Welcome back, everyone. Enjoy and review.

That Night

Sitting in her room, Kiki thought everything over. It was very strange to steal a wooden duck of all things, but when it came down to it, there must have been weirder things to steal… Like a spoon… Or a potted plant from a doctor's office… Or a manhole cover.

Could the geography teacher have stolen Barrage's wooden duck? Kiki had not the faintest. Perhaps if there was some way to contact the famous Lee Ping or one of his friends, maybe they could give some sort of opinion on the subject.

An afternoon of investigating and the trail was colder than a freezer in January. How did Kiki think the investigation would go tomorrow? She had no idea. Lee Ping must have been such a great detective on par with the fictional Hercule Poirot that he must have found a lead his first day.

Sighing, Kiki's mind began to wander… Her cousin Irene's wedding, cheerleader tryouts… Maybe a nice trip to the beach… So much simpler… Perhaps she just was not cut out for this detective thing.

Or maybe, she just could not expect everything to go perfectly the first day. Even if Lee Ping had found a lead the first day of his investigation, should she have expected it to go the same for her?

Maybe tomorrow, would go differently. Kiki could ask around, take notes, maybe even do some snooping around. Maybe then things would be in her favour.

Getting up from her bed, Kiki's mind returned to taking a trip to the beach. It was almost Autumn, maybe one last trip to the beach would be nice.

As she walked over to her dresser, Kiki began to wonder… What if it was someone from Lee Ping's era at A. Nigma? Could that have been the case? Like that Vice Principal Victoria or… If that was the case, how would Kiki know that was who that individual was? It would have been someone she had never seen, never met before.

Pulling out a purple bikini, Kiki looked at it for a brief moment and then put it back. That was decided. That was what she would wear to the beach!

Walking over to her computer, Kiki proceeded to look through some old pieces of information concerning the Big Prank of 2012. It was… Not entirely accurate, there was of course the belief that Lee Ping had been the mastermind and there had also been a lot of speculation for motives, as well as other things.

Was this going to be a repeat with all that speculation? With it being so early in the case, there was only room for speculation.

Sighing, Kiki thought of the great mysteries of the world: monsters, legendary lands, mysteries of the ancient world, lost treasure, the supernatural, ghosts, UFOs, mysteries of the sea… Meanwhile, the first mystery she got to solve involved the theft of a wooden duck owned by a cyborg ex-military principal who wad robot cleaners and ran a school that had a creature known as a Tazelwurm for a mascot and had been the center of a conspiracy…

Alright, maybe this was not exactly a beginner's mystery, but at A. Nigma, would there ever be such a thing as a "beginner's mystery?"

Leaning back in her chair, Kiki stared up at her ceiling. What was she to do? Question the bird-watching club since ducks were birds? It was pretty stupid, but what else did she have to work with? She might as well have just gone around questioning everyone in the school.

Rubbing her head, thoughts of Lee Ping ran through Kiki's head. Did he ever have to go around questioning everyone in school?
