(Hi there! Remember me? It's Jess! It's been a while! I've been working on this Tangled the Series fanfiction with my friend storyreader01! I'm still working on my other fanfiction, 'Idunn In The Storm' too, I haven't forgotten about it! :) Anyway, enjoy!)
Cass rode towards Corona, the wind billowing through her short black hair. Fidella broke into a gallop as the castle gates came into view.
Owl was perched on her shoulder, loyal as always. It had been far too long since she had seen Rapunzel, and every part of her was beyond ecstatic to see her.
Five long months had gone by since she had left Corona. Even though Cass had enjoyed every single city and adventure she had been on, it was nice to finally be back in familiar surroundings.
Cass inhaled the fresh, crisp Corona air as Fidella rode down the dirt path, past the Snuggly Duckling and towards the main village. She shivered a little but brushed it off as simply nerves.
The cheerful chatter of people filled the air around her familiar surroundings. The bright golden lanterns hung around the village, adding to the uplifting and happy mood of all who inhabited it.
A familiar silverly laugh could be heard from the café tables. Cass's heart stood still. She knew that voice better than anyone. A wide smile grew across her face, her heart swelling with happiness.
Rapunzel sat opposite Pascal at one of the clean, silver tables. Pascal looked up at her happily, as she slurped down a large chocolate milkshake. Rapunzel placed another straw in the glass and bent it down to Pascal's height.
Pascal took a sip and immediately turned the same colour of the milk. He squeaked in amusement, earning a smile from Rapunzel.
Cass's heart pounded in her chest at the sight of Rapunzel. All her focus was on her Rapunzel, her pretty much sister, her best friend.
Cass wanted to let out every joyful emotion she had, but she dared not to scream and ruin her surprise.
She slowly creeped up behind Rapunzel, listening in to her conversation.
"I wonder what Cass is up to…." Rapunzel wondered out loud.
Pascal made a silly face in response.
"Pascal!" Rapunzel laughed. "I'm sure Cass wouldn't appreciate if-"
"Appreciate what? That she's already been to four of the seven kingdoms in the space of a few months?" Cass said from behind Rapunzel.
Rapunzel paused, her heart pounding faster in her chest. Was she hallucinating? It couldn't be…
She slowly turned around to reveal a grinning Cassandra.
"CASSANDRA!" Rapunzel squealed, lifting up Cass and spinning her around happily. "It's really you!"
She cupped Cass's cheeks and kissed her head.
Cass laughed. "Yes, it's me. How are you, my dear sister from another mister?"
"I'm GREAT!" Rapunzel squealed. "OH, I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE HERE! Come come come! We have so much to do!" She grabbed Cass's hand with a wide grin.
Cass giggled happily as Rapunzel pulled her through the village. She had missed this.
"AH…AH…AH..ACHOO!" Cass suddenly sneezed into her elbow
Rapunzel stopped abruptly and turned back to Cassandra.
"Are you okay?" She asked, obvious concern in her eyes.
Cass nodded. "Probably some random dust in the wind. Do carry on." She smiled.
At first Rapunzel was hesitant, but that anxiety soon blew over and she gave Cassandra's hand a reassuring squeeze. Once more, they were off.
The cheerful music of the musicians in the main square were pleasant on Cassandra's ears.
She watched as Rapunzel ran into the middle of the square, pulling in random people to dance to the joyful music. Her happiness and bubbly personality was definitely contagious.
