Palace of Alcazarzaray

Dori

As it turns out, when the God of Wisdom is vouching for your goods, everything becomes extremely profitable.

Since Nahida began to vouch for Dori's quality ever since they befriended each other, practically everyone in Sumeru wanted what Dori was selling. Coincidentally, Dori sold practically anything one could think of.

So, thanks to a bit of foresight, Dori was now the owner of a completely legitimate company that essentially bought whatever it wanted, and sold it at higher prices to the masses because Nahida technically endorsed it by endorsing the company, so people would buy it regardless of the quality.

Of course, the company was named "Sangemah Bay" because her title, Lord Sangemah Bay, was already recognizable to the general public and brand recognition was very important to starting off on a good foot.

Once she informed Fuse about her business endeavors, he simply laughed and told her about an American company named Amazon and a man named Jeff Bezos. That also ended in a rant about someone richer named Elon Musk, but since the rant was about the "fascist authoritarian bullshit that Muskrat dickrides," Dori is completely fine with forgetting about that whole section of the conversation.

She simply wishes that Fuse has an enjoyable time putting a bullet in whoever he ranted about.

…And to not rant about it to her, who doesn't really care for all of the political rants Fuse throws at her. She's much more interested in the ideals and business aspect of the country he loves.

Anyhow, Jeff Bezos built a business on making sure his company sold basically everything and could get it to the customer in quite literally a day. That wasn't quite as feasible in Teyvat where the technology level was lower.

But Dori just so happens to have the ability to portal to a world where there was the technology to do so. All she needed to do was to get enough mana to actually open the portal for any reasonable amount of time.

Which, actually, was the issue. Dori had essentially no mana, and could only open the portal for a second before passing out. No other extraterrestrial beings had this problem either, because most of them don't even have the ability, and Fuse doesn't use mana to open his own portals.

She did ask Luciel and Garbanag about it, but apparently they didn't even have the ability to travel between worlds yet because they didn't fulfill the requirements before being defeated by Fuse.

For Luciel, that was to "complete a nation's archon quest," whatever that meant. For Garbanag, it was to defeat the Moon Lord, whoever that was.

Garbanag physically couldn't complete his requirement because he was in a different world now. Unless Fuse allowed him to, Garbanag would never be able to leave Teyvat on his own will.

But Luciel, according to herself, just needed to follow the Traveler for a while and that situation would likely accomplish itself.

As much as Dori wanted Luciel to go to Fontaine where the Traveler was likely headed to next, Fuse did trust her to keep the two Gamers here. She couldn't break that trust unless she was interested in how it felt to die violently.

While Fuse would likely approve it, he wasn't around right now. So she had to instead use brute force to actually throw her into another world.

Which is where her newfound merchant friend from another world, Romeo, came in.

When Fuse defeated Garbanag, he ended up bringing everyone from that world, Terraria, over to Teyvat. Those people now lived outside of the Palace of Alcazarzaray, forming a tight community filled with a bunch of weirdos. Because that's what they acted like, weirdos.

Out of all of them, Romeo was the most proactive in actually reaching out to her. That was because he was a merchant, and recognized that Dori would always be up for a good deal.

Coincidentally, Romeo had an inventory like Fuse, filled with a bunch of things. Most importantly, mana potions.

Romeo told her that in Terraria, one could increase their mana capacity by gathering fallen stars, which apparently just fall out of the sky every night in his world. So if Dori could gain enough fallen stars, she might be able to increase her mana capacity to be able to open her portals on her own.

The plan was very simple. Romeo would lend her mana potions free of charge. Then, she would drink it all down and try to make a portal that would last long enough for her to jump inside and hopefully not pass out.

It wasn't likely that Dori would be able to fend off every monster alone, though. Her Pokemon weren't very strong, and her genie wasn't attuned to the strength of the monsters in another world.

So, if she could keep the potion open for long enough, Angeles would jump in with her. Angeles had enough power to nearly kill Fuse, so she could likely handle anything else that appeared. Not to mention, Angeles probably knew what a fallen star looked like, unlike Dori who couldn't even figure out a color for it.

If Dori could leave this expedition with enough mana to keep her portals open for, say, a full minute…

She couldn't contain her grin at all of the potential riches she could obtain from other worlds.

Standing up, Dori proclaimed to the world, "I'm going to be the richest woman in the multiverse!"

Waking up, Dori immediately realized she passed out from creating her portal. She could still taste the mana potions in her mouth, though.

It wasn't a very pleasant taste, honestly. It felt low quality, which was the exact opposite of Dori's tastes.

Coughing, Dori began to sit up, taking note of her location. She was sitting in a desert biome that she didn't recognize.

But she did recognize that not recognizing it was a good thing. After all, she should be in a new world, right?

It was still bright outside, so she likely wasn't going to see any fallen stars for another few hours though. Plus, she was in the desert, which wasn't very good for her. She didn't prepare to be in the desert.

Standing up, Dori realized that she hadn't seen Angeles anywhere. Did she not make it in time?

Turning around to get the full view of her surroundings, she answered her own question as she found out what Angeles had been doing.

The blood of monsters stained the sand, as the corpses were hardly left intact. Angeles had killed everything that approached her.

"Angeles?" Dori questioned, walking over to her, "Looks like you were, ah, busy."

The most puzzling part about the destruction she caused was that Angeles wasn't even in any special form. Nor did she have blood on her. It was as though she was just a bystander even though Dori knew full well that Angeles killed every monster here.

Turning around, Angeles gave Dori an innocent wave, "You're up. I was busy protecting you for an hour."

Cringing at how long she was passed out, Dori apologized, "Ah, sorry. I didn't think I would be out for that long…"

"It is fine," Turning her head up, Angeles said, "It will not be night for another 5 hours. Would you like to plunder whatever we find on the surface? Or perhaps we may use one of Garbanag's routes to the underground to see what he left behind."

Quite frankly, all she wanted were the fallen stars. Dori didn't care for much else, since she didn't have an inventory to carry everything she wanted back home.

"I don't have an inventory, I don't think you do either," Dori explained with a tinge of disappointment, "I have the equipment to carry everything home. I'm only prepared for the fallen stars."

Putting a finger on her chin, Angeles asked, "Then, will we be standing around and doing nothing for 5 hours?"

…Putting it that way…

"...You know what, maybe we can check what we can find and take."

Their expedition across the world ended with Dori- sorry, Angeles, carrying a chest full of random goods.

It was at that moment Dori learned that Angeles could pull out 2 new arms to have 4 arms, so it wasn't as big of a deal as she thought it would be.

But night finally came, and the night sky was adorned with the stars she was told would soon fall down.

"How does that even work, by the way?" Was the first thing Dori asked when she began to see something bright move in the night sky, "Like, stars falling isn't a normal thing in Teyvat."

Shrugging, Angeles vaguely answered, "Terraria has its own laws."

Dori felt as though that was supposed to be a reference to something. But she had no idea what it was a reference to. She didn't feel like asking either.

Watching a star fall for the first time far off in the distance, she remarked, "It's really pretty…"

"Beauty is lost on me. I shall just take your word for it," Angeles said, ruining the mood, "Now, shall we move towards the fallen star?"

Dori sighed, "Let me stare in awe at a falling star for a while, won't you? But yeah, let's move."

While the stars continued to fall throughout the night, Dori adorned herself a necklace of fallen stars.

Or, at least she tried to make a necklace. What actually happened was she pushed three fallen stars together to make a mana crystal. Then she crushed it by mistake due to the fragility of the mana crystal, increasing her mana capacity.

It was extremely fortuitous that there was no such person capable of seeing her slight blunder and inexperience. Absolutely no one. Robots don't count.

When the sun began to rise, it was only at that moment Angeles decided to warn Dori, "Fallen stars dissipate when exposed to sunlight. Please put it inside this chest before the sun claims it."

"Huh? Seriously? This place has some weird mechanics," Dori remarked, though she placed her singular fallen star within the chest as commanded.

Through the night, she has gained a grand total of 3 mana crystals. She has no idea how much of a difference that made in her mana capacity, but Dori felt like it was a lot.

With the baseline of her abilities firmly established, around maybe a second and a half of portaling to another world, Dori felt confident about saying, "So, Angeles, wanna drop off this chest in Teyvat?"

"Prediction, you will pass out again," Angeles blandly predicted, using a new way of speaking just to rub it in.

Yep, that was her friend, alright.

Crossing her arms, Dori replied, "I'm going to do it just to spite you."

Really, what was a more powerful motivator than petty spite?

Money, that was Dori's answer. But the only money to be made was in the future from the results of her "training."

…And the items within the chest.

Maybe she wasn't doing this to spite Angeles and she really just wanted to cash out.

Regardless, Dori held out her hand, ready to form a portal, "Alright, get ready!"

Creating a link from Terraria to Teyvat, a portal opens. Dori is picked up by Angeles and is quickly rushed into it.

The portal closes, successfully transporting Dori and Angeles through to another world.

"Hah!" Dori cheers, ignoring the increasing fog in her brain, "I did it! I'm just… That…"

Naturally, Dori passed out for the next 30 minutes, which was an improvement over the hour before. Small victories, she supposed.

Fuse

Standing above the policeman who decided fist fighting me was a good idea, I sighed at the boredom of having to grind my Pokemon to a reasonable level of strength.

Looking over to Florida, I see that she was right on the verge of evolving into a Tinkaton. Good for her, she's probably about to beg me to fight something soon.

Texas is still far from evolving into a Salamence, though, which sucks.

"Ugh, I'm never trusting an expedition into the Pokemon world ever again," I groaned as I moved on to find the next battle, "Why couldn't Lily just fall over and die? That would be great."

AN:

Fuse training chapter was boring, so Dori money making arc it is.

We will either be starting to end this damned arc next chapter, or Dori is about to make a Dorillion dollars. That is all I have to say.

...And yeah, I procrastinated too hard and had to write this on the day it was due to be published T_T
