The Battlefield
Hicca is gravely injured but refuses to leave the others to fight, Toothless is by her side as they watch what this owl will do. Hicca says, "We need to end this fight now." Toothless nods his head and says, "I am behind you, love." Together they charge the large owl, and they manage to charge without fear. Toothless raises his talon's causing the large owl to raise his talons. However, Toothless does a dive at the last moment. Hicca had dived down when Toothless charged and once she was out of the large owl's sight. She flapped her wings hard to fly straight towards the enemy. Before the large owl could move she body slams him. In doing so she was able to knock the helmet off his head.
When she looks back at her opponent who is shaking his head but when he looks up at her Hicca freezes. Hicca does not move but continues to stare at the owl who now is revealed to be none other than her father. Toothless is also stunned but he begins to fly towards them but he is stopped by another trying to kill him. Hicca shakes her head then narrows her eyes and in a deadly voice, "You. How did you find me? Find this place?" Stoick simply answers, "When a group that I sent out came back and reported about seeing your friend. I knew you were here." Stoick pauses and in the corner of his eye he sees Toothless finish off his opponent and diving towards him talons out. He calmly then says, "I had ordered that you be spared so I would have the honor of killing you myself."
Stoick charged Hicca and was able to grab Hicca by the throat and Hicca began to choke. Toothless beats his wings harder and faster trying to get to Hicca. However, in his rage he is captured by a pair of armored owls. Toothless was grabbed by his wings and the two armored owls each have a wing. He tries to get free, but they hold him tight. Toothless tries to rip his wings free but they both have him by digging their talons into his wings.
Toothless continues to fight but he feels both his wings being broken in many places. He screeches in pain and can no longer fight due to the pain. He watches helplessly as his soulmate is about to be killed by the talons of her own father. Stoick brings her closer to his face then says, "I told you weakling. I would kill you one day." Hicca screeches in his face trying to get free however, before he could make the killing blow he hears above him, "Leave her alone Stoick!" He looks up to see Valka flying down to him and she looks ready to kill.
Valka body slams Stoick and that slam causes him to let Hicca go who now begins to fall a few feet. But just by luck she is caught by Cloudjumper who helps her get air born again. They go back up to rejoin the fight. Stoick in shock says, "I thought you were dead." Valka answers coldly, "I never died, Stoick. I faked my death to escape you." They lock talons and free fall before hitting the ground Valka throws him. He catches himself then turns around and slashes at her. He manages to hit her face with his talons. Valka shakes her head and faces him again.
Stoick then shouts, "You had it all Valka! You had me! You had power!" Valka responds with venom in her voice, "I never wanted you! The only good thing that came to being with you is Hicca!" Hicca is surprised by this and stops midflight, then Stoick says, "Then let's see how loyal you are then." Stoick goes over to Toothless then grabs him by the throat. The two armored owls let Toothless go and by doing so Toothless screeches in pain. Hicca flies over to get to her lover but is stopped by the same pair of armored owls.
They grab Hicca then bring her closer to Stoick and soon two more armored owls' approach and wait for orders. Stoick then says, "I will give you a choice: save the hatchling you abandoned or one of the best fighters you will ever have." Valka with fear in her voice, "You know I can't answer. I can't choose between them!" Stoick coldly says, "Well then I will kill them both." He drops Toothless who plummets to the ground but is caught by the new armored owls. They move to hover side by side with Hicca and her captors, and soon an armored owl goes in front of both Hicca and Toothless.
Stoick nods his head then the armored owls raise their talons ready to rip the pairs throat out. However, Valka screams, "STOP!" The owls stop and Stoick waits watching her closely, Valka lowers her head then says, "If you let them both go, I will leave with you I won't fight you." The battle has by now stopped, everyone on both sides are all watching. Hicca remains silent even tries to rip her wings away, but they hold her tight. Toothless meanwhile is showing pain and desperation. Valka moves closer with her head still down and says, "If you let them go. Let them live. I will go with you in their place."
Stoick looks at her then Valka moves closer to him and lastly, she says, "I won't fight or run away." Stoick looks at her then says, "You have a deal." He grabs Valka by her wings to keep her from flying, then orders, "Break them." The two pairs of armored owls proceed to break and slash Hicca's wings and Toothless gets both his legs broken. They both screech out in pain causing Valka to yell, "You promised!" Stoick chuckles evilly, "Never said anything about hurting them." He looks at the pair then looks down to see sharp rocks below. He then commands, "Throw them." The armored owls throw both Hicca and Toothless down to the sharp rocks.
Valka yells and screeches as the pair fall to their deaths. Stoick screeches and all the armored owls leave with Valka still screeching. Cloudjumper dives down with a few others in the hope to catch both Hicca and Toothless. Valka was able to turn back only to see both Hicca and Toothless hit the rocks and vanish from sight. She cries and drops her head then looks up and yells, "YOU MONSTER!" Stoick says nothing and flies off with the others. Valka lets her tears fall from her eyes as she is taken away from her family and home.
Cloudjumper flies down but the pair vanish from his sight before he could reach them. He just manages to stop himself from flying into the sharp rocks he turns to the other owls and commands, "Find them! Quickly" The others begin to search for the pair. Hookfang and Stormfly search on top of the sharp rocks together desperate to find them, Ruff and Tuff search the water that is between the sharp rocks, Meatlug and Fishlegs search the water near the sharp rocks. Barf and Belch both look closer to the borders of Haven and Snotlout is also looking worried. Hours pass and still no sign of the pair and more and more owls fear they are already dead.
The group and Cloudjumper refuse to stop searching even as the sun begins to fall and the moon begins to rise. Soon night rises fully and Cloudjumper is about to end his search when he hears Snotlout yell, "I FOUND THEM!" The others waste no time rushing over to where Snotlout is. When they meet up with Snotlout they see that his head is bowed. They land and Snotlout turns to them and shakes his head then turns back to the pair.
They all gather around to see that both Hicca and Toothless are lying motionless. Both of their wings are broken and ripped open, Toothless's legs are both broken and Hicca's left leg is shattered. They both are laying close together and that is when the group bows their head in silence. Stormfly lets her tears fall from her eyes as do the others. Snotlout tries to act tough, but he does nothing to hide his tears.
Both Meatlug and Fishlegs hold each other and cry, Hookfang does nothing to hide his cries of sorrow, the two sets of twins look at each other and bump heads. After moments they slowly take off leaving Stormfly behind. She bumps both Hicca and Toothless on the head with her own and is prepared to take off. Stormfly turns away pausing one more time, looking back at the pair one more time. She looks up where the others are slowly getting further away. However, before she could take off, she was stopped by a groan of pain. She turns back quickly, her eyes wide in shock not saying or even moving. She takes a step back to the pair then she yells loudly, "Guys get back here! Quickly!"
Red Death's Nest, Prison Cell
Valka is sitting in the corner chained to the ground, her wings clipped so she can't fly. She spent hours crying at the death of her daughter. Valka begins to regret everything that led up to the point but that is too late for her daughter and mate. An armored owl comes by and throws a pitiful meal and says, "Eat. Stoick's orders." Valka looks at the scrap but refuses the meal and leaves it. The armored owl says, "I don't care if you eat or not." Valka remains silent and the armored owl just says, "Fine. Starve yourself." He takes the meal back and leaves Valka in the dark.
Valka returns to her thoughts and thinks back to when she had laid Hicca's egg. Where she was surrounded by those she cared for. She looks up from her cell and she can barely see the moon and whispers, "Gobber, Gothi I hope you can forgive me. For I have done so many wrongs. I will never forgive myself." She looks down again and lays down to get some sleep. Before she falls asleep, she again whispers, "Hicca. I hope you can forgive me. I am so sorry." She lets a single tear fall from her eye and sleep finally takes her.

Hello to everyone who has been following or just passing by. I know I have not posted anything in a long time, and I apologize to all of you. The last year has not been the most kind to me. I was not in a good place and now I am in a good place and doing better. I am not ending this story. I have many more chapters for this story. I have no plans to discontinue it, and I will see this story to the end. So please don't worry more chapters are coming and I have more fanfictions stories in the making. I will be sure to keep to updating all my fanfiction's that I am writing on Friday every week. So that means every Friday a new chapter will appear.
