What would have happened if Shinji had managed to fix the world in 3.33? This story will show the sacrifices of the man everyone thought was a monster to make up for his biggest mistake, but it seems that not everything will turn out the way he expected, especially when the world and the people don't cooperate for peace. 2.5 You Can (Not) Give Up continues the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies. The narrative picks up after the end of 2.0, where the protagonist, Cyrus, pilots the newly reconstructed Unit 03. The story overall introduces a single new character to try and give an explanation for most of the events that take place later on in 3.0 and 4.0 whilst trying to give previous characters depth

Once they get to their deployment site, they're faced with horrors beyond human comprehension but must keep working to try and help NERV save the world. Shinji Ikari finds himself in the void at the end of time, being chased by superpowered versions of his friends. With the help of other people trapped in the Void, Shinji must find a way back home.

Post Third Impact, Yui Ikari returns to take care of her son. There to help her is Misato Katsuragi, who in the past 7 months has formally adopted Shinji. As Shinji's moms, they will have to learn to live together.

On a night in their adult lives, Shinji and Asuka drink too much. Enough for old desires and passions to resurface, but perhaps it's too late for those (oneshot)
