Chapter Three: Melon Lord

Aang packed his belongings with a practiced efficiency, though his mind was tangled with multiple concerns. Katara stood in the doorway, her expression a mix of frustration and sadness as she watched him.

"I understand you're caught up in saving the world and all," Katara said, her voice tinged with hurt, "but don't forget that I'm here too. I need to know that I matter to you."

Aang glanced up, a hint of exasperation in his eyes. "I'm aware of that, Katara. It's just... things are a bit overwhelming right now."

Katara's gaze softened slightly, though she still seemed troubled. "It's not just about this mission. I'm worried that you're getting pulled in so many directions that you might forget about us."

Aang approached her, his tone gentle but edged with impatience. "I won't forget. It's just... a lot to juggle."She sighed, stepping closer. "I just need you to remember that we're important too."Aang nodded, though his expression remained conflicted. "I'll try to keep that in mind."

Their moment of reconnection was brief but heartfelt. Katara gave him a small, tired smile before stepping back. "Go find Azula, and please be safe."

With a final, lingering look, Aang headed for Appa. The bison was ready and waiting, and soon they were soaring over the sprawling cityscape of Ba Sing Se.They landed gently near Toph's modest apartment. The door swung open to reveal Toph, her usual grin in place.

"Well, look who finally decided to grace me with his presence," Toph said, her tone playful. "What's the matter? Left Katara for me, did you?"

Aang smirked, stepping inside. "Oh, I'm sure you're just thrilled to see me, Toph."

Toph rolled her eyes, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Twinkle Toes, you know I'm always thrilled. Besides, I hear you've been playing glorified nanny to different nations' conflicts lately. How's that working out for you?"

Aang chuckled as he embraced her in a hug. The moment lingered longer than expected, and they both felt a flush of warmth. When they finally pulled away, both were slightly embarrassed, their faces red.

"Well," Aang began, shifting to a more serious tone, "I'm here because Azula's last known location was this city. I'm worried about what she might be up to. I need your help to track her down."

Toph raised an eyebrow, her expression thoughtful. "Azula, huh? I might have heard something about her being around here. I've only got a semester left until I'm finally on the force, so I've been picking up a few things along the way."

Aang's expression brightened. "That's great to hear. Your skills will definitely come in handy."Toph grabbed her coat and a small satchel. "Alright, let's see what my contact knows. He might have some leads on Azula's whereabouts."

As they stepped out into the bustling streets of Ba Sing Se, their previous banter gave way to focused determination. The search for Azula had begun, and with Toph's insider knowledge and skills, Aang hoped they were one step closer to finding her.
