I am posting this really to see how much interest is there. It's been a LONG time since I've posted anything; I'm talking years. And this story has literally been YEARS in the making. The bold text below introducing the story (and this prologue) was written sometime in 2006. Yes, 2006. I was a junior/senior in high school in 2006, 16/17 years old. To put it in perspective, I am now 35. I am still not quite done writing this story, but I do have 21 chapters written so far (well, Prologues part 1 and 2, and 19 chapters). At some point I actually start keeping track of when I started and ended chapters, so you'll see really long breaks, some as long as 4 years. I've been on a writing spree recently, getting several chapters done in the last month, and am determined to finish this. If you want to read this story, please let me know either by reviewing or following!

This story actually came to me in a dream. It was weird, I dreamed up this whole plot and I woke up and was like, "That's a great story idea!"
Full Summary: He was taken four years ago. No one has seen him since, and many believe he's dead. But not her; Sam refuses to believe it. When she finds clues to his existence, she follows them and finds herself in a mess no one could have predicted. DxS of course. Rated T for scenes of intense violence and torture.
Yea…Danny's in for a world of hurt. Poor guy…
Please note: This is a darker take on the show. I feel like this show could've been so much more than a teen cartoon.
Well I hope you enjoy. ^_^
Disclaimer: I own nothing 'cept the plot.

Prologue Part One: Wanted
–
He ran a hand through his snow white hair, his green eyes searching the sky for the ghost he knew was there. He suspected it was a weak one considering it barely even registered his ghost sense. He sighed, clearly annoyed and flew back towards the Nasty Burger.
Danny's ghost sense went off once again and he stopped and turned mid-flight. When his eyes landed on the cause of his ghost sense he rolled his eyes.
"I AM THE BOX GHOST!"
"For the last freaking time, I know who you are. Now get out of here!" Danny made a shooing motion with his hands.
"YOU CAN NOT CONTAIN ME, NOR SHOO ME AWAY!" The Box Ghost waved his hands above his head in what Danny determined was supposed to be an intimidating gesture.
Danny growled and pulled the Fenton Thermos from behind his back, earning a small yelp from the portly ghost. He yanked the cap off and sucked the Box Ghost in while he was screaming "BEWARE!"
With a sigh, he put the thermos back in its place and flew back to the Nasty Burger.
The entire week had been this way. It seemed as if all the ghosts wanted to do was irritate him; his teachers planted extra work on his desk, his parents were completely on his case after they found a large bruise on his arm and his sister was going totally psychological on him. The Box Ghost was the last annoying thing he needed to deal with and merely served to turn his foul mood into a bitter one.
But he had at least one thing to look forward to. He was going to give Sam a gift from a new power he discovered! He was hoping to use it to tell her how he felt, but he knew he was only kidding himself. Even if he managed to make the gift, he'd never be able to confess to her.
He landed in the back of the restaurant and changed back into Fenton mode. He entered the eatery and sat back down in the booth with his friends with an exhausted sigh.
"Box Ghost?" Tucker asked.
"How'd you know?" Danny asked, quirking an eyebrow to emphasize the sarcastic remark.
"Well, only he can annoy you this much," Tucker answered, clearly unfazed.
Danny sighed and slouched further into his seat. Sam studied him a moment before an idea popped into her head. "Well, why don't we have a movie night at my house?"
"Sweet!" Tucker lifted his arms above his head in an excited gesture.
Danny, while looking at Tucker oddly, shook his head. "I don't think that's a good idea. We're supposed to patrol tonight." He turned his gaze to Sam.
"Aww, can't we skip tonight, dude?" Tucker pleaded.
Sam was quick to back the techie up. "Yea, there has been some activity this week, but it was all lesser ghosts. What are they gonna do? Bore people to death?"
Danny thought for a moment. Sam was right; all the ghosts lately were either the Box Ghost, some ecto-pusses, Dora and Cujo. None of them could really hurt anything even if they tried. He shrugged. "Alright. I'm in," a smile graced his lips for the first time in what seemed like forever. He finally had something to look forward to after a long week of stress.
"Sho, what kindsh of moobies you wanna wash?" Tucker asked through a mouthful of burger, earning a disgusted look from his two friends. "What?" he raised his shoulders in innocence. However, his friends' looks of disgust were for different reasons.
Danny raised a brow. "Did you just say moobies?"
Sam shook her head to rid herself of the image of processed meat in her friend's blabbering mouth and interrupted Tucker's response to Danny, "I have some really cool new horror movies."
"He just said moobies."
Sam rolled her eyes. "I even have Slumber Party Zombie Massacre."
Tucker nearly shot his food out of his mouth. He chewed and swallowed quickly and then gave her a look that mirrored Danny's shock.
"That's not even in theaters yet!" Danny exclaimed.
"Not in the U.S., but it's out in Japan. I was able to get a rare early release." She smiled wider, loving the looks on her friends' faces.
Danny and Tucker shared a look, their grins practically from ear to ear. "You rock, Sam." Danny turned his grin to her. She waved it off with a simple "I know" but blushed anyway.
As Tucker finished his food, the three made plans to grab a change of clothes from their homes and meet at Sam's in an hour.
They threw their trash away and stood outside the fast food restaurant. "I'll go with Danny," Sam said. "He'll lose track of time and be gone for hours." Danny glared but Tucker suppressed a smile. He knew it was merely a ploy to spend time with the raven haired halfa alone.
With a shake of his head, Tucker waved to his friends and headed in the direction of his house. Danny and Sam walked in comfortable conversation on the way to his.

A set of binoculars lowered slowly from the man's eyes. He smiled wickedly and yanked a two-way from its holster on his belt. Pressing a button on the side, it crackled to life. "He's in my sights now. It didn't take long to find him."
"Good." A commanding feminine voice ripped through the static. "Gather the others, you'll take him tonight."
The man paused a moment before replying. "There are others with him."
"How many?"
"One right now, but gathering from what I heard of their last conversation, by the time we get set up, there will be a second."
There was a long pause. The man lifted the binoculars again to track the young couple walking and laughing down the street. He lowered them again when he heard the two-way pop and crackle. It did that for almost half a minute before he received a response. "Kill them. I only want the boy. There can be no witnesses."
"No problem." The man smiled crookedly and placed the two-way back in its holster. With one last look at the teens, he turned and hopped down the ladder off the roof, running down the alley to gather the others.

It's short, but it's the set-up. Who are these people? What do they want with Danny? Will Sam and Tucker get away? Tune in to the next chapter!
