Chapter 5: Pie Eating

LaViolaViolaRosa: Thx.

MatiasND: Thx, and yes it did.

Bloodylilcorpse: Thx, yeah it's a shame. Yes there is, and I'm glad to hear that.

"Last time on Totally Epic: Life on the Farm, the teams picked some vegetables. They got down and dirty, trying to figure out which vegetables were ripe enough to eat. Some sparks began to fly between Courtney and Quinten. And the Haystacks took victory, and the Tractors lost due to Kat's lazy attitude and refusal to help pick the veggies, and was voted off. What'll happen next? Find out now on Totally Epic: Life on the Farm." Monica announced.

The Tractors had just come out the showers.

"Well, I think I finally rid of the smell." said Renni.

"I hope we don't have to do that again." Zuni replied.

"As long as we all give each challenge our all, we won't be." Daniel told the girls.

"Well I'm heading to bed. Goodnight, guys." told Glenn.

"Goodnight." said Angie.

And with that, they all went to bed.

Hours later, the sun came up and the rooster crowed. Everyone slowly got out of bed, and got ready for the day. As they all headed for the mess hall for breakfast, Courtney walked beside Quinten.

"Good morning, Quinten. How're you?" she asked.

"Morning, Courtney. I'm fine, and I managed to sleep for a little bit." Quinten replied.

"That's good. We'd want you to be 100% for today's challenge." Quinten blushed a little.

"Okay, I'm really thinking that Courtney's into me." Quinten told the camera.

"I hope Quinten gets the idea that I like him." hoped Courtney.

In the mess hall, they saw Monica, Hailey, Charlotte with Pepper on her shoulder waiting for them. But there wasn't any breakfast being served.

"Hey where's breakfast?" asked Reese.

"Don't worry, you'll be eating soon enough. Which is what our next challenge will be about." Monica explained.

Everyone looked confused.

"Here in the country, all the food that grows is made into delicious food. You learned that with the vegetables. But today you'll be eating instead of harvesting." Hailey told them.

"And what exactly will we be eating?" wondered Angie slowly.

"Charlotte, would you like to tell them?" Monica asked.

Charlotte smiled and nodded.

"You'll be participating in a pie eating contest." Charlotte announced.

That sounded good to the teens.

"Right now the pies are being made and while they're cooking you can discuss strategies with your teammates." Monica told them.

The Haystacks and Tractors then left the mess hall, and split up.

"A pie eating contest? That sounds fun and tasty." said Spikke.

"So what's the plan, Reese?" asked Sunny.

"Simple, we just eat as much pie as we can." replied Reese.

"Sounds easy enough." said Sydney.

With the Tractors, they discussed their game play.

"Okay, does anyone have any allergies we should know about?" Daniel wanted to know.

No one said anything.

"Good, then we all just eat as much as we can."

"This challenge is totally ours. No way we can mess up a pie eating contest." Daniel told.

About an hour later, the contestants were called to the fields where two long tables were set up and the interns were standing by many karts filled with pies.

"All right, Tractors you're on the left side and Haystacks you're in the right side." Monica instructed.

Each team took their spots, and the interns placed a pie in front of them.

"All right, here's how it's going to go. There will be 8 courses, and you'll have 5 minutes to eat as many pies as you can. Whoever is the last person standing wins for their team."

"You've got to try and keep the pie down." added Hailey.

Charlotte then placed glasses beside each contestant and interns put pitchers of water on the table.

"This'll help keep you hydrated." she informed.

"Your first pie is a Montana favorite, huckleberry pie. Everyone ready?" asked Monica.

Everyone answered yes.

"Then ready...set...EAT!"

And then everyone started digging in to the pies. They ate as much as they could swallowing gulps of water in between.

"Okay, it's a good thing I'm not wearing nice clothes." said Sunny.

"Otherwise, I'd be too worried about getting them dirty."

"Gee, I've never eaten anything this fast before." said Quinten.

"Less talking, more eating." told Reese.

They kept on eating, and then Hailey sounded the airhorn.

"Time's up for round one." she told.

"Everyone okay?" asked Daniel.

The members of the Tractors agreed they were ready to keep eating.

"Everyone ready for the next round?" Reese wanted to know.

The members of the Haystacks were okay to keep going.

"Second round, apple pies."

The interns then placed the new pies in front of them.

"And go!"

They all continued eating, but as Sydney was eating, she stitch got in her stomach.

"Guys I think I'm out." she informed.

"Can't you eat any more?" wondered Spikke.

"I don't know."

"Take a few sips of water, and see how you feel." Reese told her.

"There's no way we can have a team member out this early." Reese said.

Sydney did that, and after a minute she felt a bit better. The Tractors continued to dig into their pies, and then Glenn's stomach began to feel a little funny.

"Don't you throw up on me, Glenn." threatened Angie.

Glenn looked like he might've thrown up, but he got himself together.

"I'm fine."

They continued eating, until Monica stopped them.

"For our third round, strawberry pie."

As the interns put the new pies in front of them, Sydney looked nauseous.

"Sorry guys, but I can't go on." she admitted.

"Sydney's out, sit on the bench over here." Hailey instructed.

And Sydney left the table.

"And...eat!"

Everyone dived into the pies, getting filling all over their faces. Just as Glenn finished eating a pie, his stomach began turning and the next thing he knew his pies were being splattered all over the ground.

"You're out Glenn." Charlotte told him.

Glenn got up and sat on the bench beside Sydney.

"And there goes another contestant." announced Hailey.

The others continued eating until Monica stopped them.

"Fourth round, peach pie."

They began eating again, after his 2nd peach pie, Spikke could feel it coming back, and he threw up.

And joined the others on the bench.

"And there goes Spikke." said Charlotte.

Pepper squeaked at her. When that round ended, Zuni was too stuffed to eat anymore, and dropped out.

"Fifth round, blueberry pie."

As everyone ate Renni got full and went to sit on the bench.

"I'm glad I stopped when I did. I would've thrown up." Renni confessed.

"Sixth round, pecan pie." announced Monica.

The contestants ate, and gulped down water. On the Haystacks' side Courtney and Sunny couldn't eat anymore, and on the Tractors' side Daniel wasn't able to keep his pies down.

"Angie, it's up to you." Daniel told her, as he left the table.

"Don't worry, I got this." Angie told.

"Finally, I get a chance to prove what an asset I am to the team. It's about time." Angie bragged.

"Now for our seventh round, cherry pie."

The last three remaining contestants dug into as many pies as they could. This time, Quinten couldn't eat anymore and left the table.

"And now we've reached the final round. It's between Reese and Angie."

"You can do it, Reese." cheered Courtney.

"Come on, Angie." Daniel encouraged.

"And now for the final pie...chocolate pie."

This time the interns only placed five pies.

"And ready...set...eat!" The two started eating the pies.

They both started to slow down, but were determined to come in first. Just as Reese was about to take another bite of pie, he threw up.

"And there goes, Reese. The Tractors win!" Announced Monica.

The Tractors cheered, and the Haystacks groaned.

"Finally I'm in the spotlight." Angie bragged.

Then her stomach gurgled.

"But something else may be in the spotlight too."

"Well Haystacks I'll see you at the elimination ceremony. For those of you who are too full to walk, you're welcome to ride back with us on the trailer." Monica offered.

As it turned out, all of the teens were too full to walk, and got on the trailer.

The contestants went right to their sleeping quarters and just lied down.

"I never want to see another pie in my life." said Sunny.

"You got that right." agreed Courtney.

"So any idea who's leaving?" wondered Sydney.

"I don't know, but maybe the guys are having some ideas." thought Sunny.

In the guys' sleeping quarters the guy members of the Haystacks were discussing the elimination.

"So who's leaving, Reese?" asked Quinten.

Reese thought for moment.

"This is going to be a challenge. Any of them could leave, but I need to make it clear that I'm not leaving." said Reese.

"Well, Sydney was the first one out." Reese mentioned.

"But you weren't able to hold your pie down." Spikke pointed out.

"Hey, I got us that far. Unlike you. Besides I'm the leader." Reese snapped.

Spikke shrank back a bit.

"Calm down, dude. Spikke was just making an observation." Quinten defended.

"Well either way, we need to decide on someone to vote off." told Reese.

After resting a little, Reese left the quarters. He then saw Sunny and Courtney.

"I've already made it clear to the guys that there's no way I'm getting voted off. I need to make sure the girls know what too." Reese told the audience.

"Hey ladies." Reese called to them.

"Oh, hi Reese. Feeling better?" asked Sunny.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Listen, have you thought about who to vote off yet?"

"Not yet." Courtney told him.

"But we were thinking about it."

"Just to let you know, even though we lost the challenge I was the last on standing." he informed.

"That's true." replied Courtney.

"Just think hard when it comes to the elimination ceremony."

And with that Reese walked off.

That night, the Haystacks gathered at the elimination ceremony after casting their votes.

"All right, Haystacks." started Monica.

"You've cast your votes, and now it's time to find out who's staying and who's going."

Everyone looked at each other, and then Hailey stepped beside her with the carrots ready.

"You know what to do when I call your name. Sunny."

"Yes." Sunny whispered, and got a carrot.

"Spikke."

"Courtney."

"Quinten."

When Courtney saw that Quinten was still in the game, she breathed a sigh of relief. Now it was down between Reese and Sydney.

"And now the final carrot goes to..."

Sydney looked nervous while Reese stayed calm.

"Reese."

He smiled proudly while Sydney looked defeated. Reese took his carrot from Hailey and joined the others.

"Sorry Sydney. That's your cue to leave." Monica told her.

"I know. Bye guys." Sydney said, and left.

"And there goes Sydney. Who'll be next to leave and what'll we do next? Find out next time on Totally Epic: Life on the Farm."
