-New Normal Earth-
-Izu Peninsula, Japan-
As the narrative unfolds, Akari Inuyama, Aoi Inuyama, Chiaki Oogaki, Ena Saitou, Minami Toba, Nadeshiko Kagamihara and Rin Shima visited a supermarket named MAXPOWER to gather some supplies. During their shopping trip, they crossed paths with Holo Lawrence, Jiraiya Goketsu, Kraft Lawrence and Kiritsugu Emiya. Jiraiya attempted to flirt with Minami but Holo swiftly intervened by pulling him away by the ear, leaving the girls in a state of confusion.
Subsequently, they exited the supermarket and, after a brief drive, they are seen inside a seafood store named Manpuku Shoten.
Aoi and Nadeshiko then looks over one stall, "Is that it, Nadeshiko-chan?" the former asked.
Nadeshiko nodded in response, "Yep." she confirmed, "Premium Shimoda..." she trailed while looking at one particular fish, "... dried alfonsino!" she presented while picking it up, "It's been a while but we're going to use this to make some camp grub!" she declared with Akari, Aoi and Ena clapping their hands in excitement.
"I can't wait for dinner." Minami expressed with a smile.
Minami observed a customer joyfully enjoying fish and sipping sake. Having been unable to consume alcohol for 25 days, Minami felt a sense of longing but was gently restrained by Aoi.
"No drinking yet." Aoi reminded.
As this is going on, Chiaki and Rin watches everyone from one side.
"You know what to do, Rin." Chiaki reminded, "Operation Shrimp." she added.
"Y-Yeah." Rin uttered in acknowledgement.
Before the trip, Chiaki convened a discreet meeting with Ena and Rin to discuss her plans for surprising Aoi and Nadeshiko with a birthday feast. However, the dishes she wishes to serve are quite costly. To manage the expenses, she has decided to reduce Minami's budget for alcohol and allocate those funds towards purchasing the extravagant meal.
"Now, how do we talk her into it?" Chiaki beckoned.
Minami then turns to a worker in the store, "Excuse me." she called out, "I'd like this dry spiny lobster." she declared to which surprises Chiaki and Rin, Minami then walks towards them and lean forward, "Saitou-san told me about cooking something with spiny lobster." she whispered.
Chiaki and Rin then turns to Ena in awe who laid the groundwork for them, "Not bad, Ena." Chiaki complimented.
"We should have just asked normally from the beginning." Rin remarked.
At that moment, Hidenori Tabata stepped into the store. He surveyed his surroundings and observed an employee organizing products in a refrigerator before making his way over to him.
"Um, excuse me." Hidenori called out but is interrupted.
"Wait, wait, wait, hold on man, I'm do-" the employee was trying to say, "... I'm in the middle of something here." he corrected.
"I just need some help." Hidenori reasoned.
"I'm warning you right now dude, keep screwing around and bad shit is gonna happen, man." the employee threatened.
Hidenori scowled in response, "You don't need to be rude." he chided.
The employee angrily puts the items down and walks up to Hidenori, "Ok, what's up man, what do you want, huh?" he asked, "What's going on, what do you need, man?" he furthered, "Don't get nervous now, man, what?" he mocked, "Ask your..." he trailed, "... ask your question, go ahead, what?" he egged.
Hidenori scowled even deeper, "Look, asshole, I'm just wondering if you have any-" he was trying to say.
"Asshole?!" the employee exclaimed.
"Yeah-" Hidenori trailed.
"Asshole!" Hidenori and the employee exclaimed at each other.
"You-" Hidenori trailed.
"Did you call me an asshole?!" the employee demanded.
"Yes, I did, because you're being an asshole!" Hidenori confirmed, "Why didn't you help me?" he admonished.
"Bro, you're being an asshole!" the employee argued, "I'm in the middle of something right now!" he reasoned.
"Fuck you!" Hidenori insulted, "Don't you work here?" he reminded, "I'm just a customer!" he pointed out.
"You walk up to me and you literally just start bugging me with stupid questio-" the employee was trying to say but is interrupted.
"I'm not 'bugging you', I'm just asking you!" Hidenori argued.
"What do you need?!" the employee demanded, "Wha-" he was trying to say but his anger overwhelmed him, leading him to strike Hidenori in the face, and in response, the bespectacled young man delivered a punch back.
This initiated a brawl between Hidenori and the employee, prompting customers, including Rin's group, to scatter.
After completing their purchases, everyone headed back to their respective vehicles in the parking lot.
"Wow, I didn't see that coming." Chiaki confessed.
"A fistfight in a fish store." Aoi exclaimed, "What are the chances?" she pondered.
"Both individuals had short tempers, but I believe the employee was in the wrong." Rin remarked.
"Absolutely." Minami concurred, "While I understand he was busy, he should still be able to respond to a customer's simple inquiry." she asserted.
"As someone who works in a bookstore, I can certainly relate to that." Rin added.
With that, everyone entered their individual vehicles and departed from the location. If they had lingered for a few more minutes, they would have seen Mitsunori Kugayama, Yoshitake Tanaka, and Yuki Souma transporting a sizable bluefin tuna.
-BREAK-
While traveling to Cape Tsumeki, Ena pointed out the absence of campsites, but Minami clarified that they would be camping on the beach. She noted that there is a regulation that forbids camping on all Izu beaches from June to October, although this restriction is lifted from November to May.
Upon encountering an attendant, he disclosed that camping is prohibited, leaving Minami astonished and taken aback. Minami then pointed out that camping is allowed in winter, to which the attendant anxiously clarified that the landowner had imposed a ban on winter camping several years prior, causing Minami to feel a sense of dread and panic.
Subsequently, the group opted to investigate Cape Tsumeki while Minami searched for an alternative campsite.
Geospot number four: Cape Tsumeki - a cape of Southeast of Shimoda City on Suzaki Peninsula and the area is known for its narcissus colonies.
The girls subsequently chose to capture photographs near the lighthouse. Aoi, Chiaki, and Ena opted to ascend to the top of the lighthouse for an enhanced view, but they were almost swept away by the strong winds.
In the meantime, Akari, Nadeshiko, and Rin made their way to Tawaraiso Beach, where the angular rock formations evoked images of countless unsharpened pencils.
Shortly thereafter, everyone are seen sitting on various wooden benches, sipping warm drinks as they admire the picturesque landscape, while Minami continues her search for an available campsite on her phone.
"I'm sorry." Minami apologized, "I'm looking for a campsite for us right now." she shared before letting out a sigh and pressing a hand on her face.
"You don't need to get so down, sensei." Ena reassured.
"I was hoping to get my drink on all day today..." Minami thought in distraught.
Chiaki then pulls out her phone, "Maybe there are some open spots at the campsites today." she assumed, "It's winter, after all." she pointed out.
Aoi then spoke, "We have to find one quick, though, or the administrators will all go home." she beckoned.
"That's what happened in Lake Yamanaka, right?" Ena reminded.
Both Aoi and Chiaki gasped and paled upon being reminded of their experience back in Lake Yamanaka, "We could end up have to sleep in the car!" Chiaki exclaimed in dread.
"Sleeping in the car..." Nadeshiko thought about it.
Nadeshiko envisioned herself along with Akari, Aoi, Ena, Minami and Rin nestled in their sleeping bags inside the car while Chiaki rested on the roof.
For some unknown reason, Chiaki found herself witnessing this daydream, "I'm sleeping up there?" she questioned with a dry tone.
"Hey, why don't we try asking Iida-san?" Ena suggested with everyone perking up in anticipation, "She's a veteran camper and she's a local." she reminded.
"That's it!" everyone exclaimed in agreement.
In response to her student's proposal, Minami promptly picked up her phone and contacted a specific person. After a brief discussion, she let out a sigh of relief and turned to her students, signaling with an okay gesture, which elicited cheers from them.
"Iida-san has an acquaitance who runs a campsite." Minami shared, "They found a place for us there." she stated.
"Yay!" Akari, Aoi, Chiaki and Ena cheered.
"Where's the campsite?" Nadeshiko asked.
"By the beach in Nishiizu City." Minami answered.
Chiaki then checks the maps on her phone, "That's pretty close to Dougashima, where we were gonna go the day after the next." she pointed out., "In that case, let's chill until noon and go tomorrow." she suggested.
"But we're going to have to make a huge detour to get to the geospot tomorrow, though." Aoi pointed out.
Chiaki gasped in realization, "You're right." she acknowledged.
Rin then steps forward, "May I?" she offered, "We could visit this geospot right now, before we go to the campsite." she begun, "Then, tomorrow, we could make our way up slowly and stop by Itou on our way home the day after." she explained.
"That's a perfect route." Aoi commented.
"Wow, Rin-chan!" Nadeshiko exclaimed in awe.
"You sure are an expert traveler, Shima-san." Minami complimented, "Well, shall we get going?" she beckoned.
"Yeah!" Akari, Aoi and Nadeshiko cheered in response.
Rin then walked towards Chiaki and Ena, "This way, we'll have plenty of time tomorrow to prep." she explained, "For Operation Shrimp." she revealed.
"I see." Ena acknowledged with a smile.
"Good thinking, Rin." Chiaki complimented.
Akari then joins them, "What's up?" she asked with a curious look.
Chiaki, Ena and Rin looks at her in surprise, "We should let Mini Inuko in on it, too." Chiaki suggested to which Ena and Rin nodded in agreement.
As they approached their vehicles, they observed a red car pulling in beside their van. Exiting the car were Chris Pearson, Dan Mandel, "Ninja" Dave Bauza, along with another individual.
The figure is a young woman with an average height, she had a fair complexion and a slender body, she had a maroon shoulder-length hair and she had purple-colored dilated eyes. She wears a white shirt with red cuffs, blue hip-hugger jeans and a pair of red sneakers. This is Elise Pearson, Chris' wife.
As Rin's group approached, they found themselves unable to avoid overhearing the discussions taking place within Dan's group.
"Isn't this location stunning?" Elise inquired with her smile brightening the atmosphere.
Dan let out a dismissive huff, "If it's worthy of being set ablaze, then I find it beautiful." he responded.
"Dan, stop with the negativity." Elise admonished, "We're here to enjoy ourselves." she asserted.
"Fine, fine." Dan relented. "Just don't try to dazzle me." he cautioned.
"I'm eager to soak in the serenity of this place." Ninja Dave expressed with a relax smile.
"And I, for one, am excited about the delicious food this place has to offer!" Chris chimed in enthusiastically.
At that moment, an unusual individual approached them, capturing their attention.
"Hello?" the stranger greeted, "I saw you..." he trailed, "... I saw you from across the town." he said, "And I'm just wondering if, like, you-" he trailed once more.
"Yeah?" Chris uttered on confusion.
"Are you a tourist?" the stranger asked, "Are you a t..." he trailed, "Are you a tourist?" he repeated.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, we don't really have the time to talk right now." Chris reasoned with an apology, "We're in the middle of figuring something out." he shared.
"But you are a tourist?" the stranger asked once more, "But are you a..." he trailed, "You are a..." he tried to say.
"Yes, we're tourists." Chris confirmed, "Yes." he repeated, "We have everything figured out." he claimed.
"Do you..." the stranger trailed, "Do you have any cash?" he asked, "Any cash with you?" he furthered, "Cash." he added.
Chris looks at his companions for a minute, "I'm not..." he trailed, "I'm not giving you..." he furthered, "I'm not giving you the answer to that, sir." he declared.
"Sorry, we don't have any cash." Elise apologized.
"Yeah." Dan uttered in agreement.
"What about your..." the stranger trailed.
"We're actually just in the middle of-" Dan was about explode but Chris cuts him off.
"Sir, we really need to be left alone right now, please." Chris pleaded.
"Well, listen, you have a very good stay in Cape Tsumeki, my friend." the stranger encouraged, "Alright?" he urged, "Cape Tsumeki is a very good place." he said before leaving.
"Yes, it is." Chris said in agreement, "Yes, we love Cape Tsumeki." he added with a smile, "Thank you." he expressed before turning to his companions, "Dude, when he fucking moved his arm, I thought he was gonna hit me." he uttered in dread, "I thought he was gonna fucking punch me." he added.
"I actually thought the same thing." Dan said in agreement, "I really did." he insisted before chuckling, "I-I saw you flinch, too." he added.
"He was fidgeting." Chris pointed out, "He was, like, fidgeting with something in his pocket." he described, "I thought he was gonna, like, pull something out and, like, hit me." he shared his thoughts.
"That was a weird encounter." Ninja Dave commented.
When Rin's group arrived at their vehicles, Dan's group had already departed.
"I'm not sure about the rest of you." Chiaki began, "But we should definitely keep a watchful eye on that individual who approached that group." she gestured towards the direction.
"I'll notify the authorities as a precaution." Minami responded.
"I'm relieved that nothing unfortunate occurred, but that conversation seemed unusual." Ena remarked.
"Absolutely." Rin replied in agreement.
-BREAK-
Rin's group continues their journey, making a stop at Izu Orange Center to purchase some beverages, with Minami selecting a Mandarin Wine. They then drove through Higashiizu Town, passing a forest decorated with treehouses. After a short drive, they reached Hosono Plateau.
Geospot number five: Hosono Plateau - a highland in Inatori, Higashiizu City, well-known for it's fields of silver grass.
Rin's group subsequently parked their vehicles at the base of Mt. Misujiyama and disembarked from their respective rides. For an unusual reason, Scooby Doo is in the vicinity and has permitted Akari, Nadeshiko and Rin to pet him, which brings him great joy.
Ena extends her back as Minami exhales deeply, "We're finally here." the latter announced.
Aoi positioned herself in front of a sign located adjacent to a stair-like pathway ascending towards the mountains, "This says it's fifteen minutes to the peek." she shared.
"It's a mini climb." Ena described.
"Indeed." Rin uttered in agreement.
Just as the group was preparing to ascend, Usopp unexpectedly came barreling down the path, catching everyone off guard.
Usopp then faced the girls, "You all did not see me." he proclaimed while pointing at himself with a thumb.
"Look, there he is!" someone shouted.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!" Usopp screamed in fright, his eyes wide and his tongue flailing like a banner as he leaped onto Scooby, using the dog's left leg as a launchpad and his left ear as a throttle.
Scooby roared to life like a motorcycle, his legs spinning rapidly like wheels.
In an instant, Usopp and Scooby sped away, and within moments, a group including Arisa Narumi, Connie Springer, Joe Higashi, Manny Taur, Mr. Jones, Ren Nikaidou, Sayaka Miki, Scott Pilgrim, Skullomania, The Scout, Topher Jacot, Yoko Littner, You Satou and Zelos Wilder began to pursue them with Shinpachi Shimura lagging behind.
The girls were left speechless by what they had just seen.
"What on earth was that?" Rin asked.
"I'm at a loss for words." Aoi responded.
Shaking things off, Akari bounces next to Nadeshiko, "Nadeshiko-chan!" the mini-Aoi called out, "Let's race to the top!" she beckoned.
Nadeshiko smiled in response, "Okay!" she accepted, "Challenge accepted!" she declared.
"The loser has to buy the winner a drink." Akari suggested.
"All right!" Nadeshiko accepted.
Chiaki then steps forward, "Hold it, hold it, hold it..." she interrupted while taking off her scarf, "Count me in, too!" she declared with a grin.
"Wow!" Akari and Nadeshiko exclaimed in awe.
"So full of life." Rin commented.
"They sure are." Aoi uttered in agreement.
Akari and Nadeshiko began their ascent along the trail while Chiaki took a moment to stretch her limbs.
"Okay, we'll see you up ahead." Nadeshiko said.
"Okay." Aoi replied, "We'll be taking our time." she shared before turning to Chiaki, "Are you sure, Aki?" the blonde liar urged, "This is Nadeshiko-chan you're up againt." she reminded.
Chiaki rose to her feet and extended her arms, "I've got this." she confidently declared in a self-assured tone before hurrying to join Akari and Nadeshiko.
As Akari, Chiaki and Nadeshiko arrived at the starting line of their race, they lined up side by side, their expressions brimming with enthusiasm.
"I'm not the same girl who got winded on the hill at Fuefuki." Chiaki thought, "My legs are super strong now, after all that work at the end of the year." she declared, "Now this moment you get to witness..." she trailed with a grin, "... the evolved Aki!" she declared.
With that, the race commenced, and Chiaki quickly surged ahead.
In contrast, Aoi, Ena and Rin ascended the mountain at a leisurely pace. Upon discovering a wooden bench, they paused to rest, sitting together while admiring the breathtaking view, exhaling cold breaths in wonder.
"What a nice view." Ena commented in awe.
"Yeah." Rin uttered in agreement.
"Mountain climbing is nice for a change." Aoi remarked.
"Yeah." Ena said in agreement.
"Are you not interested in mountain climbing at all, Rin-chan?" Aoi asked.
"Mountain climbing, huh?" Rin uttered out loud, "I don't think I could be one of those legit climbers who carries ton of stuff with them." she admitted, "But I think I'd like to stay at a campsite for mountain climbers someday." she considered to which Aoi and Ena uttered out loud in awe, Rin let's out a cold breath, "Once it gets warmer, I guess." she added with a smile.
The girls redirected their focus to the picturesque landscape once more.
"It really is a nice view." Aoi commented.
"I want to come back again when the silver grass is in season." Ena expressed.
"Same." Rin uttered in agreement before getting up from her seat, "Well, should we get going?" she beckoned.
Ena stood up while dusting her behind, "I guess we should." she complied while Aoi stood up as well.
Aoi, Ena and Rin continued their ascent along the path and soon encountered Chiaki lying motionless on the ground, resembling a piece of lumber.
"Aki-chan's dead." Ena commented nonchalantly.
Out of nowhere, a voice called out "Rin", causing Rin to perk up. The girls turned to see Renton Thurston approaching along the path, repeatedly shouting the name "Rin".
"Rin!" Renton exclaimed, "Where are you?" he hollered before noticing Chiaki lying motionless on the path, "Oh, look, a dead body." he remarked rather casually, "Rin!" he called out again.
"Rin, he's looking for you." Ena teased.
"I don't even know him." Rin replied, joining in on Ena's playful banter.
"RIN!" Renton yelled even louder.
In response, Rin Hoshizora, Rin Kurosawa, Rin Matsuoka, Rin Okumura, Rin Toosaka and Rin Tooyama all came rushing towards him from various directions.
"What do you want, Thurston?" Rin Toosaka asked, clearly annoyed.
Renton was taken aback by the sudden appearance of so many Rins, "My apologies." he expressed while pointing at Rin Okumura, "I was actually looking for this guy because he owes me some money." the sky surfer clarified.
"Son of a bitch." Rin Okumura muttered under his breath.
Renton shook his head, "I apologize for interrupting everyone." he expressed in apology, "Feel free to return to your activities." he beckoned while gesturing for them to proceed.
As Renton and Rin Okumura departed, the other Rins scattered, leaving Aoi, Ena and Rin in a state of shock and disbelief.
"That's a lot of Rins." Aoi observed.
"What are the odds of having so many Rins gathered in one location?" Ena noted.
"I truly wish my name wasn't so popular." Rin expressed with a blank look.
After shaking off the recent events from their minds, Aoi, Ena and Rin continue their ascent. A few minutes later, they arrive at the summit of the mountain, where they are welcomed by a breathtaking panoramic view, with the wind gently tousling their hairs.
"The view from the peak is amazing!" Ena exclaimed in awe.
"Yeah." Rin uttered in agreement.
"It is." Aoi followed.
Aoi then took out her phone and directed it towards the scene in front of them, "I'm going to take a panorama shot." she announced her intention and started to shift her phone to the right when, out of nowhere, Chiaki appeared on the screen, breathing heavily.
Chiaki then fell down on the grass, "I made it." she declared.
"Good effort, Aki-chan." Ena complimented and Chiaki responded with a weak thumbs-up when Akari and Nadeshiko then joins them, "So who won the race, anyway?" the dog lover asked.
Nadeshiko puffed her chest, "I did." she revealed with a smug smile.
Akari pouted, "You're so childish, Nadeshiko-chan." she chastised, "You could've gone easier on me." she lamented.
"The lion hunts the hare with all its might." Nadeshiko replied while keeping her smug expression.
Akari then smiled, "So anyway, Aki-chan, you owe us both drink." she declared.
"Dang..." Chiaki cursed out loud, "... alright." she conceded.

"The world would be significantly improved without the presence of humanity." Philip J. Fry reflected while holding a coffee mug, "We are the source of trouble and disorder." he continued, "I genuinely wish we would all just disappear." he stated before taking a sip of his coffee, Fry then brightened up, "Oh, good morning, Perrine."he greeted.
"Fry." Perrine H. Clostermann began while cradling her own coffee mug, "You really ought to have your coffee before interacting with others." she suggested with her disbelief evident.
