Lunch
Walking into the cafeteria, Kiki led Hone to where Oleg and Hana were. They had taken their seats at what had once been the Outcasts' table. Since those three had graduated, it was nothing more but just another table in the cafeteria.
Waving at Oleg and Hana, Kiki said: "Hey, you two, how were your second period classes?"
Oleg merely shrugged while Hana said: "Not as good as yours, girl. Looks like you made a new friend. You got a name, guy?"
"Hone."
"I'm Hana and this is Oleg."
Waving a hand, Oleg said "Hey" and then turned to his sandwich. After taking a bite out of it, he commented with disgust: "Why do they always put mustard on my sandwich? No one in our house likes mustard, why do we even get it?"
Kiki stared in amusement, resisting the urge to giggle. Hone merely said: "Give me the half that you didn't take some of that mustard off your hands."
Oleg thought for a moment, ceasing his chewing and staring into space. Then nodding, he handed the other half to Hone.
Kiki was about to sit down and get started on her lunch when the cafeteria's television screen turned on. Carlota made the announcement: "Everyone to the gym please. Our new vice principal has arrived and we will all be welcoming her at an assembly." Kiki had not even gotten a chance to take a bite out of her sandwich. She hoped there would still be time for lunch afterwards.
