Chapter 4-The truth
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke, Raven, Octavia, and Jake stare at the grounders. "We can talk, but can we please get my Dad inside and on a bed?" Clarke asks them.
"Gustus, help them," Lexa says, and Gustus nods as he walks over to them and helps Jake up. They follow Gustus inside as he takes Jake to a bed and lays him down.
"Leave the door open," Jake tells Clarke, who nods.
"So we are very confused," Raven says. "We didn't think there was anybody down here."
"You didn't?" Lexa asks.
"You invaded our lands," Indra growls.
"We didn't have a choice. They were going to kill my Dad," Clarke says. "Also, like Raven said, we didn't know anybody was down here. We always believed that radiation killed everybody."
"Who was going to kill your father?" Lexa asks.
"The council, on the Ark, the space station we come from. There is a council that is led by a chancellor. My Dad was part of it; he was also an engineer, and he took care of the Ark. He found an oxygen failure and was going to tell the people. My Mom told the Chancellor. He was going to float my Dad."
"Float him?" Anya asks.
"Send him into space. He would die," Raven says.
"So Raven built a pod, and we came down. We don't want trouble," Clarke says.
"If I wanted you dead, you would be," Lexa says as she motions toward a chair. "May I?" Clarke nods. Lexa sits down.
"There are twelve clans," Lexa tells them. "Thousands of us, and they all follow me. I have come to offer you a chance to learn to live like us, learn our language, and fight like us."
"Why?" Raven asks.
"Lincoln tells me there is more of you coming down."
"Yeah, in nine months, the prisoners in the skybox will be sent down. When the people on the Ark find out they can survive down here, the rest will come," Clarke says.
"How many people are on the Ark?"
"Over two thousand," Raven answers.
"They have guns as well?" Lexa asks Raven, who nods. "If we don't make peace now and your people come down and see us as the enemy, a lot of people could die. I don't want that, and neither do you. I would like to avoid bloodshed. I am offering you peace, and if your people can show me that they are willing to agree to that, an alliance," Lexa says.
"We accept," Jake says as he leans against the door.
"Dad, you need to be in bed," Clarke says.
"I need to hear this. We need this, guys."
Clarke looked at Raven and Octavia, who nodded. "We accept."
"Alright, we will help you pack and then take you to Tondc."
Wells's P.O.V
Wells and Murphy walk to their apartment. "So why are we doing this?"
"Abby needs as many friends as she can get right now, and if anybody knows about what happened to Clarke. Kane and Abby do, and maybe they'll slip up," Wells says as they get to the apartment and see Jaha standing in front of their door. "Go inside," Wells tells Murphy, who nods.
"Chancellor," Murphy says before he goes inside and shuts the door.
"What do you want, Dad?" Wells asks.
"I would like you to come home," Jaha says.
"I am home. You're in the way of me going inside," Wells says.
"This isn't your home, Wells. In a single-room apartment with John Murphy," Jaha hisses.
"John Murphy is my best friend, the man who was there for me when my father killed my best friend. He's my family more than you are. This is my home, I told you. You are dead to me; now get the hell out of my way," Wells growls. Jaha stays silent as he moves, and Wells walks inside. He shuts the door and looks at Murphy.
"Thanks for the kind words," Murphy says.
"Shut up," Wells says as he sets his bag down.
Raven's P.O.V
Raven rode on the back of Anya's horse as they rode into Tondc. She looked at the grounders as they stared at the sky people. "We're getting stared at," Raven whispers.
"You four have been the talk of the Coalition," Anya says as they stop the horse outside of Indra's house. Lexa climbs off her horse and looks at the people of Tondc.
"These are the sky people," Lexa says. "Clarke Griffin, Raven Reyes, Octavia Blake, and Jake Griffin. They will be staying in Tondc for the time being. I expect you all to treat them kindly and show them our ways. They are my guests," Lexa says to the people of Tondc, who nod as Lexa walks into Indra's house, followed by the others.
"They looked at us like legends," Octavia says.
"A lot of people want to know more about your people," Lexa tells them. "I need an act of faith from all of you."
"What is it?" Jake asks her.
"Your guns, I need you to hand them over. My people do not trust them. Our people believe that if you touch a gun, you will taken by the mountain men," Lexa says.
"Mountain me?" Raven asks.
"A story for another time," Lexa says. "You will all be safe. I told them you are my guests. They know that if they attack you, it will be an attack against me. This will prove to my people that you are willing to work with us, to become one of us," Lexa explains. "You are safe, I swear it," Lexa stares at them, and after a moment, Jake removes his handgun and lays it on the table. Clarke, Raven, and Octavia follow her. "Thank you," Lexa says. Indra grabs a crate, and the guns are put in them before Indra walks away. "Your training will begin tomorrow," Lexa says. "I will be in Tondc for a couple of weeks unless I am needed in Polis. Lincoln will show you to your new home."
"Thank you, Commander," Jake says, and Lexa nods as Lincoln leads them out of the cabin and through the village. The people of Tondc watch them with weary eyes. They get to a cabin, and Lincoln pushes the door open.
"There are three rooms."
"Octavia and I can share," Raven says as she looks at Octavia, who nods.
"Settle in. I will be back in an hour to show you around," Lincoln says before he leaves. Raven and Octavia walk to the door furthest to the left and walk in.
"Only one bed," Octavia says as she sets her bag down. Raven sets her bag down.
"You act like that's a problem," Raven says before she grabs Octavia's hand and pulls her into her chest. "We've been sharing a bed for a month," She says before she kisses her.
"Clarke and Jake will find out," Octavia says as she leans her head against Raven's.
"We're not married, O. We're two women who needed some comfort from someone else," Raven says before she kisses her again. "You know you can call this off whenever you want."
"I know," Octavia says with a grin as she kisses her again. "I just don't want to," She says before she pushes Raven onto the bed.
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke walked out of the cabin and looked around Tondc. "You look like me the first time I saw Polis," Lexa says as she walks up to her.
"Commander, I know Lincoln said an hour, but I couldn't wait," Clarke says.
"You are not a prisoner here, Clarke. You can do what you want, but since you have decided to do it yourself. I will join you," Lexa says, and Clarke nods as they start to walk. "We'll need to get you suited for more clothes and a weapon."
"I have my knife," Clarke says.
"You'll need a sword," Lexa says as Clarke stops to look at some drawings that were by a stand.
"You have shops?" Clarke asks her.
"Most traders travel. I would say this is one of them," Lexa says. "You draw, Clarke?"
"Yeah, it was the only thing I could do on the Ark that was fun," Clarke says. "Haven't been able to do it much since I got down here."
Lexa looks at the trader who is watching him. "Get her a couple of pencils and a book to draw in," Lexa tells the trader.
"Of course, Heda," The trader says as he walks away. He comes back a moment later and sets them down.
"How much?" Lexa asks.
"It is free, Heda. A gift to our new friends from the sky," The trader said.
"Are you sure?" Clarke asks.
"Yes," The trader says.
"Mochof," Lexa says.
"Mochof?" Clarke asks.
"It means thank you," Lexa says.
"Mochof," Clarke says to the man. The trader nods as Clarke grabs the pencils and the notebook and follows Lexa. "Thank you, Commander."
"Lexa in private, Clarke," Lexa says, and Clarke nods with a smile.
Murphy's P.O.V
Murphy stood behind Wells as he knocked on Abby's door. A moment later, Abby opens it. "Wells," Abby says with a smile as she hugs him. "You must be John Murphy."
"Yep," Murphy says as he shakes her hand.
"Come on," Abby says, and they follow her inside, where Kane is speaking with Bellamy and Aurora is helping Abby.
"Wells, Murphy, come here," Kane says, and they walk over to the man. "This is Bellamy Blake. Bellamy, this is Wells Jaha and John Murphy."
"Nice to meet you guys," Bellamy says.
"Sit down. It is time to eat," Aurora says as they set the food on the table.
"This is my girlfriend, Aurora Blake," Kane says.
"Nice to meet you," Wells says as he sits down. Murphy sits down beside him.
"How has school been, Wells?" Kane asks him.
"Good, I have to stop this one from killing Pike."
"You have a problem with Pike?" Kane asks Murphy.
"Can't say I blame him," Bellamy says, and Aurora glares at him.
"He doesn't like me and tries to get under my skin in any way possible. He has eased up since I became friends with Wells."
"How did that happen anyways?" Abby asks.
"After Clarke, Murphy was there for me," Wells says after a moment.
"Really? Cause the guards told me that you two were fighting in the room you played chest in with Clarke, and the next thing I hear is you're living with him," Kane says after he takes a bite of his food.
"This is stupid," Murphy says. "I offered him a deal. I don't believe your story about what happened to Clarke, Jake, and Raven or the girl that was seen that night."
Kane chuckles as he looks at Abby. "You were right."
"What are you talking about?" Wells asks.
"When we found out about you two, we knew something was up. Your father thinks you are just trying to get back at him, but everybody knows he hates the council. We figured there had to be a reason. You two are looking into Clarke, Raven, and Jake's disappearance."
"Dissaperence?" Wells asks. "They're alive?"
"We believe they are," Abby says. "What we are about to tell you does not leave your mouth, understood?" They both nod. "Clarke, Raven, Jake, and the girl whose name was Octavia. They went to the ground."
"What?" Wells asks. "They would have died."
"We don't know," Kane says. "I hope not because that girl is my daughter."
"That is a lot to take it," Wells says. "Why are you telling us?"
"Because we need your help," Kane says. "In 9 months, the prisoners in the skybox will be dropped to the ground. We plan to be on that ship, but they won't be happy to see us. We'll need allies down there."
"You think we can help with that."
"I do. You've already started Jasper Jordan and Monty Greene. I need you guys to have friends. Tell them about this when you are sure you can trust them. We'll need them."
Murphy looks at Wells, who nods. "Alright, we're in," Murphy says.
"Alright, now let's eat. We can talk more later."
Thanks for reading. Octavia and Raven are just friends with benefits right now and will probably remain that way unless people want to see that as a relationship. The next chapter will have a three-day time skip. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
