy.
This chapter was depressing and amusing and it was very informative.
And no, I'm not going to just gloss over the suicide or the rest of the issues about high school. One of my friends (well technically not my friend but we talked every day in 7th period) committed suicide and it really hurt and it was because of bullying. And if you expect me to believe with how much bullying that Casper High lets happen that no one has ever really reached rock bottom over it? You're wrong and it might come up again.
Stay Safe, Healthy, and Strong!
Lots
Of
Love,
LJ
