"Hmm..." Zelretch was bored. Beyond belief.
Watching over several timelines, multiple permutations of the world, forever, should mean he had unlimited access to whatever passed as entertainment in the thousands of variations of Earth out there. The problem is that he was burned out on it.
He had enough of games, movies and books. Even his magical research, which could constitute as fun, had reached a wall and he couldn't stand looking at it anymore.
Going to random variations of the clock tower and messing with the magus there usually gave him enough of a laugh to get him back on track.
"No such luck." The magician scratched his beard as he sat upon his cosmic throne. He scrolled through the pages of a book, watching for different worlds.
Worlds where magic had developed differently enough that he didn't usually meddle with them, or he would risk being stranded there, should his connection to the root, Akasha, work in a manner that would make him have to relearn his craft.
Ghosts, witches, aliens, robots and heroes. So many to choose from, but if he couldn't go there himself, he had to choose a puppet, or more elegantly put, a protagonist in which he could see the events through, an anchor to his magic system that would allow him to watch what's going on and not just see things as statistics and probabilities.
And he knew exactly who he'd send there.
Willingly too! He thought as a wicked smile grew on his lips.
The last time he had fun doing that, he had sent that boy to a world of sword and magic to be a girl's familiar. The time before that, sent to the world of the 4 noble phantasms where the laws of physics obeyed a gamified system, or even the one where humanity is in an all-out war against soulless monsters and an immortal ruler.
Oh! The time he'd sent him to witness the travesty that is the world where some people call themselves heroes and those opposing have the gal to actually name their group as villains.
Priceless!
This time he wants to see something different, some place dark. Nothing too outrageous in power-scale, where even the strongest ones need to be smart about how they face threats or risk death. A place where people would fit right in if they came to his original timeline.
This is perfect. Now he had just to choose a variant of the boy. One that was experienced but not too much. He wanted to see him struggle to adapt but he honestly couldn't stand his Holly Grail self, not the one from the first day, at least.
"The one with a bit of firsthand experience and a lot of thirdhand knowledge." He spoke as giving a command to his book. "I wonder if I should bring my pupil and her familiar along as well…" The book stops on a picture. "Well, we'll see how it goes with only him for now."
The picture of a redhead boy comes to life, showing him doing groceries of all things, him and two girls somewhere in London.
Emyia Shirou shuddered at a series of events he couldn't fathom were about to happen.
Author notes: I've been on a Jujutsu high for the last couple of weeks and it struck my creative bone. I also found funny the whole Domain/Reality Marble parallels and couldn't stand not reading a crossover.
Except there hasn't been one updated within several months. So I went Thanos and here we are.
I can't really promise anything in regards to quality but I'll try my best. So far it's only the setup but I should update it shortly.
Cheers
